The obstacle course that’s featured on the popular reality show Ninja Warrior may end up in the Olympics…
We’ve all watched Ninja Warrior and thought about how much we’d love to attempt the insane obstacle course, even though there’s no way we’d be able to conquer it the same way the elite athletes that appear on the show do.
For this reason, as well as the fact that it’s just satisfying to watch ultra-fit people make their way across the Ninja Warrior course, the reality series is extremely enjoyable and popular. But who would have ever thought Ninja Warrior would ever become an Olympic sport?!
Yes, you read that correctly. According to Variety, the Tokyo Broadcasting System Television (TBS) announced that their signature Ninja Warrior (which is actually called ‘Sasuke’; ‘Ninja Warrior’ is the name of the US & Australian versions of the show) obstacle course may inspire a new event at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Currently, the plan is for the Sasuke/Ninja Warrior obstacle course to become a part of the existing Olympic sport, the modern pentathlon, which currently consists of fencing, freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping, pistol shooting and cross country running.

In fact, the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) is considering replacing the modern pentathlon’s horseback discipline with the Sasuke obstacle course once the 2024 Paris Olympics have finished.
Ian Adamson, the president of he Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO), said in a statement:
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with TBS and the UIPM on the [modern pentathlon’s] new fifth discipline. Obstacles have a long history in pentathlon, and introducing a new discipline that is practised and watched by millions of people in over 160 countries in the form of Sasuke shows has the potential to widen the audience for all stakeholders and enhance the appeal of the sport on the Olympic program.”
Ian Adamson, FISO President
To anyone who’s ever appeared on Ninja Warrior or plans to try out for the show, maybe you should now consider becoming an Olympic athlete…

Simply put, Rolex is the world’s most valuable and important watch brand. But how much do their watches actually cost?
Since its founding in London over 100 years ago, Rolex has cemented itself as one of the most valuable brands in the world, with multi-billion-dollar turnovers every year. Their watches remain some of the most iconic and desirable timepieces on the planet.
While Rolex isn’t the most expensive luxury watch brand out there – in fact, their prices sit somewhere in the middle of the market, with other brands such as Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe having far higher average prices – no other brand has as much cultural capital or cut-through. ‘Rolex’ is a byword for success.
Chief among the factors that have caused its value and the desirability of its watches is the fact Rolex watches are released in limited numbers, so getting your hands on one isn’t always as simple as just walking into a Rolex boutique, trying one on and walking away with it. It just doesn’t work that way.
If you want to get one from a Rolex authorised dealer (AD), you’ll have to put yourself on a waiting list. Depending on the model you’re after and the dealer’s ability to get one from Rolex, you could be waiting several years before your new timepiece makes its way to your wrist. There is also no guarantee you will actually get the model you want, as Rolex is known to stop making particular models without giving any real warning.
WATCH our guide to the most expensive Rolex watches of all time below.
The key to getting your hands on desirable Rolex watches is building up a relationship (i.e. purchase history) with an AD. The more watches you buy, the more likely you’ll be offered the chance to buy popular models, such as Daytonas or Submariners.
If you want to get your hands on one sooner, or you’re after a particularly exclusive model, a vintage one or one that was only released in extremely limited numbers, you’ll have to turn to an aftermarket platform such as Bob’s Watches or Chrono24 – although you’re likely to pay a hefty premium without benefitting from a warranty.
That’s why we’ve put together a list of all the official retail prices for the best and coolest Rolex watches in 2022 so you know what you can expect to pay if you want to own one right now, as well as explanations for the popular nicknames top models have been given by Rolex fans.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual ‘Tiffany’

Reference Number: 126000-0006
Case Size: 36mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$8,150
Let’s kick things off with the Oyster Perpetual, Rolex’s entry-level model. Available in a wide variety of case sizes, dial finishes and materials, it’s a no-nonsense time-only piece that is as close to ‘affordable’ as a Rolex gets.
Naturally, prices vary dramatically depending on the variant, so we’ve singled out the popular 36mm ‘Tiffany’ as a yardstick. Why ‘Tiffany’? Well, it’s because of its turquoise lacquer dial, which resembles Tiffany & Co.’s signature blue. Tiffany dial Oyster Perpetuals are some of the most in-demand examples of Rolex’s entry-level watch.
Rolex Datejust

