It’s not just Dembele who will go home from World Cup 2022 having learnt a very valuable lesson (don’t get beat at the corner flag and then push your rival over in the box), but also the fans.
Qatar 2022 has been a big learning experience. We’ve discovered Messi may finally have won a World Cup but he’ll still never get a decent photo with the trophy. We’ve learnt Argentina’s goalkeeper loves a hip thrust. We’ve learned Mbappe really is the second coming of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Those fans fortunate enough to travel to the World Cup also had some learning moments of their own. One fan, David Vujanic, for instance, said he will be reluctant to go back to toilet paper when he gets back to the UK.
Been using the toilet bum shower thing in qatar for a month…I am absolutely horrified we only use toilet paper in the Uk/Europe. This is the best thing ever man.
— VUJ (@DavidVujanic) December 14, 2022
“Been using the toilet bum shower thing in qatar for a month…I am absolutely horrified we only use toilet paper in the Uk/Europe. This is the best thing ever man.”
He added: “I’ve used a bidet in France, it’s decent but it’s too big, this is a simple high pressure shower head, more functional and easily adaptable. Will be investing when back in london. My bum is very thankful.”
This isn’t the only lesson tourists have learnt in Qatar. Beyond the lesson that bum guns are great, tourists also learned, apparently, how nice the people can be in Qatar, and how kind they can be to foreigners. One tourist said, when asked about their first impressions of Qatar: “For me, the people are the best.”

Another called the Qatari locals “the nicest people ever.” Yet another described them as “friendly and hospitable.”

Yet another lesson was the fact that beer isn’t easily accessible everywhere in the world. In Qatar, for instance, in some cases, you have to get used to walking – sometimes for miles – for a beer. One English fan and journalist found this out the hard way, when he walked 11km to quench his thirst for a lager.

Other lessons travellers who have been to Qatar have shared with the Internet include the fact that it’s not easy to get pork in Qatar, the work week is from Sunday until Thursday, only a small percentage of Qatar is Qatari, PDA is a risky business and giving someone the rude finger could land you in prison.

Salt Bae is getting lambasted online for his persistent efforts to get a photo with Messi during Argentina’s World Cup celebrations. Now Dan Bilzerian has jumped on the bandwagon, saying he has known Salt Bae was “weird” for years…
Dan Bilzerian has jumped on the Salt Bae take down trend, taking to Instagram to write: “Everyone talking about how weird this Salt Bae is, I been knowing that for years.”
He then showed a bunch of unrequited photos Salt Bae had sent him via direct message on Instagram over the years – and there were a lot of them. “What a fucking goofball,” Bilzerian added.
WATCH: Dan Bilzerian calls Salt Bae a ‘f*cking goofball’
In case you hadn’t heard, Salt Bae tried to get a photo with Messi after yesterday’s World Cup final. He appeared to have been shaken off twice, but ultimately got his handshake and photo.
Salt Bae was critiqued online for his actions, with one Messi fan accusing him of stealing the moment (“Shame on you to interrupt such a special Moment only because of your ill ego”) and another writing: “This guy‘s [a] tool. Messi ignored him at least 3 times.”
Some allege Salt Bae actually broke FIFA rules. The Daily Mail reports: “The infamous chef remained on the pitch among the celebrating Argentinian players and contravened FIFA’s strict rules on who may touch the World Cup trophy.”
According to The Daily Mail, FIFA has strict rules about the trophy, with their website stipulating that it “can only be touched and held by a very select group of people, which includes former winners of the Fifa World Cup and heads of state.”

The Argentinian goalkeeper has made headlines around the world for his bizarre ‘humping’ celebration after picking up the World Cup’s best goalkeeper award… But now, the notoriously cheeky star has shed some light on his motivations behind the stunt.
The 30-year-old has been responsible for one of the funniest moments of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. When receiving the Golden Glove award after Argentina’s victory over France, Martínez – in front of both FIFA and Qatari officials as well as the entire planet – put the trophy in front of his crotch, pulled a face and thrusted his hips. If you catch our drift.
His lewd act only lasted seconds, but it’s been the thrust that was felt around the world. Martínez has received equal amounts of praise and criticism for the award… And has allegedly been handed a fine by FIFA.
But the question everyone has been asking is: why? Why act like a 12-year-old boy during the most important moment of your career? Well, Martínez has broken his silence – but we can’t say we’re any less confused.
In an interview with Argentine radio station La Red, Martínez explained “I did it because the French booed me. Pride does not work with me.” Okay…?

Martínez has a bit of a reputation for this sort of thing. Indeed, just moments after receiving the Golden Glove, footage emerged of Martínez celebrating backstage with his teammates by twerking and running around without his pants on.

