Jaeger-LeCoultre, one of the world’s finest purveyors of wrist candy, has teamed up with Kennedy, one of the world’s most impressive luxury retailers, for an exciting pop-up at Chadstone Shopping Centre.
The exclusive holiday season pop-up event is in operation from Monday 21st November through to Sunday 4th December.
At the pop-up, the Swiss watchmaker is giving you the chance to get hands-on with the brand’s iconic Reverso. The pop-up has a special link to the Maison’s latest collaboration with Spanish-born, New York-based lettering artist Alex Trochut.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s collaboration with Alex is part of its ‘Made of Makers’ programme, which sees La Grande Maison partnering with various visionaries, to expertly demonstrate how the worlds of horology and art can co-exist.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s collaboration introduces a new alphabet – the 1931 Alphabet – that is destined to become an additional signature of the brand, and one that provides a firmly modern addition to the Maison’s visual identity. All inspired by the art deco nature of the Reverso.
If you’re a watch fan, and you’re interested in checking out a Reverso at the pop-up (just think of the Art Deco design, or the supremely cool rotating case), you’ll want to get yourself down to Chadstone Shopping Centre by Sunday 4th December at the latest.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Chadstone pop-up is just a short walk from the KENNEDY Boutique in the Chadstone Shopping Centre’s forecourt, on the Ground Level, between Mecca and Dior Cosmetics.
Anyone who visits will not only be able to view the iconic Reverso collection but will walk away with an exclusive Maison gift (yes, Christmas really has come early).
No appointment is required, however, if you wish to make one, you are welcome to contact the KENNEDY boutique at +61 3 9108 0633.