Reference Number: 126300-0022
Case Size: 41mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Jubilee
Price: AU$11,400
Next up we have the Datejust, which is similar to the Oyster Perpetual but includes a date window, visible through a magnifying ‘Cyclops’ lens. The Datejust is one of the most versatile watches in Rolex’s catalogue and continues to be a popular choice among collectors.
Also like the Oyster Perpetual, the Datejust comes in many different sizes, case materials and so on. This example is made from Oystersteel (what Rolex calls their proprietary stainless steel alloy), is mounted on a Jubilee bracelet (one of a few signature Rolex bracelet designs) and features a mint green ‘fluted’ dial, a new design introduced in 2022.
Rolex Submariner ‘No Date’

Reference Number: 124060-0001
Case Size: 41mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$12,600
The Rolex Submariner is arguably the most recognisable watch on the planet. First introduced in 1954, it was the first watch to be waterproof up to 100m, and while few professional divers wear Submariners on the job these days, it remains one of the most popular luxury dive watches on the market.
While most Submariners Rolex makes today feature date windows, this one doesn’t, much like the original model. It’s the most ‘pure’ Submariner – and also the cheapest, at least at retail. Because the Submariner is one of Rolex’s most popular models, waiting lists for the watch are exceptionally long.
Rolex Submariner Date ‘Starbucks’

Reference Number: 126610LV-0002
Case Size: 41mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$14,950
Now we start getting into the weird nicknames – hold tight, there’s a bunch of them for different Rolex models. This Submariner with a black dial and green ceramic bezel is called the ‘Starbucks’, as the colour combination resembles those used by the multinational coffee chain.
It’s also perhaps inspired by the many drink-related nicknames other popular Rolexes have, which were all inspired by the GMT-Master ‘Pepsi’. On that note…
Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Pepsi’

Reference Number: 126710BLRO-0002
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$14,800
The Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Pepsi’ is one of the most coveted Rolex models – even people who don’t know anything about watches have heard of the ‘Pepsi’. The nickname comes from its red and blue bezel. These days, the GMT-Master II comes in a number of different bezel colour combinations, but red and blue is the OG colourway.
It’s a GMT watch, which means it can tell the time in multiple time zones – a very practical complication, especially if you travel frequently. Indeed, the watch was originally designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways for use by their pilots and navigators back in 1954.
Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Batman’

Reference Number: 126710BLNR-0002
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Jubilee
Price: AU$15,100
A blue and black bezel? It can only be the Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Batman’, with the caped crusader’s outfit the inspiration for this fun nickname. After the Pepsi, the Batman is probably the next most popular GMT-Master II variant and is similarly hard to get your hands on.
This example is mounted on a Jubille instead of an Oyster bracelet. As of 2021, you can have the Pepsi or the Batman on either Oyster or Jubilee bracelets, although the latter is more expensive (a trend that is only amplified on the aftermarket).
Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Sprite’

Reference Number: 126720VTNR-0001
Case Size: 41mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$15,500
Unveiled this year at Watches & Wonders Geneva and also called the ‘Destro’, the Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Sprite’ is one of the most unusual and out-there watches Rolex has released in years. It’s a left-handed watch (i.e. designed for those who wear their watch on their right hand) but unlike most leftie watches, the date window and the crown are mounted at 9 o’clock instead of 3 o’clock.
If that wasn’t unusual enough, the Sprite/Destro also features a brand-new and totally exclusive bezel colour combination, black and green. While it’s designed for lefties, people of all sorts of handedness have been snapping these up, and demand is fierce.
Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Root Beer’

Reference Number: 126711CHNR-0002
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Oystersteel and Everose
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$21,450
Completing our roundup of desirable GMT-Master II models is the ‘Root Beer’. It takes its ‘Root Beer’ nickname from the Rolex GMT-Master I ref. 16753, which featured a brown and cream-coloured dial, which this current version mimics with its two-tone steel and rose gold case (Rolex calls their rose gold ‘Everose’).
Naturally, because it’s partly made of gold, expect to pay a premium over pure stainless steel examples – although the price delta between two-tone and steel models narrows on the aftermarket.
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Reference Number: 116500LN-0001
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$20,400
Ahh, the Daytona. Rolex’s famous chronograph is inarguably the brand’s most sought-after model and waiting lists for stainless steel examples like this one are as much as 5 years long. This one’s called the ‘Panda’ thanks to its white and black look.
As it happens, Paul Newman’s personal Rolex Daytona holds the record for the most expensive Rolex and third most expensive watch ever, having sold at auction back in 2017 for a whopping US$17.75 million.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Platinum

