Who Is David Beckham?
David Beckham was born on 2 May 1975 to parents Sandra and David Beckham. He has an older sister, Lynne Georgina Beckham and a younger sister, Joanne Louise Beckham. He grew up on the outskirts of London, England, and attended Chingford County High School.
From a young age, Beckham always had his sights set on a career in football, which was spurred on by his parents’ love for Manchester United – he even won the chance to attend a training session with the Barcelona football team, after attending a soccer school hosted by Manchester United legend, Bobby Charlton.
He played for various local teams, along with trials for Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur, but when he was 16, he signed a Youth Training Scheme contract with Manchester United.
Football Career
Manchester United

David Beckham was part of a youth training squad at Manchester United alongside Ryan Giggs, Gary and Phil Neville, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, whom he would go onto play in the first team with and win a number of trophies.
Following a season-long loan spell at Preston North End, Beckham returned to Manchester United and made his League debut in 1995. His Premier League opening day goal in 1996 against Wimbledon, wherein he scored from the halfway line, is widely regarded as one of the best opening day goals of all time.
For the 1997 season, Beckham began wearing the number 7 shirt, which he would keep the remainder of his Manchester United career, and helped cement it as the number given to some of the club’s greatest players, which has included Cristiano Ronaldo.
Beckham helped Manchester United win the treble – Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League – in the 1998/99 season. His relationship with manager Sir Alex Ferguson deteriorated during the early 00s and he eventually made a move to Spanish club Real Madrid in 2003.
Real Madrid
David Beckham was a star signing for Real Madrid and he joined a team full of football legends. By this time, he was a household name around the world, which Real capitalised upon.
However, having next won the La Liga Championship with Real Madrid, Beckham left in 2007, just four years after joining the club. He decided to make a move to the US and join LA Galaxy.
LA Galaxy

Thanks to David Beckham’s huge global awareness, his signing for LA Galaxy caused not only a surge in fanbase for the club, but the Major League Soccer series as a whole. A notable clause from his contract with LA Galaxy stated Beckham would be able to buy an MLS expansion franchise in any market except New York City at a fixed price of $25 million whenever he stopped playing in the league.
It was this clause that allowed him to eventually found Inter Miami CF. During his time at LA Galaxy , Beckham was loaned out to Italian club A.C. Milan on two separate occasions, predominantly so he could maintain match fitness to help him compete in the 2010 World Cup with the England team.
Beckham eventually helped LA Galaxy with two successive MLS Cup Finals.
Paris Saint-Germain
David Beckham joined French club Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, and he donated his entire salary during his five-month deal with the club to a local children’s charity.
Inter Miami CF
David Beckham exercised the clause in his LA Galaxy contract back in 2014, when he announced he would create Inter Miami CF. The club made its MLS debut on 1 March 2020.
David Beckham Family

While his on-field prowess helped him achieve global fame, it was David Beckham’s relationship with Spice Girl Victoria Adams that attracted media attention off-field. The couple married on 24 January 1999, with their then four-month-old son Brooklyn, being ring bearer.
David and Victoria now have four children: sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and daughter, Harper Seven. Brooklyn and Romeo have both done modelling work, and all three sons have played for the Arsenal Football Academy.
David Beckham Net Worth
Thanks to a stellar football career and global marketing potential, David Beckham has amassed a net worth of $450 million.
Some of his well-known sponsorships and endorsements include being an ambassador for sportswear giant Adidas, whose football boots he wore throughout the duration of his playing career. In 2013, he signed a $160 million lifetime agreement with the company.
He has also helped to promote The Walt Disney Company and he previously had a sponsorship contract with PepsiCo. He has also been the face of Maserati and has previously launched his own range of David Beckham Perfume. He and his wife Victoria agreed upon a $13.7 million deal to launch their first fragrance back in 2007.
Where does David Beckham live?
Beckham owns a number of properties, including two houses in the United Kingdom; a huge $31 million mansion in London’s Holland Park and a converted farmhouse in The Cotswolds, along with an apartment in Miami so he can be close to the football club he founded, Inter Miami CF.
David Beckham Tattoos

David Beckham has more than 65 tattoos on his body, with many on his hands, neck and even on the back of his head. He has tattoos of his wife and children’s names, along with a few others that pay tribute to his daughter. Some of his other tattoos have religious meanings and he even has one of the solar system.
The vast majority of David’s tattoos have been carried out by either London-based tattoo artist Mark Mahoney or Manchester-based Luke Malloy. In doing so, Beckham’s tattoos maintain a consistent look.

