Sitting at the back of cattle-class is never pleasant. However, new information has just emerged about British Airways’ A320neo aircraft which might make you even more uncomfortable.
As The Sun reported on Tuesday, “A new report has found, due to the addition of more seats on the Airbus A320neo, the aircraft could be too heavy at the back with passengers.”
This problem affects both British Airways and German airline Lufthansa (who have both purchased the refitted A320neos in recent years), leaving the two carriers no choice but to make the back two rows of these jets unavailable for purchase.
As travel website Head for Points revealed on Monday, British Airways and Lufthansa had managed to keep this information quiet for about two months, after concerns were raised in a July European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) report.
The report detailed how “the toilet was removed from the back of [these jets] to fit in an additional row of seats, and replaced with micro-toilets built into the back wall of the galley,” as well as how “the seats behind the emergency exit door were replaced with ‘no recline’ ultra-thin Recaro seats to allow a second additional extra row of seats to be fitted in.”
Unfortunately for the space and money maximising ambitions of the aircraft designers, not only have duty free sales dropped “because there [is now] no space in galley for the trolley” but computer testing has revealed this centre-of-gravity shift could be “a problem” in the case of an aborted landing “when the nose of the aircraft needs to be raised quickly,” (Head for Points).
“To summarise a major engineering problem in one line, this has caused a problem. There is now too much weight at the very back of the aircraft.”
While the EASA document stated this flaw was “never encountered during operations,” it was still deemed unsafe, resulting in the forced reduction of seat sales, Head for Points reports.
While there were almost 50 airlines flying the A320neo when this issue was identified, the presence of Club Europe causes an additional problem for BA compared to ‘one class’ airlines flying the same aircraft because in Club Europe “the empty middle seat makes it difficult to move weight to the front of the aircraft,” (Head for Points).
“In order to address this, it appears that BA is often having to block the last one or two rows of the aircraft. This is dependent on the number of rows of Club Europe and other factors such as cargo and baggage loading. As well as not allowing passengers to select seats in those rows, cabin crew will also announce that passengers may not move to them after take-off.”
Head for Points also reports that Lufthansa has this problem as well on its “densified” A320neo aircraft, although in their case it only applies to one row (as their business section is smaller than BA’s).
In response to this now public issue, a British Airways spokesperson told The Sun, “Like all airlines around the world, we work closely with regulators to ensure the safety of our fleet and fully comply with all recommendations.”
Lufthansa likewise confirmed in a statement: “Lufthansa will block the last row of seats on all of its 20 A320neo aircraft. As of 12 September, row 32 will therefore no longer be assigned to passengers – not even to staff travelling with ID tickets.”
So even though sitting at the back of the plane may get you better service (the theory being flight attendants are more likely to slip you extra food on the sly, as the rest of the cabin can’t see), if you’re travelling around Europe on an A320neo you’ll have to give this strategy a miss – for now.

Truth be told, winter isn't everyone's favourite season. To combat winter's harshest, we often find ourselves stacking on layer upon layer which, oftentimes becomes rather annoying, especially when your coming and going. It is difficult, however, to find a jacket that will keep you warm enough and y...

