Forget Comedy, All Pete Davidson Wants Is To Be A Dad
Forget Comedy, All Pete Davidson Wants Is To Be A Dad

Comedian Pete Davidson has revealed it’s his “dream” to be a dad and he’s now preparing for that “chapter” of his life…

Pete Davidson is extremely well known for his comedy chops – and for dating women, like Kate Beckinsale and Ariana Grande, who are ‘out of his league’.

But despite being rather successful, the 28-year-old King of Staten Island star still has one big item to tick off his bucket list.

On a recent episode of Kevin Hart’s Peacock television show, Hart to Heart, Davidson revealed that it’s his “dream” to be a dad.

WATCH: Pete Davidson talks about wanting kids…

“My favourite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. That’s, like, my dream. Yeah, and so, it’s like super corny…”

Pete Davidson

At this point, Hart jumped in and said, “it’s not super corny, it’s the best goddamn thing you can do in life.”

Davidson then went on to say that he’s now “preparing” to be a father one day soon, which might be another reason he left Saturday Night Live earlier this year in May (at the time, Davidson essentially said he was leaving SNL to ‘grow’ his career).

“It would be so fun to dress up a little dude… I’m so excited for, like, that chapter, so like, that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now,” Davidson said.

Perhaps spending time with his current girlfriend, Kim Kardashian’s children has inspired Davidson to want children of his own. Kardashian has four children – North, Chicago, Saint and Psalm – with her ex-husband, Kanye West.

Davidson has been repeatedly pictured out and about with Kardashian’s kids, and allegedly has her and her kid’s initials – K, N, C, S and P – tattooed on his neck; so maybe, if things really are that serious, Davidson and Kardashian might have a kid of their own…? Only time, and probably an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, will tell.

What Is Non-Binary? Meaning, How To Be Respectful, Non-Binary Celebrities & More
What Is Non-Binary? Meaning, How To Be Respectful, Non-Binary Celebrities & More

Non-binary – or enby, for short – is a term that has been in circulation for a few decades but has gained more prominence in recent years, thanks to more conversations, more people identifying as non-binary, and greater acceptance.

Non-binary, as a topic, can be a delicate one, more so because there are still people in our society that don’t understand it or don’t accept it because it deviates from what society deems to be ‘normal’. Unfortunately, the “it’s none of your business” argument continues to fall on deaf ears.

More education is needed, then, and we hope with this article that we can help to inform more people about what it means to be non-binary, how you should interact with someone who identifies as non-binary and ultimately have you walking away understanding it with greater clarity.

What does non-binary mean?

The official definition of non-binary says that a person is non-binary if they don’t fit into the binary genders of male or female. Gender, of course, is different to biological sex, as it relates to characteristics classified as masculine or feminine. A biological man could have what are deemed to be feminine tendencies, for example.

Non-binary is an umbrella term that can have multiple interpretations. There are other terms one can use if they feel they don’t fit into the ‘male’ or ‘female’ gender categories, such as agender, bigender and gender queer.

Some people may say those who identify as non-binary could be transgender, while others may say they’re agender (they identify as having no gender at all). Ultimately, it is completely up to the specific individual who identifies as non-binary, as to how they feel in their own being.

Unfortunately, some members of society believe those who identify as non-binary are just following a ‘fad’ or going through a phase, but this isn’t the case. In fact, the belief and knowing that one doesn’t fit being either male or female, has been around for centuries.

El Styles, an Australian who came out as non-binary in 2022, says they are non-binary gender-fluid, which means the way they express themselves on a daily basis may change. “Sometimes I wake up and feel like I want to express myself (through the way I dress) more masculine, and sometimes I feel more feminine.”

“I guess if you put a Man and a Woman on either end of a sliding scale, my most common resting spot is probably somewhere past the halfway point, closer towards the male side,” they say.

How a non-binary person identifies themselves in regard to gender, will be separate from how they identify their sexuality.

How to know if you’re non-binary?

Knowing if you’re non-binary, gender-fluid or any other gender that deviates from the traditional definitions of masculine or feminine, isn’t always easy. And it can be even harder to understand any feelings you might have, and to then act upon and accept them.

