Eleven secret herbs and spices is all it takes to make KFC’s famous fried chicken and its exact combination is something that has inspired countless internet forums to try and work out. But it turns out all you need is a bit of Gucci to emulate the creator of KFC, Colonel Sanders.
We wouldn’t have pictured Shia LaBeouf attempting a look like the Colonel, but that is what he did at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of his movie Honey Boy. The film, written by Shia, is based on his childhood and relationship with his father, who Shia also plays in the film. The film is generating plenty of conversation in critical circles, however, we can’t stop talking about the bold cream look he wore on the runway.
Shai wore a simple white t-shirt which drew more attention to his double-breasted cream Givenchy suit, which usually we’d argue is a little long in the fit, but something about it works. It looks fresh and unique and is perfectly matched to the cream pants, the only thing missing up the top was a silk-grosgrain silk bowtie. Maybe even Shia recognised that rocking the bowtie would have made him way too similar to the famous Colonel.

The short 5’7″ actor also chose the Gucci loafers no doubt to give himself some height. The heeled loafers with horse bit clasp with the Gucci signature green and red-strip detail gave the actor some further height without being a larger heel. The heel trend for men seems to be gaining popularity after years spent on the runway and red carpet and now celebrities like Timothée Chalamet, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes and Harry Styles are getting in on the action.
It was the second Gucci suit worn by the actor to promote his latest film. He was previously seen at the Honey Boy premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in a Gucci midnight-navy suit paired with a Gucci red and green rugby shirt. Personally we prefer him emulating Colonel Sanders than a boarding school student at a rugby award night.

It’s a more upscale look for Shia, one that has been years in the making. Who could forget the infamous paper bag outfit he wore to the premiere of Nymphomaniac at the Berlin Film Festival. It seems that 2019 could be the year for the former child actor, who not only has Honey Boy out but also The Peanut Butter Falcon & another film, The Tax Collector on the way.
We will have to wait to see what Gucci outfits he wears to the other premieres.

One thing you probably never think about when buying a t-shirt is the thickness or weight of the fabric and to be honest you'd be forgiven for overlooking this. Not many people look below the surface level when shopping for t-shirts but on closer examination, these smaller details can significantly...

We all know that working out and pushing yourself to your physical limits takes a toll on your body. It may mean you can’t walk the two flights of stairs to your office or it could leave you unable to open that jar in the kitchen, physical exhaustion is an expected side effect of working out. Apparently, though it is not the only side effect, and this one may hit you where it hurts.Research undertaken in Europe found that there is a link between physical exhaustion and making poor financial choices. The UK and French researchers asked athletes to over-exercise and then scanned their brains and found that the exhausted athletes acted more impulsively when it came to financial decisions. So they would go for the instant gratification over longer-term but bigger rewards in economic tasks. Think buying a shirt that looks cool over saving for a house deposit or eating out for lunch rather than meal prepping. The study was done exclusively on males and those that overtrained only had to increase their training by 40% to see symptoms of overtraining. The study found that alongside more fatigue, which is to be expected, the brain of athletes who had been physically overloaded showed diminished control of their economic decisions. Your brain is a muscle like anything else and if you’re physically exhausted you are going to make bad decisions.

Some of the athletes even showed symptoms of Overtraining Syndrome, which can shut down more than just your muscles and brain temporarily. Fortunately, exercise scientist David Lawrence said it was unlikely that everyday people would be diagnosed with the syndrome that was usually reserved for ultra-marathon runners.
“Overtraining syndrome is more prevalent in sports such as ultra-marathons or Ironman triathlons. However, people of all backgrounds who are undertaking an intense training schedule and under-emphasising their recovery can certainly experience some of the same negative physiological responses.”
Unfortunately for both your training and your wallet, knowing when you’re overtraining is not an exact science and will vary from person to person. So protecting your gains may be hard, but is protecting your wallet any easier? According to financial advisor Jessica Brady the simple answer is no but you can use some basic fitness principals to help you.
“If you say you just want to save money but you don’t have anything specific to work towards its unlikely you will be as successful as when you have something you are really committed to, have you ever wondered why you are so good at saving for that upcoming trip?”
In fitness failing to plan is planning to fail and every gym coach will tell you to have small but specific goals as opposed to “Look good naked”. The same can be applied to your money & just like in fitness you have to work towards your goals. At the gym, you go in with a program so you know what you’re doing each day to work towards a goal and Jess says you should do the same with your money.
“Really imagine what it would be like to achieve your goal, what would it mean to you in terms of how you live and feel? Remember that, the stronger you are connected to that life you want, the easier it will be to say no to things that are slowing you down from achieving it.”
So the rules of getting the most out of the gym also apply to getting the most out of your money. Go figure.