We’d all like Lebron James’ billion-dollar rig, but the reality is often a lot more sloppy. And – much as it is possible to dress up a dad bod – its far more satisfying to actually lose the kilos.
This is where most men will ‘turn’ Keto or Paleo, swear off carbs, trade their wine for kombucha and swap their beer for Berocca.
Problem is, no matter how many short term changes you make, if you revert back to your doughnut-eating ways, your sloppy rig will return with a vengeance and this time you’ll be too demoralised to shed it again.
Enter: The Satiating Diet, a regime (some) scientists say helps you burn fast faster than keto, and which is more conservatively known for its ability to help people “manage weight and good health without going to extremes” (Scientific American).
It’s also – if the 3,220 Instagram posts (and counting) to its name are anything to go by – a small but growing phenomenon.
Touted as the carb-lover’s alternative to Lebron James’ Keto Diet, and the willpower-slacker’s alternative to the various calorie-restrictive diets there are out there, The Satiating Diet promises to help you lose weight without giving up your morning sourdough.
As Scientific American puts it, the problem with both calorie-restricted diets and with low carb diets is that they are both difficult to follow in the long term, often exacerbating hunger and obsessive thoughts about food, and can even leaving you at a greater risk of over-eating due to negative emotions and stress.
“These complicate the bodily mechanisms that control appetite and partly explain why most people regain the weight in the long term.”
“The challenge for researchers,” Scientific American says, “Has been to find a strategy that is not restrictive and that can reduce feelings of hunger and improve eating habits and overall health without causing some of these negative side effects.”
Many believe The Satiating Diet – a diet constructed from healthy foods that create feelings of fullness and satisfaction – may be the answer.
“Nutrition researchers have discovered many such foods, which improve appetite control and decrease food intake, conditions necessary for sustained weight loss,” (Scientific American).
What to eat on the satiating diet
Like going to Spain but without eating dessert, The Satiating Diet includes protein-rich foods like meat and fish, high fibre foods like whole grains and – of course – plenty of fruit and vegetables. It also promotes a balanced consumption of healthy fats, such as the polyunsaturated fats found in avocados, and permits dairy products such as yogurt (for more examples of satiating foods, check out Healthline).
What not to eat on the satiating diet
Refined carbohydrates, foods high in sugar, excessive quantities of alcohol.
Why try it?
As reported by American Scientist, The Satiating Diet is special because the foods you eat on it work together to decrease hunger, reduce body fat, lower blood sugar, improve blood pressure and increase metabolism.
Will it really help you burn more calories than Lebron?
Though health website Body & Soul claims, “this new diet [may] burn fat faster than keto” and some studies appear to support this claim, the jury is still out, with qualified nutritionists touting its potential but still admitting its overall effectiveness (compared to stricter low carb diets) requires further examination.
Essentially, from what we can see, The Keto Diet can help you lose weight more quickly, but The Satiating Diet can help more people burn more calories, and thus get more shredded, in the long term, because it is easier to maintain.

Jon Hamm has hit the red carpet to his latest movie premiere ‘Between Two Ferns: The Movie’ which is a feature-length version of the Zach Galifianakis web series of the same name. Hamm is one of the many celebrities to appear in the Netflix film which also features Keanu Reeves, Matthew McConaughey and Peter Dinklage.
While the movie seems to be a hit with the critics Hamm’s suit has not done the same with us, the off-the-peg suit is ill-fitting on the 6’1″ actor and appears too long in his arms while too short on his body. Most men worry about just the jacket fitting their form but the pants are just as important as Hamm proves in this outfit. Clearly Hamm was ill-prepared for the event and just had to make do with whatever was available at the time.
The actor who as TVs Don Draper was always seen sporting tailor-made suits that could not be faulted. He did get one thing right with a cream suit paired with a blue & white shirt. Cream suits are few and far between but more men should feel comfortable pulling one-off if you’ve got the right skin tone anyway.
Standing out amongst it all though was the bottom of his pants, which weren’t hemmed. It is a classic style mistake made by not only regular men but celebrities as well and a mistake for which there is no excuse. Trousers should break just over the shoe and is the best way to determine a man’s ability to dress well.
Hopefully next time Hamm gets some more time to bring his best suit to the carpet.

Let’s be real: most of us dread the last rep of a heavy set almost as much as we dread getting stuck talking to that colleague who “wants to start a podcast.”But as Nate Robinson’s latest workout, posted to Instagram at the start of September, shows, that fear may be entirely misplaced. In fact, if you start working out like a professional, you might start looking forward to those last-rep shakes with the same enthusiasm that you hope to see your commute-crush.While we’ve already written about few of his past insane workouts (which show you how to break out of your trite old bicep curl, bench, dip routine) today we’re going to offer you a different, as they say in corporate-speak, “takeaway” from old mate Robinson’s gym sessions: how to work out like a pro.https://www.instagram.com/p/B16xCYVBasW/So, what’s the difference between an amateur and a professional workout? Not habits, not personal trainers and – with the recent prominence of Lebron James’ Keto Regime – not even diet. No, as Nate Robinson’s above workout demonstrates, the key to training like a pro is mindset. Before you yawn; hang on. This is no cliché. Much as it would make our lives easier, we’re not going to palm you off with platitudes about swinging your kettlebells with a purpose. We’re talking about developing a winning mindset that will see you panel beating the gym with a medicine ball and flaying the ground dead with a battle rope. How? By working out with the intention of shredding your mind as well as your body. Or, as one commenter on Nate Robinson’s post puts it, by “never cheat[ing] the grind.”
“Size doesn’t matter but size of heart does! Keep up the work bro!”
This leads into a broader conversation around our modern attitude towards physical pursuits, which many prominent figures in the manosphere say leaves a lot to be desired.