Some of David’s most recognisable tattoos include a crucifix with wings on the back of his neck, several roses around the front of his neck, and a flock of birds behind his left ear. He has his sons names tattooed on his back, along with an angel, also in the crucifix position and also with wings.
David Beckham Hairstyles
Something else that has garnered much intentional attention for David Beckham over the years has been his ever-changing hairstyles. Throughout his career he has rocked virtually every popular men’s hairstyle under the sun, including a man bun, curtains, buzz cuts and even peroxide bleaching.
You can view a full round-up of some of David Beckham’s most iconic hairstyles, here.
David Beckham Style
David Beckham is also a certified style icon, at least, post-football career. He regularly steps out in impeccably fitting clothing, whether it’s smart casual, formal or even setting trends for upcoming seasons. Put simply, he very rarely puts a foot wrong, so if you’re serious about style, you need to be following his Instagram account for this reason alone.
He’s a lover of watches too and is an ambassador for Swiss watch brand Tudor.

There’s a genius way to get yourself a date that doesn’t involve apps but does involve your dog… Man’s best friend indeed.
Not too long ago, I treated myself to a nice brunch at a local cafe. Just me, myself and I. It’s called self-care.
However, during my brunch, I noticed a young man just standing around with his dog and over the hour that I enjoyed my eggs benny and chai latte I realised he has come up with a brilliant dating strategy.
Obviously, dogs attract other dogs, so this guy was repeatedly approached by people also out and about with their dogs.
But whenever a good looking young woman’s dog went to his dog for a friendly sniff, this man would strike up a conversation and prolong it for as long as he could; it was obvious to me, from a distance, that he was trying to pick up.

I have to admit, he was not over the top and didn’t give off creepy vibes; he was just friendly and a little flirty – hilarious because whenever an old man and his dog approached this dude, he’d only smile and maybe say “hey” but that was it.
In this day and age, dogs are more popular than ever and after an abundance of people went out and got COVID puppies to keep them company during long lockdowns, it’s actually rather clever to use your dog as an opener.
So fellas, if you’re unlucky in love and have a cute pooch, make sure that if and when the dog of someone you’d potentially like to take out on a date comes up and plays with your dog, shoot your shot; as this influencer believes, men are too dependent on dating apps and should be more willing to strike up conversations with strangers.
It’s important though not to come off as desperate or creepy though, so make sure you keep things lighthearted and back off if you sense the woman in question is not interested; especially as she may get her dog to bite you if you’re too persistent.

Anyone who is a regular attendee at a gym will probably have a set program to follow each week. Some choose to break things up by muscle group: chest; arms; back; legs, for example. Others follow a slightly broader push, pull, legs, full body workout routine.
While some industry experts will claim the push/pull split is the most effective because it groups various muscle groups together and will allow for more effective recovery, breaking things down into more specific groups can still be just as good.
But when you want to torch your entire body in one hit, only a full body workout will do. A full body workout is a great option for the last gym session of the week, following a couple of upper body workouts and a serious leg session, with some core and abs work thrown in to each one.