Reference Number: 116506-0001
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Platinum
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$110,000
The Daytona is also one of only a handful of watches Rolex produces in platinum, and generally speaking, the platinum Daytona is the most expensive watch in Rolex’s catalogue (there are some off-catalogue watches that are more expensive, but you didn’t hear that from us…)
Rolex doesn’t offer a list price for the platinum Daytona – it varies depending on the platinum spot price, which is very volatile – but expect to pay around $110,000 for one at retail. Fun fact: Rolex reserves ice blue dials for its platinum models, so if you ever see a Rolex with an ice blue dial, that’s how you know it’s platinum.
Rolex Day-Date ‘President’

Reference Number: 228238-0003
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Yellow Gold
Bracelet: President
Price: AU$52,850
No other watch screams ‘old money’ quite like the classic Rolex Day-Date ‘President’. The nickname specifically refers to the yellow gold version of this watch on a ‘President’ bracelet and refers to the fact that every US President from LBJ to Clinton wore one of these bad boys while in office.
As the name implies, it features a day and a date window, the former spelling out the day of the week in full. The Day-Date is only ever made in precious metals (primarily gold) and is available in 16 different languages.
Rolex Explorer I ‘Two Tone’

Reference Number: 124273-0001
Case Size: 36mm
Material: Oystersteel and Yellow Gold
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$15,700
One of Rolex’s most underrated watches, 2021 saw the time-honoured Explorer I crafted from two-tone steel and yellow gold for the very first time. Generally speaking, two-tone watches are easier to get your hands on than pure stainless steel or pure gold watches, but this popular Explorer I might. bethe exception to that rule.
The 2021 update to the watch brought the case size down to 36mm, which pays homage to the original model launched in 1953 following Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s groundbreaking Mount Everest ascent.
Rolex Explorer II ‘Polar’

Reference Number: 226570-0001
Case Size: 42mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$13,300
Often mistaken for a GMT-Master II, the Rolex Explorer II looks nothing like the Explorer I. It’s a GMT watch like the GMT-Master II, but is slightly larger at 42mm and features a fixed stainless steel bezel as opposed to the ceramic-topped directional bezel of its more famous sibling.
It also features a stark white dial (hence ‘Polar’) although it’s also available with a black dial if the white look is too much for you.
Rolex Yacht-Master ‘Messi’

Reference Number: 126655-0002
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Everose Gold
Bracelet: Oysterflex
Price: AU$39,450
At first glance, the Yacht-Master is very similar to the Submariner, and that’s because it is. The main difference is that it has a matte black Cerachrom bezel with raised numerals and graduations as opposed to the Submariner’s gloss bezel, and it’s slightly less water-resistant with only a 100m rating.
It’s also available in a wide variety of case sizes/materials/etc. and is one of the few models that can be optioned with Rolex’s supremely comfortable silicon ‘Oysterflex’ strap. World-famous Argentine football player Lionel Messi owns one of these in Everose, hence the nickname.
Rolex Yacht-Master II

Reference Number: 116680-0002
Case Size: 44mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$26,300
The Yacht-Master II is perhaps Rolex’s most misunderstood watch. Not only is it one of the biggest Rolexes currently in production at a hefty 44mm, but it also features a rather unusual complication: a regatta timer.
A regatta timer is used to count down the amount of time remaining before yachts competing in a race are allowed to cross the start line – a highly specialised and complex complication. Few Yacht-Master II owners use their watch for its intended purchase. But it’s pretty cool, right?
Rolex Sea-Dweller

Reference Number: 126600-0002
Case Size: 43mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$18,250
If the Submariner’s 300m of water resistance isn’t enough for you, then why not try out its bigger brother: the chunky Rolex Sea-Dweller, which has 1,220m of water resistance. A Sea-Dweller is easily distinguished from a Submariner thanks to its size, its helium release valve at 9 o’clock and the red text on its dial.
Sea-Dwellers are somewhat easier to acquire at retail than Submariners despite looking virtually identical, but they’re not for everyone – you need pretty big wrists to pull one off. They’re also more expensive, which deters many prospective buyers.
Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea D-Blue ‘James Cameron’

Reference Number: 136660-0003
Case Size: 44mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$20,000
But what if 1,220m isn’t good enough? Meet Rolex’s biggest and most capable dive watch: the Sea-Dweller Deepsea, which is rated at 3,900m. It too is easily distinguished from other Rolexes thanks to its thick rehaut and date window sans Cyclops lens.
This reference’s ‘D-Blue’ dial commemorates movie director and aquanaut James Cameron’s record-breaking 2012 solo descent to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the Earth’s ocean, in the Deepsea Challenger submersible.
Rolex Sky-Dweller Yellow Gold

