One of the perks of being a Formula 1 driver – you know, other than being able to drive the fastest cars on the planet, the international fame and enormous paychecks – is that you get a lot of nice freebies as part of the job.
That’s largely thanks to sponsors, with F1 teams and drivers all enjoying multiple, complex marketing arrangements. Few brands are more prominent in F1 than watch brands, and most teams in the sport have watch brands as major sponsors: Alpine with Bell & Ross, AlphaTauri with Casio, Aston Martin with Girard-Perregaux… You’ll always see F1 drivers slipping on new watches before and after races. Some drivers even have their own signature edition watches.
But when they’re not on the tools, so to speak, they often wear some rather different timepieces. Check out some of the 2021 F1 grid’s favourite ‘off-duty’ watches below.
One watch that’s particularly popular among multiple drivers on the grid: the Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is perhaps the most flagrant fan of the luxury sports watch, the Monégasque maestro favouring the rose gold Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph (ref. 5990/1R). This is despite the fact that Ferrari has a sponsorship deal with the already highly exclusive watch brand Richard Mille – with the average ‘Millie’ arguably a more prestigious watch than a Nautilus.
Funnily enough, Daniel Ricciardo – whose current team McLaren also has a deal with Richard Mille – also owns a rose gold Nautilus chronograph, in his case, the ref. 5980/1R. Ricciardo’s actually owned this watch for a few years, having been spotted rocking it as early as 2017 (back when he was with Red Bull), so he was actually cheating on TAG Heuer by wearing a Patek back then…
RELATED: Cristiano Ronaldo Returns To Manchester United While Wearing Surprisingly Humble Watch
Of course, most (but not all) modern F1 drivers usually don’t wear their watches whilst they’re competing. In a sport where every gram counts, the extra weight of a wristwatch is theoretically counter-productive, as well as a potential health hazard in the event of a crash – you wouldn’t want a hefty gold Hublot weighing down your wrist.
The same is true for many other sports – Roger Federer might have a big ol’ Rolex sponsorship, for example, but you’ll notice that some attendant will quickly rush over to slap the watch on his wrist after he finishes playing, so the watch will be there for photos but not impact his performance during a match. Sneaky stuff.

Just four months after Australian movie megastar Chris Hemsworth unveiled arms so huge, they practically defied the laws of physics and would have even had The Rock scared that somebody was coming for his crown, the Australian poster boy has posted yet another picture, showing himself look tougher than ever.
When you’re someone like Chris Hemsworth, always being typecast as the burly, macho man in movies, you can never take a day off from training. No sooner had he finished shooting for the latest instalment in the Thor movie franchise, Chris was back to work preparing himself for the upcoming sequel to the hit Netflix movie, Extraction.
Reprising his role as Tyler Rake, a former SASR operator turned black ops mercenary, Chris has to ensure he looks the part, and judging by his latest Instagram post, we’d say he more than fits the bill. Performing a cable fly in the image, a must-do move for anyone wanting to build the size of their pecs, Chris looks huge, muscular and determined – words that he’s so often associated with.
View this post on Instagram
Informing his audience in the caption that he’s six weeks away from the start of filming, Chris thanks his personal training team at Centr – the workout and nutrition app he’s developed alongside a host of fitness experts – for “giving me all the tools I need for a bulletproof rig.”
Perhaps this could insinuate he’ll be foregoing the kevlar bulletproof vests in the upcoming film, and using his abs of steel to deflect any incoming gunfire.
Some of Chris’ friends and Hollywood colleagues were quick to comment on the image, with actor Daniel MacPherson joking, “Coming in overweight again I see,” while other users shared in their admiration for the thirst trap image, and cheering him on in his quest for serious strength.
Other Instagram users shared their thoughts too, expressing their amazement. Pertinent comments included: “EL MAS GUAPO” (THE MOST HANDSOME) and “wait but did you die?”
“Beast mode,” another Instagram user wrote.
Chris hasn’t yet shared any other recent workouts, but in early September he unveiled a bodyweight workout, which he has also used to help him prepare for the film. You can view this brutal workout in the video below.
While Chris may have the time and resources available to train to a consistent schedule, you too can achieve a body similar to his, as many ‘average Joes’ who have followed the Centr workouts, can attest to.

