We’re on the ground in Singapore for LVMH Watch Week 2023, the fourth edition of the luxury group’s luxury watch symposium and arguably its most exciting edition yet. It’s Singapore, so it’s tropical, steamy and the sun’s beating down – which is perfect for the launch of a tough solar-powered dive watch.
One of the most exciting watches TAG Heuer has released in recent memory was the Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph (ref. WBP1112.FT6199): the 163-year-old brand’s first-ever solar-powered watch, and a real looker. Stealthy, with a black DLC-coated steel case and a unique carbon fibre bezel with lume mixed in, it was one of the most impressive watches released at Watches & Wonders 2022.
Unfortunately for many watch fans, the limited-edition black Solargraph got snapped up pretty quickly. Thankfully, TAG has just unveiled another take on the Solargraph at LVMH Watch Week 2023 – one that’s even more practical and arguably even better looking.
Meet the new titanium Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph (ref. WBP1180.BF0000): quite possibly the best luxury watch for the outdoors ever made.
WATCH the titanium Solargraph below.
First things first, let’s talk about that solar-powered movement. The Caliber TH50-00, which TAG Heuer partnered with renowned movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret to produce, is an ultra-accurate quartz movement powered by a small array of photovoltaic solar cells hidden behind the Solargraph’s translucent dial.
According to TAG, the Solargraph only needs 2 minutes of exposure to direct sunlight to power the watch for 24 hours. Once fully charged (which the watch will reach after less than 20 hours in the sun), it can run for up to 6 months with no light exposure. If it runs out of charge, it only needs exposure to any light source – not just the sun – for 10 seconds to get going again.
So the movement’s pretty special – but so is the titanium Solargraph’s case. Where the black Solargraph was steel with a rubber strap, this new model is crafted from grade 2 sand-blasted titanium and boasts a complementary titanium bracelet.
RELATED: TAG Heuer’s Most Expensive Watch Ever Is Also Its Most Avant-Garde

Titanium is the ideal material for a sports watch as it’s lightweight and very hardy, but one of its few flaws is that it tends to get scratched (superficially, mind you) quite easily. However, the titanium Solargraph’s sand-blasted finish makes it exceedingly resistant to scratches, as well as unique to look at and feel.
Its matching titanium bracelet is also a big selling point – as are its cool little aesthetic touches, such as how the seconds hand and the lume on the minute hand are polar blue, contrasting against the other indices’ green lume. It’s sporty but quite elegant.
Since the Aquaracer collection was updated in 2021, the only titanium model in the range was a Professional 300 with a green dial: a good-looking watch, but green’s not for everyone. The titanium Solargraph’s dark gray dial and colour scheme makes it a more versatile daily wearer… As does its solar-powered movement.
Like other models in the Aquaracer Professional 200 collection, the Solargraph is water-resistant to 200m and features a screw-down crown and a unidirectional diving bezel with a 60-minute scale. Combine that with a solar movement and you’ve got a watch that’s really perfect for the outdoors.

The best bit is that it costs the same as the black Solargraph: AU$4,450. That’s really quite affordable considering how much watch you get for the money. Sure, there are plenty of solar-powered watches out there that you can pick up for a few hundred bucks – but how many of them are TAG Heuers? More to the point, how many of them feature the same sort of build quality and elegant looks as the titanium Solargraph? None, that’s how many.
All in all, the titanium Solargraph is an exceedingly exciting, good-looking, practical daily wearer that I can’t wait to slap on my wrist. If this is the calibre of watch that LVMH Watch Week 2023 has in store for us, we’re in for a treat…