Affairs. Mortgages. Ill-considered Ferraris. Death. Taxes. Life is full of inevitabilities and – for most men – hair loss is unfortunately among them.Case in point: Lewis Hamilton. Although he is a five-time Formula One champion – who has nailed the worlds of sport, career, family, friends and romance – the legend has always struggled to come out on top in a personal battle with his ever-receding hairline. The British racing driver puts this down to using “hotel soap” as shampoo and generally just not looking after his hair when on the road in his younger years.More recently, however, we’ve seen the triumphant return of follicular matter. And while the champ has not admitted to surgical implants, (he claims it has grown thicker naturally, as he has started taking better care of it), we have always had ~suspicions~.
View this post on Instagram
Our misgivings came to a head when Lewis started growing dreadlocks that put Snoop Dog to shame. Unable to bear the curiosity (and the jealous sensation we got when comparing Lewis’ locks to our own) we asked hair transplant expert James Nadin of The Crown Clinic in Sydney exactly how accurate our cynicism really is.
View this post on Instagram
Here’s what he had to say: “I doubt very much he could have got it grown like that with PRP [hair growth injections]. The before and after photos certainly suggest he has had a [full on] transplant.”As for the ‘soap’ story? “Ridiculous,” James told us. And – although no-one but Hamilton can confirm this – “It would certainly appear from the photos that he’s had a hair transplant.. and a good one as well.”That said, there’s no reason to get hysterical. In fact, according to hair transplant expert James (and we agree), there’s no reason Hamilton should be ashamed.
“He’s the king of the world and he should just own it. He looks great.”
Now for the hard-hitting stuff: will it last?
View this post on Instagram
“[Unlike many other treatments], hair transplants are permanent,” James told us.
“It will grow for the rest of his life.”
And even though Hamilton is growing dreadlocks, which you might think could stress his new hair out, James says this is nothing to worry about.
“The existing hair that he still had on his head when he got the transplant might go in time… but once the [new] hair grows it’s robust as anything – and you do what you want with it.”
In other words: unless you overtie your man bun every day for 20 years (and even then) it’s unlikely you will lose your hair unless you are genetically predisposed to do so.Capische?

There is no worse exercise feeling than plateauing. After all: what is the point in the hours spent at the gym, the protein consumed and the sweat running down your face if you’re not getting results? Unfortunately, this experience is all too real for many fitness addicts.
Fitness coach Ben Howard found that as a new lifter progress was quick, despite a lack of knowledge or structure but as you keep continuing it gets harder. Progress slows, almost to a crawl as the same weights feel heavier, or the scales don’t move or perhaps most telling of all you don’t see any visual changes.
It’s a fairly common problem and one that is made only more confusing by the potential amount of reasons that could be causing it. It could be from training too much, or not enough, eating too much, or not enough and you get the idea. What it often comes down to is becoming accustomed to the stresses you place on your body during training.
There is, of course, the flipside explains Howard and that is changing programs and diets too quickly to avoid plateauing. Too often gym-goers fall for the traps of ‘New’ workouts that will improve muscle mass or get you shredded and don’t give their current program enough time to have the effects. There’s a reason why the programs you get from your PT or online are a minimum of six weeks, often lasting much longer. In fact, Sustainable Trainer recommends 12 weeks as a minimum if results are the true goal but many programs are between 6-10 weeks in their duration.
So how do you bust out of a plateau? A simple diagram by Instagram account Diet & Exercises suggests its as simple as eating more protein, changing your reps, training select body parts more often and never giving up. The reality is naturally a little more complicated, fitness can never just be easy, can it.
This may seem to fly in the face of your workout goals but take a break, take an entire week off. Rest, refuel and just take the time off that you need before diving back in. When you do dive right back in consider adding some variety to your workouts suggests personal trainer Joey Vailancourt who offers up a few different training techniques to get back into it.
- Post-Failure Overloading Method: Once you hit failures on your reps, place the weight down, rest for 30 seconds and then try to bang out a few more reps. It may only be a couple but it tricks the body into doing a bit more work.
- Drop Sets: Drop weights after reaching failure on your last set of exercises and continue with a few more reps.
- ‘New School Superset’: Create a superset with two different exercises of no more than 12 reps combined, either activate same muscle groups in both or chose two opposing groups
- Change your rep range: If you have been doing straight sets of say 4×12 then change it up, maybe make it more sets with fewer reps or the other way. But change up something to keep the body guessing.
Above all else, listen to your body and keep going. Don’t be dishearten when you don’t immediately see results, stick with the program and if you find yourself plateauing then switch it up.

