Ben Simmons says the Philadelphia 76ers didn’t provide a supportive environment for him, citing a back injury as part of the reason he didn’t play for such a long period. He also said his Philly coach and certain teammates basically threw him under the bus.
Speaking to former teammate JJ Redick on The Old Man & the Three podcast, Australian NBA star Ben Simmons has talked about the differences between “the calm place” he is now with The Nets and the chaotic place he was in when he was with the 76ers.
Other than confirming: “No I didn’t leave the group chat,” (he also said he wasn’t sprung with a phone at training, which was another rumour going around), Simmons also spoke out about the controversial period of time when he wasn’t playing for the 76ers.

Simmons said he had a bad back injury that happened off the court, which was part of what kept him sidelined for so long (during the so-called “stalemate” between him and the club). While Simmons maintains it was for mental health reasons (and his back) many angry fans felt otherwise, assuming it had to do with money, pride, being unable to handle criticism and trying to force through a trade.
“That’s what I hate about the internet; just f*****g people making anything up and it just gets taken too far.”
Ben Simmons
Simmons said he first felt a soreness when working out. He then went to run up a set of stairs and felt the whole right side of his body drop. He then lay down and could not move, later learning he had hurt his L4-5 disc.
“If I’m hurt; I’m hurt.”
Ben Simmons
As for his mental struggles, when Redick asked if they started in the Hawks series (where the 76ers lost a crucial game), Simmons said it was more so later, after people started rinsing him.
“I’m already dealing with a lot mentally in life, as a lot of people do, but it got to a point where after that series I’m getting the people you’re supposed to have the support from… I wasn’t getting that either so it was a toll on me.”
“Mentally it killed me. I was like f**k, I don’t have energy for anything and I was in a dark place and it took me a long time. The first thing for me was really to identify… it’s not a physical thing it’s mental. That first thing of acknowledging it was a huge step for me and I was like: ‘Ok, I need to address this. I need help in these areas.'”
“Being able to do that was the start to getting to where I’m at now, and I feel comfortable talking about it now.”
Ben Simmons
“Everything’s public, that’s the craziest part. Everybody goes through different struggles. Everyone has their own battles. [It was] tough for me; I didn’t really have that support from team mates… I don’t care about the money, I want peace and happiness and I want to be in a good place.”
“Peace is more valuable than money.”
Ben Simmons
“I didn’t feel like I got it [support] from coaches, teammates – I won’t say all teammates because there’s great guys on that team that did reach out and are still my friends – but I didn’t feel like I got that, and it was just a tough place for me.”
WATCH: Shaq Weighs In On Ben Simmons Saga
Simmons said he tried to return to the 76ers’ practice last season, in an effort to do the right thing by his team mates, despite not mentally being ready, but coach Doc Rivers kicked him out of practice and later suspended him.
“I actually spoke to Doc before practice. I was like, ‘Doc, I’m not ready. Mentally, I’m not ready. Please just understand that,’” Simmons told Redick.
“I tried to let him know prior, and he was like, ‘Well, I’m going to put you in anyway.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’ He told me to get in. I looked at him. It was like one minute into practice, like, ‘Ben, get in.’”
“I’m like, first of all, no one’s doing that. You’re doing this on purpose. And that’s how I felt, too. It seems like everyone’s trying to f**k with me now. I’m getting fined for not lifting weights, but physically I’m one of the strongest guys on the f*****g team. So now they’re fining me for little things. It was just a build-up. Obviously, I didn’t handle things the right way, but, also, the team didn’t either, and the people who had that power.”
RELATED: Shaquille O’Neal Gives Ben Simmons A Piece Of His Mind
Simmons also said that he thought Shaquille O’Neale’s criticism of him was ignorant, saying “they have a platform to protect us and stuff and do good… obviously they are supposed to criticise us – we’re basketball players – but when it comes to personal stuff there is a level of respect they should have.”
“Don’t talk if you don’t know.”
Ben Simmons
Simmons sat out the start of the 2021-22 season at the same time as he tried to get a trade away from the 76ers. The 76ers traded him to the Brooklyn Nets in February, in return for Paul Millsap and James Harden. Simmons never played last season and got surgery in April for a back injury.
As for the future, Simmons told Redick he was “so excited” about the new number and new jersey. He said the Nets are a special team and “if we get it all together we’re going to be champions.”