Joe Rogan isn’t one for immediately swallowing establishment advice. And so yet again he has contravened the stuffy old food pyramid and warnings of many food experts and nutritionists, and set sail into (relatively) unchartered (as far as long-term data and analysis go, anyway) waters, giving World Carnivore Month a red hot crack for yet another year.
Joe Rogan is at it again. Despite enduring horrific diarrhea and telling followers he trusted his bowels less than a shifty-looking Soviet agent when he tried it last year, he is doing World Carnivore Month again in 2023.
Rogan took to Instagram to write about his experience so far, and to provide some subtle shoutouts to the brands he is working with. “Today is day 10 of #worldcarnivoremonth and this is mostly what I’m eating; meat and eggs,” Rogan said.
“I cheated one day and had some sushi, and a couple bites of a salad, but for the most part all I’ve been eating for 10 days is animal based food. The red stuff is @senorlechugahotsauce, which is an awesome small batch hot sauce company out of NYC.”
“We did a collaboration, and released 3 sauces, including one of them that I loved that they did for my friends at @halfaceblades. If you like real serious heat and flavour check them out, but if you’re into more milder sauces they probably aren’t for you.”
“So far the 10 days have been great on this diet, but there’s a bit of an adjustment period for the first couple weeks where my workouts are a big of a slog. That’s what I’m going though now. Totally manageable, but the adjustment to no carbs takes a couple weeks to get used to.”
“I think I’m going to add in fruit to make that easier.”
For those that have been living under a Sirloin steak, the Carnivore Diet consists entirely of meat and animal products, excluding all other foods. According to Healthline, “It’s claimed to aid weight loss, mood issues, and blood sugar regulation, among other health issues.”
“However, the diet is extremely restrictive and likely unhealthy in the long term. Plus, no research backs its purported benefits.”
Healthline adds, “The Carnivore Diet stems from the controversial belief that human ancestral populations ate mostly meat and fish and that high-carb diets are to blame for today’s high rates of chronic disease.”
“Other popular low-carb diets, like the keto and paleo diets, limit but don’t exclude carb intake. However, the Carnivore Diet aims for zero carbs.”
On one side you have nutritionists who say the carnivore diet is micronutrient-suicide (not to mention featuring a scary lack of fibre). On the other, you have those like Mikhaila Peterson who reckon going all meat is an energy-boosting depression-curing weight-loss program that can cure arthritis, anxiety and autoimmune diseases – and get you shredded while you’re at it.
We’ll let you decide what you put on your fork for yourself, and we’re all for research into the weirdest and wackiest stuff, and questioning stodgy old assumptions, but the carnivore diet does seem a tad extreme…

A Ukrainian man has been found dead underneath a bridge on the notorious Canggu shortcut in Bali. This tragic death has sparked fresh calls for tourists to wear helmets, or to simply avoid riding motorbikes altogether in Bali.
Fresh calls for tourists to wear helmets on motorbikes in Bali have resounded online after the tragic death of a man on the Canggu shortcut. Police believe the 33 year old victim lost control of his motorbike and fell off the bridge, hitting his head on a concrete structure on the way down.
His body was found at 8am on January the 10th, hours after he is believed to have passed away. The bike was from a rental store in Canggu. I Wayan Seloka, a police spokesperson, told local media outlet Coconuts Bali that the man likely wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

In the wake of the tragic news, the expat community has come together to encourage each other to take more care on the roads, to always wear a helmet, and to rethink the need to ride motorbikes.
The Canggu Pole, usually a comedic Instagram page, shared a serious message, writing: “Y’all are quick with some judgements and blame and finger pointing surrounding this tragic death… Real talk tho… I been drunk crossing the shortcut before… it’s nothing I’m proud of but a lot of us do it.”

“How about we look out for each other??? Let’s not let each other go home alone, guy or girl. We just ‘yo you out?? Imma follow you.’ It ain’t much but it could mean everything just that one time and if nothing else it shows we care. We are one community here despite our differences. Let’s look out for each other no?”

The account added: “RIP. May your journey back to love be peaceful” and “and yes… let’s drive safely. Wear our helmets. And gojeck when we drunk.”
“If you’re not confident driving, just don’t do it. Gojek could literally [be] cheaper than a bike rental and 100% safer. Simple. Safe.”
The Canggu Pole
Instagram account @balilivin chimed in with a message of their own, writing: “Riding a scooter in Bali is as dangerous as anywhere else in the world! Please always wear a helmet and make sure you don’t risk your life by rent[ing] a scooter without an international driver’s license!”

