A tourist has got herself in trouble by climbing Mexico’s Castillo de Kukulcán. Climbing the step pyramid has been banned since 2008. Footage of the incident shows a crowd at the bottom calling for her to be jailed. Some even reportedly chanted for her to be sacrificed.
A woman has angered a crowd, dancing down the Castillo de Kukulcán, one of the most important ancient structures in Mexico. Either oblivious or uncaring of the ban on climbing this monument, which is located in Chichén Itzá (southeastern Mexico), and which is one of the new seven wonders of the modern world, the woman can be seen confidently posing at the top of the steps (then being booed by onlookers).
She then, in a viral video, posted to TikTok with the caption “this is why you don’t disrespect Mayan Pyramids”, can be seen reaching the bottom of the stairs, with chants ringing out including “jail” and (according to Merco Press) “sacrifice” because “this woman does not respect the rules.”

The mob also sprayed the lady with water as she left. You can be fined between US $2,558 ($3,846 AUD) and US $5,115 ($7,691 AUD) for climbing the pyramid (depending on how much damage you are deemed to cause).
On social media, commenters shared their own stories of the site (you used to be allowed to climb the steps, it seems), and also took it upon themselves to create an angry digital mob of their own, throwing their own barbs and criticisms.
“Our Spanish class took a trip there about 15 years ago, high school, we were told to only climb 5 steps because of possibly falling,” one TikTok user wrote.
RELATED: This Wild Norwegian Tourist Attraction Could Never Exist In America
“Yes, people used to climb these years ago, I get it but at the same time there were deaths by people falling every year, they’re also unstable to climb,” said another.
Yet another said: “We used to go every year & we would climb up & they also allowed us to go inside one of the tunnels which led to a shrine of a panther with Jade eyes.”

In terms of criticism, one TikTok user chided: “For people saying ‘well, you were allowed to climb before’, they stopped it because all those climbs not only was dangerous but it damaged the foundations. I personally prefer to preserve the Chichen Itza.”
The poster of the video, @angelalopeze, wrote: “Yep… erosion, graffiti, and safety are the reasons we can’t climb anymore!”
According to Merco Press, “In previous incidents, INAH reported that they would be punished according to the Federal Law on Archaeological, Artistic and Historic Monuments and Zones which, in Chapter VI, establishes penalties and sanctions against those who damage or exploit archaeological monuments without authorization from the Institute.”
RELATED: ‘Ignorant’ Tourists Spark Anger In Spain After Posing On Historic Monument
Merco Press also reports: “INAH authorities have yet to report the incident, and the crowd continues to demand jail and expulsion from Yucatán ‘and if she is from abroad, she should leave Mexico,’ shouted those present.”
As for the Mayans, they were well known for human sacrifices, generally via beheading, with images of human sacrifice often sculpted into the steps of Maya architecture. So perhaps this tourist should consider herself lucky to only get away with a fine, if it even comes to that…

Ah, Ronnie. You’ve got to love him. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest players of all time (to a lot of people, the undisputed GOAT), has taken to Instagram this morning to celebrate his new watch collection with Jacob and co. The collection appears to feature an image of him scoring a goal against Manchester United in the last 16 of the 2012/13 Champions League.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United are finally going their separate ways. This news broke early this morning in a “mutual decision” that will come of great relief to both parties. After a controversial interview aired last week with Piers Morgan (Ronaldo said something to the effect of “I speak when I want” and heavily criticised United’s owners, the lack of investment in the club and current manager Erik ten Hag), United have been figuring out what their legal grounds were for terminating his contract.
RELATED: What Manchester United Left ‘Unsaid’ In Their Cristiano Ronaldo Statement
Ronaldo has clearly been wanting to leave for a while, frustrated with his lack of game time and what he saw as a lack of respect from the manager. Five hours ago at the time of writing, just before the news broke he was officially leaving United, Ronaldo took Instagram to promote his latest watch collection with Jacob Arabo, the founder of @jacobandco.

Ronaldo wrote: “I’m excited to announce my partnership with @jacobandco , one of the leading watch brands in the world. Today, we reveal our first watch collection that I co-designed with my dear friend @jacobarabo.” The post featured two watches. One watch was red and gold, showing him heading in a goal. The other was silver and green. This one showed Ronaldo celebrating scoring a goal.