What Is A Full Body Workout?
Full body workouts, as their name literally implies, work your entire body. Not only does this make them a time saver, but they’re documented as being more beneficial for building strength and muscle.
This is because when you workout just your upper body, for example, you’re not building up the muscle in your lower body. The lower body may eventually become too weak to support the extra muscular weight of the upper body, potentially causing injury.
Full body workouts negate this problem, working all major muscle groups equally. They can also be used as excellent body fat burners at the same time. Put simply, you need to be adding full body workouts into your routine.
Full Body Workout Tips
As with anything gym-related, you don’t want to cause injury to yourself. And the best way to avoid injury is to forget about seeing how much weight you can lift and instead focus on lifting a lighter weight correctly. The right form and technique applied to your full body workout is going to get you far further in your strength-building journey, compared to if you try to lift too much, cause yourself an injury and you can’t attend the gym for several weeks.
You don’t necessarily need to perform all of these full body workout exercises every single time you go to the gym, but aim to include them in your workout routine throughout your week, as they are essential for effective muscle building.
It’s always said that if you’re looking to build muscle, you should aim to complete a higher number of reps of each full body workout movement to enter a hypertrophy state. This means performing 10-12 reps of each exercise for 3-4 sets, maybe even 5. If you go down this route, it’s perfectly fine to keep the weight a little lighter.
If you’re looking to build strength, you’re free to increase the weight (while still keeping it manageable) but perform fewer reps. Anything from 5 – 8 reps is perfectly valid, and you only need to perform 3-4 sets.
Best Full Body Workouts & Exercises
Rather than provide example workout sessions, we’re going to round-up the best exercises and movements that you can include and bundle together into an effective full body workout routine. Naturally, we’ve included compound exercises – the ones that work multiple muscle groups at the same time – along with some others that either work a few muscle groups at once, or complement others and can be worked into a superset.
Deadlifts
Deadlifts are the daddy of weightlifting moves. They target several muscles at the same time, including your quads, glutes, calves and hamstrings in your legs, your mid-back and upper-back and even the traps. They’ve also been documented to burn more fat and calories than cardio workouts, because they require an incredible amount of energy to perform.
It’s this extra level of effort required that reinforces the notion of not lifting too heavy, too quickly. Try to lift too much and you really do risk causing yourself a nasty injury, so start off light to get the technique right before progressing.
How to perform this full body workout: To perform a deadlift, get yourself into a squat position and grab the barbell (or dumbbells or kettlebells, depending on what you choose to lift) with your hands around shoulder-width apart. Stand with your feet underneath the bar and try to keep your shins as straight as possible. It’s ok to bend your knees a little, but too much will end up engaging the quads more, and this movement is more about glutes and hamstrings. Brace your upper body by locking down your shoulder blades.
Once you feel secure and stable, it’s time to lift. Push through your feet and raise your upper body from the hip joint, as opposed to using your back to bring you up. Keep the bar as close to your body at all times during the lift. You can even have it physically touch you so you’re sliding it up and down your legs to make it easier.
Make sure to keep the tempo slow and controlled throughout the entire duration of the movement. With regards to grip, you ideally want to be using an overhand grip as much as you can. If you find the weight becomes a little too much on your third or fourth set, for example, you can switch to an overhand-underhand grip to help with the load.
Barbell Back Squat
While the barbell back squat can definitely be considered a fundamental lower body movement, it requires the use of some upper body muscles too, so can certainly fit into any well-rounded full body workout routine.
As with deadlifts, there is plenty that could go wrong with the back squat if performed incorrectly or with too much weight loaded onto the bar, so ensure you have the technique nailed before you think about progressing.
How to perform this full body workout: Start with the barbell set just below shoulder height on the squat rack. Step under it and have it rest on your shoulders. Lift up and take a couple of steps back. Bring your pelvis in and brace your core. You want to keep this same solid core throughout the duration of the movement.
Take a deep breath in and squat down. To squat effectively, ensure your knees push outwards and almost imagine you’re just sitting down. Sit into the squat until your hips are just below your knees. If this feels too deep to push back up from, you at least want to bend your knees to a 90-degree angle.
Keeping the breath held in – it helps with stability – push up through your heels until you’re back at your starting position, where you can exhale (you can exhale as you lift up if you find it helps you more).
Throughout the duration of the movement, you want to keep your chest as upright as possible. It helps to remain looking forward at a point on the wall or in the gym in front of you, as opposed to looking down at your feet.
Renegade Rows
Any kind of rowing movement is great for your back and biceps, and renegade rows more than fit the bill for both of these muscle groups. But they also target your core muscles because they combine a rowing movement with a plank hold. It sounds tricky – and it is – but add it into your full body workout routine and you’ll be feeling the burn.
All you need to perform renegade rows is a set of dumbbell weights. Start off with a light weight so you can perfect the exercise, before increasing the weight so that you can start building more muscle.