The PlayStation 5 was released 22 months ago and yet, stores are still plagued with stock shortages. Here’s why and when you can expect the gaming console to be widely available.
We’re all about the ~new~ in today’s society. Whenever the latest iPhone is released, people flock to the Apple store to line up and buy it. Likewise, watch nerds camped out for days earlier this year just to get their hands on an OMEGA x Swatch watch.
And gaming consoles are no different. In fact, when the PlayStation 5 (PS5) was released, absolute chaos ensued. Retailers around the world were swamped with gamers who had to fight (literally in some cases) over the limited stock of PS5s.
It may surprise you to learn that it’s been almost two whole years since the PS5 was released. That’s right, the aforementioned chaos was making headlines back in November 2020. And yet, the PS5 is as elusive now as it was then.
With most products, two years after its release, you’ll be able to walk into any store and it’ll be in stock. To use the iPhone as an example again, the iPhone 12 was released around the same time as the PS5, in October 2020. And now, most – if not all – stores that sell phones have ample stock of the iPhone 12 readily available for purchase.
WATCH: A fight, which was allegedly over a PS5, broke out in a Walmart located in North Carolina back in 2020…
But the PS5 is still hard to come by. Why? Well, Sony has blamed supply constraints that were caused by both the pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for the severe PS5 stock shortages.
However, while Sony has made fixing the PS5 shortage a top priority, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger told CNBC that semiconductors – which are used to create PS5 consoles – won’t be widely available until at least 2024. This means PS5s won’t be easily attainable until then – four years after its initial release!
In the meantime, some of the lucky few who managed to snag a PS5 have disgustingly price-gouged them. So, if you’re desperate for a PS5, you’ll be able to get one now – but only if you pay handsomely for it. The original price of a PS5 is US$500 but on resell sites like eBay, PS5s are going for anywhere between US$600 to US$1000.
At this rate, we won’t be surprised if Sony just abandons the PS5 and releases the PlayStation 6 instead; although this would make the PS5 a seriously priceless collectible. Maybe buying a price-gouged one isn’t such a bad idea after all…

Ben Affleck’s probably the last guy you’d expect would be into sneakers – but it turns out the famously style-adverse actor is into his streetwear, as his latest outfit suggests.
The 50-year-old Hollywood heavyweight was spotted at a costume shop on the weekend (doing some early Halloween shopping, we guess) with his stepkids, looking typically ‘normcore’ in a blue military shirt over a white t-shirt and some dark jeans – so far, so Affleck – but with a pair of Nike x Fragment x Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Low sneakers on his feet.
It’s an uncharacteristically stylish move from a man who normally gives off strong divorced dad vibes with his outfits… As well as a rather lavish one. These sneakers regularly sell on aftermarket sites like StockX and eBay Sneakers for well over $2,000.
Looks like hanging out with his fashionable stepkids has made him up his style game.

A three-way collaboration between sportswear giant Nike, cult designer Hiroshi Fujiwara’s hyped imprint Fragment Design and big-name Houston rapper Travis Scott, these basketball sneakers rank as one of the most desirable pairs of shoes on the planet… As well as one of the most counterfeited.
RELATED: These Nike Sneakers Are The Most Likely To Be Fake
This isn’t the first time Affleck’s worn Travis Scott sneakers, either. Last month he was also spotted wearing a similarly pricy pair of Cactus Jack x Dior B713 sneakers. Maybe he’s a big hip-hop fan?
Affleck’s also reportedly writing an as-of-yet untitled film about Nike, where he’s also set to direct as well as play Phil Knight, Nike’s billionaire co-founder. According to IMDB, it will follow the history of shoe salesman Sonny Vaccaro and how he helped Nike sign Michael Jordan. Matt Damon is a co-writer, and stars like Viola Davis and Jason Batemen are also on board.