Christmas gifting is never easy. What starts out as a thoughtful gift idea ends up being a last-minute dash to the shops to pick up whatever we can find on the shelves. This year, maybe it’s time you got a loved one a gift that they will not only appreciate but keep for the rest of their lives – a precious keepsake that shows how well you know them; a token of true thought and consideration.
Enter: Kennedy, Australia’s leading luxury retailer, has an extensive selection of watches and jewellery that make for the perfect gifts this holiday season. A luxury watch is the epitome of a thoughtful gift, with each piece functioning as a subtle extension of one’s personality.
Whether it be a specific colour choice, a style or even a brand, the watch one wears is more than just something to tell the time. So, knowing what makes your loved ones tick is a gift in and of itself.
While you can find a huge range through Kennedy’s online store, we’ve picked some of our favourite standout pieces that are guaranteed to impress.
IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (ref. IW388101)
AU$11,400
One of the most iconic watches of all time, the IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch, is one that has influenced the design of countless mimics but has remained the quintessential pilot’s watch throughout its long and storied history.
Available in a range of sizes to suit all tastes, we feel this 41mm model hits the absolute sweet spot; large enough to make a statement yet small enough to be a daily wearer, the IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41mm is one you’ll get plenty of use from.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Night & Day Medium (ref. Q3442430)
AU$41,400
For the female watch lover, Kennedy has plenty to offer. One of the retailer’s most alluring timepieces is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Night & Day Medium. JLC has long been a proponent of the lady’s watch and understands that to women, it’s more than just a time-teller, but a piece of high-end jewellery.
Presented in pink gold with a sparkling diamond setting around the perimeter of the 34mm case, nothing else embodies luxury and elegance quite like the JLC Rendez-Vous Night & Day Medium. The Night & Day complication at 6 o’clock alternates between a sun and a moon to mirror the sky while the numerals make reading the time clear and distinct.
Cartier Santos de Cartier (ref. W2SA0016)
AU$14,700
Effortlessly combining minimalistic, industrial style with outright elegance is the Cartier Santos de Cartier, perhaps one of the most perfect watches for any occasion. Capable of being dressed up and dressed down, the Santos de Cartier could just be the only watch you need in your collection.
Steeped in history yet undergoing a modern refresh for today’s gentleman, the Santos de Cartier is now powered by an in-house automatic movement, the 1847 MC. It has also received Cartier’s SmartLink system, allowing you to make simple adjustments to the length of the integrated bracelet without needing a tool. Innovative, timeless and wholly unique, the Cartier Santos de Cartier makes the perfect Christmas gift.
Cartier Panthère de Cartier (ref. W4PN0008)
AU$13,900
Proving that timeless design isn’t reserved solely for their men’s watches, the Cartier Panthère de Cartier is an exquisite option for women. First launched in 1983 and named after Louis-François Cartier’s design director and lover, Jeanne Toussaint, “the Panther,” the Panthère de Cartier has only needed minor updates to bring it into the 21st century.
Those changes include making it waterproof to 30 metres and a slight restructuring of the bracelet, everything else has been left untouched because, why change a design that has retained its truly iconic status?
OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M (ref. 210.30.42.20.01.001)
AU$8,250
Nothing carries the same weight as being able to say you’re wearing the same watch as James Bond, and that’s exactly what you get with the OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M. The Seamaster series will be celebrating its 75th birthday in 2023 and the Professional Diver 300M, its 30th, two milestone birthdays that are more than justified for this timeless timepiece.
Ever so easy to wear on a daily basis and built to withstand whatever life may decide to throw at it, an OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M is a watch that should feature in the collection of all Australian men.
Panerai Submersible Goldtech OroCarbo (ref. PAM01070)
AU$46,600
If it’s not James Bond that men want to be, then we imagine The Rock is another figure men would love to mimic. But if you don’t have the same mountain of a physique, then you can at least equip yourself with his watch, the Panerai Submersible Goldtech OroCarbo.
A big, beefy watch in true Panerai style, this 44m model uses the Italian luxury watchmaker’s proprietary Goldtech alloy, which is resistant to oxidation and corrosion, while the bezel is made from a combination of Goldtech and Carbotech, which is both incredibly tough yet lightweight.
Check out the exciting range of luxury watches available at Kennedy’s online boutique here.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen recently finalised their “amicable” divorce, something which came after 13 years of marriage (and relatively shortly after Brady’s decision to ‘un-retire’ from NFL). Now the 45-year-old GOAT is single, fans are urging him to call Paige Spiranac, a former professional golf player who calls herself “OG Insta golf girl.”
Tom Brady spoke sombrely to a radio host in the wake of his divorce, saying: “We’re all humans. We do the best we could do.” The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback also said: “I think there’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home.”
“Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation and I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games.”
Now though, just weeks after this, some fans are already urging Brady to skip the sadness stage and get straight on the phone.
If I were Tom Brady, I’d call @PaigeSpiranac. 29 years old, incredibly hot, recently divorced and a former professional athlete who would understand and support what he does for a living. And Brady loves to play golf. Now this would be a power couple. pic.twitter.com/BYWbpkrhEJ
— dave smith (@davesportsgod) November 19, 2022
Dave Smith, a radio sports personality, said on Twitter that he thought Brady and Spiranac would be sweet together.
He wrote: “If I were Tom Brady, I’d call @PaigeSpiranac. 29 years old, incredibly hot, recently divorced and a former professional athlete who would understand and support what he does for a living. And Brady loves to play golf. Now this would be a power couple.”
Tom could do worse.
— Bdadguru (@bdadguru) November 23, 2022
The Internet rumour mill quickly went warp speed, with the likes of The New York Post, Outsider.com and TotalProSports all adding their own fuel to the fire.
TotalProSports wrote: “Make it happen!”
A friend (or follower) of Dave chimed in too, writing: “Dave. I walked 18 in phx open pro am with her. She’s a super nice person.”
Dave replied: “I know a guy who played 18 holes with her at some kind of celebrity event & he couldn’t stop talking about what a nice person she was. Didn’t make a difference if cameras were on or not. He’s no celebrity and she didn’t know who he was, but treated him unbelievably well.”
Paige responded to the pair, not dousing water on their suggestion but not inviting Brady to call, either. She wrote: “You guys are so sweet, thank you! It takes no effort to be nice so I always try to do my part to make someone’s day better.”