Reference Number: 326238-0009
Case Size: 42mm
Material: Yellow Gold
Bracelet: Oysterflex
Price: AU$56,450
The Sky-Dweller is Rolex’s youngest model, having only hit the market in 2012, and is one of the brand’s largest and most unique watches. It’s Rolex’s first and only annual calendar timepiece – which also happens to feature dual time zones – and is an interesting hybrid between a dress watch and a tool watch. It’s also a rather hard Rolex to acquire, especially this reference with an Oysterflex strap.
A GMT watch like the famous GMT-Master, the Sky-Dweller has a truly unique approach to telling time that’s quite unlike any other watch. The dial of the Sky-Dweller indicates the local time and date via the centre hands and 3 o’clock date window – so far, so normal – but also indicates the month by the small rectangular windows next to the hour markers, which change from white to red. The 24-hour disc in the middle of the dial displays a second time zone, intended to be your home time.
Rolex Air-King

Reference Number: 126900-0001
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$10,350
From the hyped to the overlooked: the Rolex Air-King is an unassuming time-only piece that used to be one of the easiest Rolexes to get at retail – but thanks to a 2022 update, the spotlight’s been shone on the Air-King again.
The new Air-King now features a crown guard and the five-minute marker now read ’05’ instead of simply ‘5’, giving the watch a more symmetrical and consistent aesthetic.
Rolex Milgauss

Reference Number: 116400GV-0002
Case Size: 40mm
Material: Oystersteel
Bracelet: Oyster
Price: AU$12,900
Finally, we end our list with Rolex’s most obscure model: the Milgauss. So named because it’s capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gausses, it was the first watch of its kind with such anti-magnetic properties.
The Milgauss stands out in Rolex’s range thanks to its tinted green sapphire crystal – a rather unusual feature – as well as its cool lightning bolt-shaped seconds hand. These days, most watches feature anti-magnetic shielding, but few are as cool as the Milgauss.
Rolex Price FAQ
How much is a Rolex?
A Rolex watch starts from about US$6,000 / AU$8,000.
How to tell if a Rolex is real?
Fake watches are getting very good and closer to the real thing these days. A tell-tale sign a Rolex is fake is if its second-hand stops at each second marker instead of sweeping smoothly (which indicates a quartz movement instead of an automatic movement – Rolex don't make quartz watches anymore). It's our recommendation that if you're looking at buying a watch second-hand then buy it from a reputable dealer.
Why is Rolex so expensive?
In short, we would say two things: brand prestige, and scarcity – Rolex only releases a limited amount of their most popular models.

Orlando Bloom may not make such a regular appearance on the big screen these days, but he’s clearly been putting his time off to good use and hitting the gym.
The English actor, best known for his roles as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit prequel series, as well as Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, hasn’t ever exactly been out of shape, but judging by a recent Instagram video, the man has got himself absolutely jacked.
Captioning his workout video, Orlando says he “broke [his] back when he was 19 and they said [he’d] never walk again.” Clearly, he used that bombshell claim as motivation to ensure he would prove his doctors wrong.
Orlando demonstrates three exercises in his Instagram video: an EZ bar bicep curl; using an ab roller to torch his core muscles and a cable rear delt fly to target and strengthen his posterior muscles. Understandably, Orlando’s video has received hundreds of comments, including those from English rugby player Danny Cipriani saying “Go on lad!!” while some others have tagged Orlando’s wife, US pop singer Katy Perry, waiting for her to comment on her husband’s progress.
If you want to attempt Orlando Bloom’s workout – and you really should, because it’s pretty simple – here’s what you need to do.
EZ Bar Bicep Curl: Orlando has chosen to use an EZ bar for his bicep curls, as opposed to a straight barbell. Using an EZ bar places less stress on the wrists and helps to isolate both the biceps and triceps.
RELATED: Best Bicep Workouts For Men 2022
To start, add some plate weights onto the bar and grab the handles using an underhand grip. Stand shoulder-width apart and slowly curl the bar upwards, ensuring you keep your elbows close to your sides. You can choose to curl the bar a full 180-degrees, or you could try implementing the 90-degree technique put forward by Dr Joel Seedman.
Repeat for 10 – 12 reps for 3 – 4 sets.
Ab Roller: The ab roller is an incredibly affordable piece of equipment that you can use practically anywhere. It’s by no means an easy exercise to perform, but it is one that will have your abs begging for you to stop.
RELATED: Best Ab Workouts
To use an ab roller correctly, make sure you don’t attempt to roll out as far as possible if you’ve never used one before. To set up, kneel on the ground and grab the ab roller handles with an overhand grip. Engage both your glutes and your abs, place a slight bend in your elbow, and begin rolling the ab roller out in front of you. Lower yourself as far as is comfortable, because remember, you have to engage your core muscles to help return the ab roller to the starting position.
Cable Rear Delt Fly: The cable rear delt fly can also be called a reverse cable fly. Either way, it serves to strengthen and build the rear section of the deltoid muscle in the shoulders, but also benefits the front and middle sections of the deltoid, plus a range of other upper body muscles.
RELATED: Best Shoulder Exercises
To perform, stand in-between a pair of cables with feet shoulder-width apart. Set the pulleys of the cables to just above head height and remove any handle attachments. Take hold of the left pulley with your right hand and the right with your left hand, so that your arms are crossed.
Take a step back to engage some tension in the cables and, keeping your core tight and your gaze fixed in front of you, bring your arms back towards you. Try and keep your arms as straight as possible throughout the exercise, and keep pulling back until you feel a pinch in your shoulder blades. Slowly return your arms to their starting position to complete one rep.
Perform the cable rear delt fly for 10 reps and 3 – 4 sets.
Orlando Bloom’s upper body workout is a relatively simple one, yet one that can also be incredibly effective if performed correctly.

