The meme-based cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) soared 35% after the token made its debut on the American share trading app, Robinhood.
SHIB’s value surged from $0.000022 ($0.000029 AUD) to $0.000030 ($0.000040 AUD) in just 3 hours before shedding some of its gains and evening out at $0.000027 ($0.000036 AUD).
According to data from analytics platform, IntoTheBlock — Shiba Inu’s substantial rally was assisted by a large group of long-term holders accumulating large amounts of the token over the past few months.
The platform showed that the number of long-term SHIB holders had been gradually increasing their holdings despite the broader crypto market’s lackluster performance. If true, this is good news for SHIB investors/’long term gamblers’.
Will SHIB’s Rally Last?
Put very simply, SHIB’s rally probably won’t last long. Despite the good news about SHIB being bought up by long term holders – which shows sustained interest in the project – the experts aren’t particularly excited about SHIB’s prospects over the next few weeks.
Cointelegraph analyst, Yashu Gola says that Shiba Inu is still very much in a downward slump, and predicts that the token will crash through the $0.000012 ($0.000016 AUD) mark in the coming weeks – an impressive 60% decrease from today’s price.
Unless the overall market conditions change and everyone starts funnelling cash into altcoins again, it seems pretty unlikely that SHIB will gain in price from here.
SHIB belongs to a class of cryptocurrency assets known as memecoins or “sh*tcoins” and they tend to be on the more risky side. However, when tokens such as SHIB or its predecessor, DOGE, have strong communities and large groups of convicted holders, investors can see strong rewards from owning the token.
The popularity of memecoins is mostly generated by FOMO and hearing stories like: “the greatest trade of all time,” where one SHIB investor managed to turn $8000 USD ($11171 AUD) into $5.7 billion ($7.9 billion AUD) after purchasing 70 trillion tokens (13% of the total supply) when SHIB launched on August 1, 2020.
At the end of the day, investing in tokens like SHIB is ultra risky, and because the cryptocurrency has a $15 billion ($20 billion AUD) market there’s essentially a 0% chance that you will 10X your money by investing in it today. Unless you’re an experienced trader, who understands technical analysis, how to read charts and you can accurately interpret short-term price signals – all investing in SHIB and other meme coins should be treated like gambling.

If we had a dollar for every time someone told us their tattoos are the result of a drunk night in Bali, we’d have a pretty healthy bank balance. But, the fact of the matter is, summoning up the courage to get inked can sometimes only be made possible after a few drinks.
And now, Australian poster boy Chris Hemsworth has proven you don’t even need to go on a holiday escape to get a drink-fuelled tattoo, you can actually just get one done at home. Taking to Instagram earlier this week, Chris shared a few images of himself getting a tattoo by his friend, and owner of Forte Tattoos in Texas, Dillon Forte.
“Always fun catching up with @dillonforte. What do ya get when ya mix an old mate, couple beers and a tattoo gun…some trippy sacred geometry,” Chris captioned the post.
Chris ends the slideshow post with a look at the fresh ink on the inside of his right forearm, and it is indeed some “trippy sacred geometry.” It’s not the first tattoo Hemsworth has gotten, however, as he also has the initials C. E. I. T. and S written in symbols of the Runic alphabet. Chris’s wife, Elsa Pataky, also has the same tattoo, implying the initials likely refer to their names: Chris, Elsa and children, India, Tristan and Sasha.
Tattoos are becoming more and more common, and researchers reckon about four in every 10 young adults aged 18 to 29 have at least one tattoo. However, it’s important to note that it’s recommended you don’t consume alcohol (at least, in excessive quantities), before and after getting your ink done.
Alcohol can thin your blood, which can lead to excessive bleeding when the needle pierces your skin. All that extra blood can make it harder for the tattoo artist to see what they’re doing. Drinking after your tattoo can once again thin the blood, which could potentially make the healing process that much thicker. We’re sure Dillon would have made Chris aware of this fact, and so a couple of beers likely wouldn’t have had much effect.
Chris Hemsworth’s tattoo also comes shortly after health hacker Dave Asprey came out and said tattoos are bad for your health, claiming tattoo ink can contain “toxic metals.”
He added, “Oh and when they say, ‘Oh, it’s vegan,’ it’s usually plastics and endocrine disruptors so what my caffeine tattoo here is… this is done with carbon black which is activated charcoal.”
“So carbon black is apparently the safest one. I did a lot of research on doing this, if you have a lot of metals in your body… if you have metals in your body weird stuff happens. I already have enough metal in my body from an implant in my knee.”
Naturally, Dave’s comments attracted some criticism, with some essentially saying that nothing is truly good for you and that you should just live your life without fear. That’s exactly what Chris Hemsworth appears to have done. We’re just glad it wasn’t a truly alcohol-fuelled ‘shit tattoo’ that he’d end up regretting.
Now, how long until he ends up looking like Post Malone?