— Paige Spiranac (@PaigeSpiranac) November 19, 2022
Youtube account TouchDown said: “Though Paige doesn’t usually talk about her romantic relationships, her response doesn’t rule out the possibility of it happening.”
WATCH: Paige Spiranac says plenty of men – including Tom Brady – sexualise themselves for money
Don’t hold your breath for a Tom Brady Paige Spiranac power couple then, but don’t rule it out completely either. What can be said is that Paige has been thinking about Tom Brady’s body recently, even if not in that way, using him as an example for how, she says, men are often able to sexualise themselves for monetary gain without criticism, while women are generally not.
“There has been a ton of discussion around female athletes and showing off their bodies,” she said. “People are saying, ‘Stop over sexualizing yourself. You’re taking women back. No one is going to take you seriously,’ and I think that is a big stinkin’ pile of s–t.”
“Oh I know what you’re thinking, ‘Paige, a man would never ever show off his body for attention or over-sexualize himself or do it for a monetary gain. Hmm, are you sure about that?”
She then showed a bunch of shirtless dudes, including Tom Brady, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Lebron James.

Japan is quickly becoming the talk of the 2022 FIFA World Cup – and not just because of their team’s upset win over Germany in the group stage.
Japanese fans have won the respect of both Qatar and the world after fans were seen staying behind after Japan’s dramatic 2-1 win over Germany to clean up the stadium, something that spectators have called the ultimate act of sportsmanship.
Only minutes after securing the win – something that’s already been heralded as one of the greatest World Cup upsets of all time (although Saudi Arabia’s recent 2-1 win over Argentina is also solidly in contention) – Japanese fans were ready with blue plastic bags to pick up rubbish, with the sizeable contingent making short work of the mess.
Japanese fans also stayed behind to clean up after the opening game between Ecuador and Qatar. Pretty impressive considering their side wasn’t even playing.

Japanese football fans have developed a reputation for cleanliness: there were similar scenes of Japanese fans staying back to clean up stands at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, most notably after their 3-2 loss against Belgium in the round of 16.

Japan’s next game is against Costa Rica on Sunday night. Seeing as Costa Rica was annihilated 7-0 by Spain, Japan stands a more than decent chance of beating the small Latin American team and progressing further.

Every World Cup has a stand-out meme. And it looks like we’ve already found this year’s, with the Internet losing its marbles over a video of a Qatar fan adjusting his gutra.
We’ve already had a couple of prominent British football journalists remarking on how good-looking the Iranian national team is, and suggesting their back up goalkeeper “could be a model,” but now the Internet is realising just how sexy it is possible to look in a gutra, too.
WATCH: ‘Slay Queen’ of Qatar adjusts his gutra during Qatar vs. Ecuador World Cup match
A video posted to TikTok by @jv_luneta from the World Cup’s opening match between Qatar and Ecuador has helped us come to this realisation. The video shows a Qatar fan gesticulating, presumably incensed by a refereeing decision or some other slight.
As part of the movement, he holds his gutra above and to the side of his head, to let his frustrated facial expression be known. Finally, he readjusts his head wear, gently throwing his gutra back over his head, as if he were a runway model adjusting their long hair. He then looks at the camera and nods, as some TikTok users have called it, “guiltily.”
The video was posted alongside the sort of music you might hear in a nightclub. The clip has gone viral, amassing 22.1 million views at the time of writing. Comments beneath the clip include: “This guy became a world cup meme,” “that’s a hair flip for me” and “Queen of qatar.”
Others wrote things like: “Man looked quilty right after,” “yall gonna get lil dude in trouble” and “he’s so iconic.”
Not everyone jumped on the hype train though. One commenter wrote: “He did nothing at all, he adjusted the shemagh over his head, and this is the official dress in the Arabian Gulf.” Another said: “We do this movement all over the Gulf.”

He might have given up the mantle of the world’s most famous fictional spy, but the ever-dapper British actor hasn’t stopped wearing exceptionally cool tool watches.
Officially the longest-serving Bond, Craig filled 007’s shoes for 15 years before saying goodbye to the coveted role with 2021’s No Time to Die.
We’re still no closer to figuring out who will be the next Bond… But at least we have Craig’s impeccable wrist game to keep us entertained in the meantime.
First up, a new watch. The 54-year-old Englishman was spotted wearing the new OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M ‘James Bond 60th Anniversary’ at a special event hosted by the Swiss watch brand to celebrate 60 years of James Bond in London on Wednesday.

