When it comes to award ceremonies most are stuffy occasions where celebrities are bribed with obscene goodie bags worth hundreds of thousands of dollar. The MTV Music Awards however… are no different.
Luckily for us the men’s fashion is always a fun affair at the MTV Music Awards. Celebrities embrace their wilder sides rather than adhering to a formal dress code. Thank god.
This year Kendrick Lamar may have cleaned up in the award stakes but it was his counterparts stealing the style limelight. Honourable mentions go to Daps, Billy Eichner and Quavo.
All pulling off some great looks for the red carpet arrivals. Quavo’s Drive inspired pink bomber jacket was to die for. Where can we get one?

First Unofficial ‘Yeezy’ Store Officially Opens In China
The Chinese can be rather bold when it comes to professional counterfeiting and the latest display of this audacious behaviour is the unofficial “YEEZY” store which sells fake YEEZY sneakers – right next door the ‘New Bunren’ store.
The latest YEEZY outlet landed in Wenzhou and actually features a pretty slick fit out to complement the array of fake YEEZY BOOST sneakers which come in an array of never-before-seen colours.
Given that big companies are currently waging a war against some Chinese who have a blatant disregard for trademarks (Under Armour vs. Uncle Martian, Jordan vs. Qiaodan Sports, New Balance vs. New Boom), it should only be a matter of time before Wengzhou’s “YEEZY” gets the same book thrown at it. Whether or not the big label names win against this deep-rooted practice in China is another issue.

Coffee Could Make You Immortal (Almost)
Those who openly admit that they can’t live without coffee might actually have a point. A new study has found that drinking two to four cups of the brown stuff a day can reduce the risk of death amongst middle aged drinkers.
The surprising theory (which we don’t recommend you try) was presented at the European Cardiac Society Congress 2017 and based on a study of nearly 20,000 people in Spain.
The subjects were all aged 37 and followed around for almost a decade. During this period, 337 participants had died with researchers claiming that participants who consumed at least four cups of coffee per day had a 64% lower risk of death when compared to those who didn’t drink coffee. They also found that there was a 22% lower risk of death for those who consumed two cups of coffee a day.
“We found an inverse association between drinking coffee and the risk of all-cause mortality, particularly in people aged 45 years and above. This may be due to a stronger protective association among older participants,” said Dr. Adela Navarro, study co-author and a cardiologist at Hospital de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.
Thankfully the researchers were considerate enough to report that this was just a correlation between coffee and increased mortality – not solid evidence for a call to action.
For those who aren’t aware, coffee is a rich source of antioxidants including chlorogenic acids which can create a protective, anti-inflammatory effect in the body and brain.

How Get Out Sex Stains From Common Surfaces
Congratulations, you’ve done the deed and have won over your lover indefinitely. What happens next though is something a little less glamorous. Sex stains. Here’s how to get them out of your mattress, carpet and car thanks to the insightful people at Metro.
Mattress: Go for enzyme cleaners. These can rid sex stains on your mattress that have been there from last night or (God forbid) last year. If you don’t have time to find enzyme cleaners, try mixing hot water with dish detergent and baking soda instead. Adding hydrogen peroxide can also help as an active lifting agent. Once applied simply take a towel and scrub the stained area until it disappears.
Carpet: If you were game enough to engage in a bit of sexy time on your lounge room rug then you can bet you’ll need to engage in some form of cleaning afterwards. To tackle this, sponge down the area with cold water and detergent. Rinse afterwards and then blot it with a towel to remove the excess moisture. Any dry stains can be brushed away with a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) and vacuumed. Another option can be vinegar or enzyme cleaner.
Car Seat: Listen up backseat lover. First step is the trusty soap and water, second step is a lemon and baking soda mix. An enzyme cleaner can also work and if you’ve got the gear, a steam cleaner will also do wonders.
Australia Has Reached A New Milestone For Instagram
Instagram is continuing to flex its muscles in Australia with today’s announcement that it has 9 million active users here. That’s about 40% of the country’s population.
Australians are using the platform to connect with friends and family as well as business brands.
“We’re thrilled that the Instagram community in Australia has grown to nine million monthly actives,” says Will Easton, Facebook managing director Australia and New Zealand.
This growing popularity of the social media platform has allowed a many Australian businesses to flourish (including ours). Facebook purchased Instagram back in 2012 for $1B, a time when the photo-sharing app boasted 30 million users. Today it has over 700 million users.