Hair loss: it’s a problem many men face. But even though it’s common, that doesn’t make it any easier to deal with; especially for those who really can’t stand the idea of becoming bald or doing the super obvious comb-over à la Homer Simpson.
While there are many treatments available like hair loss shampoos and hair transplants, one TikTok user has outlined an extremely simple method to avoid hair loss. The TikToker, Nick Coetzee, simply doesn’t wash his hair.
Coetzee says in his video – which you can watch below – that he used to suffer severe hair loss.
“So, about six years ago, my hair started receding and started coming out in clumps…. Clumps of hair would end up landing on my clothing.”
And then Coetzee details that, at the time, he thought his hair loss was being caused by all the hair products he used to wash his hair; so he decided to forego all products, including shampoo, just to see what happened.
“It was the chemicals and things I was putting in my hair while I was washing and using traditional shampoo and conditioner. What I decided to do was to stop using any of these products and surprisingly my hair got a lot healthier.”
Just looking at Coetzee, you’d never think he once suffered from severe hair loss, as in his video, his blonde locks are luscious and thick. Therefore, there may be some merit to his claims, but if you’re dubious to stop using shampoo because of how greasy your hair will get, Coetzee addresses this and says you just have to push through it for a few weeks.
“You might think, if you stop washing your hair it’s gonna be greasy and it does do that for about two or three weeks but after that your natural oils come back, you know you’ve been stripping them with all the harsh chemicals, and then your hair can be extremely healthy without having to wash it anymore.”
Well, you heard the man. If you want an abundance of healthy hair on top of your head, stop washing your hair.

There’s nothing worse than doing a quick trip to Woolworths to get some milk or bread and realising when you get to the checkout that you’ve left your rewards card at home. How else will you score sweet, sweet discounts on groceries or earn bonus Qantas frequent flyer points?
Well, one man, Ralph Rivera, has come up with a genius (or idiotic, depending on who you ask) solution to this problem: a tattoo of his Woolworths Everyday Rewards Card.
A TikTok video (which you can watch below) shows Rivera scanning his arm, which looks to be tattooed with the barcode of his Woolies member card, and the self-serve checkout actually recognises it by confirming out loud “your Everyday Rewards Card has been added”.
TikTok users are now debating whether this idea – which Rivera himself has dubbed a “tattoo hack” – is good or not. Several users praised Rivera, with one commenting, “might have to do this, always forget me rewards card” while another simply wrote, “smart”.
However, other TikTok users dismissed the whole thing as stupid because Everyday Rewards Card’s barcodes apparently change regularly and smartphones have the capability to do the same thing as Rivera’s tattoo.
One user commented, “Too bad the rewards card numbers change every few years”, while others wrote, “I just use my Apple Wallet but okay” and “I just use an app on my phone called StoCard to store all my rewards cards. I think it’s a little easier”.
Whether you think Rivera’s ‘tattoo hack’ is genius or not, at least it works. As one TikTok user pointed out, “imagine getting the tattoo and it didn’t work”. RIP.