El has shared their story of coming out as non-binary, saying, “I’d never felt comfortable being called a girl/woman/feminine, ever since I can remember. The moment I knew it was something I needed to explore, was when it started feeling like an insult when someone would refer to me as a girl or a woman, it didn’t fit me and actually made me quite angry which was interesting.”

“Mel (El’s wife) noticed in Jan 2022 that it was causing problems for me and my mental health, I was definitely feeling depressed and confused, I just wasn’t my usual happy self.”

“I went to see my GP to get a referral to see a psychologist to discuss my gender because I really didn’t know what was going on. I remember breaking down crying at the doctor’s feeling so ashamed like there was something really wrong with me, because the gender assigned to me at birth, didn’t fit with how I felt within myself – it was a pretty scary time.”

“After a couple of sessions with my psych, I became more confident in the way I felt and made the difficult decision to start telling my close friends and family. Even though that was hard, just because people didn’t understand why it was so important to me at first, the euphoria I felt from coming out and having it out there in the world was just incredible.”

El does want to stress that “the way people experience gender is so different, so this is just my own personal experience and shouldn’t be taken as a set of blanket rules for everyone who is non-binary, gender-fluid or genderqueer.”

Non-binary pronouns

While non-binary people don’t identify as either male or female, they may still prefer to be referred to as he/him or she/her. However, the majority of people who identify as non-binary will be referred to as the singular they/their/them. Using the correct pronouns can sometimes be difficult for the general population to get right, but only because it goes against common habits.

As El says, “It is definitely hard having people get my pronouns wrong on a daily basis, but when someone gets them right it makes up for all the mistakes tenfold!”

“I feel so seen and happy and just stoked, to be honest. When friends and family make the effort to try, and especially when they are interested enough to ask me questions about my gender, that means so much to me!”

How to be respectful towards a non-binary person

El understands why it can be hard for some people to adopt the correct language, but says, “In terms of how people should approach a non-binary person, I think the first step is to change your thinking when referring to people in general.”

“If we can all stop assuming people’s gender based on the way they look to us, and start talking about/asking pronouns – this will mean a lot to Enby and gender non-conforming people in general. This is definitely the way of the future.”

“When you meet someone saying, ‘Hi, my name is El! My pronouns are they/them, what about you?’ this makes it clear that it’s a safe space for them to share, and will really help to change society’s collective idea that there are only two valid genders.”

Non-binary flag

The non-binary community has its own flag, comprising yellow, white, purple and black horizontal stripes. It is used as an alternative to the genderqueer flag.

Each colour has been chosen to represent the different facets of non-binary. The yellow stripe represents people whose gender exists outside of the binary, the white stripe represents people with many or all genders, the purple is for people with genders considered a mix of male and female and the black for people who identify as not having a gender.

Non-binary celebrities

Thanks to greater awareness, a number of high-profile celebrities have come out as non-binary, which has in turn helped to generate greater awareness and acceptance. Celebrities who have come out as non-binary include:

  • Demi Lovato
  • G Flip
  • Sam Smith
  • Janelle Monáe
  • Elliot Page
  • Ruby Rose
  • Jonathan Van Ness
  • Cara Delevinge
  • Amandla Sternberg
  • Olly Alexander

International Non-Binary People’s Day

International Non-Binary People’s Day is celebrated on the 14th of July. Its main purpose is to raise awareness of non-binary as a gender term and the issues faced by those who identify as non-binary. International Non-Binary People’s Day was first observed in July 2012 and the 14th of July date was chosen specifically because it falls halfway between International Men’s Day and International Women’s Day.

Unfortunately, most countries around the world still don’t consider non-binary to be a legal gender, instead choosing to only recognise male and female. Change is occurring, however, with countries including Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand allowing residents to identify themselves as non-binary on their passports.

The United States of America is also making progress, with 24 of the 50 states, including Washington DC, allowing residents to mark an ‘X’ on their driver’s license.