This eclectic rendition of the popular dive watch is effectively a mash-up between the original 90s model Pierce Brosnan wore in 1995’s GoldenEye with the limited-edition model Craig wore in No Time to Die.
It combines the 90s model’s classic dark blue colour scheme and distinctive wave-patterned dial with the Milanese bracelet of the No Time to Die model – but unlike the latter, it’s made out of steel, not titanium.

Its most extraordinary feature is on its caseback, though. It features a unique mechanism, which is connected to the running of the seconds hand, that plays out the iconic Bond ‘gun barrel’ opening sequence beneath the sapphire crystal. Very, very cool.

But that ain’t the only OMEGA Craig’s been spotted wearing lately. Earlier this week in New York, he elected to wear a rather tasteful vintage Seamaster for his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert…
A Seamaster 300 model from the 60s or 70s, it’s a low-key choice that he’s jazzed up by mounting it on a modern OMEGA NATO strap.

Whether you’re a beginner or you simply need a refresher, here are Sam Wood’s top tips for kickstarting your weight training routine.
For those about to begin weight training, you may feel overwhelmed entering the gym not knowing what half of the equipment is or does – and that is completely normal.
Of course, if you go to a good gym, they should absolutely help you with the right exercise choice, weight, and technique, but that is not always the way.
This in mind, here is my beginner’s guide for anyone getting into weight training for the first time. It can be done at the gym or at home with little equipment.

Start with the right basic exercises (the ones that work the big important muscles). Here are my top 6:
● Pull Ups (with bodyweight or band)
● Squats (with bar or dumbbells)
● Chest Press (with bar or dumbbell)
● Lunges (with dumbbells)
● Plank (Bodyweight)
● Overhead Press (Dumbbells or Bar)

Don’t start too light; don’t go too heavy
As a very simple guide. For strength gains and building/toning muscle remember this rule. If you can perform the lift for more than 15 reps it is too light. If you can’t do 5 quality reps, it is likely too heavy. As you gain strength, continue to up your weight to stay in this rep range.
Technique is more important than weight or reps

I always say to my clients that you should be controlling the weight, the weight should not be controlling you. Slow and controlled movements with good posture and control is what you are aiming for. Forget the ego, warm up well and you will move well. Avoid injury, and get great results.
Rest is key
Make sure you have adequate rest between sets (60 – 120 secs) and when you are just starting out with your weight training, you do not need to train every day. Train for 3 sessions a week with a rest day after each workout. Get out for a walk, ride, swim and stretch on these days to aid recovery and reduce any post workout soreness.
Weight training shouldn’t be something you should feel intimidated by. If you are wanting to test out training at home prior to heading to a gym, there are plenty of at-home exercises, online demonstrations, and tutorials to set you up for success.

There of course are many ways to introduce weight training into your life or routine but the important thing is you just get started. When we do weight training consistently, we improve strength, posture and bone density while also turbocharging our metabolism and improving fat burning.
Most importantly, know your limits. If in doubt, always talk to your trainer or an experienced PT to lead you in the right direction.

