Formula One racing supremo Lewis Hamilton has just launched an ultra-exclusive edition of IWC Schaffhausen’s Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar timepiece that frankly, has gone straight to the top of our Christmas wish list.
The recently crowned six-time world champion is sponsored by the Swiss watchmaker, which, to commemorate the Briton’s achievements on the track, has created a bordeaux red version of its iconic Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar, but restricted it to just 100 pieces.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5awonEnsV_/
This particular Lewis Hamilton edition features a black ceramic casing, bordeaux red dial, an 18-carat 5N (read: rose) gold crown, rotor and case-back, along with a matching bordeaux red textile strap. Under the hood you’ll find IWC’s very own 52-calibre movement and the Falcon logo, along with Lewis’ name engraved on the rotor.
As the name suggests, this model also comes with a perpetual calendar, which, just in case you didn’t know, knows how many days are in each month, so automatically adjusts for a leap year.
IWC unveiled the head-turning timekeeper at the launch of its new Abu Dhabi boutique on the 28th of November. The man himself, Lewis Hamilton, was in attendance in a matching burgundy outfit, before he takes to the track for one last time this season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit this coming weekend.

There’s no word just yet on pricing, but considering its exclusive nature, don’t expect it to come cheap. With ‘regular’ Big Pilot Perpetuals starting at around AU$30,000 and rising to AU$60,000, you best get saving.
The man from Stevenage, UK already wrapped up his sixth world title earlier this year, and sealed the constructor’s championship with teammate, Valtteri Bottas for Mercedes even further back into the 2019 season.
It’s not the first time IWC has presented its superstar ambassador with a limited edition watch for winning the world title. The watchmaker best start coming up with new design ideas because there’s no sign of Lewis slowing down just yet.

When men have time to tinker with something, the result will be either be monumentally ingenious or a bloody mess never to be spoken of again.
We think Netherlands-based bodywork specialist van Thull Development is on to an absolute winner with one of its latest projects: a Porsche Boxster Shooting Brake. Yes, you read that correctly. Some crazy Dutchman has taken a 986-generation Porsche Boxster, lopped the soft-top roof off and is in the process of replacing it with an elongated, hard-top that curves down into the rear window assembly.
Shooting brake vehicles will always be cool, but the body style is dying a slow death, with car manufacturers opting for a more traditional estate design or the ever-popular SUV. The term shooting brake can be traced back to the 1890s, where it described a horse-drawn carriage that took hunting parties to their shoot. The term was shunned by the arrival of the estate, although some manufacturers still used it, but not necessarily in reference to the game hunts of old.
Today, hunters tend to pile into Land Rovers, leaving the shooting brake to be driven by motorheads who value its rarity and head-turning style. There aren’t many genuine examples around anymore, although the Ferarri FF could stake a claim, while Porsche itself refers to its Panamera Sport Turismo as sporting the stylish body.
Clearly, van Thull Developments has been waiting for Porsche to employ the design on its other cars, but since it hasn’t obliged, has taken matters into its own hands. The project has been in development since at least May (you can view its history on the company’s Instagram page) and has since benefitted from a set of 911 rear lights. Everything else about the rear end is custom-built, save from the glass panel, which has been taken from a “donor car.”
We can’t wait to see the final outcome. A custom-built Porsche shooting brake. Can you get any cooler?

Lebron James has always dominated the court but he’s now taking on the world of style too. That’s right: The King, widely regarded as the only guy to contend with Michael Jordan for the title of ‘greatest basketball player of all time’, especially in years of late, is making some off-court moves as worthy of attention as his jump shot.
Case in point: snapped at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas for the LA Lakers vs San Antonio Spurs game on November the 26th, King James shows us all how to rock monochromatic style. Looking cool as a wind nipped icicle on his way to the game, James’ outfit sent hypebeasts into meltdown as they longed to know the brands he was wearing.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5VWWM5g43L/
Some of his outfit was obvious: the three-time NBA Champion was wearing a grey John Elliot denim jacket – LeBron has previously teamed up with the fashion brand to create a signature line – matching grey Dries Van Noten sweatshirt, Thom Browne trousers, and A Cold Wall x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. The sneakers are sold out virtually everywhere, but resale sites have them from anywhere between US$165 and $281.
But it was LeBron’s hat that was the star of this particular show, with various Instagram users, such as the__corner dying to know where it was from: “Need to know who made the hat” they asked, (and for the first day or so after the photo came out, to no avail). Fortunately, French fashion brand Larose Paris piped up yesterday to claim James’ hat is their 5 Panel model. The maker of his bag remains an enigma.
Amour for Lebron’s hat aside, the feedback for his overall ensemble was not a complete swish. In fact, the fit of his trousers was called into question; while some users claimed it was a “dope fit,” another said, “Lebron pants never touches his sneakers [sic].” One user even questioned the rather simplistic colour scheme: “Too monochromatic.”

While his personal Instagram account mainly reflects his basketball career, Lebron likes to include the odd post to prove he’s a style mogul – and display his crazy wealth at the same time, no doubt. And let’s not forget the time he flaunted his own signature Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watch, worth a cool AU$101,000.
We can certainly learn a thing or two from the King of the Court, namely that he’s a master of rocking elusive fashion brands.