Dating in Sydney in 2021 sucked. And while our friends in regional areas have faced problems of their own (see: Australian Woman’s Embarrassing Encounter Reveals The Perils Of ‘Small City Dating’) there are a number of issues Sydneysiders have experienced this year that they have felt no choice but to vent about.Enter: the following TikTok video, posted by Alessia Crissani. The video expresses Crissani’s frustration with the dating scene in Sydney. The big problem with dating in Sydney.
Her main gripe seems to be the 5 kilometre rule, which was in place for much of lockdown. Crissani takes her followers through how she has been changing the distance settings on Hinge to take this into account. Now: this isn’t the problem with dating in Sydney (it’s actually an important health measure). But it links to arguably the biggest problem with dating in Sydney, at any time – it’s quite a spread out city, with insular pockets of people in different areas.Funnily enough, even in normal times, Sydney being such a spread out city, living too far away from a potential date was already a deal breaker for many.“Literally,” one wrote in the comments of Crissani’s video. “People still date?” asked another.Crissani is not alone in complaining about Sydney’s dating scene. As you can also see in the video above, Abby Elizabeth, another TikTok creator, expressed her frustration recently with dating in Sydney too, with a video calling out such behaviours as people on dating apps who just want to be friends with benefits, send dick pics and say “I won’t tell my girlfriend.”It clearly resonated with people, with one writing: “she forgot the ‘don’t tell my sister,'” and “lmao I feel you fam,” as well as “we all screwed in lockdown” and “so accurate it breaks my heart.”Another opined: “If you live in Bondi it’s even worse than this.”It’s also possible these are just classic big city dating traits, some TikTok users pointed out.Sexologist, relationship expert and host of the podcast Sex & Life Nikki Goldstein has previously spoken to DMARGE about many of these phenomena, telling DMARGE that Sydney is very open when it comes to modern dating.Nikki told us, “You have to assume the person you are talking to online or starting to date is either dating or talking to other people online.”If it’s a monogamous relationship you’re after rather than a casual fling, it’s fine, but Nikki says, “You actually need to address it because if not, it will be assumed that just because you go on a date, it won’t then mean they’re off the market. If you want to take things further after the second, third, fourth or even fifth encounter then you have to talk about it.”Nikki also said that Sydney is a city where apps really are your friend: “I would say get on apps, Sydney is a metropolitan city but also an app city.”Nikki reckons using dating apps is particularly useful if you find yourself solo in Sydney. She told DMARGE: “If you don’t have mutual friends it’s always really good to have a good profile on an app – let me stress the word good profile because you need to project yourself how you really are.”Another piece of advice for dating in Sydney, according to Nikki, is try and meet people during the day (particularly relevant advice for 2021, too).“Instead of walking up to someone in a bar, try a group paddleboarding class (if you’re a water person).”Still feeling sorry for yourself? Never fear: further videos on TikTok show dating isn’t easy in Australia no matter where you live, especially in this Pangolin cursed year. Watch the video below to see the many other issues people have found with dating in Australia in 2021.Dating in Australia in 2021.

The Whitsunday Islands is an umbrella term given to the 74 islands off the tropical coast of Queensland. Quite literally a paradise, the Islands have become a huge tourist hotspot over the years, with notable islands such as Hamilton Island and Whitsunday accepting the majority of incoming visitors.
It’s easy to see why, with stunning natural landscapes, the Great Barrier Reef, beautiful beaches, secluded bays and calm waters at every turn.
If you’re the adventurous type, a holiday here means snorkeling, diving, swimming, sailing, beach camping and bushwalking. If you’re more inclined to sunbathe by a pool between trips to the spa, the islands deliver equally well.
The accommodations are similarly varied to cater to a variety of tastes, especially those looking for something that offers luxury in spades. When it comes to Airbnbs, it can be tricky to find something on the Islands themselves. Most are situated around Airlie Beach or Mount Rooper, which you’ll need to get a boat or ferry from to take you to the Islands.
Hamilton Island is the only island that is capable of accepting visitors, and it’s the only one of the islands with an airport large enough to accomodate commercial aircraft, with direct flights arriving from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns.
Now that Australia is slowly opening back up to domestic tourism, here is our pick of the best Airbnb stays in the Whitsundays.