The NBA has legions of fans around the world. Not only is it one of the major professional sports based in the USA and Canada, it’s the biggest and most well-known men’s basketball league in the world. But have you ever wondered what it is that makes it so popular? We now have the answer, thanks to Twitter.
The official NBA UK Twitter account recently posed the question, “What made you fall in love with the NBA?” to its one hundred thousand followers. While the American Twitter account hasn’t asked the question, the very fact the UK account has been the one to post only highlights the global nature of the basketball league.
— Lᴜᴋᴇ Dɪᴇᴜᴅᴏɴɴᴇ́ (@LukeDieudonne11) June 27, 2022
The majority of responses are in the form of images of fans’ favourite players, or at least, iconic players that sparked their love interest with the NBA. Former professional player Allen Iverson, for example, is mentioned by one user. Iverson is best-known for the fact he’s relatively short in comparison to his peers, at only 6 feet in height, yet he is often regarded as one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history.
Other legendary players mentioned include Michael Jordan (unsurprisingly), LeBron James and Steph Curry (who is claimed to be one of the greatest shooters in NBA history). In fact, Iverson and Curry are mentioned several times by various users.

The list of replies also highlight the age difference in fans of the NBA, with some users tweeting pictures of players including Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who played between 1979 – 2000 and 1969-1989, respectively.
Fortunately, not everyone gives their reply in image form, as some are actually able to use words. One user says, “Firstly Rodman, then it was probably Shaq and Iverson when I really got into it. Always had a soft spot for the 76ers because of it.”
While another claims, “Shaq when I started watching in 92. Then became a LeBron fan since his day 1.”
What is perhaps an unfortunate notable absence, is the actual reasons these players kicked off a love affair with the NBA for their fans as it could be all too easy to say ‘because they’re great players.’
Of course, the NBA isn’t strictly a male-orientated sport and to that degree, several women have also given their two cents as to what made them fall in love with the NBA (and perhaps opposed to the WNBA).
Yet again, Michael Jordan is mentioned several times, along with former Golden State Warriors power forward, Chris Webber.
Si Chris Webber, my 1st crushie when I was a kid with tulo sipon.
— Aiza B. Dela Cruz (@DELACRUZaiza) June 27, 2022pic.twitter.com/BGJ6DwWhf7
While it would be fair to say that a large proportion of the current crop of NBA fans have been drawn to the sport thanks to the appeal of some of the biggest names, including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James, the entire tweet thread proves that some fans appreciate the ‘different’ players.
These include Dennis Rodman, who commanded an imposing presence on the court thanks to his changing hair colour and large piercings, and Allen Iverson, who was able to compete with players much taller than him. Clearly some fans appreciate an underdog story.
If you’re an NBA fan, what made you fall in love with it? And if you’ve never seen a game, hopefully this Twitter thread could convince you to give it a go.