Ballerina, an upcoming film starring Ana de Armas and set in the same universe as John Wick, is set to start filming any day now.
Since the film, John Wick first hit cinemas in 2014, it quickly became a global phenomenon. There are now three John Wick films, with a fourth and potentially fifth film on the way, as well as a prequel spinoff series called, The Continental, that’s set to be released next year.
But there’s also a spinoff film on the way too. Titled Ballerina, the film will star Ana de Armas of Knives Out, No Time To Die and The Gray Man fame. And according to Variety, de Armas will start filming in the next month or so, meaning Ballerina is likely to be released either in late 2023 or early 2024.
Ballerina will follow a young female assassin (played by de Armas) as she seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. The premise sounds very similar to the premise of the first John Wick film but that’s not the only connection to the franchise.

While it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, it’s likely that de Armas’ character was raised and trained at the same place John was; in the third John Wick film, it’s revealed that John was raised and trained to be an assassin in a theatre and as he walks through it, there are ballet dancers training in one of the theatre’s rooms.
Len Wiseman, known for directing Underworld, is set to direct Ballerina while Shay Hatten, who co-wrote John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, has co-written Ballerina with Oscar-winner, Emerald Fennell.
At this stage, it’s not clear whether Keanu Reeves will appear in Ballerina as John Wick. Deadline previously reported that Reeves will definitely not make a cameo appearance in the John Wick spinoff series, The Continental but that’s because the series pre-dates John himself.
And despite the fact that Reeves will not appear on the show, he’s still supportive and has read every script for The Continental. Clearly, Reeves is passionate about the John Wick universe and therefore, could show up in Ballerina… Here’s hoping!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the 40-year-old football legend, has put the world’s Instagram models to shame, with a rather impressive booty video…
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the almost 41-year-old football phenomenon (it’s his birthday next month), made headlines this week by telling an Italian media outlet he would be back “with violence” when he recovers from his knee surgery and takes to the pitch in the new year.
In classic Zlatan fashion, he said: “If I see a player stronger than me, I’ll stop. But I haven’t seen him yet.”
Speaking of strength, Zlatan just gave his 55.7 million followers a look at how he maintains his buns of steel. How so? He shared a video of himself getting acupuncture on his lower back and buttocks.
In the video, it looked as if the Swedish superstar was being electrocuted, such was the intensity of the twanging.
WATCH: Zlatan Gets ‘Electric Acupuncture’
Acupuncture involves inserting very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most often used to treat pain. Increasingly, however, it is being used for overall health and wellbeing, including stress management (millions of Americans turn to acupuncture each year to treat chronic pains and even depression).
Acupuncture is also in some cases being modernised. According to Scientific American, researchers at Rutgers University recently reported that “combining the acupuncturist’s needle with an electric current could yield a new treatment for severe inflammation.” This appears to be the technique Zlatan was having a crack at.
RELATED: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Exercises In The Snow
Though many scientists see potential in acupuncture (both old and new) many others see it as a pseudoscience.
In any case, Zlatan appears to be willing to give it a go. It’s also not the only thing Zlatan does to stay in shape. Zlatan has a varied approach to fitness, which has seen him post videos of himself doing punching bag sit-ups, treadmill runs, mountain biking, knee draining sessions and ice baths.
Though Zlatan is getting on in years, sempremilan.com reports that AC Milan is looking forward to his return, as he “could be another decisive player in the quest to defend the Scudetto and go further in the Champions League.”
Though Zlatan is not out on the pitch at the moment, sempremilan.com reports that “Zlatan imparted a fearless mentality onto a young squad” and is a key educational and motivational figure.
RELATED: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Is Truly Not Human
The Italian digital media outlet also reported that Ibra “wants to tick off some records” when he comes back. According to sempremilan.com, “only two players have scored a goal in Serie A at an older age than Zlatan, whose last goal came at 40 years and 98 days on January 9th.”
“Alessandro Costacurta netted against Udinese at 41 years and 25 days and Silvio Piola scored at 40 years and 131 days. Ibrahimovic will turn 41 on October 3rd, so if the Swede scores on his return he will take the record.”
Sempremilan.com
There you have it. The striking Swede isn’t going away any time soon. Let’s hope he’s got a few more goals in him so that history can keep on being made.