Talking to your seatmate at the start of a long-haul flight (and then ignoring them for the rest of it) is quite common. But why do we do it?
Human beings are social creatures. Except during long-haul flights, when we turn into tyrants and introverts (if you don’t know which you are, you’re the former). Speaking of which, a recent Reddit thread got my cogs spinning. The thread talked about the anxiety of someone taking your seat, and the irrational fear of creating a scene that grips many people to the point where they would prefer to say nothing than to ask the person to move.
This got me thinking about other absurd things we do on flights, such as talking with our seatmates for the first two minutes of being next to each other, and then spending the next 10-15 hours ignoring each other, and departing the flight without so much as a goodbye. Though Tamara Cavenett, The Australian Psychological Society’s President, told DMARGE: “Small talk is a very effective and low-risk way of building rapport with someone you don’t know,” I’m not so sure.
If you maintain a studious silence from the beginning, it’s not so weird when you ignore each other for the rest of the flight. However, in my experience, if you pucker up and make a bit of conversation at the start of the flight, the expectation is then there that you might continue having brief chit chats throughout the rest of the flight. The horror…
Imagine being the dude that gets on a flight, starts talking to your seatmate and literally never once stops.
— Gigi C. (@GigiClark4) September 16, 2022
For this reason, and so that you don’t have to keep lifting your headphones up to answer questions throughout your next flight, I reckon engaging in that two minutes of obligatory pre-flight chit chat, is a big mistake (if you, like me, are not so much a believer in the premise “hello goes a long way” but rather “dear lord let this flight be as self-absorbed and painless as possible.” Or in other words: if you are a socially awkward introvert.
RELATED: The One Drink You Should Always Order On A Flight, According To A Flight Attendant
Not everyone is so cynical however. Some people on Twitter even think it’s hilarious…
My seat mate on my flight is a 6 year old little girl who started our trip with “I’m going to talk to you randomly so you need to be prepared, ok?”
— Kati Hartwig (@KatiHartwig) August 7, 2021
On top of that, according to the experts there are some benefits to smalltalk before a flight. President Cavenett, for instance, says that “as social creatures…things like remarking on the weather and the logistics of travelling and often inoffensive but signal to your fellow passenger that you share common experiences and even interests, which helps to promote understanding, happiness and trust between you and removes uncertainty and doubt.”
“Being polite, active listening and positive body language are all important factors as well.”
Tamara Cavenett
“This in turn can make more difficult conversations, like asking for some private time without talking far easier. When asking for privacy, be sure to do so politely and thank them for the discussion that you’ve both had.”
Eh, experts. What do they know?

Argentina shocked the world with their 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia yesterday. Saudi Arabia was even shocked too. In fact, the Saudis were so impressed by their team’s win that they gave their citizens a public holiday to celebrate. But many people believe Argentina were screwed over by a stupid VAR rule that really ought to be changed.
Last night, Argentina looked like they were going to breeze past Saudi Arabia like a hungry man on his way to a juicy Asado. Messi scored penalty in the 10th minute and his team of superstars, one of the favourites to win the whole tournament, were all over Saudi Arabia, scoring three goals in the first half. Two of them were ruled out, however, and Saudi Arabia got goals in the 48th and 53rd minute, putting them 2-1 up.
Though Argentina dominated the second half too, they weren’t as dominant or confident as you might expect, Copa America winners as they are, playing an opposition ranked 51 in the world. Nerves seemed to be at play as time ran out and they failed to equalise, and looked to be rushing a little.
One British journalist, who covers primarily Spanish football, however, has come to the Argentina team’s defence (or used their demise as an excuse to push a point he has long championed, take your pick) and made the bold claim that VAR is flawed. He said the rule should be to measure from the feet, not the body, and that this silly way of measuring cost Argentina dearly.
Doesn’t matter who it is, have said this loads of times. Seems absurd that it’s not the feet that define offsides. The attacker is *behind the defender by some way here. (Especially if it’s going to become automated, a chip in boot being I would guess the easiest thing). pic.twitter.com/lQZLORcjag
— Sid Lowe (@sidlowe) November 22, 2022
“Doesn’t matter who it is, have said this loads of times,” Sid Lowe said. “Seems absurd that it’s not the feet that define offsides. The attacker is *behind the defender by some way here. (Especially if it’s going to become automated, a chip in boot being I would guess the easiest thing).”
Not everyone was convinced, with one Twitter user weighing in and commenting: “Why? You can play the ball with that upper part of your body” (to which another countered: “Offside law is designed to prevent advantage. There is no attacking advantage to leaning”). Another reckoned a whole other player kept the Argentine attacker onside.
Player #13 played him onside. Why is VAR looking at #12 when he is not the last defender? Makes no sense. pic.twitter.com/OSHwN4rNZ7
— ? (@manolinho89) November 22, 2022
Yet others said Argentina didn’t deserve their penalty anyway, so this was just desserts (“I feel Argentina didn’t even deserve the goal they scored,” said one).
RELATED: Qatar Accused Of Hiring ‘Fake Fans’, Further Embarassing World Cup 2022
We imagine the debate will continue to be had, and we can’t imagine this will be the only controversial VAR call that gets made this World Cup. But then, what even is soccer if we’re not all madly debating some decision or another. Happy World Cup.
