Qantas Finds Way To Guilt You Into Treating Your Partner To First Class Delights
Qantas Finds Way To Guilt You Into Treating Your Partner To First Class Delights

You may love your partner but when there’s only one Moët-land upgrade available it can be tempting to abandon them to Economy. And – in the past – while you may have been able to justify this with some vague mentions of “add ons” and “frequent flyer points” and claiming “work to do” Qantas has now found a way to guilt you into sharing (at least some of) your Pointy End delights.

In a new video on their Youtube channel, Qantas details the juicy new Platinum One benefits on offer from what News.com.au have dubbed the “exclusive new club pretty much none of us will ever get into.” So, what exactly is it?

Platinum One status is reserved for Qantas’ most frequent of flyers (those that hit the milestone of 75,000 status credits). To achieve this one would need to fly Economy from Sydney to Los Angeles about 833 times (each trip earns you about 90 status credits). A tough goal, sure. But the rewards truly are exceptional.

Those privileges, which you can see in the above video, now include a complimentary Platinum membership for a family member or friend (read: VIP treatment, even when they travel without you), two complimentary First Lounge invitations for any extra guests, highest priority access to Classic Flight Rewards and the ability to earn up to 175,000 bonus Qantas Points each year.

“As our way of saying ‘thank you’ for your loyalty and in recognition of your ongoing commitment to Qantas, we’re pleased to introduce some additional benefits to make Platinum One membership even more rewarding,” Qantas said in a recent release.

“As a Platinum One member, we understand you’re often away from home so we’re also introducing benefits for those close to you,” Qantas added.

“You now have the opportunity to invite your Partner* to become a Platinum member and enjoy benefits including access to the Qantas International First Lounges and Domestic Business Lounges and 100% Status Bonus points earn when flying Qantas and Jetstar.”

Not bad. Now all you need to do is (assuming you’ve already earnt 75,000 status credits) decide if you’re giving that complimentary platinum membership to your partner or your best mate.

TAG Heuer Releases Best Looking Monaco 50th Anniversary Edition Yet
TAG Heuer Releases Best Looking Monaco 50th Anniversary Edition Yet

The Tag Heuer Monaco sage continues with the unveiling of the fourth of five limited edition pieces, and we think it’s the most aesthetically pleasing one yet. The latest model was unveiled at the Tokyo National Museum in Japan in the presence of heritage director Catherine Eberlé-Devaux and flanked by a gallery of heritage pieces and the previous three editions of the TAG Heuer Monaco anniversary collection.

The latest piece has been inspired by the early 2000s following the earlier editions that were inspired by the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The limited-edition models have been designed to capture the design spirit of each decade since the launch of the original in 1969. The fourth piece has a timeless black and white appearance with subtle splashes of red and orange on the hour markers and hands.

The stainless steel watch face comes on a black calfskin strap with crisp white stitching and with pushers on the right-hand side of the case, with the crown on the left. This unconventional feature has distinguished the Monaco for over 50 years as has the renowned Calibre 11, which the new limited edition features with a modern version of the automatic-winding chronograph movement that debuted with the original.

Only 169 pieces have been made of the watch which even features its inclusivity on an engravement on the back that says “One of 169”. Watch aficionado will be eagerly awaiting the very last Monaco limited edition that will be released at some point before the end of the year.

Mobility Coach Reveals The Painful Truth About Arching Your Back When Bench Pressing
Mobility Coach Reveals The Painful Truth About Arching Your Back When Bench Pressing

‘No pain, no gain,’ may have propelled the Spartans and Vikings into the annals of history, but for the rest of us, it is a poor substitute for the latest in science and fitness. This in mind: what is the correct way to bench press, for optimum results?

A recent piece of advice from Peter O Reilly, a mobility specialist (and Instagram fitness coach with 110k followers), suggests we shouldn’t be too quick to sacrifice bench press form just to lift more (or look more tough).

Answering the controversial question of whether you should arch your back when you bench press, O Reilly recently took to Instagram to clarify a question that has bamboozled gym warriors since time immemorial.

A post shared by Peter O Reilly FRCms P.T. 🇮🇪 (@p.t.pete) on

In the post, O Reilly compares the bench press form of the ‘powerlifter’ arch to the ‘natural’ arch, explaining how the former (more extreme) iteration is used by competitive lifters because it decreases the distance the bar has to travel to get to their chest.