Though these are both actions Ronaldo has repeated hundreds of times (according to goal.com stats from early November, CR7 has scored 818 times in 1,139 games throughout his career), both Daily Mail and Sport Bible reckon the goal in question depicts the famous header Ronaldo scored against Manchester United for Real Madrid in the Champions League back in the 2012/13 season.

Per Sport Bible, “There are two designs that the all time top goalscorer in men’s international football was sporting in his post, with one of them showing him celebrating a goal.”

“The other, controversial one, sees him making a huge leap, as is his signature move, or at least it was, in the last 16 of the 2012/13 Champions League.”
Sport Bible
In this first leg game, played in Madrid, Danny Welbeck had given United the lead in the 20th minute with a crucial away goal, before Ronaldo set the Bernabeau on fire ten minutes later with the equaliser.

Ronaldo went on to score the winner in the second leg a week later, at Old Trafford, in what ended up as Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge of a European squad.

Elon Musk has reinstated a number of controversial Twitter accounts since his $44 billion (AU $65.5 billion) buyout of Twitter, including Donald Trump and Kanye West, in his pursuit for a social media platform with ‘free speech absolutism’.
The world’s richest person has caused quite the stir since he formally took over the platform in October, charging users a monthly fee for their ‘blue tick’ verified status, announcing plans to create an ‘everything app’ and laying off half of Twitter’s employees.
But even months prior to his takeover, the eccentric billionaire was heavily critical of the platform’s ‘freedom of speech’, or lack thereof.
In his new version of the social media site, Elon Musk tweeted that the new policy will be, “freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach.”
He continued, “Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue.”
Part of this policy also involves the reinstating of Twitter accounts which have been previously banned or suspended. But, in typical Musk-fashion, these have not gone without controversy.
Read on as DMARGE takes you through all the contentious Twitter accounts that have been revived on the platform (so far).
Donald Trump

The former US President was a keyboard warrior during his time in office, but had his account permanently suspended in January 2021, following the Capitol riots in Washington DC. At the time, this was done “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
In response, Donald Trump, who recently announced he would be running for President a third time, launched his own social media app named ‘Truth Social’, which garners around two million monthly users.
However, on 19 November Elon Musk conducted a poll on Twitter, asking users whether they would like to see the former President unsuspended with a ‘yes’ and ‘no’ option. Over 15 million people voted, with 51.8 percent of people saying that they would like him to return.
In response, Musk tweeted out “Vox Populi, Vox Dei”, which translates to “the voice of the people, is the voice of god,” with Donald Trump being put back on the platform shortly after.
However, the 45th President of the United States has declared that he is not intending to return to the platform. Speaking to Fox News, he said:
“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH.”
He continued, “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”
However, given Twitter averages 450 million monthly users – far more than Truth Social could ever achieve – it would not be surprising if Trump started using the platform again to aid his election campaign.
Kanye West

Kanye West was banned from the platform six weeks ago after sharing antisemitic posts.
His account was reinstated on 20 November, when the rapper tweeted, “Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked.”
Elon Musk responded in a tweet saying, “Don’t kill what ye hate. Save what ye love.”
Kanye West then posted a tweet with the caption, “Shalom :)” a popular Jewish greeting.
Last month, a number of high-profile brands dropped Mr West for his antisemitic rants online, including Adidas, which reportedly cost him around AU $390 million.
However, Elon Musk claimed that he had no say in restoring the rapper, now known as ‘Ye’.
Replying to a tweet, Twitter’s new CEO said, “Ye’s account was restored by Twitter before the acquisition. They did not consult with or inform me.”
Similar to Donald Trump, Kanye West recently agreed – in principle – to buy Parler, a social media site popular amongst conservatives. Now he’s back in the ‘Twittersphere’, he may be reconsidering the deal.
Jordan Peterson