Joe Rogan has taken to Instagram to share one of the most unappetising foods you’ll see this week (but also one of the most nutrient dense).
What is it? Liver.
Rogan took to Instagram to share a photo of his meal-in-preparation, dividing followers into two groups (yum and yuck).
View this post on Instagram
“Liver is a weird thing because it’s not something that most people enjoy, but it’s one of the most nutrient rich foods on the planet,” Rogan wrote. “What’s weird is that we’re not attracted to it, but animals LOVE it.”
“My dog freaks out when I give him some. Like it’s irresistible. Almost orgasmic. In wolf packs the alpha wolf gets to eat the liver of a kill. Most people I know think it’s gross. I don’t prefer it, but I always eat it to avoid waste and because of its nutritional value.”
“I just think it’s strange that a food that’s so good for us doesn’t interest most people.”
Surrealist painter Joel Rea wrote: “Best with fava beans and a nice Chianti.”
Fighter Marlon Chito Vera wrote: “I love it as much as a rib eye.”
Juan Archuleta, another martial artist, wrote: “I love the elk liver and heart some of the best nutrients you can get. I instantly feel the difference every time I eat it.”
Comedian Ali Siddiq commented: “I grow up eating Liver and onions with gravy over rice I still love it My mother doesn’t cook it anymore so I just eat it when I can.”
Not everyone was so fawning though. One user expressed concerns it could taste gross, writing: “The taste and texture. .”
Another quipped: “Have you heard of vegetables?”
Kimi Werner, freediving huntress from Hawaii wrote: “I wish I liked liver. I keep trying to.”
Another Instagram user said: “My grandma gave me liver one time as a kid. She loves it. I thought she gave me a piece of fried blood clot! I was like grandma, ‘wtf’ is in our mouths. Vegan now.”
For those who are intrigued by this nutrient rich food, but find it gross, Chef Michael Hunter commented, recommending “soaking [liver] in a little salt brine or overnight in milk” claiming that this “pulls out some of the funk.”
“Rinse and pat dry before pan frying.”
Rogan followed the post up with a photo of cooked liver and onions, sarcastically calling the dish ‘controversial,’ perhaps in anticipation of how it would later be described in headlines around the world.
RELATED: Joe Rogan’s Carnivore Diet Could Be Your Ticket To Becoming A Shredded Beast…But At What Cost?
“Fresh elk liver and onions,” Rogan captioned the photo. “Wild game liver is a controversial dish, but this was absolutely delicious. I seasoned it with @meatchurch’s ‘holy voodoo’ and fried it in a cast iron skillet with onions, garlic and butter.”

Joe Rogan isn’t the only one talking about liver at the moment. It seems to be trending, with American man Brian Johnson (AKA Liver King) spuiking its benefits too, as well as even grosser (to those of us accustomed to getting our meat neatly wrapped in plastic and turning it into such meals as Bolognese) habits like eating animal gonads.
See Mr Johnson eating raw balls in the video below (as well as sharing some of his other ‘wild’ health habits).
Healthline says the following about liver:
“Many people have concerns about eating liver and wonder whether it’s unhealthly. One of the most common questions is if its cholesterol content is a problem. While liver is high in cholesterol, this isn’t an issue for most people.”
“People used to believe that cholesterol in food caused heart disease. However, more recent research has shown that this isn’t true for the majority of people. Most heart disease-related cholesterol is actually produced in the body. And when you eat foods high in cholesterol, your body produces less to keep the balance.”
“However, around a quarter of the population appears to be more sensitive to cholesterol in food. For these people, eating cholesterol-rich foods can increase blood cholesterol.”
Healthline also states: “Another common concern about eating liver is that it contains toxins. However, the liver does not store toxins. Rather, its job is to process toxins and make them safe or turn them into something that can be safely removed from the body. In conclusion, toxins in liver are not an issue, and it should certainly not be avoided for this reason.”
Maybe liver really is a superfood, then? You just have to get over the ‘ick’..

