37 Times Russell Westbrook Proved He's The NBA's Most Stylish Mofo
37 Times Russell Westbrook Proved He's The NBA's Most Stylish Mofo

He’s the 2017 NBA MVP. He was seen at Paris Fashion Week last week wearing wide legged trousers. Controversy! He split up with his on-court BFF last year only to have said BFF win an NBA Championship….. but he’s still MVP. So maybe it’s okay between them? Who cares.

From off court to backstage Russell Westbrook continues to prove why he’s the most stylish man in the NBA… possibly even sport in the US of A. Why? Because he’s willing to take fashion risks and doesn’t really give a fuck.

Once again we talk about his latest wide legged trouser look or loud head to toe prints, dyed denim Canadian tuxedos, sublime sneaker game, crisp shirts and rolling into NBA games like he’s just got off a catwalk. He’s all about risks and we love that.

We decided to dig up 49 occasions where Russell Westbrook broke the rules and owned some off-court style action.

Eddie Redmayne Channels Everyone's Favourite Wizard In London

We love Eddie Redmayne for many reasons. Maybe it’s because of his boyish charm, he’s an OMEGA ambassador, has classic gentlemanly style or simply because he’s a damn good actor. Regardless, we had a little chuckle when he stepped out in London for the The Lee Alexander McQueen Foundation Presents The Art Of Curating Fashion.

Hello, Harry

Correct us if we’re wrong but Eddie does kind of look like it’s his first day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

His boyish spectacles, sensible sweat combined with a varsity style sweat is perfect. What delivers the knockout punch is his backpack. Who goes to an event with a backpack? More importantly what’s in the backpack? Books? Magic spells?

How Not To Get Arrested Or Shot In Mexico
How Not To Get Arrested Or Shot In Mexico

Maybe you’re bound for this chic minimalist hotel or Mexico City’s Spectre-inspired Day of the Dead parade. Maybe you want to visit an island of creepy dolls or an underwater museum. Maybe you’re going because you’ve just been dumped.Whatever the reason, you’re heading to Mexico and hoping to return with your money and your limbs intact. You’ve come to the right place. Here you’ll find our guide to Mexico etiquette – not just simple social faux pas that will get you labelled a tourist faster than a camera and a Hawaiian shirt, but the kind that could land you in jail or put your life at risk. Follow these rules and you’re free explore the spectacular art, history, architecture, beaches, and rich traditions of this enchanting land, you savvy traveller you.

Imbibe Indoors

Scrub any images of tossing back tequila shots in the streets from your mind. Though you may see the rule being flouted in popular tourist destinations, drinking in the street is technically illegal in Mexico. Travellers have been punished – even jailed – for public drunkenness. Authorities in border towns are particularly vigilent when it comes to penalising foreigners who visit for the sole purpose of partying themselves into oblivion.

Approach Other Intoxicants With Extreme Caution

Hollywood may love pushing out action-packed cartel movies, but Mexico is not a safehaven for brazen drug-taking. In fact, Mexicans are not big consumers of illicit substances themselves. Most of the country’s production is for export, and drug-related offenses are serious federal crimes. Anyone approaching you on the street offering drugs could be a set-up by police – either hoping to fill space in their empty jail cells or looking to nab numbskull tourists for extortion purposes. Convicted offenders face hefty fines and long sentences.

Watch Your Mouth

“Stupid” barely registers as a mild diss on the scale of insults to an English speaker, but calling someone “estúpido” is highly offensive in Mexico – almost on the level of a four-letter word. Don’t be confused by their seemingly easy translation. If you must sling an affront to someone’s intelligence, you’re better off with something like “bobo” or “tonto”.

Don’t Be Careless

Carry your Louis Vuitton bag at your own risk. While much of Mexico is safe to explore, crime is still a problem in parts. Apply common sense to avoid pickpocketing (or worse). Don’t flaunt your valuables, hail taxis on the street, or wander into unsafe neighbourhoods. Leave important documents and other belongings in your hotel. Don’t flash large sums of money in public places. Don’t follow someone trying to get your attention in the street – muggers and kidnappers are known to use this tactic to lure victims into less-trafficked areas.

Avoid Touchy Subjects

All the usual dicey subjects should be avoided in polite conversation, along with a few that are specially relevent while visiting Mexico. Don’t talk politics – you’re unlikely to have a sufficient grasp of the Mexican political system to carry on an intelligent discussion. Don’t talk religion (more on that below). Don’t discuss drugs or narcos. Don’t make insensitive comments about immigration to the US or how cheap everything seems to you in Mexico. Don’t try to be funny by tacking an O to the end of English words. Essentially: don’t put yourself in danger and don’t be a dick.

Tread Lightly Around Religion In Particular

Religion is a sensitive topic almost anywhere, but it’s especially delicate in Mexico. The 2010 census reported that around 91% of Mexico’s population is Catholic, making it the second largest Catholic country in the world after Brazil. Do not be insulting towards or express contempt for religious buildings, figures, clergy, or art. Tread especially lightly where the Virgin of Guadalupe is concerned, as the Virgin is deeply entangled with Mexican identity.