Canadian Psychologist and popular right-wing media personality Jordan Peterson was booted from Twitter after violating the network’s hateful conduct policy.
On 28 June, Mr Peterson deadnamed transgender actor Elliot Page (by his former name Ellen), before posing a 15-minute long explanation on YouTube, saying, he would “rather die” than delete the tweet.
Elon Musk revealed on 19 November that Jordan Peterson’s account would be reinstated given his new policy of “freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach.”
The psychology professor clearly relished the opportunity of being allowed back on the platform, posting a tweet of Jack Torrance (played by Jack Nicolson in the 1980 film adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’) with the caption, “I’m back. Thanks @elonmusk”.
Andrew Tate

The pro-kickboxer turned controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate was originally banned from Twitter in 2017 after he claimed the victims of sexual assault “bear some responsibility” for putting themselves in a position to be assaulted. He tried to sneak back on to the platform this year using a different account but was once again removed.
Following this – and a ban on other platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook – Andrew Tate turned to Rumble, an alternative to YouTube, to grow his audience.
He is known to be heavily misogynistic and has made audacious and violent claims about women, which reach a large number of young, impressionable male listeners. Even after his ban from social media sites Andrew Tate, who received more google searches in July than Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian, still commanded a large following.
However, on 18 November, his account returned to Twitter and has been since been very active on the site, gaining over a million followers in a single day.
The Babylon Bee
The Babylon Bee are a right-wing satirical site, which was banned in March for making an anti-trans comment about American government official Rachel Levine, calling her “Man of the Year.”
The comment was originally in response to USA Today naming the U.S Department of Health and Human Services one of its “women of the year.”
Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon responded to the ban, and said:
“We’re not deleting anything. Truth is not hate speech. If the cost of telling the truth is the loss of out Twitter account, then so be it.”
On November 18, The Babylon Bee was reinstated and tweeted,
“We’re back. Let that sink in.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

The Republican congresswoman’s personal account was banned from Twitter in early January, for repeatedly spreading misinformation about Covid-19, particularly about vaccine ineffectiveness and mandates.
The social media platform had previously warned users that they would be permanently banned from the site if they continued to post misleading tweets.
However, her account was reinstated on 21 November.
“I’m the only Member of Congress the unelected big tech oligarchs permanently banned,” she said.
“On January 2, 2022, they violated my freedom of speech and ability to campaign and fundraise crying “covid misinformation.” My account is back.”
Project Veritas
Project Veritas is a conservative media group is far-right activist group which produces deceptively edited videos of secret recordings designed to discredit mainstream media organisations.
It had its Twitter account banned in 2021, for disclosing people’s private information, which they denied.
They had their account reinstated on 20 November and said,
“Thank you @ElonMusk for reinstating the Project Veritas Twitter account and for standing up for real investigative journalism.”
Not All Controversial
Not all the suspended accounts that were reinstated are controversial.
Comedian Kathy Griffin was suspended shortly after Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter after she impersonated and mocked the billionaire.
Changing her name and profile picture to the same as Elon Musk’s on the site and tweeted:
“After much spirited discussion with the females in my life, I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is only right. (They’re also sexy females, btw.) #VoteBlueToProtectWomen.”
Kathy Griffin (as Elon Musk)
She was suspended from the site shortly afterwards. Elon Musk was heavily critiqued for his thin skin and replied in a typical, petty billionaire fashion. He said, “Actually, she was suspended for impersonating a comedian.”
However, despite being reinstated, Kathy Griffin seems to have no incentive to hop back on the site; she has moved over to new social media site Mastodon.
On there, she tooted – Mastodon’s version of ‘tweeted’ – “Dear Space Karen. No Thanks.”
Too Controversial?

There are also some accounts, that, as of the 22 November, have not yet been reinstated, with some still deemed too controversial for Elon Musk’s ‘freedom of speech’.
For example, Alex Jones, the founder of the far-right conspiracy theory website InfoWars, has been ordered to pay $1.44 billion (AU $2.18 billion) after spreading false conspiracies about the Sandy Hook school massacre.
He was permanently banned in September 2018, after posting tweets and videos which violated Twitter’s abusive behaviour policy.
When new Twitter CEO Elon Musk was asked whether he was going to reinstall Alex Jones’ account, Mr Musk claimed that even he was too controversial.
“My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat,” Elon Musk tweeted.
“I have no mercy for anyone who would use the death of children for gain, politics or fame.”
Other controversial figures included right-wing television personality Katie Hopkins, political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos and former strategist to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon.