A new travel hack is doing the rounds. It involves wearing what looks like a neck brace, in order to get a more comfortable sleep on flights (and not wake up with a crick in your neck).
A cool looking travel hack is doing the rounds. It involves putting an easily packable (i.e. not bulky like a normal, U-shaped neck pillow) scarf with “hidden internal support” and lateral bands which support your head around your neck. The bands support your head on one side (you can move it around to suit your preference, whether you would prefer to rest your head to one side, to the back, or to the front). This new product is called a Trtl pillow.
The product is either organically amazing (and to be fair, it does look pretty cool) or the company has invested in some savvy social media marketing; the Trtl pillow is currently rearing its well-strapped head into explore feeds all over Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, wreathed around the necks of influencers and travellers. Confused? Allow the following video, by TikTok user Gal Ezra, to explain.
In the video, Ezra calls it the “coolest travel gadget you didn’t know you needed.” He says: “When you’re in a car or an airport like I am and you basically start nodding off and your neck gets all messed up… this Trtl pillow you put it like this to your side or in front of you and you stick it on and then when you sleep it just completely supports you.”
“So comfortable. Or you can move it this way and then you don’t have that thing and it’s actually way more comfortable than it looks and I’m so looking forward to using it.”
Though we have no idea if this was a paid endorsement, the brand had chucked him a free pillow, or whether Ezra simply purchased a Trtl pillow of his own accord and genuinely loved it so much he had to share his excitement with his followers, it’s quite the endorsement. And he’s not the only one. “Style inspo” TikTok user, @tiffany.palmer also has given fans a glowing review of the product, after a recent trip to Greece.

While the product, though scary in that it looks like a neck brace, seems harmless enough, it shows the risks of viral trends sweeping through TikTok. Not that the risk is necessarily, in this instance, to your health, but – as I can attest from previous experience with other products and brands – it’s easy to be convinced by glowing internet reviews to buy a product, only to find it’s not worth its price tag (not that I know this is the case in this instance, having never tried the Trtl pillow myself).
The Trtl pillow’s website features glowing reviews from the likes of Lonely Planet, Travel + Leisure and Business Insider, including the rather bold claim: “Makes the middle seat feel like first class” (courtesy of Lonely Planet). The Trtl account has 27.6k followers on TikTok at the time of writing, and many TikTok users are making videos spruiking their benefits. The Trtl pillow was ranked the 3rd most best travel pillow in the world by The Sun in 2019, pipped to the post by The Infinity Pillow and The J Pillow.
To our eyes, The Infinity Pillow and The J Pillow look a bit bulkier to travel with than the Trtl pillow, but according to The Sun, are easier to use than the Trtl pillow. The news outlet explained the Trtl pillow as follows: “At the first glance, this pillow looks bizarre and is reminiscent of a neck brace.”
“But once we put it on and adjusted it, the buzz became clear. The pillow offers adjustable support, with height of the support pad customised using two toggles.”
“There’s a wrap around ‘scarf’ that helps to keep it in place.”
The Sun added: “It’s perfect for snoozing upright, but if you want to swap sides, you’ll have to unwrap and rewrap, which is a bit time consuming. And if you’re a leaner, it might not give you much cushioning.”

The Trtl pillow is going for $72.99 a pop, which is a lot more expensive than a regular $12 travel pillow you might buy at the airport. Its advantages are purportedly that its fancy pant fabric makes it comfier than a normal travel pillow, and it definitely seems like less of a pain to carry around (it’s less bulky). If you’re the sort of person who always forgets their neck pillow, it could be a good idea.
Either that, or you could wait for a cheaper imitation to crop up on Amazon…

Kendrick Lamar might be the greatest rapper of all time – but the Pulitzer Prize-winning superstar has come under fire for his latest extravagant (and potentially sacrilegious) accessory.
On Sunday night, the hip-hop legend headlined Britain’s famous Glastonbury Festival, performing in a white tunic with a diamond-encrusted crown of thorns on his head – an obvious allusion to Jesus Christ. Blood even started pouring down his head halfway through the set, although it’s not clear whether this was part of the performance or if the crown had actually made him bleed.
The crown, which was created by esteemed jewellers Tiffany & Co., made its first appearance on the cover of Kendrick’s fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers – but fans have been given a closer look at the crown during the rapper’s recent string of European performances, including his surprise medley at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show and headlining performance at Britain’s famous Glastonbury Festival, HipHopDX explains.
It’s one hell of a flex – but fans have angrily expressed their outrage at K.Dot imitating Christ like this, especially considering the outrageous price of the crown.
While the crown doesn’t have an official price tag, it’s not hard to speculate how much it would have cost. According to Tiffany, this “true masterpiece” is made from titanium, contains over 8,000 diamonds totalling over 137 carats and was crafted by four artisans over a span of 10 months, with a total of 1,300 hours spent setting the thousands of diamonds alone.
According to the Diamond Price Index, the average price per carat for loose diamonds weighing less than 0.5cts is around US$2,200, and 0.51-0.99cts is around US$3,600 – and that’s not even taking quality into account. Tiffany would have used only high-quality diamonds, so they probably paid close to double that per carat.
Then, factor in the man-hours and expertise that went into its creation (titanium is a very challenging material to make jewellery from) as well as its exclusivity and cultural notoriety, and we’re looking at something worth easily over $1 million. Really, it’s a money can’t buy sort of thing.