Scott Disick is one of those celebrities who just thrives off negative attention.
The 38-year-old television personality and businessman, who blew into the public eye after appearing on Keeping Up With The Kardashians during his relationship with eldest daughter Kourtney, is a cad. But he knows he’s a cad, and he’s turned it into a business proposition: he even has a clothing label named Talentless. Gotta give him kudos for that at least.
But even his most ardent supporters would find his enormous car collection hard to justify. It’s hard to figure out exactly what Disick’s net worth is but if the man’s car collection is anything to go by, he’s doing alright for himself.
Last week, Scott shared a cheeky shot of his driveway on Instagram, which is the most complete picture fans have got so far of his automotive treasure trove. Visible in the candid shot are expensive rides such as a McLaren P1, Rolls-Royce Cullinan and a Lamborghini Urus – plus two Ferraris, a 488 GTB and a 812 Superfast. That’s several million dollars of cars right there.
View this post on Instagram
What’s interesting about Disick is that he has a real penchant for wrapping his cars in vinyl in order to play around with different colours and effects, regularly enlisting the services of RDBLA – the West Coast Customs of vehicle wrapping. His most outrageous wrap has to be what he’s done to his Cullinan: not only covering the huge British SUV in a meteorite metal effect wrap but even replacing the famous ‘Spirit of Ecstacy’ hood ornament with a crystal glass version. Now that’s extra.

We can hear you asking, ‘why should we give a sh*t about Scott Disick and his car collection? Isn’t just evidence that the world is unfair?’ Firstly, it’s just that attitude that he thrives off of and leads to his success. Secondly, if anything, this should inspire you. If Scott Disick – a ‘talentless’ man with a squeaky voice and unfortunate face – can make so much money and buy so many cars, maybe you can, too. I mean, Khloé and Kendall are both single…
Check out the rest of his outlandish car collection below.

There are many ways to keep your muscles jiggling in transit. There’s HIT hotel workouts, Dan Bilzerian’s hotel chair hammer curl workout, celebrity trainer’s 10 minute ‘quick blast’ workouts and World Champion surfer ‘grasshopper’ workouts. And that’s just to name a few (we should, also, provide a shout out to the remarkable improvised workouts we have seen coming out of travellers stuck in hotel quarantine).RELATED: World Famous Strongman ‘Battling’ To Keep Fit In Australian Hotel QuarantineWhat all of these hotel workouts miss, however, is another moment where it is also possible to sneak a sneaky sweat session in – the airport. While you might not think of this as an oportune moment to work out, if you think about it, it really is (provided you don’t mind being judged by other passengers and potentially stinking out the plane). Why? You’ve already got all the equipment you could need, in the form of your baggage.Enter: Brian Johnson – AKA Liver King – an American Man who, in response to his childrens’ poor health implemented a ‘nose to tail’ approach to eating (and now eats a pound of liver a day). He has the physiqye of a bodybuilder and takes regularly to Instagram to preach the benefits of ancestral workouts and nutrition.Which brings us to the following video, which Liver King posted on the weekend. The video shows him doing quite a remarkable workout at the airport with some very large suitcases. He can be seen doing an overhead suitcase press, literal suitcase carry, heavy suitcase carry with son (sitting on top) and airplane seat dips.Watch Liver King’s epic ‘airport workout’ below.
Liver King captioned the video: “‘I’m too busy to train.’ ‘I’m travelling all the time.’ ‘I’m with the kids.’ ‘I’ve got a long haul flight.’ … And?”
One follower wrote: “I love this!! In a semi hauling hay today (by choice) just to be with my handsome husband and I brought resistance bands to workout in the cab of the truck!!”Another commented: “Thank you, always working.”Others made remarks like “maintaining” and “wow liver king this inspired me to outwork myself today.”Further positive comments included: “We need more of this man” and “Always ways to put the work in. No excuses.”
“Let’s Gooooooo !!!!!”
Not everyone was super impressed though. One man wrote: “I dare someone to start doing Dips next to me on a plane. we scrapping immediately.”Fair enough. But if you want to be build like a brick shithouse, you’ve got to make sacrifices, we suppose.