Everyone thinks the French are going to kick Australia out of their path about as easily as they gobble baguettes and sink Cinsault. But anything can happen in football. And France have a few serious obstacles in their way, which they didn’t have at the last World Cup.
Australia has about as much hope of winning the World Cup as Kanye West has of being invited to host the next World Jewish Congress. We’re a gnat of a country in the football world and none of our players currently would make it within sniffing distance of the bench of any of the world’s best teams.
But… anything can happen in football. And even if statistics tell us we’re a chance in hell to win the whole competition, a single game is possible. And France are not the mighty force they’ve been billed (even if they are still many peoples’ tournament favourites, just behind Brazil). But we disagree with the bookies. Why? Not only are France without Benzema, but their midfield is unproven, and they are prone to infighting.
That’s just a couple of reasons why we think Australia has a chance going into tomorrow morning’s game. Read on to hear them all.
Benzema is out injured
I know they did it without him last time. But four years is four years. And as of 2022, Benzema is the best number 9 in the world, so it’s a huge blow for Les Blues. And though Giroud did a cool scorpion kick that one time, I’m pretty sure he’s past it now.
Mbappe isn’t as scary as he used to be
Hear me out. I’m not saying Mbappe is past it. I’m not that delusional. But… have you heard of Haaland? While Mbappe has been busy getting (allegedly) petty with Neymar and co. at PSG, Haaland has overtaken him as the most feared attacker in the world (and in the hardest league to boot). And though Mbappe is basically the same lethal force (arguably better) than he was four years ago at 19, and though he now has more experience on his side, it’s possible he is not mentally in that pristine, underdog state that he was in 2018, when he was a very young gun that was able to surprise people.
Also, I heard once in PDHPE at school that men peak physically at 19 and then slowly tail off until they are 29 (before then dropping off even harder). So perhaps Mbappe won’t be quite as fast as he was at 19? Only time (and defender’s studs) will tell. Oh, on top of that, I reckon Mbappe will secretly be seething about all the attention Haaland is getting. So – though he might have a point to prove – he might also be feeling the pressure a bit more than when he was a 19-year-old wunderkid.
Dembele can be hot and cold
Don’t get me wrong, he can give defenders nightmares. But his career at Barcelona has been far from easy sailing, and there was a time when many people thought he was going to leave.
Griezmann has had a tough few years
Griezmann might have been (almost) the Next Coming of Messi in 2018, but since then he has endured a spell at Barcelona that didn’t work out, and a return to an Athletico Madrid which – though they won the league in 2021, just before he arrived back – have recently been abysmal. Griezmann can still be lethal, but as lethal as 2018? I doubt it.
France’s midfield is unproven at a World Cup