When you own a superyacht, you’d think you’d learn to park it carefully. But apparently, that’s either not the case, or parking one of these magnificent vessels is not as easy as you think. This revelation comes as a bridge in the Caribbean continues to catch superyachts out, with yet another crashing into it.
A video bouncing around online shows the 43.4 metre superyacht Royal Denship Baca coming a cropper, crashing into the bridge entrance at Simpson Bay, on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. The incident occurred on January 8, 2023.
The video shows the yacht love scratching the bridge on its right hand side. The collision caused damage to the control booth. No one on the bridge or the shore was hurt. The video shows the crew continuing to work on the yacht after the crash so it appears the incident did not cause much human suffering (only paintwork and emotional cringe).
WATCH: 43 metre superyacht crashes in the Caribbean
BOAT International reports that windy weather conditions might have played a role in the not-so-pristine park, adding that “this is not the first time a yacht has collided with the bridge at Simpson Bay.” The outlet explained that “in 2019, the 86m superyacht Ecstasea suffered a similar incident.”
According to Simpson Bay Lagoon Authority (SLAC), the booth enjoyed “severe structural damage” and damaged wires leading to the operations consoles after the incident. The hit happened at 5pm local time and the bridge was back in business by early the next morning.
RELATED: Fire At Superyacht Shipyard A Millionaire’s Worst Nightmare
Superyacht Times reports that Baca was delivered in 2008 and has been regularly maintained over the years, boasting 498 GT, five staterooms and accommodation for 12 guests. The outlet also reports that Baca can host eight crew and has twin Caterpillar engines which allow it to cruise at 12.5 knots and reach speeds of 14 knots.

The last few years have not been kind to superyachts, with the Russian invasion of Ukraine leading to lots of seized vessels around the world. Lots of expensive hunks and hulls have also mysteriously gone up in flames in recent years too.

The British say the Germans do it. The Germans say the British are actually worse. Whoever’s to blame, the European custom of reserving sunbeds with towels for ridiculously long periods seems to be infiltrating Australia, if scenes from this Brisbane hotel’s pool are to be believed.
A TikTok posted by a Melburnian holidaymaker in Brisbane staying at The Calile Hotel in Fortitude Valley (one of BrisVegas’ hippest hotels) shows that as early as 5:45 am, hotel guests were already out in force, plonking their towels down on sunbeds by the chic hotel’s pool in order to reserve them before other guests arrive.
Many of the spot-hoggers weren’t even sticking around to swim or sunbake, they were just there to reserve the spots for later. By 6:52 am, every single sunbed, cabana and spot by the pool had been snapped up.
This selfish, ‘un-Australian’ behaviour has been roundly criticised online – with some Aussies worried that this sort of behaviour, which has long been one of the worst aspects of holidaying in Europe, is starting to infect Australia.
WATCH the #poolwars at The Calile below.
The whole practice of people reserving spots by beaches or pools with their towels is a contentious one. Some call it common courtesy – others hate it. A Welsh bus driver even got arrested back in 2007 after gathering up 20 towels laid down by German tourists and setting fire to them on an Italian beach, Metro reports.
Personally, we sympathise with the Welsh bloke. Remember when back in 2020, an entrepreneur unveiled plans to build a private beach club on Bondi Beach, and Australians savaged him for it? This sort of slavish towel-spreading inspires similar feelings of rage.
RELATED: Bondi’s ‘Amalfi Coast’ Ambition Forgets Uncomfortable Truth About European Beach Culture
One of the best aspects of Australian swimming culture is its egalitarianism. There’s nothing wrong with reserving a spot with your towel if you’re having a swim or quickly going to the toilet – but getting up at sparrow’s fart so you can hog a sunbed for hours is poor form.