Don’t Eat Turtle Eggs

Members of some Mexican indigenous communities have historically sold and consumed sea turtle eggs. Though the practice has been banned since 1990, and turtle nests are closely guarded by troops and drones, it’s possible to find sellers peddling the protected eggs if you know where to look. Poachers risk five-digit fines and nearly a decade in prison if they’re caught. You’re not likely to fare much better.

Steer Clear Of Flashy Guys Waving Wads Of Cash In Nightclubs

Worst case, they’re connected to a cartel. Best case, they’re ordinary assholes you don’t want to associate with anyway.

Jaguar Unleashes Its Most Powerful Production Car Ever
Jaguar Unleashes Its Most Powerful Production Car Ever

Jaguar have followed in the footsteps of cars like the Alfa Romeo QV by turning their humble compact sedan into an absolute beast. How beastly exactly? Try their most powerful production car ever.

Developed under the new wing of Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO Technical Centre), the lab coat named XE SV Project 8 is propelled by a big supercharged 5.0-litre V8 punching out 441kW of power and 700Nm of torque. In the stats game that affords the ginger rocket a top speed of 322km/h and a 0 – 100km/h sprint time of just 3.3 seconds.

All of the car’s fury is put down to the road via an all-wheel-drive system paired to an 8-speed transmission for rapid shifting through the gears with stopping power taken care of by carbon ceramic units. Cosmetically the car also receives some aggressive upgrades in the form of aluminum body panels including flared fenders, an adjustable front splitter, adjustable rear wing and a carbon fibre rear bumper.

The car will come in two variations – the ‘standard’ model which comes in a four-seat layout or a track edition which wipes out the rear seats in favour of a roll cage and racing harness.

Now for the bad news. Australia will miss out as the vehicle is only being built in left-hand-drive and will come with a limited production run of just 300 examples. On the flip side, you do save yourself $250,000.

Watch the video below to see what the world’s fastest production Jaguar looks like in action.

And The Best Dressed Award Ceremony In Sport Goes To…

The annual MVP Awards is considered the NBA‘s night of nights where team jerseys get traded in for flashy suits, tuxedos and the boldest concoction of formal athleisure wear you’ll ever witness.

This year’s show was no different with star players like Russell Westbrook, Draymond Green, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Malcolm Brogdon and Eric Gordon all making an appearance alongside Drake who was taking on hosting duties. The night’s most notable wardrobe scores involved three-piece suits paired with tartan trousers, white tuxedos and classic slim fit suits shod in bight hues that simply demanded attention on the red carpet.

There was no shortage of those who went down the quirky route either with fluoro tuxedos paired with shorts, long coats which resembled dresses, joggers paired with dress shirts and cheetah print sneakers. The MVP Awards is a mixed bag at the best of times when it comes to style, and that’s why we love it. Unlike these fuccbois who took over the recent Paris Fashion Week.

Step Inside Sydney's Coolest Motoring Cafes
Step Inside Sydney's Coolest Motoring Cafes

Drop that skinny mocha frappuccino and listen up, men. There comes a time when the average cup of liquid gold from the local beanery just doesn’t cut it. You want something more. You want real eye candy as opposed to that hipster behind the counter rocking a mo from the late 1800s, a quiff from the 60s and an apron with more straps than an S&M orgy involving baby seals.

This is better than that and you’re better than that. These are the coolest motorcycle and car cafes Sydney town has to offer.

Kollector Cars & Coffee

Image: Godspeed Photography

The latest addition to Sydney’s infant motoring cafe scene is also one of the trendiest. Kollector is run by Neil Burmester, a car lover first and foremost, and a coffee lover by nature. The Scandinavian-style minimalist space is tucked down a short alleyway in Sydney’s inner-west and provides just enough space for small car gatherings whilst providing the perfect shopfront for Kollector’s collection of classic cars on sale. Visitors can grab a Single Origin coffee before getting up close and personal with the constantly rotating collection of gems as they arrive on the showroom floor. A must-visit for those who appreciate a friendly environment for a good old yarn about cars and other like-minded petrol heads.

7A Norton St, Leichhardt

Classic Throttle Shop

If fine classic cars in a stunning location is what you’re after then Classic Throttle Shop on Sydney’s north side is where you need to be. The classic car showroom adjoins the Cafe Throttle Shop in a fine balance of precious metal and damn good coffee. How good? Think $30 million worth of cars and bikes hailing from the 50s, 60s and 70s all housed within a heritage listed building that sits right at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. And if it’s the coffee you’re here for, you won’t be disappointed as the cafe boasts a superbly restored classic Italian 1970s Eterna coffee machine – the only one of its kind in Sydney.