Cavaminga and Tchouameni might be among the hottest young centre midfielders in the world. They might have chemistry, playing together at European Champions Real Madrid. They might also have big game experience, having enjoyed a fair bit of Champions League football at Madrid. But Modric, Kroos and Casemiro (before he left), despite much needing the French pair’s legs (and depth they gave the squad) last year, were still the stalwarts that provided the foundation for Madrid’s midfield. So though many people are saying the absence of Pogba and Kante isn’t all that important, it could prove pivotal.
France’s defence counts for f*ck all
Ok, that may be a slight exaggeration. And yes: Konate may play for Liverpool and Upamecano may play for Bayern. Pavard and Hernandez may be super solid. Lloris may be world-class. But in the end, none of that matters. Why? Because Australia (and I say this as lovingly as possible) is shit. We’d be relying on luck anyway, to beat the vast majority of teams in this tournament. Against France, all we need is a moment of madness, a piece of luck, a scramble in the box. So France’s – on paper – pristine defence isn’t the be-all and end-all. We just need to make something crazy happen.
Australia have nothing to lose
Who doesn’t love an underdog? Not to mention: France have the weight of last tournament’s medals around their necks.
Australia actually have a bit of talent
As rudely as we often write ourselves off, we have a bit of talent. Not only do we have beautiful bearded babe (and penalty saving hero) Andrew Redmayne, but we’ve also got classy attacking midfielders like Verona playmaker Ajdin Hrustic. Hrustic, who is 26, “is without rival…Australia’s most creative midfielder,” according to FIFA.
FIFA calls him “elegant and confident on the ball” and remarks that “his ability to both score and create established the Verona playmaker as the breakout star of the Socceroos’ Qatar 2022 qualifying campaign.”
Per FIFA: “Team-mates have been quick to acknowledge as much, with winger Matt Leckie lauding Hrustic’s ability to ‘at any time of the game, pick a pass or do something special’. World Cup defences should also be wary of his capacity for the spectacular in set-piece situations, which was demonstrated more than once during the World Cup preliminaries.”
We’ve also got winger Awer Mabil, who plays in the Spanish top flight (for rough and tough outfit Cadiz), who is another FIFA “player to watch” and whose journey to the World Cup is an inspiring one, and 31-year-old Aaron Mooy, an Aussie legend of the game, who is still plying his trade in the midfield at a pretty good level (after a stint in Shanghai he’s now in Scotland). And of course Matty Ryan, our keeper, who used to play in the Premier League for Brighton (he’s now at Danish champions FC Copenhagen).
So – though our coach Graham Arnold’s words to FIFA+ back in June don’t exactly bellow confidence (“I know we don’t have anyone at the moment consistently starring in the world’s biggest leagues, but there is talent there”) here at DMARGE we are calling for faith (Arnold has also made more optimistic comments like “I believe in my players”). To be fair, also, it’s good to have a realist as a coach.
Starting lineups
Australia is predicted to take a defensive formation and France is expected to go a little more attacking. If Australia gets a lucky goal, this could backfire on France.
Sporting News predicts Australia will line up as follows: “(3-4-1-2, right to left): 1. Ryan (GK) — 2. Degenek, 19. Souttar, 4. Rowles — 3. Atkinson, 13. Mooy, 22. Irvine, 23. Goodwin, 10. Hrustic — 15. Duke, 9. Maclaren.”
They then reckon France will line up like this: “(4-2-3-1, right to left): 1. Lloris (GK) — 2. Pavard, 24. Konate, 18. Upamecano, 21. Lucas Hernandez — 8. Tchouameni, 25. Camavinga — 10. Mbappe, 7. Griezmann, 11. Dembele, 9. Giroud.”
The big occasion starts at 6am tomorrow. Go set your alarms.

Saying, “how’s it going?” to anyone you meet and not being able to eat potato wedges without a side of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, are just some of the truths all Aussie men live by in their everyday life. But what about when it comes to skincare and looking after yourself?
Most blokes will likely tell you they either don’t have any sort of grooming routine, or they just use a shaving cream and aftershave balm every other week. Well, we’re here to tell you that it needs to change, as a proper grooming routine will not only work wonders for you in your current state but will help you stay looking your damn finest into later life.
Fortunately, Australian men’s skincare brand Brutal Truth knows this all too well and has developed a range of simple, affordable and effective products that men can use on a daily basis.
But just how can they help? Read on to find out.
Nobody’s ugly, just broke

Often used when referring to celebrity ‘glow-ups’ and the fact the rich and famous spend money on surgery, even though they were never ‘ugly’ beforehand, this is a harsh truth that is actually a backhanded compliment.
Fortunately, with Brutal Truth, you can ensure you look your best without having to spend a huge amount of money. The company uses native Australian ingredients and is vegan-friendly, so you know you’re not going to put anything on your face that shouldn’t be there. Best of all, Brutal Truth skincare is accessible to all Australian men, being available in Woolworths and Coles supermarkets around the country.
People will always look better on Instagram than in real life

This one shouldn’t come as a shock. Ever since the introduction of Instagram and photography filters, people have been going out of their way to edit their pictures to give off the illusion their life is amazing and that they look perfect 24/7. But the wise ones among us know it’s all bulls**t.
You can look just as good in real life as you do on Instagram, however, by stocking your bathroom cabinet with the Brutal Truth product range. The company’s foaming facial cleanser, for example, uses natural native ingredients including Kakadu plum and tea tree oil to help remove impurities from your skin and leave you looking fresh, energised and cleansed.
Sunburn isn’t sexy