How to perform this full body workout: To perform renegade rows, get yourself into a press up position – body straight from head to heels, with no bend in the back and arms shoulder width apart – and with a hand gripped around each dumbbell. Then, raising one arm at a time – we’d recommend alternating arms, but you’re free to work one arm at a time if you wish – bring your elbow back towards your hip.
For extra points, you can add a push up movement into the mix once you have completed a row with each arm.
You don’t want to raise your arms up by hunching your shoulders, as this won’t put any real tension on your back or core, which are the key muscle groups you’re trying to work with this exercise. Keep the tempo slow and controlled as with the other full body workout exercises, and try to keep your torso and core engaged the whole time, without causing any twisting of the hips.
Dumbbell Thrusters
Called thrusters because you need to physically thrust the dumbbells above your head during the movement, this full body workout exercise can also be described as a squat to shoulder press. It’s a great variation of the traditional squat and brings your shoulders into play, meaning you work multiple muscle groups in one clean movement.
How to perform this full body workout: To perform dumbbell thrusters, take a set of dumbbells, one in each hand in a neutral grip – palms facing each other – and stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Hold the dumbbells so they are over your shoulders and squat down as you would with a barbell back squat, i.e. core braced and pelvis tucked in.
Then, push up through your feet – dumbbells still held over your shoulders – until you are back to a standing position. From here, thrust, or press, the dumbbells above your head with some explosive force.
Burpees
Yes, the dreaded burpee makes the cut for being one of the most effective full body workout exercises of all time. They’re fatiguing, for sure, but they are incredibly easy to perform in the fact they require no weights at all, just you and your body. Plus, they’re fantastic for strengthening your body while also blasting fat in the process.
How to perform this full body workout: There’s a good chance you already know how to perform a burpee, but for the uninitiated, start in a standing position. Squat down and place your hands out in front of you and kick your legs back so you’re in a push-up position, but just lower to the ground.
You can choose whether you want to completely lower your chest to the ground after this, but it isn’t essential. The added benefit of dropping your chest to the ground is that it will require greater effort to push yourself back up, thereby targeting the arm and upper body muscle groups further.
Push your body up, tuck your legs back in so that you’re in a squat position and then jump up. As soon as you land, repeat the movement without taking a pause. Burpees are a great finisher exercise that can be added to your program a few times per week.
Bench Press
While not exactly an exercise that could be considered a full body workout, the bench press is an absolute essential in any workout program for strength and muscle building. Primarily focusing on the upper body, the bench press torches your pecs, arms and shoulders and can work wonders for your endurance levels.
There’s a good chance you already include the bench press in your workout program, but there’s also a good chance you’re not performing it as well as possible.
How to perform this full body workout: To perform the perfect bench press, lie back on a weight bench with your eyes directly underneath the bar. You want to have your feet close to the bench so that they can firmly plant into the ground, helping you to lift the weighted barbell.
Lock your shoulders down and brace your core. You can push against the barbell stands to help you move your shoulders into this more effective position.
Lift the bar off the rack, keeping your arms extended. Slowly lower the bar down so that it is roughly inline with your nipples. You don’t need to bring the bar all the way down so that it touches you. Instead, you want to have your elbows go just past 90-degrees, so that you’re exerting the maximum amount of tension on your chest.
Push the bar back up, planting your feet into the floor for extra stability. You want to make sure you don’t arch your back. You almost want to imagine pushing your entire body back into the bench to push the bar up, rather than make the common mistake of using your arms to lift.
Once your arms are fully extended, repeat the movement for several more reps.
The bench press is a prime candidate for progressive overload, meaning you increase the weight or number of reps with each set. If you do increase the weight, you’re free to lower the number of reps, helping to build your strength.
Another thing to remember is to keep your wrists straight. A common mistake is people bending their wrists back, which places a tremendous amount of pressure on them, potentially causing injury.
Bent Over Row
The bent over row, like the bench press, isn’t a workout that will destroy your entire body, but boy is it one you’ll feel the morning after. Focusing primarily on your back muscles, it’s an exercise you’ll want to include in your workout program a couple of times per week.
How to perform this full body workout: Because this workout involves your back, you don’t want to mess it up. Therefore, form is way, way more important than the amount of weight you lift. Start with a light weight on the bar and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
In a similar fashion to the deadlift, you want to bend at the waist, almost as if it were a hinge, keeping your back straight. You’ll want to bend your knees a little, but not too much, as you’ll end up putting more tension on your legs, as opposed to your back.
Grab the bar with an overhand grip, with your hands slightly wider than your shoulders. Brace your core and lockdown your shoulders. Keep your eyes focused downwards – looking up and straight ahead will put unnecessary tension on your neck – and pull the bar up, forcing your elbows up so they extend beyond your back.
You want to aim to have the bar touch your sternum – the bone in the central part of the chest – before lowering back down slowly. You don’t need to bring the bar back down to the ground, instead, lower it until your arms are fully extended. Repeat for 8 – 10 reps and make sure to never lose the tension you gain from bracing your core.