Who amongst us did not watch Star Trek and dream of the day we could have our own Holodeck adventures? Though holographic technology has long been a staple of science fiction and superhero stories, our real-life capabilities have been sadly lacking. That is, until now.
Australian company Euclideon has developed the world’s first multi-user hologram table that allows up to four people to interact with the projected images simultaneously. The Hologram Table uses an algorithm called Unlimited Detail and motion-tracking glasses to create 3D images without the need for clunky AR headgear.
Unlimited Detail created quite a stir in the gaming community when it was first showcased in 2011. The UD engine is capable of rendering gigantic visual spaces in minute detail – for example, letting a user navigate a digital model of city with the ability to zoom down to a single blade of grass. Users can also pick up objects and move them around, or prepare holographic presentations to convey ideas.
Euclideon’s glasses track the position of your eyes and create a custom image for each. Microchips embedded in the glasses record the location of what the user is viewing, allowing the exact projection of light to be calculated and emitted. Using frequency separation crystal films in both the table surface and the glasses, up to eight separate images can be parsed from what looks to the naked eye like a jumble of coloured light.
One model has been created thus far, a 1.5 x 1.5-m prototype that has secured the company enough capital to go into production. Euclideon estimates that the full-scale production version will be available as early as February 2018, with a price tag of around AU$60,000 (US$47,000).
While you patiently await the ship date of the newest must-have man cave accessory, take a look at what the Hologram Table has in store in the video above.

In the fast-paced 24/7 world we live in, it can be tricky to find even five minutes to take a breath and focus on yourself.

There’s always an email or a text or a social media alert to draw our attention away. Happily, if you can find the time to take a breather, there is a growing number of apps designed to help you boost your mood, alleviate stress and improve your mental health.
While these apps shouldn’t replace professional help for those who need it, they can be used alongside professional support services or as a handy aid to keep in your toolbox.
MoodKit
MoodKit is a comprehensive app featuring four integrated tools that allow its users to take charge of their moods and thus develop a healthy mental outlook. The first tool draws upon Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) techniques to provide its users with more than 200 customisable activities that help to improve your mood.
Another tool is a Thought Checker, which teaches you tips for managing your mood. A mood tracker will show you patterns and progress, while a journal allows you take notes. All up, if you find yourself needing a boost, MoodKit is one of the more thorough tools out there.
Lantern
If you’re looking for very specific, guided help, Lantern might be the right app for you. When you sign up with Lantern, you’ll take a quiz to determine what you want to work on in your life.
Then, you’ll be matched with a professional coach and assigned a series of exercises. The activities are designed to be completed daily, and they’re auto-guided. While you work through your exercises, you can also rest easy knowing that your personal coach is just a few texts away.
Deep Sleep
It’s no secret that a lack of quality sleep can have an immense effect on your mood and mental well-being. The Deep Sleep app aims to nip any sleep problems in the bud by offering users a guided meditation. The app features settings that you can adjust to find the right meditation for your personal sleep routine.
For example, you might want the meditation to play once, or you might want it to repeat over throughout the night. There’s also an option that allows the app to notify you to take mindful moments throughout your day.
Happify
Happify works on the theory that even if you apply just a few minutes per day to your happiness, you can see significant results within a matter of days. Happify provides its users with activities and games that draw on positive psychology, mindfulness and CBT techniques.
According to Happify, 86 per cent of frequent users find their happiness has increased within two months of starting out with the app. You can use the app anytime and anywhere, as it is available on computers as well as mobile devices.
Simple Habit
Simple Habit is a great little meditation and mindfulness app for those on-the-go. No matter how much time you have, no matter where you are, there is sure to be a meditation for you. For example, if you’re commuting on the bus, there is a special meditation that helps you be mindful, despite the noise and chaos around you.
If you’ve just arrived home after a long day, there’s a meditation for that scenario. And the icing on top of it all? The app was created by a team of Harvard psychologists and meditation experts, so you know you’re in good hands.
Flowy
If you suffer from panic attacks, Flowy is an excellent app to have on hand when you need something right here, right now. The app was created by Simon Fox, who had experienced panic attacks himself. Simon knows that when you’re in the throes of an attack, you don’t have time for details, so Flowy is super simple.
You are essentially playing a game – your aim is to help Aegir, the god of the sea, repair his boat – but you’ll be using breathing techniques to play. According to Flowy, after just 90 seconds, you will feel more relaxed.
Start
If you suffer from depression, you may find it helpful to download Start. This useful app was created by the founders of Iodine, a website that allows its user to share their experiences with different medications. Start, however, is focused solely on those with depression.
It allows its users to keep track of their depression symptoms and manage any related medications. Because it can take a while for antidepressants to take effect, the app helps you to track any side effects and how you’re feeling, which helps create a whole picture. Ideally, you’ll share your results with the medical professionals treating you.