It’s not the first time he’s horse around with a trophy, either: he did something similar after being awarded the same trophy in the Copa America final earlier this year.
He’s not a complete tosser, though. Martínez made a point of coming over and chatting with Kylian Mbappé after the game’s conclusion, helping the French star up and joining French President Emmanuel Macron in comforting the despondent 23-year-old – a great act of sportsmanship.

Yet another gangland killing has plagued Sydney’s streets… And it looks like crime really is paying if this latest crim’s garage is anything to go by.
New South Wales Police investigators have charged a fourth man over his alleged role in the murder of notorious organised crime figure Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad in Sydney’s southwest earlier this year, a recent police press release confirms.
Police will allege in court that the 29-year-old supplied the cars used in Ahmad’s murder, the gangland figure being gunned down outside an associate’s suburban Greenacre home. Naturally, this sort of violent murder is truly heinous, and should be condemned… But it’s interesting to see what kind of cars these gangsters have in their collections.
NSW Police images from one of the four homes they raided on Wednesday in connection with this latest arrest show how one of these properties has a gargantuan car garage filled with some truly desirable cars. As you can see above, some of these hot rides include a Ferrari Testarossa, a Porsche 911, two Ford Falcon GT XYs and a rare Holden Special Vehicles VS Commodore GTS-R.
They might be crims but at least they’ve got good taste…

According to an ABC News report from October, Ahmad was shot by at least one unknown gunman driven to Greenacre in a stolen Porsche with cloned number plates. That car was then dumped and set alight, with the assailants switching to another luxury vehicle, which was also burnt out.

Ahmad was released from prison earlier this year after serving five years for the manslaughter of gangland rival Safwan Charbaji in 2016.
As well as the cars, $60,000 in cash was seized at the scene – although that sort of pocket change pales in comparison with the value of those cars, which collectively would fetch well over $2 million.

After Argentina won the World Cup 2022, Turkish restauranteur Salt Bae was spotted pestering Messi for a photo. Though he got the shot in the end, Messi doesn’t look happy. Salt Bae has been roasted like one of his famous steaks for his actions.
They say a picture explains a thousand words. But the following photo of Messi and Salt Bae doesn’t tell the whole story of their interaction (although it may explain why the Argentina team ended up eating chicken parmas in the wake of their World Cup win, rather than going out to some fancy steak house).
Perhaps explaining why Messi looks slightly reluctant in the above image, is a video showing Salt Bae chasing after Messi, as one Instagram user puts like “like a jealous girlfriend,” grabbing his arm multiple times in an attempt to coe-erce him into a picture. Messi isn’t having a bar of it though, intent on celebrating the special moment with his team.

Salt Bae appears to have got Messi’s attention in the end, culminating in the awkward photo. He was duly roasted online for his actions, with comments like: “Dude we all saw the video” rolling in.
Another wrote: “Watch the whole video! Messi completely ignoring the Butcher!”

More festive jesting (and seriously aggrieved shitposting) included: “Messi’s so humble agreeing to have a photo with someone he has no fkn clue who he is” and “Mega Clown…we all saw the video…begging Messi for a pic….you would do anything for a bit of clout…”

It didn’t end there. More comments savaging Salt Bae included: “The videos just come out of him trying to get this pic and its embarrassing, messi had no interest” and “This guy‘s [a] tool. Messi ignored him at least 3 times.”
Two more comments from Messi fanboys included: “He was unhappy to take the picture with you ‘ this was shown by the video you deleted minutes ago … sorry” and “Shame on you to interrupt such a special Moment only because of your ill ego.”

We Australians love our four-wheel drives. Australia’s a big place: distances between major urban centres are huge, and road surfaces vary wildly throughout the country. Of course, we also love road trips and off-roading – making four-wheel drive vehicles a virtual necessity for many Aussies.
4WDing has always been popular but the last three years during the COVID-19 pandemic have seen a huge increase in interest in 4x4s, road trip holidays and off-roading. With overseas travel off the cards for many of us during COVID, Aussies have instead invested the money and time they’d otherwise have spent on overseas trips on buying or upgrading their cars.
Performance bits, van conversions and of course, off-road modifications are being seen more and more often on Australian roads. It’s never been easier to purchase and install 4WD mods, accessories and gear – but with so much on the market, it can be hard to find a good deal (or find products that are tough enough to withstand Australian conditions).
Never fear: we’ve rounded up a shortlist of must-have 4WD accessories that you shouldn’t leave home for a great Aussie road trip without. These are the best 4WD accessories for your car in Australia.