The DeLorean DMC-12 is one of the most famous cars of all time, thanks to its striking appearance, notoriously trouble-ridden production run and its memorable appearances in the Back to the Future films. Now, the brand has been revived and shown off renders of a new electric car – but we think it’s more than a little disappointing.
This new DeLorean is called the Alpha5 and it purports to be a very different beast from the V6-powered DMC-12 John DeLorean cooked up in the 80s.
According to this reborn DeLorean Motor Company, the Alpha5 will be a multi-motor EV with a 100kWh+ battery. Specs for the “base performance model” suggest it’ll have over 300 miles of range and do 0-60mph in 2.99 seconds. They also offer a 0-88mph figure of 4.35 seconds. Cute.
It also has an estimated drag coefficient of only 0.23Cd, which would make it one of the most aerodynamic production cars ever built.
It’s all very cool, but we can’t help but feel they’ve missed the mark with the design of the Alpha5 though.

We see two things wrong with this car. Firstly, where the original was a two-seater coupe, the Alpha5 is a four-seater ‘fastback’ sort of thing. While the original DMC-12 was hardly a small car, we feel as if giving it a second row doesn’t feel faithful to the original.
That’s before we talk about the practicalities of having just one huge gullwing door per side with no B-pillar… We’re not sure how feasible that would be in the real world.
According to Drive, the Alpha5 would be longer than most or all two-door Aston Martins, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, and occupy the same space on the road as a Toyota Land Cruiser. That’s pretty huge.
RELATED: James Bond’s Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Was The Real MVP In No Time To Die
Secondly, we think it just doesn’t look very DeLorean. The DMC-12, which was designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign and clad in stainless steel, is one of the most iconic and best-loved pieces of automotive design ever. Sure, we’re not in the 80s anymore and a car as angular as the DMC-12 might not be amenable to modern tastes (or safety regulations) but we just don’t think it’s recognisable as a DeLorean.
Actually, it’s a bit generic. If it didn’t have the gullwing doors, you’d easily confuse it for something Lucid Motors, Fisker or even Tesla might come out with. Hell, they’ve even done away with the classic DeLorean font. It’s weird, especially as the Alpha5 was also designed by Italdesign. Bring Giugiaro back!

Maybe we’re being too harsh. It’s just a render; a concept car. It doesn’t represent a final product. DeLorean even admits as such: “We reimagine ourselves daily. We have a clear vision of our future, knowing it does not represent today.” Or, to decipher brand-speak, this isn’t making it into production.
There are some nice nods to the original design, such as its three-spoke steering wheel and its big multi-spoke alloy rims, which call to mind the spindly rims of the DMC-12. It might be swoopy and low-drag but the general body shape does also resemble the silhouette of the DMC-12, too.
Ultimately, we’re happy to see the DeLorean brand come back, as well as see more competition in the already hot performance EV market. Fingers crossed the production car takes a few more styling cues from the original, though. Oh, and throw in some hoverboard storage.

Virgin Atlantic flight attendants are now allowed to display their tattoos, making Virgin Atlantic the first major airline to allow its crew to rock visible ink.
Virgin Atlantic is letting its cabin crew work with their tattoos showing. This comes as part of a campaign centred around celebrating individuality – and also coincides with the industry, as The Guardian puts it, scrambling to hire more people as demand for air travel soars back to life after being suppressed during the earlier stages of the pandemic.
“Until now, the airline made employees cover up arm and leg tattoos, while workers were completely barred from having tattoos on body parts that couldn’t be completely covered,” Paddle Your Own Kanoo reports. This is common policy across basically every major carrier.
Estelle Hollingsworth, Virgin Atlantic’s chief people officer, said of the change: “At Virgin Atlantic, we want everyone to be themselves and know that they belong. Many people use tattoos to express their unique identities and our customer-facing and uniformed colleagues should not be excluded from doing so if they choose.”

It should also be noted that flight attendants still face limitations on just how much body art they display. “Facial and neck tattoos will remain banned for flight attendants – for now,” The Guardian reports, “although the airline is considering relaxing the rules at a later date.”
According to Fortune, “Neck and head tattoos must also be covered, but Virgin Atlantic said this was currently under review and the company was hoping to change this policy soon.”
Offensive or obscene tattoos, or ones that feature nudity, violence or drugs (or prison tatts) are also still banned.
At the time of writing, the only other two big airlines that allow cabin crew to show some kind of tattoo are United Airlines and Air New Zealand.
This isn’t the first time the Virgin brand has made headlines over tattoos. In 2018 they made waves when they announced they would have tattoo parlours on their Virgin Voyages cruises.