“This is great for powerlifters because it allows them to increase the amount of weight they can push while abiding by the rules and regulations of powerlifting, which is keeping your ass on the bench and bringing the bar down to your chest.”

Problem is, although it’s tempting to copy those lifting significantly more than you, O Reilly says “this may not be the ideal” for the average lifter.

“There isn’t much research evidence saying that the ‘powerlifting’ arch is good nor bad, but it is unnecessary for the average person.”

“The upside is that you will be able to lift heavier weights, but the downside is that you won’t be taking your muscles through a greater range of motion,” O Reilly adds.

So – unless you’re a powerlifter competing in a competition – it may not be worth the risk of using an arch which is excessive and holds increased potential of injury.

As for the natural arch (the one that comes with just setting up for your bench press), according to O Reilly, “This means retracting and depressing your shoulders and maintaining that throughout the motion.”

“This will naturally create an arch in your spine which is good enough to have your shoulders in a better position for benching.”

All up, the main point O Reilly makes is this: “I’m not saying the average lifter can’t utilize the powerlifting arch, but I would not use it to an excessive degree.”

In other words: don’t go crazy with the back arch, especially if you’re not an advanced lifter. Instead, keep it as a carefully used tool (preferably under PT supervision) to help you lift heavier weights and get you past plateaus.

So there you have it. The wisdom of perfecting your bench press form.

High-Class Call Girl Samantha X Reveals Why You’re More Likely To Open Up To An Escort Than Your Partner
High-Class Call Girl Samantha X Reveals Why You’re More Likely To Open Up To An Escort Than Your Partner

We’d all like our relationship to be as (emotionally) open as a polygamous Anytime Fitness. In reality, however, this is not often the case, with even the most loved-up among us finding it difficult to be 100% honest about every single little jealous (or covetous) feeling that flicks through us.

To some degree this is natural. But if you let the Wall Of Silence build up for too long, you start to get communication issues, which can lead to confusion, resentment and ‘bedroom’ issues.

Enter: Samantha X, Australia’s most renowned high-end escort, who believes men are seeking ‘outside help’ not for the sex, but for the emotional connection. “Clients tend to seek emotional connection more than anything else,” she told us. “Sex is sex is sex.”

“You can get $50 handjobs, call an ex or fuck buddy, or DIY in the shower. But the clients I attract are after something far deeper, more so on a spiritual level.”

“Most of my appointments are at least a couple of hours,” she said, asking: “What man can have sex for longer than 15 minutes, really? They want the whole experience – the conversation, the feeling of being validated, the feeling of being heard.”

“Men are far more sensitive than women think and have just as many needs as women do, they just don’t talk about it,” Samantha added.

Ironically, this goes against (or perhaps, can be explained by) society’s stereotyping of men as strong and silent and women as talkative and emotional: “As women, we are supposed to be maternal, crave affection and emotional connection way more than men. [However] the women I know have all their needs met by kids, pets, good girlfriends, a support network, and a busy career.”

“They’re single mums who quite honestly want a good shag now and then; and then want him to go home afterwards. I don’t know many women looking for love, but I know plenty of men looking for Miss Right.”

The conclusion? Men need to work on not feeling ashamed or embarrassed of having emotional needs: “It’s not weak, or less manly if they need to talk. I see so many men struggle to open up, when I know they are desperate to, but they don’t want to come across as whinging or boring or pathetic.”

“It doesn’t matter how silly you think you’re going to sound, you have to express your feelings, name them and deal with them. So many men refuse to see counsellors for fear of ‘being judged’ yet they’re quite happy to talk to a woman in her lingerie!”