50/64 Pacific Hwy, North Sydney

Rising Sun Workshop

Rising Sun Workshop is as much about community as it is about coffee. The cool warehouse space is Sydney’s first communal motorcycle workshop and cafe serving Newtown Single Origin Roasters coffee, baked goods and Ramen all under the one roof. Crazy? Crazy-cool more like it. Be sure to pop in for a bite before perusing through the glorious bikes being tinkered with in the connecting workshop.

1C Whateley St, Newtown

Deus Bar & Kitchen

You’d need to be living under a rock during the past few years if you haven’t heard of Deus Ex Machina. What started in Sydney way back in 2006 as a movement which celebrated customised motorcycles has today become a global movement for those who love the rich culture that comes along with vintage rides. Forming part of Sydney’s Deus Ex Machina showroom is the Deus Bar & Kitchen which serves up a mean menu with some of Sydney’s finest chefs and baristas. It’s also big enough to cater for large groups whilst serving an endless supply of eye candy on wheels.

98-104 Parramatta Rd, Camperdown

Gosford Classic Car Museum

Image: Matthew Everingham

We’re cheating on this one a bit as the Gosford Classic Car Museum is more museum than dedicated cafe. But hey, they do have a throwback 1964 Airstream kitchen cafe which does decent grub and coffee. Those coming this way will of course be here to scope out the sales and stunning machinery on display from the classics right through to the modern classics.

This Could Be The Most Expensive Porsche To Ever Go On Sale
This Could Be The Most Expensive Porsche To Ever Go On Sale

Picture the most expensive Porsche to ever go on sale. $1 million…$2 million…how about $4 million? Try $16 million. That’s what one particular Porsche is expected to go for when it hits the auctions at Pebble Beach in August for the Concours d’Elegance.

The highly-prized car is a Le Mans icon in the form of a 1970 Porsche 917K. What makes it special is the car’s racing pedigree which has seen it run for tests at the famed Nürburgring and Ehra Lessien before being sold to Swiss racing driver, Jo Siffert. Under Siffert’s ownership the car was used in the production of the iconic racing film, Le Mans, which in turn helped this particular car become a screen icon.

Even after Siffert’s death from a Formula One accident in 1971, the car was still used in his funeral parade. Currently there are only 12 examples of the 917K in the world with each one running a 4.9-litre V12 pushing out 448kW and 563Nm of torque.

Want a piece of motor sport history in your garage? The 917K is expected to sell for between $13,000,000 and $16,000,000.

For more details head over to Gooding & Company or just watch the video below without needing to sell any of your organs.

The World's Top 10 Travel Influencers, According To Forbes
The World's Top 10 Travel Influencers, According To Forbes

Like it or not, “travel influencer” is a bona fide job in the tech-savvy, heavily filtered age of Instagram and Snapchat. These perma-sightseers have racked up serious air miles and follower counts with their impossibly aspirational snaps of sunsets and cityscapes. And though you likely want to scoff at their so-called “careers” (it’s just envy, admit it), they now carry so much clout even Forbes is recognising them.Forbes‘ infamous annual Rich List has just been joined by its first Top 10 Travel Influencers list. These are the biggest names in the travel blogosphere and the grinning mugs that constantly pop up on your Instagram feed – the guys and gals raking in the dough via tourism board partnerships and paid promotions, while also inspiring thousands of bucket lists with their images and insider tips.Meet the 10 travellers who made the cut for 2017 below.

#10 Adventurous Kate

This ferris wheel in #Chernobyl never got to spin — and then nature reclaimed it. A fair was set to open on May 1, 1986, in the Chernobyl-adjacent city of #Pripyat. The nuclear reactor exploded on April 26, but USSR authorities wanted to keep it quiet. Many people in Pripyat fell ill. But nobody was evacuated for almost 24 hours. They were told they were leaving for three days; they never returned. The homes, the stores, the schools, the hospital remained untouched for 30 years. So did the carnival rides, waiting for celebrants that never arrived. Nature continued on. If you look carefully, you can see buildings through every grove of trees. It shows you what would happen to the world if humans vanish — because the planet will always survive. It’s just a question of whether the human race will. #jaywayukraine #ukraine

A post shared by Kate McCulley (@adventurouskate) on

The blogger known as ‘Adventurous Kate’ started her first site in 2002 as a college freshman, and launched its current incarnation in 2010. Kate focuses on female solo travel and regularly collaborates with tourist boards in locations as diverse as Finland and Malta.

#9 Chris Burkard

Burkard started blogging back in 2009. As a staff photographer for a surfing magazine, he was looking for an outlet for work that had gotten lost in the shuffle. He remains a commercial photographer – partnering with brands like Patagonia, Toyota, and SwissAir – as well as an avid preservationist, with a particular focus on Iceland.

#8 Johnny Jet

A post shared by Johnny Jet | Los Angeles (@johnnyjet) on

After conquering his fears, he became addicted to exploring the world and started accruing miles and points. He launched a newsletter in 1995 and a website in 1999, making him one of the world’s very first travel influencers.

#7 Louis Cole