Joe Rogan – America’s most prominent podcaster and UFC commentator (he’s also a carnivore diet experimenter and hunting enthusiast) – has admitted to being scared by a spider.
“I found this in the garage,” Rogan posted to Instagram on Tuesday. “It wasn’t even the size of a silver dollar and I was stopped in my tracks at how big it was.”
“That’s how creepy spiders are. If a mouse or a rat was that size I would think it was adorable and I’d try to safely get it outside. A silver dollar sized spider would induce sheer terror in many people, me included.”
Joe Rogan
The image shows a wolf spider – a poisonous but not lethal arachnid, commonly found in Texas, where Rogan lives.
Wolf spiders are not aggressive, but bite if provoked. According to spiders.com.au, wolf spider bites can be very painful and “first aid and medical attention should be sought as soon as possible, particularly as to children or the elderly.”
The comments next to Rogan’s photo show various Americans freaking out about what is a fairly routine occurrence for many Australians (finding a poisonous spider in your house). Some jokingly suggested Rogan should move house, while others made comments like: “Just looking at this picture makes me queasy.”
One Instagram user said: “Toss a steak at it.”
Should have it on the podcast
— Matthew reist (@ReistMatthew) April 12, 2022
Another said: “In Texas, they call this a Californian.” Meanwhile, here in Australia, this could be seen as a sign of an American…
Speaking of which, one user warned that if Rogan is scared by spiders he’d “Maybe [be best to] give Australia a miss.”
Australians often find White Tip spiders in their houses, and if they are unlucky, the more venomous Redbacks and sometimes (venomous and aggressive) Funnel-web spiders, too.

Just four days ago, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Will Smith is banned from attending future Academy Awards ceremonies – or any other Academy events – for the next ten years, in light of him slapping Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony.
Also due to Smith’s outburst during the Oscars, according to the Guardian, multiple films and projects that Smith was attached to are now being stalled; with some under the threat of being cancelled altogether.
While I don’t condone Smith’s act of violence, it seems that he’s swiftly being ‘cancelled’ and is facing serious repercussions. This highlights how hypocritical Hollywood can be.
Where was all this energy when Chris Brown pleaded guilty to physically assaulting Rihanna in 2009? Despite admitting that he beat his then-girlfriend, to the point that she had two contusions and an extremely bloody and bruised nose and lips, on the eve of the Grammys, Brown was never banned from attending the prestigious music award ceremony.

Plus, the rapper/singer has repeatedly been accused of alleged assaults and rapes over the years by multiple different women and yet, as of 2022, Brown has won 124 awards – including a Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2012 – and is considered one of the world’s best-selling artists – the last album he released, Indigo, in 2019, reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Similarly, Louis C.K. just recently won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album despite the fact that in 2017 he admitted that several sexual misconduct allegations made against him were true. Why have Brown’s and C.K.’s – among countless other celebrities who have been accused of/admitted to wrongdoing – careers still flourished? Why wasn’t Brown or C.K. banned from attending award ceremonies when they admitted to doing things much worse than Smith’s slap?
You could argue that Smith is facing more backlash than either of those two men ever received because he hit Rock during a live broadcast for the entire world to see. However, let’s not forget that in 2003, when Adrien Brody won the Oscar for Best Actor, he grabbed Halle Berry – who was presenting him with the award – and kissed her.
The moment went viral and yet Brody has continued to have a successful career and was never banned from attending the Academy Awards, even though what he did to Berry during the Oscars ceremony that was broadcast live around the world can be considered as sexual assault. And before you say, ‘well maybe it wasn’t sexual assault, maybe Berry knew about the kiss and it was planned’ – it wasn’t.
Berry told Andy Cohen during an episode of Watch What Happens Live in 2017 that her reaction at the time of the unwarranted kiss was, “What the f**k is happening?”
A similar incident involving Jim Carrey forcibly kissing Alicia Silverstone when he received an award at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards was also broadcast live; and yet Carrey – who is one of the celebrities who have condemned Smith for his Oscars slap – still had an incredible career after doing so.
Many have taken to Twitter to voice their outrage at the hypocrisy of how Smith’s career is quickly taking a dive when so many other stars have continued to thrive despite doing “much worse.”
“This is 100% racially motivated. Jim Carrey sexually assaulted a woman live on stage and she was visually distressed. Will Smith slaps a dude for mocking an illness and gets banned for a decade.”
Twitter user @somari8591
Ultimately, it’s clear that Hollywood really needs to get its priorities in order and hold ALL celebrities accountable for their actions.