A much-discussed podcast between Joe Rogan and David Goggins, for instance, goes deep into this, with Goggins (a navy seal turned endurance athlete) explaining how amateur athletes tend to leave more on the table than a celiac at an Italian buffet.Talking to podcast host Joe Rogan about a marathon he once ran, Goggins explains how, if you have the mentality of a true athlete, you should struggle to turn it off: “I (only) signed up… because it was the first Las Vegas marathon running down the strip of Las Vegas,” he said.Having badly injured himself running 100 miles three weeks previously, the plan was to walk the 26.2 miles with his mum.“I tried to run the day before but I [sic] can’t even run down the block, so I drove down there with my mum and said, ‘Ok I’m going to walk it with you.’ I told my ex-wife, ‘You can go ahead and take off, do your thing; run your race, I’m going to walk with my mum.'”This attitude didn’t last.
“That gun went off and something f**ken happened. I took off like a jackrabbit and I was like, ‘What the hell?'”
“I was thinking, ‘I just ran 100 miles, like, 3 weeks ago. I was peeing blood. My body’s [sic] broke, my feet and my tendons are broken. But I kept running further and further and I got to the 10 pole and thought, ‘Shit, I’m on the Boston marathon time (3/10/59).'”
“Then I was like, hang on a second; I started using all this external shit for motivation and I go, ‘Ok, who can go out here and run 100 miles with no training and then – at the most broken I’ve ever been in my life – go and run a marathon. Who could do that?'”
“I kept feeding myself,” Goggins continued, “And I’m about 30 seconds off the pace and I was like, ‘Hang on man; you’re Goggins, you can do this shit man.’ Before I knew it I did a 3:08 and I was like WTF, ‘What have I been leaving on the table?'”
“We’re leaving so much on the table for pain… Cut the bullsh*t; you’re limiting yourself. You gotta get out there and be like, ‘Oh yeah this hurts. This hurts bad. I don’t think this is smart. But then your body adjusts.”
Before you ask if this is dangerous advice, Goggins pre-empts your concern: “Take it with a grain of salt. Those questions are from people that wanna quit. Don’t go out there and run through a brick wall as many times as you can. I’m not saying be me – I’m saying; learn the mind is powerful.”In other words: you can theorise all you want, but nothing will stand in for hard work. And for the love of fitness: don’t be the self-diagnosed celiac at the buffet.

John Waters once said “If you go home with somebody and they don’t have books, don’t f*** them” and it was as true then as it is now. Even in an age where we read everything off the devices in our hands, people use books as a gauge of who you are. A girl is always going to be more impressed by a book in your apartment than the website you want her to read on your phone.
Books symbolise an intellectual and sophisticated person and these style books will help you dress the part too. Men’s style books will help you avoid all of those avoidable mens fashion fails like white socks with black shoes and neverwear items like cargo pants and crocs. You may think you know what to avoid but guaranteed there are some mistakes you let slip in.
More importantly though, they will make you a master on the fashion rules like how to wear a suit and how to dress for the occasion. Rules are made to be broken though, for instance did you know that sneakers are no longer just for the gym? Even pairing black and navy is no longer taboo. But you can’t break the rules until you know them inside and out.
There is always a temptation to buy a nice photography book, it’s hard to beat images of the beach or cities on your coffee table. But books should be more than just pictures on your table, they should be conversation pieces. What better way to spark a conversation than men’s style plus it will impress whoever you have over.
If you want to be a stylish man you need these books that offer everything from style icons, to suits, etiquette and accessories. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be the most stylish man on the block and after reading these you just may be.
Style & Fashion Books FAQ
Absolutely. Aside from providing you didactic guides on how to look your best, your style book will do double duty as a coffee table-worthy decoration. Style books can be about a wide range of topics, from fashion and style, to grooming and general lifestyle. In choosing, pick one that genuinely interests you the most. Depending on factors like cover, paper quality, you can spend between $10 to $30 dollars for a fashion book. Some style books can be more expensive. Can I use my style books as coffee books?