It should be fair to say that, for many people in 2021, their major source of fitness and nutrition inspiration these days comes from Instagram. The incredibly popular social media platform has become a complete encyclopaedia of information (and misinformation), accompanied by images and videos to make claims, advice and information easier to consume. But as we also all know, platforms such as Instagram are also littered with fake news, filters, and often information extrapolated from sources, that completely change the original aim of said source. Nowhere is this more true than in the fitness and nutrition space.Fair enough, what works for one person may not be the best course of action for someone else, and with fitness and nutrition information being science-based, there are naturally going to be differences in opinion, and research that contradicts other pieces of research. So, while we may follow one particular account and live by their every word, we may not get the results we expect, only for us then to make a brash claim that the person we’ve listened to is full of sh*t.But, because we consume content first with our eyes, and we’re hoping to get ourselves into better shape, we’re far more likely to be attracted to someone who is perfectly chiselled, compared to someone who looks like they’ve more than let themselves go. But what if that visually unfit person was a qualified expert in fitness or nutrition? Surely they would be a more reliable source of information to help us achieve our goals?Basically, is the online fitness industry, at least when it comes to social media, f**ked?DMARGE spoke exclusively with Luke Hines, Australian fitness trainer and author of several best-selling cookbooks. Of course, being a prominent figure on social media himself, you may initially think he’s not going to be the best person to argue this point. But some recent posts on his Instagram account prove even those in the know can get it wrong, as he admits the lockdown wreaked havoc on his fitness, nutrition and overall health.Luke agrees that it’s more likely to be social media and other forms of media, as a whole, that dictate our body ideals, “it’s hard to say if the [fitness] industry itself sets an expectation out loud, more so what I think is projected on screens and social media, it almost sets a precedent.”“If you look at celebs who are on TV for fitness, or healthy food/fitness bloggers online, they all seem to look the part so to speak, and by being exposed to that with the media we consume, I think it’s hard not to think that’s where the bar is set.”He adds: “We definitely are directly affected by what we consume on TV and social media, so the more we see popular people in the public eye who work in healthy food and fitness looking incredibly ripped, muscly or chiselled, then I think it’s easy for us to think, ‘hey, that’s what I should look like or people won’t take me seriously.”Luke accepts that we are now more likely to obtain any fitness or nutrition information online, rather than from books (remember those?). So when we’re searching for a reliable account to follow, our uninformed minds can become warped, and we are more likely to gravitate towards the super-shredded guy or girl.“It’s funny how we do judge a book by its cover. If we see a totally super shredded guy or girl selling a fitness program online, we might be more inclined to buy it off them over, say, a professor in sports science who knows way more than said ‘expert/influencer’, but is raging, not in the best shape, and doesn’t use all the fancy filters, or perhaps not even have social media at all.”
“We all know who has more knowledge on the matter, but it comes down to what influences our behaviour and how we are affected by marketing strategies.”
“I would not be surprised at all if the average Joe is confused with where to start, especially when looking for health or nutrition advice online, because it is a really crowded space, with a lot of voices with differing opinions. Someone having a good rig doesn’t mean they know what they’re talking about, and vice versa.”
View this post on Instagram
It’s this transparency Luke provides that make him someone we’re more likely to follow and listen to, compared to someone who references a particular study in their caption, for example, without actually providing a link to the study, or only mentioning one section, without giving us the full picture. We also like how Luke says we’re allowed to treat ourselves every now and then:“I think it’s so important to allow ourselves a break from anything too strict or regimented, as life is to be lived first. Stricter style diets, programs and health kicks can serve a purpose in the short term, but they’re really not sustainable.”
“It’s important to perhaps use them for what they are, a reset or detox etc, but then look at finding balance.”
Balance between eating clean but also allowing life to be awesome and experiencing new things you really want or crave, but don’t overdo it on either end of the spectrum. This is where I stitched myself up. I went from super strict, to super lenient, without finding a healthy balance in between.”

One of the most alluring features of the James Bond films is how we see both the absolute cutting edge of industrial design go hand in hand with tradition.007 himself might always be outfitted with high-tech gadgets, fancy watches and top-spec automobiles, but he’s almost never without a classic suit and tie. He drinks martinis, not hard seltzers, if you know what I mean? He’s a citizen of two worlds: at once both a representation of old-fashioned British style, wit and a stiff upper lip, as well as a globetrotting, always up-to-date secret agent provocateur – the ultimate gentleman. No wonder so many men aspire to be like Bond.A perfect example of Bond’s dual nature is in his outfit choices in his latest filmic adventure, No Time to Die – the 25th Bond film and actor Daniel Craig’s final stint as the famous fictional spy. Without sharing any spoilers, Bond spends most of the film in a tidy Savile Row suit – although that’s to be expected – but his footwear choice is somewhat unconventional. In multiple scenes, Bond can be seen pairing his formalwear with chukka boots: a rather inspired choice that might just be the best way to spice up an otherwise conventional suiting look, or nail the smart casual style brief.