Whether you don’t know how to react when your lover shrugs out of their swimmers at (the nudist) Paradise Beach or whether you simply don’t know how to approach the flirty eyes across the bar, there are a number of different situations travellers must adapt to in Greece. And – while it is always more important to treat every human interaction on its own merits, rather than making assumptions about random geographic expanses – if you want to remember your time in Greece as illustrious – rather than “the time you got rejected, sunburnt and drank alone in your room,” we have some basic advice might help make that happen. While we’re are no experts in love, we are friends with a number of dating coaches and relationship experts who have shared with us numerous tips on dating when travelling (and in general) over the years. From Chris Manak to Dr Nikki Goldstein, we have explored everything from ‘jibing‘ and ‘paperclipping‘ to why it’s better to look nervous than confident.Today we are going to take those skills and apply them to a destination that should be on every traveller’s bucket list; here are the dating rules all travellers need to know before visiting (or hooking up in) Greece.
Don’t assume you will be a novelty (but also, don’t assume you won’t be)
Although publications like Culture Trip have said, “Greeks have a thing for travellers” this is quite the generalisation. That being said, there is some truth to it. So don’t ignore the advice completely, but also don’t write it off as a possibility. In other words, feel free to play up your Aussie accent or American twang, but don’t expect a round of applause every time.
Don’t panic if your newfound beau or beau-ette spontaneously gets nude
After you hook up, if you find yourself chilling on the beach the next day with your new-found fling, don’t panic if they abruptly whip their kit off (although, to be fair, knowing you are a tourist they might pre-empt your awkwardness and not do this). They may also not be into nudism in the first place. But if they are, and they are looking to test you, if you want to put a cultured mask on your naive tourist face; don’t act shocked. This leads into a broader conversation (which we reported on in more depth earlier this year) around the freedoms Australians and Americans are denied back home, but which many of them simply can’t handle once they are there to be experienced. The main takeaway? If you end up at a beach party with more skin on show than normal, as long as your sense of discomfort stems from your uptight upbringing (rather than because you genuinely feel uncomfortable about your environs) then try to go with the flow.
Feel free to flaunt (some) expectations
As Culture Trip writes, “If you find yourself in a bar, you will see that Greek men will more spontaneously come and talk to a foreigner than they would with a Greek woman. The courtship that ensues is usually filled with compliments and praises about your accent, beauty or even your homeland.” They then add that gender roles are still quite rigid in Greece. And, again, while we understand what they are getting at, we’d also say assuming everyone is like that (or will respond badly to you cheekily going against it) would be to miss out on a lot of opportunities.
Be on your best behaviour when meeting the ‘parea’
View this post on Instagram
Usually, the first sign things are getting serious with someone in Greece is when you meet the ‘parea’ – your date’s BFFs. While this is probably not going to happen if you are on a whirlwind trip and your date plucked you from Tinder, if you are sticking around (whether that involves settling in as a digital nomad or joining the ongoing anarchist revolution) then you will want to impress your partner’s ‘parea’ (usually a mix of childhood friends, university pals and/or colleagues), whose approval is almost as important as families when it comes to having a successful relationship.
Don’t be surprised if your date is 30 and still lives with their parents
While it may be an Australian rite of passage to leave the parental nest and begin drinking the Centrelink milk as soon as you hit your second year of uni, in continental Europe it is much more common to stay at home (or to go back to living with your parents after you graduate). Whilst this comes with squeaky bed drawbacks, if you look at the life expectancies of places like Greece, Italy, France and Spain; you soon see the awkward moments you go through with your partner’s parents (and the community ~vibes~ living together engenders) are well worth it in the end.
Look for a date in oblique places
Tinder and your favourite top 40 nightclub not working? Even if you are only in Greece a short while, signing up to activities that only longer-term residents (and locals) are more likely to do can be a great way to meet people with similar interests without the pressure that comes with a dating app rendez vous. How does this fit into an etiquette guide, you may ask? Well, it would be (obliquely) rude to come to a country and only expect to find love in a club.