At what point does looking out for your own interests on a long haul flight go from “expected” to “selfish”?
One brave woman just fired up this exact debate, asking Reddit’s “Am I the asshole?” (AITA) community whether her behaviour on a recent 10-hour flight qualifies her as an “asshole.”
The Reddit user (u/tresspassingchickens) says she refused to switch seats with a mother, who was travelling with a toddler, twice, on a 10-hour flight from the US to Europe.
Why? She claims she is 6’5,” with “damaged knees from soccer” and so considers “legroom and the ability to get up and walk frequently…a must.”
She explained on Reddit: “I booked an aisle seat in economy plus for the above reasons. Normally I try to get bulkhead seats or business class if reasonable but this was a last minute flight for a death in the family. The other two passengers in our row of 3 were a woman and her toddler.”
“The toddler was screaming bloody murder in the waiting area and continued to once seated in the middle seat, leaning away from mom and against me while doing so.”
u/tresspassingchickens
“I have very sensitive hearing due to ruptured eardrums, so I put in noise canceling earphones but those can only do so much when the source of the sound is less than a foot away.”
“A flight attendant took notice and asked me for my drink order prior to takeoff, which I guess shows how visibly uncomfortable I was.”
Things then got worse, with the person in front reclining their seat (which hurt the woman’s knees). The woman then went for a walk and then when she came back the mother asked if she would mind switching to the window seat.
The woman refused, and explained she didn’t want to have to be climbing over them all flight (and waking them up, as it was a long flight) to get up to walk.
The woman then claims that on her next walk, the flight attendant said there was a space in business class and asked if she’d like to move up.
“We were close enough to my seat that the [mother of the toddler] heard and asked if they could be upgraded instead. The FA just shrugged but I said I’d take it. It was an aisle seat and the middle was empty, so the two of them could have taken it too.”
“I couldn’t refuse the chance to get a bit of sleep. I had a ~3 hour train ride and then tram after landing, I’d need to stay awake after 2 hours on the train and then immediately go to a funeral because it was late morning when I arrived at my mom’s house.”
“While in line for customs the woman was a few people behind me, she called me a prick and kept raising her voice to make comments about me to her son like ‘that mean lady wouldn’t let you have the nice seats.’ I don’t know why it was offered to me first, but AITA?”

Reddit swiftly pronounced the woman not “the asshole” and branded the mother, who had the cheek to try to take someone else’s upgrade, the asshole.
“NTA [not the asshole],” one Reddit user wrote. “You were lucky. They wouldn’t upgrade a toddler. The rest of business class would revolt.”
Another said: “The FA didn’t offer them an upgrade, so she had no more right to it than if she had gone and asked some one in Business to trade with her.”
Others chimed in on why she was offered the move. “Flight attendant saw your situation and took pity on you,” one said. “There was no chance they were moving a toddler up there.”
RELATED: Passenger’s Sneaky Act At 40,000ft Leaves Seat Mate Stunned
“Yeah, you needed that seat, they wouldn’t upgrade a toddler, and an entitled parent like that, who isn’t parenting,” another Reddit user added. “My sisters are both right [sic] attendants, and they have often told me about having to upgrade someone who was sat in a bad situation, and pretty much every time the person responsible for the upset demands they be the one to be upgraded.”
The story also sparked discussion around what kind of person overhears someone getting an upgrade and inserts themselves into the conversation (see: the various comments along the lines of: “Who overhears someone getting an upgrade and pipes up requesting they get it instead of the person it was offered to?”).
Others said you are never obligated to switch seats (even though in some situations it might be the nice thing to do).
“You can reserve specific seats well in advance of the flight and I often pick a specific area/seat and often pay extra for it,” one Reddit user said. “You’re not obligated to move seats, especially if it’s for a downgraded seat.”