And it hurts like hell, which is why you need to wear an SPF on a daily basis. Even if the sun isn’t shining, UV rays are still lingering around just waiting to damage your skin. To help combat the effects of UV, start each day with the Brutal Truth moisturiser with SPF. Not only does the moisturising component keep your skin hydrated, but the SPF works to defend your skin. It’s a win-win.
Men are simple creatures

At least, that’s the excuse we like to hand out every now and then. But simple really can be good, especially when it comes to showering. Having multiple bottles of shampoos, body washes and any other products you want to use on your body clogging up space in your shower can be cumbersome. But you can replace all of them with the Brutal Truth 3-in-1 body, face and hair wash.
Formulated using natural Australian ingredients, Aloe Vera and essential oils, you’ll step out of the shower feeling like a totally new man with the assurance that every inch and crevice of you is clean and fresh as a daisy.
Moustaches are in

Brutal Truth Shave Gel uses native and natural Australian ingredients to provide an irritation-free shaving experience; you’ll wonder how you ever went without a moustache in the first place. Also, given that the brand is a huge supporter of Movember and helps fund important projects to provide men with the help they need, what better way to show your support than by shaving off your beard or growing a moustache?
Brutal Truth is currently available at Woolworths and Coles stores nationwide.

Rub your ears and rinse your eyes: porn just got aired on a digital billboard in Brisbane. Police are still searching for the culprits, with the hackers having got away with the crime… for now.
Drivers on one of Brisbane’s busiest roads got a rude shock on Sunday. Porn was aired on a billboard on Milton Road. The billboard was owned by Goa, a family-owned business that looks after more than 70 digital billboards around southeast Queensland.
Goa said the billboard started to blast porn on Sunday. They say they have given police images of people who “may be able to help with their inquiries.”
The porn was reportedly displayed for some time between a few seconds and up to three and a half minutes. Within minutes of the cyber attack, the company’s IT team shut off the billboard and began looking into the breach.
“No other screen in our network was affected in any way; all continue to operate as scheduled,” the company said. “Apart from this one-off incident, the rest of our internal transmission systems, including security systems, were not breached in any way.”

According to The Brisbane Times, Police said they had got a complaint “after a secure advertising billboard structure on Milton Road was broken into on Sunday morning.”
Also according to The Brisbane Times, Goa managing director Chris Tyquin said the company had not received threats and that the police were still investigating the motive of the attack.
A spokesperson from Goa told Mumbrella: “As a family‐owned business…no manner or format of pornography is acceptable. It is totally inconsistent with our company values and within the community in which we operate.”
“The public transmission or proliferation of any material of a pornographic nature is abhorrent to Goa and all of our people. We regret the offence or distress that this may have caused to members of the public who evidenced this transmission.”

Over on Reddit, where the news first broke, a heady debate broke out about the attack. One user said it showed Australia needed better cyber security (“it’s genuinely depressing how bad data security is, even at the companies that try to do it right”), while another said the implications weren’t so far-reaching.
This calm soul said: “I think you underestimate the simplicity of this attack. Most likely someone got physical access to the computer that displays the video located inside the sign and opened a browser to a porn site.”

The following article was produced in partnership with Van Heusen.

With 2022 offering the first real chance many of us in Australia can truly celebrate the party season, there’s never been a better time to update your wardrobe accordingly. Whether you have a work Christmas party, countless summer weddings or a day at the races, there’s only one brand you need to know when getting ready this year: Van Heusen.
With its history dating back as far as 1881 in Pennsylvania, Van Heusen has remained at the forefront of men’s formal wear ever since. It was Dutch immigrant John Manning Van Heusen who spearheaded this charge, thanks to his revolutionary (and now ubiquitous) soft-folding shirt collar, invented in 1919. Van Heusen shirts making full use of this new collar design began being imported to Australia from the 1930s, and the rest, as they say, is history.