While other countries may not recognise non-binary as a gender, they may recognise a third gender as an option on documentation, or genderqueer. Argentina, for example, passed a Gender Identity Law in 2012 that allows transgender people to identify their general on official documentation. In July 2021, a decree was passed in Argentina that allows a third gender option on national identity cards and passports, in the form of an ‘X’.

David Beckham Announces ‘Life & Career’ Documentary Coming To Netflix
David Beckham Announces ‘Life & Career’ Documentary Coming To Netflix

David Beckham, the former Manchester United and England football genius, has just announced a documentary providing an in-depth look at his life and career will be coming to Netflix.

David Beckham has taken to Instagram to announce a new “documentary series about my life and career,” that will be made in partnership with streaming service giant, Netflix.

Not a huge amount is known about the documentary so far, and we only have David’s words to go on. He further explains in his Instagram caption:

“The series will feature unseen archive [footage], untold stories as well as interviews with the people who have been a part of my journey. The series is directed and produced by Academy Award winners Fisher Stephens and John Battsek.”

Fisher Stephens is an American actor and producer, who currently stars in Succession, and has appeared in a number of Wes Anderson movies, including The Grand Budapest Hote, Isle of Dogs, and The French Dispatch. He also served as a producer on the hugely popular Netflix documentary Tiger King.

Naturally, David Beckham’s announcement has received plenty of comments from his celebrity pals, including chef Gordon Ramsay, who said, “Congrats mate.” David’s son, Romeo said he “can’t wait,” and MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov claimed David too, is a “Legend.”

David Beckham is easily one of the biggest household names, and a lot is already known about the former footballer who has become an international style icon and owner of his own football team, Inter Miami CF.

But, while his life lately is well-documented thanks to the advent of social media platforms such as Instagram, so to be given the chance to get a closer look at David’s roots and how he came to make his mark on the global stage should make for impressive viewing.

What we can also be pretty damn sure of is that, since this will be a Netflix-produced documentary, it will be incredibly well done. Netflix is home to some of the best documentaries on the planet, the majority of which focus on true crime, but there are some other absolute gems such as Drive to Survive.

We’ll be sure to update this page as and when more information about the David Beckham documentary becomes available, including its release date.

One Big Lesson Australia Should Learn From Europe’s Public Transport
One Big Lesson Australia Should Learn From Europe’s Public Transport

Spain has decided to make short and medium distance Renfe trains free from September, until the end of the year. It’s not the only European country to subsidise public transport, either. Here’s why, in a context of rising fuel prices and inflation, Australia should take note.

It’s not just Spain’s attitude to unemployment that Australia can learn from. We also should take note when it comes to public transport. Why? News has just broken that multi-journey tickets for short and medium distance Renfe services in Spain are going to become completely free in September. As CNN Travel reports, in response to increasing energy prices and inflation, “the government has announced further 100% discounts” (they had already halved prices in some cases).

The change will come into effect from September, with Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez saying multi-journey tickets for trains operated by Renfe’s Cercanías, Rodalies and Media Distance trips are to be free of charge from September the 1st up until the end of the year. The catch? Multi-journey tickets include a minimum of 10 return trips, and single fares are not included.

The Spanish Ministry of Transport has said: “This measure encourages to the maximum the use of this type of collective public transport to guarantee the needed daily commute with a safe, reliable, comfortable, economic and sustainable means of transportation, amid the extraordinary circumstances of the steady increase of energy and fuel prices.”

Image Credit: Pedro Antonio Salaverria Calahorra/Alamy

This is good news for tourists. As TimeOut points out: “For travellers visiting Spain, free Cercanías and Rodalies trains will unlock easy trips to the outer reaches of the city. But it’s the free Media Distancia trains which are really exciting: you’ll be able to city-hop all the way from Barcelona to Seville or Madrid to Bilbao, discovering a few underrated Spanish regional capitals along the way, all for absolutely nada.”

Though Australia is a country of cars, not trains (due to its geography and small population, as well as arguably, a lack of forward-thinking by previous generations), we still reckon we could learn from this bold new strategy from Spain. With Australian fuel prices through the roof, it would be nice to see incentives for commuters and travellers to take the train, even if only for short to medium length distance trips (like from Sydney to Newcastle, or Sydney to Wollongong).

