Australia isn’t known for its glamorous car auctions like the spectacle of our American and European counterparts. Well that’s all about to change with Mossgreen hauling in one of the century’s finest selection of classic cars to go under the hammer – and it’s all happening in Sydney this month.
After staging several successful auctions across the country, Mossgreen will finally arrive in Sydney with an astonishing portfolio of collector cars valued at almost AU$6 million. The impressive collection includes a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 which is expected to fetch over $1,500,000, a 1959 Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’ Recreation estimated to be worth $650,000 and a historic 1913 Model T Ford no less.
Also on the most wanted list will be the coveted 1979 Australian Touring Car Championship winning Holden Torana A9X, a legendary car which is being brought to auction for the first time ever. James Nicholls who is Mossgreen Collectors’ Cars Specialist explained that the car is “still in running order” and wears the original livery of its racing days in 1979.
The auction will take place on the 28th of May at Carriageworks. Until then, have a peruse of the lots that will be going under the hammer and start saving your pocket change.

Never one to shy away from controversial political themes, Banksy has unveiled his latest large-scale art piece: a Brexit commentary depicting a workman chipping away at one of the stars on the EU flag. The large mural appeared on the side of a building in Dover, a seaside city in England that’s home to a major port for ferries travelling to and from France. Photographs of the mural appeared on Banksy’s website and verified Instagram account on Sunday. The artist’s representatives have also confirmed that he was behind the design to multiple media outlets. The work comes in a politically tumultuous time for the European Union. “They ought to make it the Brexit logo,” a resident of Dover, where a majority voted to leave the bloc, told the website kentnews.co.uk.This is not Banksy’s first foray into political art. In 2015, he created several pieces in a refugee camp in Calais, France, including one featuring Steve Jobs, who was the son of a Syrian migrant. Another, featuring the iconic poster girl from Les Misérables, appeared in London near the French embassy.More recently, he opened a hotel with the “worst view in the world” in Bethlehem, right next to the controversial wall built by Israel in the occupied West Bank. The Brexit mural – like all Banksy pieces – has attracted a mix of praise and ridicule, but is sure to please fans thirsty for new work.

People Who Died Playing Video Games
Video games are harmless for the most part and have been part of most people’s childhood (and adulthood). Some however just want to watch the world burn. We’re talking about fallen soldiers of the gaming world who pushed their bodies so hard that they paid the ultimate sacrifice. Scary but true, according to Ranker.
Brian Vigneault: Died from playing online game War of Tanks for almost 24 hours straight. The sad part? He was doing it to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation. In an ironic twist, Vigneault died from a massive heart attack after he took a break from gaming to have a smoke. He was also binging on energy drinks at the time.
Chris Staniforth: Died from playing 12-hour Halo sessions without breaks. A blood clot travelled from his leg into his lungs which killed him instantly.
Man from China: Died after playing a game continuously for 27 days. That’s 650 hours. During this time he drank little, slept little and survived on a diet of instant noodles – kind of like being a student except without moving. He eventually died of heart failure and malnutrition.
Jennifer Strange: Lived up to her name when she entered a radio competition called ‘Hold your wee for a Wii’ in which a Nintendo Wii console would be given away for, you guessed it, holding your urine in. Any normal human being would know this isn’t the greatest idea but it would appear that the 28-year-old’s desire superseded common sense in this case. She drank over 7.5 litres of water and didn’t urinate. She eventually died of water intoxication and din’t receive the Wii.
How Much Movie Characters Would Make In The Real World
James Bond, Ellen Ripley, Ron Burgundy. All household names in the realm of Hollywood but have you ever wondered what would happen if those said characters were to actually exist and get paid? Wonder no more, thanks to Gizmodo.
Homer Simpson: Safety Inspector – $68,176
James Bond: Royal Marine Commander – $135,141
Ellen Ripley: Lieutenant First Class – $105,905
Ron Burgundy: Anchorman – $111,355
Mario: Plumber – $61,492
Don Draper: Advertising Creative Director – $153,348
Indiana Jones: Archeologists & Historical Professor – $109,887
Master Chief: Master Chief Petty Officer – $146,544
Death Cap Mushrooms Have Arrived In Tasmania
Brace yourselves, Australians. Deadly mushrooms have arrived on our shores. Well, Tasmanian shores to be exact. The highly toxic mushrooms that are known for causing slow and painful deaths in humans were found growing at the base of an oak tree in Tasmania’s north for the first time, according to an ABC report. Death Cap mushrooms which are scientifically known as Amanita phalloides have resided in other parts of Australia for a while now but it’s the first time since they’ve made their way across the waters.
Scientists say that the mushroom kills by breaking down the liver if consumed. Eight milligrams of the mushroom is enough to kill an 80kg adult. It’s an unassuming slow kill too with the mushroom causing nausea and diarrhoea for the first six hours before tricking the body into thinking it’s better. After a few days your health deteriorates and you’re dead.