While it’s tempting to end this piece with: ‘your lingerie awaits,’ we’ll leave that to you…

Cole Sprouse Rocks Wall Street Power Suit That Gordon Gekko Would Kill For
Cole Sprouse Rocks Wall Street Power Suit That Gordon Gekko Would Kill For

Growing up in the public eye must be bizarre. One minute you’re the son of Ross in Friends and the next you’re a bikie gang leader in a comic book TV show. Fortunately, his style outside of the Archie universe is fewer leather jackets and more high-class fashion.Cole Sprouse, one-half of the Sprouse twins, was recently a guest at the Thom Browne‘s Women’s Spring 2020 show in Paris. The actor was in the front row at the event wearing his own Thom Browne number from head to toe that had us desperately refreshing the Thom Browne website to see when it will be online. The black pinstripe suit has a very Wolf of Wall Street vibe to it and wouldn’t be out of place in the financial districts of New York or indeed London. However, the way Cole wears it, with black boots featuring the classic Thom Browne coloured buckle and open shirt, sends out a more relaxed vibe. The vertical stripes together give the actor a taller feel and the red and white colour on the shirt cuffs give an element of fun to the suit. The pinstripe Thom Browne is a popular suit choice amongst Hollywood stars, with fellow actor Timothée Chalamet wearing last season’s pinstripe suit for the premiere of his film Call Me By Your Name. Unfortunately, we may be waiting a while for the newest version to be available, which is characterised by fewer stripes on the jacket with more space between them.https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Ap60TAuk5/The look suited Cole who has become just as known for his fashion choices as he has for his rockabilly inspired hair. The naturally blonde star dyed his hair darker for his role as Jughead Jones in TVs Riverdale and its a look that works when both styled and when allowed to relax. It’s almost a shame that the star didn’t get the role in the new Elvis Presley biopic considering his hair has him looking the part. The star has plenty to keep him busy though, not only is Riverdale renewed for a fourth season but the actor has just released his new drama Five Feet Apart with more roles on the way.

Pointy End Passenger Reveals Most Shameful Way To Get Kicked Off A Flight
Pointy End Passenger Reveals Most Shameful Way To Get Kicked Off A Flight

Lie-flat hopefuls have tried to bat their eyes to an upgrade ever since the beginning of air travel. But – as one alleged influencer just revealed – some attempts to score a business-class seat are more effective than others.

On that note: being denied an upgrade sucks, but being kicked off your flight just for asking for one is not only humiliating; it’s unheard of. And while the less-brazen citizens of the world may see this scenario as so unlikely as to be impossible, the influencer of the hour has just proved it is not.

As travel advice agency Elliott Advocacy reported earlier this week, a small-time influencer recently had her upgrade request denied by Cathay Pacific check-in agents, and was then kicked her off the flight, accused of fraud and banned from all future Cathay Pacific flights.

Although the influencer claims she did nothing wrong, the severity of Cathay Pacific’s response suggests she was up to something shady. Here’s how it went down.

A post shared by Lex / Mr. Gumbatron ☕ (@mrgumbatron) on

As reported by The Sun, the alleged influencer, “claims she was sent an email which allowed her an upgrade from premium economy [to business],” after she emailed Cathay Pacific asking for an upgrade on her return Taiwan to New York ticket.

After this, she received an email “confirming that I was eligible for a business class seat” if tickets were available at check-in, she claimed.

When she got to the airport in Taiwan, however, her request was refused. So far so unpromising. The influencer then – not able to take a hint – tried again to show her (allegedly) fake email on her return journey, this time getting a lot more than she bargained for…

“She said that she waited at check-in for 30 minutes, after which a member of staff accused her of trying to get an upgrade with a fake email… They then cancelled her ticket, citing fraud, and banned her from ever flying with the airline,” (The Sun).

The influencer then told travel advice agency Elliott Advocacy: “[The supervisor] proceeded to give me a ‘refusal of carriage letter.'”

“He stated that security said that Cathay Pacific did not send that email and that I had committed fraud.”

The influencer then to pay another $1,400 (£1,132) to get back to Taiwan on a separate airline. She then contacted Cathay Pacific to sort out the “misunderstanding” (and hoping for a refund on the flight home), only for Cathay Pacific to confirm the email she tried to wrangle an upgrade with was fraudulent (or at least, didn’t come from them).

“Cathay Pacific refunded her original flight ticket, but had reviewed the case and maintained their decision [to ban her].”

While the influencer now appears set to sue the airline in an attempt to prove she didn’t create the fraudulent documents, unless someone elaborately trolled her, it’s hard to believe she didn’t…

Edit: The influencer contacted D’Marge and their name has been removed at request.