A themed dining experience in Bali has been cancelled after many were offended and outraged by the theme and menu.
A dining experience that was organised by both Bogaria (an Indonesian company that produces frozen food) and Joshua District (an on-trend restaurant complex located in south Bali) – was supposed to take place on the 24th of May but has been cancelled entirely.
The event received severe criticism online for two main reasons. First, it was named “Raskin” which is also the name of a food assistance program run by the Indonesian government that gives low-income families access to rice for a below-market price.
And secondly, because the dining experience’s five-course menu – which the organisers called a re-interpretation of “what is called ‘food for the poor’” – consisted of simple everyday dishes (that low-income families are practically forced to live on because they are cheap to make) plated up fancily.
When Bogaria and Joshua District first announced Raskin, many took to Instagram and Twitter to voice their outrage at how the event seemed to be fetishizing and romanticising poverty. One Twitter user wrote, “It’s so stupid the idea of “Raskin Dining Experience”…” while another tweeted, “‘Let’s experience poor people’s diet in a fancy way,’ what’s up with the behaviour of the Indonesian middle class?”

After such severe backlash, Bogaria and Joshua District officially cancelled the Raskin event and recently took to Instagram to apologise.
“We didn’t know people would get offended by [Raskin], since it wasn’t meant to cause any harm, it was meant more as a culturally educational food experience. We officially cancelled the event since we think it would cause more harm than good at this point.
We would like to apologise to anyone who misunderstood the meaning behind our concept and got offended by it.”
Bogaria & Joshua District
However, Instagram users are now criticising the apology too. One user commented, “Wow. What a non-apology by a bunch of people who think their idea of capitalizing on poverty is groundbreaking. Gtfo,” while another wrote, “Come on, this is far, far from [what] an apology should be…”
Yikes. It’s giving off serious “let them eat cake” vibes… but, you know, with rice.

Male pattern baldness is a very real prospect for the modern man. It affects around 70% of men in their lifetime and 25% will show the first signs of it by the ripe old age of 30. From thinning around the crown or temples to the fully-blown bald, the statistics show that you’re not alone in being follically-challenged.
Life doesn’t need to suck without a decent head of hair though. As well as tracking down the most practical short hairstyles for men with thin hair and those suffering from hair loss, we’ve hit up Renée Baltov owner of two of Sydney’s finest men’s barbershops, Barberhood, to find out his top tips.
In this story…
Why Hair Loss Happens

Hair loss is caused by both environmental and genetic factors. Poor diet, stress, and not looking after yourself in general, fall into the former category; while the latter is hereditary and therefore, cannot be controlled.
Defined as male-pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia, this type of hair loss is caused by excess levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a male hormone that causes follicles to weaken and stop working altogether.
RELATED: Ultimate Guide To Hair Transplants For Men
As a way of preparing yourself for future baldness, look to your genealogy – in particular, your maternal grandfather. The hair loss gene (like your height) is rumoured to be carried by mother’s side, so look to her father as an indication of how much time you have left.
Whether this true or not, you’re likely to be one of the seven-out-of-ten men to experience some form of hair thinning or loss in your life.
What’s The Most Popular Short Hairstyle?

According to the crew at Barberhood, the most popular short hairstyle for men with receding hair at the moment is the clipper cut. A lot of this comes down to its simplicity and how well it looks to mask a man’s thinning hair.
The clipper cut is a modern classic and timeless look which takes a clean approach to the back and sides via some handy clipper work. Shorter layers are then cut from the top allowing for a seamless blend. To finish off the look, the neckline and side burns are finished with a fine trimmer.
Baltov however warns that men should refrain from doing it themselves as they can often leave it unfinished with dodgy side burns and a neckline. To pull off the clipper cut properly, the hair needs to be razored for that sharper look.
“Even if you’re balding on top, a short back and sides can still work really well in keeping a really great style at the front – so it draws attention to the front instead of the back,” says Baltov of another popular cut.
The High Fade cut is similar to a stylish military cut where men can have it really short on the sides and longer on the top.
Baltov adds that if you’re a man with thinning curls, keep it long and moppy as the messy look can help cover balding. Product is however mandatory to hold it all in place so that you don’t like you’ve just woken up from a ten year coma.
How To Maintain Receding Hair
It may be near impossible to pull off a decent coiffe with a bald patch forming on the head but there are tricks around it. If there’s a long section of hair growing at the top and you’re not receding in the back, shave the bald patch at the back. “Climbing that up with height can work,” says Baltov.
“I think keeping it short and give it a messy look. Not really styled into place can work really well too because it keeps the distraction ahead.”
Baltov also says that a gradual fade hairstyle is also possible. To pull this off, ask a skilled barber to fade the back of your hair whilst keeping the style short on top. It’s a lot harder to do but most skilled barbers can pull it off these days.
Given that most men go in for their regular cut every four weeks, those with less hair can get away with stretching that to five or six weeks. The problem however is that the hair in your ears, eyebrows and neckline unfortunately don’t thin like your head’s, so it’s a good idea to keep a track of this unless you want to look like a metro-sexual pirate.
Essential Products To Consider