No longer just a shirtmaker, however, Van Heusen is now here to reignite the menswear space, using its decades of design experience and keen eye for craftsmanship, to deliver a collection it’s calling “any wear, any time.”
Van Heusen’s Spring/Summer ‘22 collection is one all Australian men can get excited about as it not only looks the part, but it’s one with a healthy dose of fun injected into it, and one that encourages us all to dress up again.
It’s certainly understandable; the past few years have seen us all resort to loose-fitting t-shirts, sweatpants and hoodies, as we all became accustomed to working from home and dancing around our kitchen to hold onto any form of party spirit.

But now Australia has something to celebrate: Van Heusen is taking the lead and telling us we can now ditch the dodgy clothing and make ourselves feel great again. After all, when we look good in what we wear, our positive inner self radiates through.
While it may not have originated in Australia, Van Heusen holds the Australian market close to everything it does, and it’s this bond that sees the brand using locally-sourced materials where possible in its collection. Premium Australian wool provides the backbone for its Black Label suit collection, for example.

It’s the more casual suiting that has us giddy with excitement, though. Not only are they presented in summer-ready colours, but they’re incredibly versatile, capable of being worn either with a business shirt, or a more casual t-shirt for an elevated, off-duty look.
It’s not just shirts and suits where Van Heusen shines in 2022. The brand has also introduced a more casual capsule collection of wardrobe staples, including t-shirts, chinos, polo shirts and shorts. No matter what you choose, you can be assured every piece in Van Heusen’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection has been made to the highest quality and in ethical and sustainable ways.

Indeed, Van Heusen is committed to doing its part for the environment and has set itself the target of generating zero waste, reducing its carbon footprint and eliminating hazardous chemicals through its entire supply chain by 2030. Mick Schumacher was given a telling off by Haas’ engineers after doing donuts at the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.
Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo were not the only ones who potential had their final races in Formula One at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend; Haas’ Mick Schumacher finds himself without a seat for next year, being replaced by German driver Nico Hulkenberg.
But while the other veterans were allowed to celebrate with some signature donuts at the end of the race, Mick Schumacher was a stern talking to by the Haas engineers for doing the same.
After finishing P16, the engineers initially thanked Schumacher – who is the son of seven-time World Drivers’ Champion Michael Schumacher – for his time with the team. They said,
“Thanks a lot, thanks for always pushing, we’ve really enjoyed working with you, and we’ll be racing you again sometime.”

Schumacher thanked his team before the engineers again replied, “We all love you here Mick, thanks buddy.”
After this cordial exchange, the young German driver, who may be racing as a reserve driver for Mercedes next year, decided to carve up some engine smoke and perform some donuts in celebration.
However, Haas’ engineers weren’t exactly thrilled to see this. Trackside Engineering Director Ayao Komatsu responded:
“Sorry Mick. Can you stop doing donuts, please? Seriously! I am sorry Mick. But, we just can’t.”

To this Mick – whether apologetically or cheekily (or both!) is up to debate – by saying “It’s alright, Ayao. Love you too.”
Whether Haas were looking to avoid a fine or protect the engine of their car is unknown, but it is a shame to see a two-year partnership come to a slightly bitter end.
Donuts celebrated online
Despite the Haas engineers giving the 23-year-old driver a parental telling off, Mick’s donuts were celebrated by the Haas social media team on Twitter.
“Btw we got some post-race donuts from Mick,” a post from Haas’ official twitter account said.
The next tweet they then posted a photo of Mick Schumacher mid-donut at the end of the race.

Clearly the social media team didn’t get the memo that Mick received a telling for his celebratory performance, or like us, they were simply happy to see him enjoy his last few moments in the Haas car.
Sky Sports pundit and ex-racing driver Martin Brundle believes that the German’s exit from the team was based on his poor performances and retinue.
“They have gone for the security of experience – Mick has crashed too many cars,” Brundle said, “I think the team were fed up of Mick’s entourage and all the pressure that came with that.”
But, Schumacher believes this is not the last we will see of him in F1.
“It didn’t feel like the last race of the season and it didn’t feel like my last race,” he said.
“My mind is pretty much settled on coming back in ’24, if not earlier in ’23.”
Given the driver is only 23, with two years’ experience in the big leagues, he could certainly be a viable option in the near future.