Autonomous vehicles will be the future of driving. Car manufacturers and technology companies are constantly chasing the ‘next big thing’ and, now that electric cars are pretty much taken care of, focus has shifted to driverless vehicles.
Forgetting the most obvious factors that should be considered with regard to autonomous vehicles – are they going to be genuinely safe? – what happens in the event an autonomous vehicle disobeys the Highway Code and the police need to step in?
Welcome to the future. Cop pulls over driverless car (because no lights?) Then Cruise goes on the lamb. (via https://t.co/mtmsIeOAUP) pic.twitter.com/ecQ5xXuSnS
— Seth Weintraub (@llsethj) April 10, 2022
That question has been (sort of) answered by way of a video recently posted to Twitter and Reddit. The video, posted to Twitter by user @llsethj, shows police officers in San Francisco, California pulling over an autonomous taxi from the company, Cruise.
Cruise has been operating driverless taxis in San Francisco since November 2021, when CEO Kyle Vogt took the first driverless taxi ride, however, according to TechCrunch, the general public have only been allowed to hail driverless taxis since earlier in 2022.
In the video, however, police can be seen putting their lights on to signal to the Cruise car to pull over when at a set of traffic lights. The Cruise car then drives forward, puts the hazard lights on and pulls over to the side of the road. At first, it isn’t immediately obvious why the police want to pull the car over in the first place, but a quick look at the comments on the video reveal it didn’t have its headlights on when driving at night.
It’s claimed Cruise personnel became aware of the incident in real time and it was they who instructed the car (by way of controlling the car from another location) to pull over at the second location.
The police would have likely known it was a driverless vehicle (the cameras on top should have been a giveaway) although seeing as a couple of them made several walks around the car and had several looks inside, they were either amazed or bemused by the technology. One of the officers can then be seen making a phone call. Again, going off the comments, the police have a direct line to Cruise to help remedy any infractions made by its driverless vehicles.
The video also appeared on Twitter, and Cruise itself responded to make light of the situation.
We work closely with the SFPD on how to interact with our vehicles, including a dedicated phone number for them to call in situations like this.
— cruise (@Cruise) April 10, 2022
The video cuts off before any fault is fixed and the Cruise car can continue its journey. But it does open up the question of just how viable driverless vehicles are right now. TechCrunch cites Elizabeth E. Joh, a law professor at UC Davis, who has written an essay on the topic of driverless vehicles and police interactions.
She says, “An autonomous car would be a programmable car. Perhaps speed enforcement will be a thing of the past, either because cars will be programmed to stay within the legal speed limit, or because such violations will be automatically enforced with a ticket sent to drivers’ electronic dashboards.”
“But even in this version of the future, police will still seize cars. A person inside the autonomous car may have an outstanding arrest warrant. The police may suspect that the car contains contraband or evidence of a crime. By no longer requiring human control, autonomous cars may even encourage more types of crime to take place within them.”
“The police and the public will interact differently when there is little human involvement in driving, so much of the Fourth Amendment is premised upon human drivers and human police officers, that means that a future of automated car stops will pose novel and difficult questions of law and policy that we should begin to address now.”
Fully autonomous vehicles are very much still in their infancy stage. Electric car manufacturer Tesla offers some form of autonomous driving in its vehicles, but for now, they still require a human driver to be in the car and to have their hands on the wheel so that they can intervene should anything go wrong.
While the video certainly proves autonomous vehicles can indeed be let loose on public roads, the ways in which they will truly and safely integrate with an already functioning society remains to be seen.

A superyacht moored in Valencia now looks like the crusty bottom of a Paella pan. The yacht in question was a beautiful, multi-million dollar Sanlorenzo SX88.
The fire broke out at around 1pm local time. Five fire crews came to deal with the flame-engulfed vessel.
The yacht has been identified as Pesa, a 2019 model from Sanlorenzo’s SX crossover line. Witnesses say the flames were extinguished by firefighters but reignited a few seconds later without the firefighters being able to control the fire.
The incident occurred on Friday last week.
The yacht, which Boat International reports was 27 metres, and which Las Provincias reports was 23 metres, was engulfed by flames while firefighters called for backup. As you can see in the video, the burning fibreglass created a column of smoke.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but initial investigations suggest the fire was started by a fault with the yacht’s lithium batteries. One Twitter user (see below) wondered out loud whether the yacht could have been owned by an Oligarch worried about sanctions…
Anyone knows if an oligarch owned it? Could need insurance money.
— Cabrewer (@cabfromnyc1) April 11, 2022
The incident did not cause injury or damage to other boats. After 12 hours of trying to get the flames under control, the remnants of the yacht partially sank.
The yacht was reportedly carrying 8,000 litres of fuel, but emergency services have said the fire has not caused any discharge into the water. The yacht, according to Las Provincias, was worth about 5 million euros (AUD $7.3 million dollars), weighed 82 tonnes and has been left semi sunk after the destruction.