Spain also isn’t alone in subsidising public transport costs, with Germany and Austria also offering very hip pocket friendly deals in recent years. Well, what are you waiting for? Either get your picket fence out and start protesting for free trains for Australia, or get your credit card out and book a flight to Spain…

Martin Lawrence Is Working With ‘Bad Boy’ Will Smith On A New Film
Martin Lawrence Is Working With ‘Bad Boy’ Will Smith On A New Film

Martin Lawrence has confirmed that despite Will Smith’s ‘slap incident’ at the Oscars, Bad Boys 4 is still going ahead.

Earlier this year during the annual Academy Awards ceremony Will Smith slapped Chris Rock; an incident that echoed all around the world.

Ever since, multiple celebrities – like Ricky Gervais – have given their two cents on the matter and Smith has essentially been blacklisted from Hollywood; he’s no longer allowed to attend future Academy Awards ceremonies and multiple projects he was working on have been ‘put on pause’.

But there’s one celebrity who’s now come out in support of Smith and still wants to make films with him. And that celeb is actor Martin Lawrence, who has worked with Smith multiple times in the past on Bad Boys, Bad Boys II and Bad Boys for Life.

In a recent interview with Ebony, Lawrence was asked whether the fourth Bad Boys film – which was confirmed to be in development back in 2020 before the slap – was still going ahead. To which Lawrence responded,

“We got one more, at least!”

Martin Lawrence
Lawrence thinks there will be “at least” one more Bad Boys film starring himself and Will Smith. Image Credit: Sony Pictures

Clearly, Lawrence is proud of the Bad Boys franchise that he and Smith built together as the actor also spoke about the first film’s success.

“It was big. For us to come together and prove that we can deliver, and we can pull people into the box office – that two Black stars, two sitcom stars, could make money at the box office, [it was huge].”

Martin Lawrence

What’s still unclear is when Bad Boys 4 will start filming, although it must be soon as it’s currently slated for release next year in 2023.

It’ll also be interesting to see whether Bad Boys 4 is successful at the box office. The last instalment in the franchise, Bad Boys for Life made over US$400 million globally; which is especially impressive considering it was released at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. But many may not go and see Bad Boys 4 because they don’t want to support Smith after the slap…

George R.R. Martin Should Just Let ‘Game Of Thrones’ Die
George R.R. Martin Should Just Let ‘Game Of Thrones’ Die

The popular TV show Game of Thrones had one of the most-hated conclusions in television history. And now the show is getting multiple spinoffs; spinoffs that no one really wants or cares about…

Game of Thrones was long considered one of the best television series of all time; you know, before the last season ruined the show’s legacy in 2019. The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones was panned by critics and fans alike for its poorly written conclusion.

Just like Lost, Dexter and How I Met Your Mother – just to name a few – Game of Thrones couldn’t stick the landing. And similar to how Dexter and How I Met Your Mother did with Dexter: New Blood and How I Met Your Father, Game of Thrones is trying to ‘reboot’ itself.

First of all, there’s the upcoming television series, House of the Dragon which is set to be released on Binge next month. The series will be set 200 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and will focus on House Targaryen; Daenerys’ ancestors.

Will House of the Dragon be able to save Game of Thrones‘ ruined legacy? Image Credit: Warner Bros.

Plus, just a few weeks ago, it was confirmed that a Jon Snow spin-off television series is in the works and Kit Harrington will reprise the beloved character he played in Game of Thrones.

Not to mention, George R.R. Martin recently took to his website to announce that the next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series (the books on which Game of Thrones is based) will differ greatly from the Game of Thrones ending.

“One thing I can say, in general enough terms that I will not be spoiling anything: not all of the characters who survived until the end of Game of Thrones will survive until the end of A Song Of Ice and Fire, and not all of the characters who died on Game of Thrones will die in A Song of Ice and Fire.”

George R.R. Martin
There’s a Jon Snow spinoff currently in development. But will Game of Thrones fans who were disappointed with the finale bother to tune in? Image Credit: HBO

But should Game of Thrones be ‘rebooting’ itself? Looking at Dexter: New Blood and How I Met Your Father, these new instalments were not received well. Both have much lower IMDb scores than the originals and drew in fewer viewers.