While some fans appreciate its artistry as well as its overt symbolism, others have come out in force on Tiffany’s Instagram expressing their displeasure about the piece.

“So offensive and messed up. I’m really disappointed in this company. He’s not Jesus,” goes one comment, another adding “the disrespect shadows the craftsmanship of this piece… I’m not even religious and find it offensive.”
Other choice comments include “and I thought Tiffany’s was meant to be classy…”, “beyond poor taste…” and “a masterpiece of what, kitsch?”
For what it’s worth, Kendrick said during his Glastonbury set “I wear this [crown] as a representation so you’ll never forget one of the greatest prophets to ever walk the Earth… we gon’ continue to try our best to walk in his image.” Kendrick is known for his devout Christian faith.

Daniel Ricciardo will executively produce an upcoming Formula 1 television series for Disney’s American streaming service, Hulu.
Daniel Ricciardo, the beloved Australian Formula 1 driver may be taking Jacques Villeneuve’s advice to step away from racing for McLaren more seriously than we might have previously thought, with The Hollywood Reporter reporting that Ricciardo is all set to develop an F1 television series with Hulu.
Details are still scant (the series is only in the early developmental stages), so the ~mystery~ around the project remains high, but here’s what we know so far. The scripted series will focus on the drama of the world’s most popular motorsport. Ricciardo, who has won eight Grand Prix races, will executively produce the series, which is currently untitled.
Hulu is currently searching for a writer to pen the series, which is being helmed by ABC Signature, Lionsgate Television and Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Phoebe Zimmer and Sydney Title.

Sadly no other details about this upcoming F1 series have been announced; common in the F1 entertainment world it seems, as we’ve been waiting for more details about the Brad Pitt-led F1 film from Apple since January.
Executively producing a television show won’t be Ricciardo’s first foray into something other than F1, as Ricciardo also frequently collaborates with St Hugo to produce fine wines and produces his own line of merch.

Although, according to 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, Ricciardo should spend less time on various business ventures and more time playing video games…

Travellers are clogging up airports worldwide once again. But it’s not all sunsets and siracha. There are a lot of irritating aspects of travel you might have forgotten about.
The sun is shining. Skies are booming. Runways are full of skid marks. Though experts still say there are a few more (semi) subdued years to be had (economically speaking) for the sector, travel is well and truly back (notwithstanding the threats of inflation and war). Alongside that, many people, particularly Australians, are this year taking frivolous Europe trips for the first time since 2019. Although that’s great, there are a lot of irritating aspects to travelling which you might have forgotten about. As we’ve discussed previously, romanticising a destination is easily done.
RELATED: Photo Shows Why Australians Shouldn’t Romanticise Overseas Travel Destinations
But though you might have cradled idyllic visions of secret Maltese coves and soothing Swedish retreats in your mind while you’ve been stuck in Australia, getting to those coves and fancy retreats still involves a bit of hassle which is easy to forget about when it’s been a ~moment~ since you scanned a boarding pass.
In honour of those Pain In The Ass things, here’s a list of the worst parts of travelling Europe you’ve probably forgotten about.