We also want to know what sorts of psychos are waking up that early while on holiday…
It’s not all bad news, though. Reportedly, The Calile is enforcing a new rule that says if sunbeds are left unoccupied for longer than 15 minutes, they will be reallocated to other guests.

US rapper Denzel Curry has started freestylin’ on Qantas on Twitter, demanding the Australian airline find his lost bags immediately and enlisting the public to put pressure on the Flying Roo to jump to it…
Denzel Curry, the American rapper behind such hits as Ultimate, ULT and Walkin,’ who has been in Autralia to perform at such festivals as Field Day, has taken to Twitter to skewer the Australian airline Qantas for losing his bags.

For good measure he added: “Find My Bags @Qantas Find My Bags!” and jumped onto a post by Qantas about flying into 2023 dubbing it “leaving bags in 2023.”
A Jetstar employee named Katie responded to Denzel, writing: “Hi Denzel, as this involved one of our flights last night, we wanted to let you know we’re urgently looking into this. Once your bag is located it will be delivered to you. We’re really sorry for what’s happened, please DM us if you need further help. Thanks Katie.”
She added: “Hey Denzel, good news – we’ve found your bag. But we’re having trouble reaching you using the contact details on your booking. Please DM us to confirm your delivery address so we can get it to you ASAP. We’re sorry again for the inconvenience.”
One Twitter user backed Denzel up, writing: “If they don’t find the bag I’m personally taking the little kangaroo logo off of every plane they have btw.”

Other Twitter users chimed in to share Denzel’s woes, with one writing: “My bag broke in Jan last year on @Qantas and I still got nothin.”
Yet others bemoaned the fact that we don’t all have 678.5k followers to bully airlines (and their subsidiary budget carriers) into finding our bags.
The real question though is: why is Denzel Curry flying Jetstar?

The Bulgarian split squat is one of the most effective, yet hated lower body exercises there is. But if you thought that was hard, then just take a look at this variation…
Put forward by Dr Joel Seedman, owner of Advanced Human Performance and trainer to some of the NFL’s top players, he suggests we should add in “90 degree eccentric isometrics” to our Bulgarian split squats, through the use of resistance bands.
Taking to Instagram to show how this is performed, and using Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson as his guinea pig, Dr Seedman explains how his 90 degree eccentric isometric protocol (something he encourages for any movement) can help improve the much-maligned Bulgarian split squat.
WATCH: How to perform a chaos band Bulgarian split squat
Dr Seedman’s variation has a similar setup to the traditional Bulgarian split squat, in that the rear foot is raised behind you. In the traditional version, you would plant your rear foot on a bench, but in this variation, you plant it on a resistance band, which is attached to two posts. Adding a looped resistance band into your training is known as chaos band training.
The introduction of a resistance band over a bench provides instability, thereby putting a much greater emphasis on both the leading leg and your core, to keep the body stable to complete the movement. Barbend further explains that chaos band training “activates the body’s smaller stabilisers (shoulder, core and hips) while improving proprioception,” – the body’s ability to sense its location, movements, and actions.
Dr Seedman adds the introduction of his 90 degree eccentric isometric protocol “is not just the most effective method for improving athletic performance, stability, balance, explosive power, speed, and alignment but also for strength, muscle growth, and injury prevention.”
Another user adds a further explanation of what the Bulgarian split squat with chaos band does. They say, “Split squats with a chaos band increases the level of difficulty for both the plant leg and lumbopelvic hip complex. Not to mention it can help with mechanical elongation of a tight hip flexor.”
“This exercise works both the gluteus maximus and gluteus medius in plant leg.”
Patrick Peterson may appear to have a cool look on his face whilst performing the split squat variation, but we can guarantee they’re going to induce a grimaced look upon yours if you give them a try.