After winning the World Cup, Argentina players sat down for a romantic dinner with the World Cup trophy. During the dinner, Paulo Dybala took a video, accidentally exposing the players opposite him for being on their phones.
Argentina have done it. But while everyone gets red in the face about Messi wearing a cloak, Mbappe doing Mbappe things and Emi Martinez getting frisky with his golden glove, some concerned citizens fear Argentina’s post-match celebrations have not been rowdy enough.
Enter: a video posted in the wake of the win by Paulo Dybala. Dybala posted a cheeky video of a “romantic dinner” with the World Cup trophy, which showed the team sitting in a circle with the trophy in the middle, and Dybala tucking into a plate of chicken parmi and chips.

Eagle-eyed Instagram users couldn’t let this video remain a purely happy moment, however, and spotted a group of players opposite him (including Lautaro Martinez) looking down at their phones. Oh, the shame.
Instagram user @amir1abd commented, to the tune of 124 likes, “Everyone checking their instagrams.” Instagram user @jan.byrs, for their part, wrote: “Everybody on their phones.” This comment got 35 likes.
Another social media cynic wrote: “They’re all on their phones liking pictures they are in with the trophy when it’s five feet from them lol.”
Never mind the fact we wouldn’t have this on-the-ground footage if it wasn’t for the players checking their phones…
In a ray of light for those that value partying over technology, for the rampant troglodytes, one Instagram user claimed: “They have a lot more people to celebrate who are not in Qatar, they were partying for hours.”
If the scenes in Buenos Aires (before the game had even started) were anything to go by, we can only imagine things will get rowdier from here.

After winning the World Cup, you need to rest, rehydrate, and eat a carefully balanced meal pored over by a nutritionist, right? Not if you’re Argentina. If you’re a member of Los Albicelestes, you make like you’re in an RSL and have yourself a chicken parmi…
Argentina players are celebrating their World Cup win against France with a romantic dinner date with the World Cup trophy. Footage of this romantic date with destiny (or rather, a plate of cheesy poultry) was posted to Instagram by Paulo Dybala.

Dybala captioned the clip “romantic dinner,” including a love heart emoji for good measure. He showed off his plate of chicken parmi and chips, and then showed viewers the World Cup sitting in the middle of the circle of players eating.

It remains unknown if this chicken parmi was part of a dietician’s approved plan. But either way: we’re sure they deserve it.

As Messi celebrates leading Argentina to victory at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, fans are livid we haven’t had many good photos of him lifting the trophy, after Qatar’s “brazen act of self-indulgence” in which they draped him in a cape, and after a teammate popped up in the background as Messi celebrated on the field with his squad.
A completely innocent celebration by Lautaro Martínez has irritated fans, as the Serie A striker accidentally “ruined” a photo of Messi celebrating Argentina’s World Cup win, according to some fans.
The photo, taken as hordes of players went bonkers on the field, after Argentina won the World Cup final on penalties, showed Messi on Kun Agüero’s shoulders, lifting the World Cup trophy up high.
It also featured teammate Lautaro Martínez in the background, on someone else’s shoulders (perhaps even two people’s), sitting even higher in the frame than Messi.
Though we reckon this only adds to the ambience, some Sport Bible fans are complaining that Martinez took away from what could have been a classic photo.
Instagram user @gen.bond3, to the tune of 1,087 likes, wrote: “Martinez ruined that photo.”
This comes alongside complaints from other Messi fans that they didn’t get to see the iconic shot they had in their mind’s eye of Messi lifting the trophy after being presented with it, after Qatari Emir Tamim handed him a bisht (a kind of see-through black cloak) and FIFA president Gianni Infantino encouraged him to wear it.
Something a little strange about Messi being dressed in Bisht, that black cloak that the emir of Qatar dressed him in before lifting the World Cup. Qatar wants this to be its moment as much as it is Messi’s and Argentina’s. pic.twitter.com/S4Jk6zGRZv
— tariq panja (@tariqpanja) December 18, 2022
This kind of cloak is often found in the Middle East, not just in Qatar but in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Messi later took the bisht off in the wild celebrations, but he wore it to lift the trophy. As Optus reports, a bisht is “something that dignitaries wear over a thawb on very formal occasions.” Optus also described the moment as surreal, painting the scene as follows: “Even in this moment, the highlight of Messi’s career, Qatar forced themselves into the centre of the image, an act of brazen self-indulgence that we have witnessed more and more as the tournament progressed.”
“Or maybe it was a touching gift for Messi, a show of respect,” (Optus).
RELATED: Argentinian Reporter Wins The World Cup Without Stepping On The Pitch
It’s all swings and roundabouts really though. We’re sure what Messi cares about most is winning the World Cup – not that his teammate accidentally photobombed him, or that he didn’t get the exact celebration shot some fans wanted.
Messi also dropped a bombshell in his post match interview. Though many fans wanted him to retire on the highest of highs he said: “I am not retiring from the Argentina national team. I want to continue playing as a champion.”
Class.