Selecting the right footwear for the summer is something all style-minded Australian men should think about. There’s no use keeping your fur-lined winter boots out, unless of course, you want to sweat out a few grams of weight from your feet. Loafers and boat shoes are always our go-to styles. Simple, stylish and comfortable, they’ll be your best friend when the temperature soars.
Sandals are a perfectly viable option for the modern-day gent, too, and with a vast range of fashion brands producing strappy shoes for guys, the choice isn’t always easy. RIA Menorca may have made that choice a little easier though, by showing us what style to avoid this summer: the Avarca sandal.
Avarca is the name given to the actual style of sandal, and is incredibly popular in Spain’s Balearic Islands, particularly Menorca. No prizes for guessing where RIA got its name, then. Avarca sandals are incredibly simple in their design, combining a rubber sole with a leather upper. Original Avarca sandals used recycled car tyres for the sole, but the modern-day reissue uses rubber and a purpose-made mould.

Luka Sabbat may be able to pull them off… but that’s about it. Plus, a quick look at RIA Menorca’s Instagram page shows chicas are the target market. Not that there’s anything wrong with flouting the gender section of your local outlet, but in this case, as the odd (in every sense of the word) images of men sporting avarca sandals on RIA Menorca’s Instagram attest), it just doesn’t work.
View this post on Instagram
We’re not against men showing a bit of toe or heel, but only when the sandal has a bit of hunk. Think Birkenstock, Grenson or Saint Laurent. All of these companies employ a simple strapped design for their sandals, but show off more of the foot in the process. The covered nature of RIA Menorca’s design just doesn’t quite cut it in our lookbook.
Don’t believe us? Jeff Lack, leading Sydney stylist says:
“These are the stand out worst look for men this season, aside from those flatform rubber numbers floating around, they scream primary school teacher. With loads of cool men’s sandal options, this isn’t an option I’d recommend for any of my clients or shoots. Go classic, think of the Lord and leather, you can’t go wrong.”
So fellas, next time you’re shopping for a summer sole, look to Jesus as your guiding light. Shaun Birley (the guy pictured above) may be the stylish man’s saviour when it comes to everything else (seriously, whether it’s drinking coffee in Italy or reclining in business class, he’s a legend), but when it comes to sandals, we’re not sold.

We all want muscles that ripple like racing yachts, but the demands of life leave many of us looking like deflated dingies – something David Laid, a 21-year-old Estonian-American fitness influencer (and New York model), knows all too well, having gone from ‘zero to hero’ in six years.
The fitness model documented his journey on social media, becoming an Instagram and Youtube personality, primarily known for his transformation videos. He has over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and over 931k subscribers on YouTube.

So: how did he go from ‘skinny kid down the skatepark’ to Adonis? His insane workouts, which he regularly posts on Instagram, are a start. From pull-ups and rope climbs on Venice beach…
… to low volume push workouts (including bench, shoulder press, DB laterals, cable flys and dips)…
… to cable rows and dumbell flys…

… to ridiculous box jumps, David is an inspiration to us all.
David typically trains six days a week for two hours per session and splits his training schedule between push, pull and legs workout sessions. He is also a Gymshark sponsored athlete and a New York based model, reclining for the camera on a freelance basis.
So, how do you get to look like him? One of the most common questions bodybuilders face is whether they are ‘natty’ or on steroids. David Laid, for his part, despite specifically claiming his transformation was natural in early videos, has been accused of being on the gear by jealous internet commenters some internet blogs (see: aretheyonsteroids.com).
View this post on Instagram
As The Famous People reported, “Aretheyonsteroids.com carefully picked out him licking his lips twice during one of his most popular videos while talking about steroids, claiming it to be a psychological evidence that he is lying [when denying steroid use]. Moreover, he goes out of his way to repeatedly defend using steroids stating that it does not make one a bad person.”
“He goes on to say that those steroid users should be condemned who sell products claiming to be natty and those competing professionally. Interestingly, he does neither. Finally, he wore a ‘Half Natty’ hoodie at the Arnold Classic expo, which many interprets as either he was on steroids at some point of time, or he took low doses of steroids.”
“Nevertheless,” The Famous People continued, “most of his critics agree that he doesn’t have any obvious steroid symptoms and it is possible to achieve his physique naturally.” If that aim is on your hit list, we suggest adding a few of his compound workouts to your weekly schedule, whether that be deadlifts…

… or squats.

Then, if you’re not satisfied you can ‘indulge’ in a few more targeted exercises like bicep curls…

Guys, when it comes to online dating, in particular, dating apps such as Tinder, you need to make sure you stand out from the sea of shameless gym selfies; washboard abs and even the odd eggplant emoji. That’s where the bio section of your profile comes in; a space for you to share what interests you, what sort of person you are and ultimately create a great first impression for damsels in dating distress.
No matter how good you think your bio may be, it will pale in comparison to the profile The Poke found for this anonymous user. We’re constantly told that honesty is the best policy, and that’s exactly what this bachelor has done. Describing a previous date gone horribly wrong, what should be an embarrassing and cringe-worthy story, actually comes across as a hilarious anecdote.
Giving us all a lesson in how to casually make a mockery of yourself, the then 20-year-old tells us of a time he failed to pull off the oldest move in the book for men wanting to take things to the next level with their newfound companion. What should have been a simple yawn, stretch and arm around the shoulder movement, turned into an awkward ordeal for our singleton that saw him resting his arm on his date’s head for a solid five minutes.
He doesn’t tell us how his armrest date reacted, but as he’s on Tinder five years later, it’s probably safe to say it didn’t end well.
So guys, take heed. Be open and honest in your Tinder profile, just don’t make a tit of yourself when you manage to secure yourself a date.