Floyd Mayweather is known for philandering more than philanthropy – something a recent snap of his wallet-boggling garage would appear to confirm. However, as British boxer Ashley Theophane revealed earlier this year, Floyd Mayweather, worth a cool $560 million, harbours more generosity (when it comes to Chryslers) than you might think.
“He bought me a car [a Chrysler 300, a make which starts around £32,000, plus a personalised number plate] to get around in Vegas, he does a lot for charities, his friends and his family but he just doesn’t broadcast it,” (The Sun).
While that may have been to garner publicity for his mate Chop over at Towbinauto, who commented on Mayweather’s latest garage pic, “Thank you for all the love and loyalty throughout the years Champ!!” the fact remains that Mayweather does not spend every penny he earns on strip clubs and diamond-encrusted watches (he spends a hell of a lot on cars, too).
That said, he still isn’t averse to showing off, pointing out in this latest pic that his parking lot (which contains everything from Chryslers and Rolls Royces to Bentleys), is better endowed than McGregor’s pants during their 2018 weigh-in: “My garage looking like an indoor dealership with a few light toys.”
While some fans enjoyed the vehicular display, posting worship-hand emojis and writing comments like, “Hard work pays,” others were less enamoured.
“Who really cares about your cars bruh.”
Given the frequency Mayweather posts, we doubt he cares.

Getting mobbed by fans and paparazzi every time you stepped out of a building would really suck – hence the celebrities that just brush off their fans to continue about with their day. So it makes it all the more memorable when one of them stops to sign autographs and take time out for the screaming hordes. That is exactly what Jon Hamm did when he was spotted in New York, he took the time out to sign multiple autographs before continuing about his day. The movie star was in the city at the Build Series studio to discuss his latest film Lucy in the Sky that stars Natalie Portman. Hamm stars as an astronaut in the science-fiction drama that Portman’s character has an affair with after she returns from her mission to space but it’s his fashion on the ground that is getting us talking.Last time we saw Hamm he was at the premiere for Between Two Ferns: The Movie and he was caught making a basic fashion faux pas. In fact, a brief look through our style pages suggest it’s all or nothing with Hamm, he either emulates Don Draper or he looks like the rest of us. His latest outfit is a casual look but the combination of the bomber jacket and the blue-tinted sunglasses emulate cool. The green & blue plaid shirt was the same one that he was seen wearing in the Build Series interview but styled up with a Rag & Bone reversible bomber jacket. Hamm chose not to wear the corresponding pants, which may have been a bit much instead opting for simple black jeans. The reversible bomber jacket was worn with the multicoloured puppytooth check-weave on the outside, arguably cooler than the simple black on the other side. The blue shades looked perfect on the actor despite potentially not having the desired anonymity effect and frankly the less said about the sneakers the better. The dark green shoes detract from the whole look so best to keep eyes up for this one, which is exactly what his mob of fans did.

Full credit to Hamm he stopped and took the time out to sign autographs for people, despite the unimpressed look on the handler behind him. He even at one point gave the thumbs up to the paparazzi, much better than the usual bird they get flipped. It’s his casual attitude that probably keeps people talking about him and watching out for whatever he does next and he has certainly been busy. Not only has he had his two films but he also recently starred in Amazon series Good Omens and wrapped up his role in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt earlier this year.He still has plenty of red carpets left to walk this year with roles in The Jesus Rolls and Richard Jewell but perhaps the film we are most excited to see him in is Tom Gun: Maverick. The sequel over thirty years in the making will fly into our screens soon starring Tom Cruise in the titular role again and Hamm in an as-yet-unspecified capacity. The entire film is still very hush-hush, with no plot details being given and the trailer offering a few glimpses of the stars as well as of course the fast planes. We will be keeping our eyes peeled for Hamm’s red carpet looks at these premieres, hopefully he wows us again.