Flight Delays
Ah yes, that beautiful moment where you get screwed over at the last minute. Yep: if this happens you can (depending on how bad it is) kiss goodbye to your perfectly planned itinerary of hotel bookings, train ride tickets and restaurant reservations, and say hello to a world of reshuffling. Though some airlines will look after you, and put you up in a hotel (if it’s an overnight delay) others won’t.
Oh and – even if you get looked after – they won’t pay you back for (let alone help you organise) the things you had planned at the other end with other companies (think: a train ticket, a hotel reservation, another flight, etc.). So: if you get a flight delay, just pray it’s only a short one. On the plus side, this test of patience helps you learn things about both yourself and your fellow passengers (such as who will snap first in a frustrating situation).
Flight Cancellations
As thousands of EasyJet customers found out the hard way this summer, airlines – particularly budget ones – can sometimes cancel a bunch of flights and leave you hanging. Whether you’re cynical and you assume this is simply because they crunched the numbers and decided it would be more profitable not to run them, or whether you’re charitable and buy their excuses of COVID-19 layoffs and staff shortages, is up to you. What’s not up for debate is that it is infuriating when this happens to you and even more infuriating when they offer ‘flight credit’ rather than a refund.
Passengers Who Have No Sense Of Personal Space
Ah yes. This one’s a doozy. Bonus (grievance) points if they fall asleep mid-flight and start leaning on you, or if they ‘accidentally on purpose’ hog the arm rest. And god forbid the snorers (no, seriously, god: please forbid them…).
Forgetting Your Neck Pillow
This sucks. And with so many people out of practice travelling, you can bet it’s happening a lot. Fortunately, some aircraft on some airlines (see: the Qantas Dreamliner) have a feature in the headrest (even in economy), which lets you manipulate it, and kind of does the job of a neck pillow. But yeah: if you, like me, have a stash of about four neck pillows at home, and you always end up having to buy a new one on a long haul journey because you forget to bring one of them, this is yet another annoying aspect to the travel experience you have probably forgotten about.
Being Stuck Near People Who Talk Loudly On Public Transport
This might be a personal one, and it might be something that annoys you at home too, but being stuck on, say, a train, with someone who won’t shut up about their trip, is not something you probably envisaged while waiting these last three years to travel. Petty? Yep. True? We think so.
Being Impacted By Other Tourists Who Don’t Respect A Destination

Whether it’s peeing in (or near) the sea, which has been recently outlawed in one Spanish seaside town, or throwing rubbish on the floor, this can put a downer on your trip.

Being Looked At Like A Dumb Tourist
What’s the only thing worse than other dumb tourists? Being assumed to be one yourself! Yeah, this one hurts – especially when it’s true… While you’ve been away you’ll probably have forgotten about what it feels like to stand out like a sore thumb – and look like rich pickings for scam artists etc.
The Outrageous Price Of Train Tickets
They might be good (or, better) for the environment, compared to flights, but how on earth are they able to charge so much? Considering how cheap flights can be, this one really boggles the mind.
The Bad (But Oh So Good) Habits You’ll Pick Up
That 6pm coffee habit you picked up in Spain might feel super cool and help you enjoy your evenings on holiday that little bit more, but good luck keeping it up at home without becoming an insomniac…
Coming Home
After a couple of weeks of sun and sand and Euro holiday bliss, and after not enjoying an extended holiday (perhaps) for the last couple of years, coming home after finally having one might be a bit of a shock. Better get saving for that next trip!

You can go to the gym, eat right, drink plenty of water and get eight hours of sleep at night but, unfortunately, if you’re a single man, you’ll never be as healthy as a man in a relationship… Here’s why.
Looking at our 2022 DMARGE Men’s Matters Study, it’s clear that men think that being in a relationship is challenging. A whopping 63% of men agreed that ‘relationships are hard work’ and a surprisingly large number of men – 48% to be exact – think it’s easier being single than being in a relationship.
However, men who shudder at the thought of monogamy should, perhaps, rethink their stance as being in a relationship is hugely beneficial to men. According to Samantha Jayne, Relationship Expert and Advisor to The Bachelor Australia, men’s health improves vastly when they’re dating someone special.
“Studies have proven that men in healthy relationships are happier, healthier, and live longer. [Plus,] they have better emotional support… because women are better communicators when it comes to talking about their emotions; they are an excellent support system where men can openly talk about their feelings. Often when [male] mates get together the talk is more superficial on topics such as sports, weather and current affairs as opposed to the stresses they are having in life.”
This isn’t merely Samantha’s opinion; research conducted by Harvard Medical School showed married men live longer, have better heart health, have stronger bones, show improved cancer outcomes, are happier, are more resilient against life stresses and are just overall healthier than single men.

Of course, all these benefits only come to fruition in healthy relationships; not toxic ones. Samantha defines a healthy relationship as one “that genuinely feels good” and is full of trust and support. She advises men can ensure their relationship is healthy by taking the following steps.
“… never take each other for granted. Work on all core needs, add variety and adventure to keep the spark alive and ensure your partner feels [like a] significant and important part of your life.”
Samantha Jayne
“[Make sure your partner] is aligned with you and on the same page with values and goals, and [whether] it feels good to be around her. Do you bring out the best in each other? They are the questions to ask yourself.”
And if you’re a single, unlucky-in-love man reading this, thinking ‘gee, I’d love to be in a relationship and reap all the benefits but I just haven’t found the one yet’, get off the apps and try ‘dog baiting’, a Contiki tour or ‘the proximity effect’ instead…