Travel hacking is the most effective way to see the world on a budget, but we don’t all have time to dedicate to earning miles, racking up credit card points, and scouring the Web for deals. For the rest of us, there’s Offpeak.io, a new service that aims to help travellers avoid peak tourist times and the costly hotel rates that come with them.
Offpeak.io uses a sleek, easily digestible visualisation to display median hotel prices on every day of the year for some of the world’s most desirable travel destinations – 111 cities so far, with plans to add more in the near future.
“Hotels operate with surge pricing similar to Uber and Lyft,” Offpeak co-founder Eric Adleman explained to Thrillist. “During high demand days, they raise the prices and on low demand days they lower them.”
By looking at the fluctuations of the data on Offpeak, it’s easy to identify the least popular – and therefore least expensive – times to travel. Steer clear of the peaks, book in the troughs, and you’re well on your way to a thrifty dream holiday that isn’t crowded with tourists weilding selfie sticks.
“The inspiration for Offpeak.io arose when I noticed drastic differences in hotel rates day by day,” Adleman told Thrillist. “It amazed me that the same hotel room went for $100 dollars on one night, and for $400 dollars on another. Of course, one would expect rates to be high on New Year’s Eve and low during the cold winter, but they differ significantly on many more days than that.”
A city-wide event could also drive up the cost of nightly accommodations. Don’t expect budget rooms in the midst of a massive music festival, a tech conference in Silicon Valley, or the World Taxidermy & Fish Carving Championships (yes, it’s a thing). Offpeak.io identifies when major events are taking place in the destination of your choice, and even provides local weather data so you can decide if you’re really as up for winter in Siberia as you think you are. (Pack layers.)
The tool is still in beta at the moment, so don’t be surprised to run into a bug or two, but it’s a worthy bookmark in case you suddenly find yourself in need of a cheap week away.

In a year filled with fidget spinners and a numpty for a President, we can finally assume that 2017 has reached peak self-deprecation with the arrival of a luxury vegan condom.

HANX is the UK company behind the latest premium condom made specifically for women to feel good carrying around. More importantly, it’s the first condom to be born from today’s savvy Instagram generation which relies on curated flatlays, totes lit motivational quotes and celebritism to move product.
RELATED: 7 Of The World’s Best Red Light Districts
According to HANX, the condoms are “beautifully designed in matte foil packaging presented in a discreet white box, which is slim enough to tuck into your bag or purse”. Falling in line with today’s most fastidious trend setters/followers, the condoms are also 100% natural and made from fairtrade latex.
The brand was founded by gynaecologist Sarah Welsh and investment banker Farah Kabir who wanted to eradicate the “common embarrassment surrounding condom purchase” whilst also curbing the increase in STIs amongst sexually active vegans couples.
RELATED: 10 Aphrodisiac Foods To Get You Ready For Sexy Times
The focus does however fall more on females with Welsh explaining that she wanted to make it the norm for both men and women to carry condoms. This unique idea was reinforced from a UK survey conducted by the brand which found that 73% of women would be more likely to buy condoms if they were discreet.
She added that “HANX is a lifestyle brand that is changing behaviours and ultimately creating a movement among both women and men. We are disrupting the condom industry as we know it.”
A box of three HANX condoms will go for £6 (AU$10) and is currently available via the website. Their Instagram page meanwhile has amassed just over 1,000 followers in a week.
As for the whole vegan thing…we suppose you can have your sex and eat it too.

Redemption comes in big packages and this is certainly the case for Samsung‘s latest Galaxy Note8 which was officially unveiled today.
Rather than boring you with all the technical jargon and flowery language which you can easily find elsewhere, we’re just going to give you an easy rundown of the features you’ll actually care about and use (R.I.P digital colouring in book).
Specs
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone is all about the processing power and a bloody huge screen.
It packs 6GB RAM, a 10nm processor, and expandable memory up to 256GB. That’s enough to stow away a serious number of high-res images and HD videos. It also means you can browse, stream, play games, and multitask all at once – if your service provider is up for the task. The screen itself is a vivid 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display.
On the camera front Samsung have gone all out with twin 12MP rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilisation. Why on Earth does anyone need two cameras? Image quality, my friend.
Each rear camera takes its own photo of the same subject to pick up specific details. These two images are then combined into a single high quality image filled with clarity and decent depth of field.
Design
There’s a host of new design features worthy of mentioning on the new Note8.
Water & Dust Resistance: The Note8 is water and dust resistance with an IP68 rating which covers the device and stylus pen. That means you can take photos and write e-mails under the water. Rather handy if you find yourself tied to a sinking mafia boat.
Fast Wireless Charging: It has the now mandatory wireless charging which juices your Note8 very quickly – a feature Apple has been a bit slow to pick up.
Security: You can lock/unlock the Note8 by using its fingerprint or eye scanner – yes, like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. Except your mission is figuring out taco night with the boys.
Price
Samsung Australia will begin their local pre-orders for the Galaxy Note8 from the 25th of August 2017. It will be available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold from 22 September 2017 but we suggest waiting it out a bit if you want a different colour like Orchid Grey or Deep Sea Blue.
The Galaxy Note8 will set users back AU$1,499. Not the cheapest smartphone out there but it does pack a lot of poke.

Elon Musk has wasted no time in showing off the latest version of the SpaceX spacesuit which will fulfil the company’s vast aerospace commitments.
In his latest Instagram post, Musk emphasised that the suit “actually works” and isn’t a mockup. “Already tested to double vacuum pressure,” he said. “Was incredibly hard to balance esthetics and function. Easy to do either separately.”
Not much else is known about the futuristic suit except that it can potentially aid in sending a human colony to Mars – a major goal which Musk has previously outlined for SpaceX.
A closer look at the suit reveals a slimmed down white garment featuring solid grey colour blocking and the American flag on the shoulder pad.
It certainly looks cool but most importantly it’s a far cry from the earlier space suits employed by criminal masterminds.