Roger Federer has one of the biggest collections of Rolex watches of any athlete on the planet – one of the perks of being a Rolex ambassador, we suppose. But despite his impressive haul, it’s his wife Mirka Federer who has the coolest (and most expensive) Rolex in the family.
Miroslava “Mirka” Federer, a Slovakian-Swiss former professional tennis player and Roger’s wife of 13 years, benefits from her husband’s luxe Rolex deal and can often be seen wearing some of the in-demand Swiss brand’s most lavish pieces.
Case in point: as she embraced her husband after his last ever game of professional tennis at the 2022 Laver Cup in London last friday, a ridiculously rare Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ‘Rainbow’ (ref. 116509RDPB) could be seen perched on her wrist.
Roger’s no stranger to outrageous Rollies – just check out this similarly bedazzled Daytona ‘Orange’ he wore to Wimbledon this year – but Mirka’s watch is another level of luxury entirely.

An ‘off-catalogue’ piece that’s only available to the most dedicated Rolex customers (or friends of the brand), this white gold take on the iconic chronograph features a completely diamond-paved dial with baguette-cut multicoloured diamonds for indices; a rainbow diamond-set bezel in place of the Daytona’s typical tachymeter scale as well as more diamond pavé across the watch’s lugs.
There are a few different types of Rainbow Daytonas but this one is particularly expensive thanks to its dial. There’s also a rose gold variant of this watch which combines a diamond-paved dial and lugs with additional pavé across the Oyster bracelet’s centre links… It’s all a bit ridiculous.
RELATED: The Best Rolex Watches To Buy In 2022
Last Friday was an emotional day for Mirka and Roger, with the latter’s final match marking the end of an era for tennis. It was a doubles game that saw the Swiss champ partner with long-time rival and friend, Spain’s Rafael Nadal, against America’s Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe. The match was Roger’s 1750th match on the ATP tour and ended in a loss – but the greater loss is Roger’s departure from the game.

Save from a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine, only the best board games for adults have the ability to really offer a night of endless entertainment. Board games come in various guises, and you may think that the best options for adults will be classic games such as Cluedo or Scrabble.
But you would be wrong.
Whilst they are entertaining games, make no mistake, if you really want to add some thrills to your next dinner party, then you need to invest in a board game designed specifically for adults.
So, we really aren’t talking about Connect Four or Scrabble, we’re talking about games that are legitimately fun and definitely worth spending a precious Friday or Saturday night playing. If you don’t have any games or don’t think your friends will be impressed with the ones currently in your collection, never fear!
We’ve rounded up the best board games for adults, guaranteed to give you and your mates an enjoyable and entertaining evening…
GAME

Players: 2+
Playtime: Until there is one person left standing
Price: $69
This card game, called GAME (original, we know) is guaranteed to give you and your mates one hell of a night – in the best way possible. It brings together classic favourites such as truth or dare, trivia and survivor all rolled into one. Be warned, some of the dares are a little risque but will make you and your friends howl with laughter.
Playing GAME couldn’t be simpler. Just take 5 cards from each of the 6 categories, shuffle them and place them face down. Go around the circle picking up a card, and perform or respond to whatever the card asks. You might get a simple question, “Who is the hottest F1 driver?” or something a little more daring, “Tie your hands to your ankles with something rope-like.”
There is drinking involved with GAME, which is what makes it one for adults. Although, replace alcohol with juice and you could potentially get the kids involved too.
Poetry for Neanderthals

Players: 2+
Playtime: 90-second rounds. Play until everyone has had a go.
Audience: Ages 7 and up
Price: $35
From the maker of Exploding Kittens comes Poetry for Neanderthals. It works in a similar way to Taboo, in that you have to describe what’s on your card to your teammates. But where Poetry for Neanderthals differs is that you can only speak using single syllable words. You of course, can’t mention a specified list of words on the card you’re holding.
If you do slip up and use words with more than one syllable, then opposing team members have permission to hit you with a 2-foot inflatable club. The makers say, “It’s a board game that forces you to explain complicated ideas using simple vocabulary.”
Poetry for Neanderthals can be enjoyed by a younger audience too, so this isn’t strictly just for adults. But we can guarantee if you get alcohol involved, it will become all the more hilarious.
Monopoly Deal