It’s long been speculated that Martin will never finish the A Song of Ice and Fire series; there are two books left to be published – The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. But the first book, A Game of Thrones, was published in 1996 and the last published book, A Dance with Dragons was released over 10 years ago in 2011. Considering it’s taking Martin so long to write the books and that he’s getting on in age (he’s currently 73), the final two books may never come.

However, we’re hopeful that the books will eventually be released and will have a much better and more thrilling conclusion than Game of Thrones did. But as for the spinoff shows, both of which Martin is involved with, it’s too little, too late. Take a leaf out of Lost’s book and just let Game of Thrones die in peace…

Wimbledon Prize Money: How Much Did Nick Kyrgios Win?
Wimbledon Prize Money: How Much Did Nick Kyrgios Win?

The prize money at every Wimbledon tournament has always been huge, but you may just think Wimbledon prize money is only worth it for the winner. Not so for Australia’s Nick Kyrgios, who despite being runner-up at Wimbledon 2022, still took home a hefty pay packet.

How much does the winner of Wimbledon get?

In 2022, the winner of both the Gentlemen’s Singles and Ladies Singles Championships take home £2 million/AU $3,520,844.78 (conversion correct at the time of publishing). For Novak Djokovic, who ultimately bested his Australian opponent in the men’s Wimbledon final 2022, this will mark his seventh time winning the prestigious trophy. Novak’s win also takes him to 21 Grand Slam title wins, now just 1 behind Spanish tennis player, Rafael Nadal.

In the Ladie’s Singles Championship, it was Elena Rybakina from Kazakstahn who came out on top, against Tunisian player Ons Jabeur.

How much money did Nick Kyrgios win?

Wimbledon 2022 marked Nick Kyrgios’ first Grand Slam final, so regardless of the outcome he knew he could be proud of himself. Ultimately, he lost out to Novak Djokovic, but as runner up, he still took home £1,050,000

While Kyrgios may have lost out on the huge £2 million Wimbledon prize money, as a runner up, he’ll still pocket £1,050,000/AU $1,848,443.51 in prize money.

Wimbledon Prize Money 2022

In 2022, the prize money for Wimbledon is the largest it’s ever been, in fact, the All England Tennis Club says, “The total prize money fund for The Championships 2022 will be a record £40,350,000.” This sum of money is for all events: singles, doubles, wheelchair and invitation doubles.

The £2 million Wimbledon prize money for the winner is undoubtedly huge, but have you ever wondered how much the Wimbledon prize money is for other rounds in the tournament?

One of the big draws for any player getting a chance to play at Wimbledon, is that even if they go home after the first round, they still leave with a considerable amount of money. Here is a breakdown of the Wimbledon prize money by round and by championship:

The amount of prize money awarded to players in the singles tournament totals £28,992,000/AU $50,974,640.83. However, the winner of the Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ singles will actually receive a lower amount of prize money compared to the 2019 tournament, before the Covid-19 pandemic. The winner of Wimbledon in 2019 received prize money of £2,350,000.

Kyrgios has had an incredible Wimbledon tournament and one that has unsurprisingly seen its fair share of controversy. Would we have him any other way? He’s completely shut down journalists asking him questions about alleged spitting at the crowd, has broken Wimbledon dress code rules and has had an online spat with Bernard Tomic (relatively recently before the tournament).

Yet, despite all this, Kyrgios has been playing some sublime tennis and fully deserved to find himself in the Wimbledon final. He may have got a little bit lucky, and it would have been interesting to have seen him play Rafael Nadal.

We can still be proud of King Kyrgios, despite missing out on his first Grand Slam trophy. And now with his prize money, maybe he could buy himself a new Tesla with a paint job that won’t destroy your retinas.

Nick Kyrgios Career Earnings

While the Wimbledon final will mark a huge prize money win for Nick Kyrgios, he already has some considerable career earnings to his name.