As luxury-seeking travellers celebrate the news that Qatar Airways is assigning new Qsuite-carrying jets to more Aussie capital cities, those who live in (or want to visit) Melbourne or Brisbane might have to stay their hands; for the time being, these two major cities are set to miss out.
This comes after Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker told Aviation Analyst last week; “We’re going to start A350-1000 XWB flights [which carry Qatar’s new Qsuites] to the Australian cities of Perth and Adelaide,” a move which comes off the back of Qatar Airlines’ existing plans to bring the A350-1000 and its lusted-after business class offering onto the Doha-Sydney-Canberra route, which is set to happen from the 16th of November 2019.
However, unfortunately for Qsuite enthusiasts looking to travel between Doha and Melbourne or Doha and Brisbane, there has been no mention of an A350-1000 rollout to either of these cities so far. So if you want that sliding door privacy, sumptuous 21.5 inch HD TV and super fast wifi, you’ll have to fly from Doha to a major Australian city that doesn’t have ‘hip’ laneways or ‘hectic’ nightclubs.
As for the timeframe on the Doha to Perth and Doha to Adelaide A350-1000 implementation, Qatar CEO Akbar Baker was unable to provide details, only telling Aviation Analyst, “We’re still collecting data.”
In terms of implications, as Points from the Pacific points out, this upgrade in aircraft type will likely mean the withdrawal of the A380 from the Perth service.
“I think ultimately the A350-1000 would be much better suited for that route and the A380 could go back to a more premium route where First would be utilised more often.”

Odell Beckham Jnr has the cash and he certainly has the style but apparently even he has limits, and apparently a $2 million watch is that limit. The NFL receiver has revealed in a post-game interview after the Browns took down the New York Jets that he had gone off the expensive Richard Mille watches that he has been caught sporting in the past.
However, OBJ has not opted for a similiary expensive watch brand instead telling US reporters that a cheaper Swedish brand was his new preferred watch of choice.
“I think [Swedish brand] Daniel Wellington might be a better watch than these, a little classier, not as flashy as this one. I’m just blessed.”
The receiver shocked every watch aficionado yesterday when it appeared he was wearing an ultra-rare Richard Mille watch on the field in his pre-game warmup for the Browns Vs. New York Jets game. But Watch Anish took to Instagram a few hours later to call the player out on his fake Richard Mille RM 56-02 Tourbillion Sapphire watch.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B2gPfRmAIhF/
“@obj wears a FAKE Richard Mille RM56-01 Sapphire (except his is made of plastic) during the warm ups vs New York Jets last night”
This was the second watch of Mille that Beckham Jnr has worn for the Browns after in the opening match against The Titans Beckham wore a $425,000 Richard Mille. Watch fans will be eyeing off the player’s wrist when he fronts up for the Browns game against the Rams on Sunday night.
Maybe OBJ is considering being a Daniel Wellington ambassador once his NFL career is over, as the brand is infamous for recruiting Instagram influencers to showcase their pieces.

Tom Hiddleston rocks up to the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York ahead of his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in a triple blue number from Ralph Lauren. The triple-threat Navy Blue suit is straight off the runway and isn’t even available to the public until next year.
Hiddleston appeared on the show to promote his Broadway debut in Betrayal, which previously had a sold-out run on London’s West End and kept it on into the evening where he was spotted at the American Theatre Wing Gala. No stranger to Ralph Lauren, Hiddleston can often be seen on the red carpet wearing the latest looks from the design house.
The Spring 2020 campaign from Ralph Lauren is all about combining the same colours, with another example in the collection being a triple bone-coloured suit. The peated lapel suit is worn with a half-Windsor knot. It is unlikely Hiddleston will wear that any time soon as the famously ginger actor often favours blue as his suit colour of choice. However, these suits don’t come cheap, with Ralph Lauren Purple Label suits retailing around $5000. Better start saving.
Blue is a favourite of many famous redheads including Hiddlestone’s fellow countryman Prince Harry. The actor last stepped out in a Ralph Lauren midnight blue suit at the premiere of his Broadway show where he paired a blue suit with a coordinated tie and classic black oxfords.