Players: 2 – 5
Playtime: from 15 minutes
Ages: 8+
Price: $5
Before you roll your eyes and groan because you’ve read the word, ‘Monopoly’ – hear us out! Monopoly Deal is a new version of the game that’s nowhere near as time-consuming or old-hat; it’s actually really fun.
There’s no board involved with Monopoly Deal, just cards, and like the original Monopoly, you want to get the most property and money but unlike the OG, you can do so quickly and easily. In fact, game maker Hasbro says you can theoretically win in as little as 15-minutes.
Oh, and you can also f*ck over other opponents by stealing properties off them or getting them to cough up rent money – which is so satisfying…
Betrayal at House on the Hill

Players: 3 – 6
Playtime: 30 minutes – 2 hours
Ages: 12+ (suggested)
Price: $72
We don’t want to give too much away about Betrayal at the House on the Hill because the suspense is part of the fun. The simplest explanation of the board game is that there’s a haunted house that you and your friends have to explore but, once the ‘Exploration’ phase of the game is complete, there then comes a ‘Haunt’ phase. It’s during this phase that inevitably one of you turns on all the others… Betrayal at House on the Hill features multiple scenarios and layouts, and 50 possible Haunts to play out, meaning you’re unlikely to play the same game twice.
It may take a couple of run throughs to fully understand the rules (they can be a little tricky for beginners to grasp) which is why we’d call this a board game for adults. There’s no drinking involved with it, although there’s nothing stopping you popping open a couple of bottles of something red or white to make things more interesting.
Cards Against Humanity

Players: 3 – 20+
Playtime: 30-minutes
Ages: 17+
Price: $49 (Base game), Expansion packs available from $9
You may have already played Cards Against Humanity, or at the very least, you should have heard of it. This isn’t an adult board game that should be played by anyone who is easily offended.
How come? Because some of the words, phrases and sentences written on the cards in Cards Against Humanity are vile, cruel and incredibly politically incorrect. You play the game by choosing a black card, which asks a question or provides a sentence that needs some blanks filling in. You then use the obscene white cards to answer those questions, or fill in the blanks.
Each player takes their turn hosting a round. They read out the black card for other players to respond to, and then go through all the responses. The hosting player then chooses the round’s winner, based on which response they think is the most shocking.
With cards saying things like, “Thy anus” and “Rubbing my clit with a handgun”, we really must stress: don’t play Cards Against Humanity with someone like your children, in-laws or grandparents…

The former James Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan has candidly revealed he doesn’t care who plays the iconic 007 spy next…
The rumour mill is absolutely buzzing with multiple theories on who the next actor to play James Bond will be. At the moment, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Sam Heughan and Rege-Jean Page are the frontrunners but, sadly, the Bond producers have recently said we won’t know for some time…
With that being said, it’s still fun to speculate who will take on the mantle of the iconic 007 spy in the meantime, right? Well, it depends on who you ask… As it turns out, former Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan doesn’t give a flying f*ck.
Speaking to GQ UK, Brosnan was asked who he thinks should play James Bond next. And the actor simply responded with:
“I don’t care.”
Pierce Brosnan

Brosnan – who played James Bond from 1995 to 2002 in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day – quickly backtracked though and added, “It’ll be interesting to see who they get; who the man shall be. Whoever he be, I wish him well.”
A seemingly sincere wish, as Brosnan then went on to praise Daniel Craig – the actor who succeeded him in the James Bond franchise – and the 2012 Bond film, Skyfall. Although, while praising both Craig and Skyfall, Brosnan did seem to throw shade at the latest Bond film, No Time To Die…
“I saw the last one and I saw Skyfall. I love Skyfall. I’m not too sure about the last one. Daniel [Craig] always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong. But…”
Pierce Brosnan
Apparently, Brosnan trailed off at this point and the subject of Bond was quickly changed. And fair enough; it has been twenty years since the actor was involved with the James Bond franchise…

Finally we have the store which stocks just about everything in the latest cutting edge fashion for men. For those who don’t know, Harrolds also offers made-to-measure and custom tailoring services through their Concierge program. That means customers can pick luxury suits from labels such as Tom Ford, Saint Laurent and Thom Browne and have them fitted to their exact body dimensions. They even boast their own line of suiting which is designed in-house and produced in Italy from Australian wool.
A Tailor’s Words: “Our Made-To-Measure program offers our clients the opportunity to have a fully customised garment crafted by the finest suiting brands in the world specifically to their measurements.” – Mary Poulakis