He has already won six ATP finals in his career so far, along with two wins in the doubles, the latter of which includes a title win in the doubles at the 2022 Australian Open with partner Thanasi Kokkinakis. All of Nick Kyrgios’ career titles to date have been on the hard court surface. If he wins the Wimbledon final, it will mark his first Grand Slam title on grass.

Nick Kyrgios’ career earnings to date stand at AU $14,498,244

Wimbledon Rankings

Wimbledon 2022 saw a rather peculiar happenstance occur in relation to the rankings of players. This year, the All England Tennis Club decided to ban Russian and Belarusian players from entering the tournament, in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In doing so, the ATP and WTA, the governing bodies of men’s and women’s tennis, chose to “[strip] Wimbledon of its rankings status in protest,” according to ABC.

Ranking points are what players earn depending on where they finish in a tournament, and the accumulative total of points earned during a calendar season can help gain them direct entry into future tournaments, without the need to go through qualifying matches.

Quite simply, they’re important.

In doing so, even though Novak Djokovic won Wimbledon 2022, he has dropped from third to seventh in the world rankings, while Nick Kyrgios dropped from 40th to 45th. This drop in ranking could affect Nick Kyrgios’ chances of even being able to enter the final Grand Slam of 2022, the US Open, which is due to start on Monday 29th August.

As ABC further states, “Ordinarily, Kyrgios would have soared to 15 in the world for his Wimbledon run, placing him in position to claim a top-16 seeding at Flushing Meadows.”

“Instead, Kyrgios — unless he climbs the rankings in the next month, when he planned a well-earned break — will be at the mercy of the draw.”

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, it revolves around Court Gentry, aka Sierra Six, the CIA’s most skilled black-ops mercenary. When Gentry (Gosling) accidentally uncovers dark agency secrets, he goes from being the hunter to the hunted and is pursued around the world by psychopathic former colleague Lloyd Hansen (Evans) and international assassins.

It’s an action-packed thriller in the vein of The Bourne Identity and James Bond, but with a grittier, more realistic, more modern touch. Gentry doesn’t gallivant around in a tuxedo or have heaps of wacky gadgets at his disposal in The Gray Man: he’s only got his wits… And his TAG Heuer Carrera ‘3 Hands’.

Available on either a steel bracelet or a leather strap, this silver-dial TAG Heuer Carrera ‘3 Hands’ is one classy watch.

Indeed, Gentry’s choice of watch really underlines a truth about real-world espionage. The reality is this: real spies don’t wear flashy watches. And that’s what makes The Gray Man – and the TAG Heuer Carrera ‘3 Hands’ – so different.

A real spy wouldn’t want to call attention to themselves or have anything that’s going to weigh them down. They need a watch that’s unobtrusive yet stylish enough to blend in with any outfit (or disguise) they might need to wear. Most importantly, they need something reliable and tough. Something that won’t crack under pressure.

That’s why the TAG Heuer Carrera ‘3 Hands’ is such a perfect watch, not only for The Gray Man but any sort of man.

First of all, it’s capable. Powered by TAG’s dependable Calibre 5 movement, it boasts 100m of water resistance and a 38-hour power reserve – perfect for men of action. A generous dashing of Super-LumiNova on the watch’s hands and hour indices make it easy to read even in complete darkness.

Secondly, it’s versatile. Its crisp, masculine looks are at once both sporty and dressy. Cosmopolitan would be a good way to describe it. The date window mounted at 6 o’clock is a nice touch – a bit out of the ordinary but still highly legible.

While it’s available on an alligator leather strap, the steel integrated bracelet is a real highlight. Incredibly sturdy yet remarkably thin, the angular design with its nicely-integrated deployant clasp stands out as a particularly nice bracelet to take on and off. It’s also available in a variety of dial finishes, but again, we’re a fan of Gentry’s silver dial model thanks to its versatility. It’s super clean.

TAG Heuer has always been a favourite brand of spies, both fictional and real, and it’s not hard to see why. Robust yet dapper, avant-garde yet timeless, they’re the very definition of savoir-faire. They’re just the sort of thing a spy needs in his arsenal – although TAG Heuer’s watches are just as handy for less high-stakes missions, too…