Styling thinning hair requires a good hair thickening shampoo (Kiehl’s, Swell or Aveda are some examples) to boost each follicle. Use a wide-tooth comb to gently comb through thickening styling spray, and then follow with a good blow dry (the wind lifts the hair and adds volume).Lastly, apply a matte-based product (nothing oil-based) and mess around the strands for a fuller look.
Tip: Avoid roughly towel-drying your hair or over brushing the hair (especially when wet as the hair is weakest then).
Some other products that can be your best friend include a boost powder, which is highly recommended for adding volume to a man’s thinning hair.
Using a powder ensures easy washing in the shower with little residue left behind. Baltov says that this product is especially good for lighter or blonde thinning hair.
If you’ve got long thinning hair, and you’ve got curls, continue to keep it long. If you can grow what you’ve got and keep it moppy. Messy can get away with covering balding. With that type of haircut you need product in it to keep it that way, to hold it in place otherwise you can look really bad.
Colour To Cover Baldness
Do not go here. Baltov tells us that it’s best to stick to your natural hair colour if you’re experiencing hair loss, as dying is a catch 22 if not done professionally.
“Say you’re blonde and you dye it dark, it’s only going to highlight the areas you don’t have hair. It’s actually going to do the opposite.”
“You can probably do it a shade lighter. It would still make you have hair but it wouldn’t be as noticeable.”
The only issue here is the frequency at which you’d have to reapply colour which isn’t very efficient if you have to cut your hair every four weeks. In other words, it might not be worth it.
Best Hair Loss & Balding Hairstyles
Need some inspiration as to which hairstyles are going to be best for hair loss and baldness? Look no further. These hairstyles will hold you in good form and make the most of the little hair you have.
The Smooth Receder

When your hair line starts to recede it’s time to go short. Head to a reputable barber or hair dresser and order the following: A short-back-and-sides cut with one to two inches of length on the top and an inch of length of the side. The trick is to keep the sides and back shorter to create the illusion of ‘thicker’ hair on top. This works well for men with the early onset of baldness, or those who still have the majority of their hair at the crown, back and sides.
Military Buzz Cut

The buzz cut is especially good if your hair is starting to thin on the crown and top of your head, making you look more like a monk than a man. The buzz cut gives you a clean, yet edgy look with the length of the shave dependent on how severe the balding is. Ask for an all-over shave with a number 3 or 2 razor length.
These balding hairstyles looks doesn’t require any styling, making it a foolproof, bad-ass look for the balding man.
Naked Shave

A very signature look, the naked shave is one of the balding hairstyles that is great for men who have are very bald with little, to know hair on the majority of their head. Head to the barber once again for this one (don’t do a home job until you seek professional help) where the stylist can perform the sharpest shave to the skin without error.
Now with a bald scalp, make sure you moisturise the head after showering and regularly shave it to keep it fresh and without fluff.
Au Naturel

Some men prefer to have a little hair on their head, for fear of looking like a thug completely shaven. An option is to let whatever hair you have left grow out, keeping it trimmed and neat. Heading to the barber every four weeks is essential, keeping the hair groomed and tamed.
This method exudes a confidence in letting nature run its course and working the hair that you’ve got left. Plus, it’s a touch bohemian and artsy – if you’re that way inclined.
No ‘Comb Over’

Avoid the ‘comb-over’ like it never existed. It’s not an option for the stylish gent. There’s no hiding the fact you’re balding on top so keep the sides short to downplay the hair areas against the bald ones. A comb-over screams a lack of confidence and like the toupee, actually accentuates your baldness. People will see right through it.
Become A Facial Hair Hero

A lot of celebrities with thinning hair embrace facial hair. Hair around the chin, jaw and cheeks draws attention from your balding head. Important thing to note: moustaches and goatees work best, as opposed to lumberjack beards. A full-blown beard adds too much weight to the lower part of the head/face, especially when paired with bald head.