Scandinavian design is a well-versed art form within the confines of four walls. It’s been heavily documented amongst the pages of D’Marge but now we have an anomaly – striking Scandinavian minimalism taken to the great outdoors of Sweden’s snowy city of Kiruna.
The Solar Egg is the latest project from design duo Bigert & Bergstrom and it’s essentially a geometric gold plated egg which also doubles as a public sauna. Crazy? Perhaps. The Swedes just like to justify its existence in the name of art. Take that, Kim Jong-Un statue. The cool installation features a number of gold plated steel panels designed to reflect the surrounding environment and city. This ensures that the Solar Egg can also capture the Arctic climate of the northern region as light and darkness dramatically alters the landscape.
RELATED: 27 Examples Of Clean Scandinavian Design For The Home
Step inside Solar Egg and guests will be greeted with beautifully appointed wooden oasis complete with an intricate fireplace made from iron and rocks to mimic the human heart. And yes, get it hot enough and it will glow red.
Keen sauna hunters will need to queue up for a go since the 5 x 4 metre structure can only accommodate eight people at a time. Not a bad way to sinter away the cold winter days up north at all.
And FYI, the Solar Egg is also a metaphor for rebirth and new opportunities – something you’ll definitely be feeling after a short stint.

But if the San Francisco-based company has anything to say about it, that could soon change. Airbnb has launched a new search tool designed with business travellers and their specific needs in mind. Using it returns only properties that the company has deemed “business travel ready” or BTR.The theory is that business travellers don’t want the same things as leisure travellers. “They want speed, convenience and reliability,” says the company. For accommodations to qualify, they must feature “the essential amenities and services a business traveller needs, like wi-fi, laptop-friendly workspaces and self check-in.”BTR listings must offer an entire apartment or house, and be pet-free and smoke-free. They must include the standard amenities found at a hotel, like toiletries and a hair dryer. The hosts must be at the top of their game, with a 90%+ response rate within 24 hours, and the listing must have more 5-star reviews than the average home.Airbnb has also made it simpler for companies to coordinate business travel for their employees. An enrolled company can keep track of nights booked, travel costs, and trip dates on their dashboard. Choose your ideal payment method – whether it’s central billing, invoicing, or reimbursing – and Airbnb makes tracking and reporting easy. Employees can charge to the company directly with one-click expensing, without ever entering their own credit card details.Business travel could provide the revenue boost Airbnb needs to go for an IPO. Though business travel spending is estimated to grow to US$1.6 trillion by 2020, it currently accounts for only 10% of Airbnb bookings. The company hopes to benefit from younger professionals’ penchant for mixing business with leisure as Millennials advance in the workforce. The problem? If Airbnb targets corporate jet-setters, who make up the majority of bookings at traditional hotels, hotel lobbyists are likely to fight even harder to impose regulatory restrictions on the company. But for now, if you’re a business traveller who doesn’t dig the vibe of the standard business stay, Airbnb offers a cosy solution.RELATED: 10 Menswear Essentials When Travelling on Business