A spot apparently reminiscent of the Whitsunday’s, just one hour and 45 minutes’ drive from Sydney, is sending TikTok users into a frenzy. That spot? We’re calling it ‘brownhaven…’
Everyone likes to think they’ve discovered the Maldives of Australia or NSW’s best Greece alternative. The dramatic overseas comparisons sometimes fizzle when you actually get there though (Bendalong is not the same as Bora Bora). But what about when we compare local with local? TikTok user Nat Explores has just done just that, comparing the NSW south coast’s humble Minamurra River with the mighty Whitsundays.
Does her comparison stack up? Watch the video below and decide for yourself.
WATCH: TikTok user Nat Explores compares NSW’s Minamurra River with Queensland’s iconic attraction the Whitsundays
Over on TikTok, the video went as viral as a lightly contagious cold, with 280K people having a splutter. Comedic comments included: “For everyone wondering it’s mount druitt train station,” and “Are you sure you’ve been to the Whitsundays?”
Other remarks included warnings about the wildlife (“watch out for the bull sharks”) and requests not to blow up the spot (“noooo don’t tell everyone”).
“Haha have you even been to the Whitsundays, this isn’t even close.”
@kendal
Another TikTok user summer up popular sentiment by writing: “tell me you haven’t been to the Whitsundays without telling me… but fr this beach is still beautiful and I’ll have to check it out.”

Others tagged their friends saying “we’re going there tomorrow.”
Though, as DMARGE discovered last year, this stretch of coast is its own slice of heaven, with fun surf, wildife and surprisingly adequate Oat Milk Flat Whites, its sand isn’t quite on the eye popping level of the Whitsundays. Still: New South Wellians can dream…

Getting enough protein to create those rippling gains can be tough. And doing it without going over your calorie count can be even harder. But if you divide your target by the number of meals you’re having and have bigger portions of the higher percentage items, that can really help.
Protein is a prickly beast. Too much of it is a rarity but can cause you all sorts of problems. Not enough of it means that no matter how hard you work in the gym you won’t get bigger. And don’t get us started on getting enough protein without going over your calorie count.
To help you with this problem, coach Sam Forget has come in with a savvy Instagram post that has some solid gold tips on how to get the right amount of protein without consuming too many calories. Speaking to his followers, coach Sam said: “If you have weight loss goals this year, and you struggle to get enough protein without going over your calories… pay close attention to this.”
⠀
He then listed a bunch of protein high foods, including their so-called protein percentages. The list included chicken breasts (~95% protein), tuna (~95% protein), egg whites (~94% protein), pea protein (~90% protein), whey protein (~88% protein) and shrimp (~85% protein).
The next slide included sirloin steak (~75% protein), beef jerky (~75% protein), deli turkey (72% protein), 93/7 ground beef (~54% protein), 93/7 ground turkey (~53% protein) and salmon (~51% protein).
Next, there was another slide with tofu (~40% protein), flavoured greek yogurt (~37% protein), protein bars (~36% protein), cheese sticks (~35% protein), whole eggs (~34% protein) and edamame (~32% protein).
Finally, there was rib-eye steak (~31% protein), lentils (~31% protein), black beans (~24% protein), peanut butter (~17% protein), quinoa (~15% protein) and almonds (~14% protein).
Of the list, Sam said: “These percentages refer to how much of each item’s calories come from protein,” adding that “if you struggle to get enough protein without going over your calories, you’re probably not choosing enough items with a high percentage.”
He also said: “These numbers aren’t perfect, and you can probably find sets of nutrition facts that at least slightly contradict what you’re seeing. But the list isn’t supposed to be the be-all, end-all. It’s supposed to get you in the ballpark.”
“The lower percentage items are NOT ‘bad,’ or inherently ‘worse.’ Plenty of them offer meaningful amounts of protein.”
He finished: “The easiest way to get more protein is to divide your target by how many meals you’re having (ex. 120 grams per day spread across three meals = ~40 grams per meal), and have bigger portions of the higher percentage items.”
“I know this sounds painfully simple – but many people start their day with 10-15 grams of protein or have a protein-less lunch and wonder why they struggle to ‘catch up’ later on.”
There you have it. Put that on a fork and eat it. A strategy we’re willing to bet more than a bunch of gym enthusiasts will be willing to try.