The new Longines Ultra-Chron might look quite retro but don’t be fooled: it’s a high-performance time-telling machine that pushes new boundaries in watchmaking for both Longines and the watch industry at large.
The Longines Ultra-Chron range first appeared in 1966 and was so named because its innovative high-beat movement was more accurate than the famous chronometer certification of the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres). 1968 saw the release of the Longines Ultra-Chron Diver, which combined that insane accuracy with the toughness and water-resistance of a dive watch to create the first high-frequency dive watch.
The 2022 Longines Ultra-Chron revives the distinctive tonneau-shaped case of the ’68 Longines Ultra-Chron Diver, but with an even more precise, modern movement as well as even more impressive underwater bona fides and higher levels of refinement.
(Almost) more importantly, it also looks cool as hell and is one of the most distinctive watches on the market right now that you could hope to strap to your wrist.
First things first: the new Longines Ultra-Chron is powered by the Swiss brand’s in-house calibre L836.6, which boasts a 52-hour power reserve, is water-resistant to 300m (100m more than the original Ultra-Chron) and oscillates at 36,000 beats per hour (i.e. 10 beats every second). That’s roughly 12,000 beats per hour more than your standard Swiss automatic watch movement.
The advantage of high-beat movements like this is that they’re far more accurate than standard movements, as they reduce the disruptive effects of shocks or changes in the position of the movement. Another upside of high-beat movements is that they produce a mesmerisingly smoothly sweeping seconds hand that’s a real pleasure to watch.

What’s interesting about the Longines Ultra-Chron is its “ultra chronometer” certification, which exceeds rival certifications such as those provided by COSC or METAS. It’s certified by TIMELAB, an independent testing laboratory in Geneva, which tests the watch head and subjects the finished product to a rigorous 15-day testing period during which the watch is submitted to a series of tests at three temperatures (8°C, 23° C and 38°C).
Eschewing the typical COSC or METAS certification for a tougher independent one represents a real departure from form for Longines, which is often considered a somewhat conservative brand. It’s a quietly rebellious decision that also speaks to the quality of the new Longines Ultra-Chron.

It also just looks the business. The Longines Ultra-Chron’s case shape is different and aesthetically pleasing, and its bright green lume contrasts brilliantly with its black grained dial. Its bezel is particularly nice: a sapphire crystal number with lumed accents that have a nice sort of 3D effect. The domed crystal is another nice retro touch.
The Longines Ultra-Chron is available with a choice of a leather strap or a steel bracelet and it is delivered in a special presentation box containing a black NATO strap crafted from recycled material. All three strap options are great, but we’re particularly fond of the NATO with its bold red stripe.
All in all, we’re just really excited about this watch. The Longines Ultra-Chron is good-looking, technically impressive and different to everything that’s on the market. It’s a masterstroke from Longines and one that we hopes shift the needle a bit around the brand.

The second-generation BMW M4 is already one of the coolest cars on the market, but this incredibly rare collaborative model that’s surfaced in Western Sydney takes the cool factor to a whole other level.
This BMW M4 Competition x KITH, which was recently spotted going in for a service at Parramatta BMW, is one of only 150 on the planet and more impressively, one of only 2 in Australia. We’re surprised that even 2 made their way Down Under, but there you go.
For those not in the know, KITH is a fashion and sneaker boutique originally founded by streetwear tastemaker Ronnie Fieg. Originally based in New York, KITH has opened up stores across the US and has become a bit of a cultural phenomenon, penning collaborations with brands as diverse as Nike, Barbie, Versace, Coca-Cola and of course, BMW.
The BMW M4 Competition x KITH features unique BMW x KITH badging; an exclusive KITH interior with the brand’s logo embossed on the car’s seats and centre console; a carbon fibre roof with a BMW x KITH logo, and was available in matte black, silver or white.
As you can see, this bad boy opted for the matte black – but it’s also got a bunch of aftermarket modifications that make it look even more staunch.
It’s actually a company car for RollingStock, a Sydney-based high-end auto parts outfit, and as of such has been blessed with some of the firm’s tastiest parts.
Not only has it been subtly lowered, but it also has a huge carbon fibre lip, carbon splitter, titanium hardware as well as tinted windows, headlights and taillights. We think Ronnie Fieg would approve.
BMW also teamed up with Ronnie to customise his personal whip, a 1989 BMW E30 M3, which he had customised in Munich by BMW Classic to his exacting specifications. It’s that car that laid the foundations for the KITH M4 collaboration.
When it was available for order back in 2020, the BMW M4 Competition x KITH started at AU$224,900 drive-away, although you’d comfortably assume this car would be worth much, much more than that now. We salute the owner’s good taste – just keep your keys close. This is one whip you wouldn’t want to get rolled for, adlay.