Hello, Philippines dream home. M+S Studio created this perfect pad for the man who appreciates the gritty look of industrial design but doesn’t want to feel like he’s living in a disused garage. The result is an organic industrial space that straddles the line between modern and bohemian.Look up. The industrial vibes are out in full force on the apartment’s walls and ceiling. A simple, grey concrete colour scheme sets a neutral tone, while caged pendent lights and exposed pipes reinforce the warehouse-like aesthetic.Look down. The light wood floor keeps things fresh and avoids the sterile look that accompanies some industrial design. It feels right at home with the wood panelled walls, wooden bench seating, and built-in wood desk.Eye-level offers a mix of both design approaches. Pipe shelving and minimalist Scandinavian-style chairs continue the modern theme, while patterned throw pillows and a floor mat bring carefree boho flair. Plants are placed throughout to bring pops of colour and life to a space that otherwise maintains a fairly tame colour palette. The overall organic industrial effect creates an oasis we’d be happy to escape to next time we’re in town.

They say that life is a numbers game but when it comes to relationships, revealing those figures in any capacity could spell the end of a promising love story.
Thankfully those numbers have now been disclosed. Twelve sexual partners. And no, not all at once. Dating site IllicitEncounters conducted a study on the ideal number of past sex partners for both men and women and found a much higher number than first anticipated.
All of the subjects agreed that twelve was perfect number since it showed that a potential was “sexually adventurous, liberal and transient”. On the other side of the fence, those who had fewer than ten sexual partners were deemed “too conservative” and wait for it…”sexually inexperienced”. Ouch.
Those who have had nineteen sexual partners or more also aren’t safe. The study found nineteen as the red flag which gives the perception of the potential mate of “being too selfish, difficult to please or too eager to jump from partner to partner”.
Those questioning why you’d even want to get into the dark past of a partner’s sexual experience was also addressed in the study. It found that 45 percent of women had the desire to know how many people their partner had slept with whilst 53 percent of men were likely to want to know.
Christian Grant from IllicitEncounters explained that “men are a little more self-conscious when it comes to competition. They want to be seen as the biggest and best; whether that stems from genuinely wanting to satisfy their partner or to massage their own ego is another matter entirely.”
“Women on the other hand, they’re just happy to enjoy the moment, past experiences aside.”

Calling all aspiring billionaires and Bond villain wannabes. Mercedes-Benz have released their first-ever yacht, and the pricey boat looks perfect for partying with models or an epic chase scene. The Mercedes yacht – which the German company calls the “Silver Arrow of the Seas” and is formally named the Arrow460-Grandturismo – combines the performance of sports cars with unique innovations from the boat industry. The vessel boasts classic automobile proportions that bring the hallmarks of Mercedes design onto the water in a highly dynamic form.Up to 10 people can come aboard at once. The large side windows are retractable and the windscreen can be raised, allowing passengers to sit comfortably inside while enjoying an all-round view and the feeling of being in the open. Wood lines the interior, while the exterior is coated in a shimmering silver glaze that underscores the yacht’s sculptural and innovative character. As for the stats, the Mercedes yacht clocks in at 47 feet long, sports two twin 480-horsepower engines, and can cruise at 30 knots.“In developing the new motor yacht, we have transferred our expertise to the marine industry, creating something never seen before in the process,” says Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design Daimler AG. “The ‘Silver Arrow of the Seas’ stands for modern luxury, avant-garde style and comfortable elegance. The yacht embodies the Mercedes-Benz’s progressive, dynamic design philosophy of sensual purity on the water.”Teased back in 2012, the Arrow460-Grandturismo officially debuted at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show and is expected to ship in the second half of 2017. But getting your hands on one won’t be easy. Only 10 of the sleek superyachts will be produced, and Mercedes is limiting sales to just one per country. And that’s if you can afford the US$1.7 million price tag in the first place.
