Here are the signs that you’re staring down the black hole of obsessive grooming and might be on the verge of surrendering your manhood to the abyss.
It Interrupts More Important Shit In Your Life
Grooming is an important supplement to a well-rounded lifestyle. But it should never become the main act. The good stuff – spending time with your mates, some semblance of an exercise routine, having stable and fulfilling employment – should never get lost behind a quest to achieve porcelain skin or the perfect fade.
Putting in a bit of extra work to get rid of oily skin or acne? No problem. Getting to work late because you had a meltdown over an empty tub of moisturiser or a dysfunctional blow-dryer? Symptomatic of a bigger problem.
You Spend More On It Than The Partner
Grooming ain’t cheap. But spending more than your better half (who probably has a pretty sophisticated routine going already) is a pretty good indication you’re getting a bit lost in your own vanity.
We’re not dermatologists, but we don’t see the need for much more than a daily cleanser, toner, and moisturiser, and exfoliating once or twice a week.

All The Shiny Things
Make the most of your smooth, shiny and reflective surfaces, and add a few new ones. For example, a glass splashback will allow light to bounce around the kitchen, and a glass-topped dining table gives a dining room lacking windows a brighter lease on life.
Mind The Mirror
Yes, it’s an obvious one, but mirrors really can transform a space. Using mirrors to reflect light and make a room look spacious is an interior design trick as old as homes themselves.
For the best results, position mirrors opposite or adjacent to windows, and remember that bigger is better. The larger your mirror, the better reflective properties you’ll enjoy. Mirror tiles are another quick way to increase light, and if you’re feeling particularly brave, why not tile a whole wall?
Highlight The Ceiling
Optical illusions are the friend of a windowless man, but regardless of how much natural light your home receives, it’s a good idea to paint the ceilings in a slightly lighter shade to the walls.
This will open up the area and give the feeling of a lighter, brighter room. Another way to highlight the ceiling is by incorporating recessed light fittings.
The Door Factor
Solid wood front doors are out. Step into 2017 with a glass panelled door that allows extra light to infiltrate the house.

Light-blocking curtains are great at keeping the heat out, but the cumbersome things tend to create a dark and dreary atmosphere.
Translucent shades or curtains will still provide screening from nosy neighbours, but they’ll also allow a warm glow to penetrate the space and reflect light onto the walls.
Don’t forget to trim any hedges or trees surrounding or blocking your windows.

Furniture and furnishing coated in a layer of dust and grime will hinder the effectiveness of a light-filled home.
Maintain and clean all your windows, bench tops, fixtures and even light bulbs so the light that enters your home can shine at its fullest capacity.
Know Your Positioning
Furniture placement can make or break a space, so remember to place items away from a window’s direct stream of light and never cocoon windows with furniture, particularly dark coloured couches.

William Easton who is the Managing Director of Facebook & Instagram in the Australia/New Zealand region said in a statement that, “Instagram has long connected people and brands with unique and creative content. 2017 was no different, with nine million Australians now using Instagram each month to explore the platform and connect to the community members and passion points that matter to them most.”

Italian flair is marking its return to the pinnacle of motorsport with Alfa Romeo announcing a brand new partnership with the Swiss Sauber F1 Team for the 2018 season.
The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)-owned marque today signed off on a multi-year technical and commercial partnership agreement which will see the existing team rebranded as the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team complete with the Italian carmaker’s signature colours.
Most importantly, the cars will benefit from running the latest 2018 Ferrari power units thanks to the brand’s existing synergy with the prancing horse – a close knit relationship which dates all the way back to 1929 when Enzo Ferrari founded the Alfa Romeo racing team.
In the realm of production cars this partnership is poised to see a raft of benefits including the application of cutting-edge Formula 1 technology and safety concepts into Alfa Romeo road cars.
“This agreement with the Sauber F1 Team is a significant step in the reshaping of the Alfa Romeo brand,” said Sergio Marchionne, CEO of FCA.
“The brand itself will also benefit from the sharing of technology and strategic know-how with a partner of the Sauber F1 Team’s undisputed experience.”
Most importantly this historic move will once again reinvigorate passionate Alfa Romeo fans who have had to wait for more than three decades to see one of the most iconic names in grand prix racing return to its roots.

Many of us have fantasised about selling our worldly possessions and starting over in a brand new city. Perhaps a romantic life in Paris is calling, or the neon energy of Tokyo, or the cultural institutions of New York City.
But be prepared to shell out for the privilege of your new lifestyle, because each of those beloved destinations cracked the top 10 in The Economist‘s annual ranking of the most expensive cities in the world.
The Economist Intelligence Unit, the research division of the Economist Group, compares more than 400 prices across 160 products and services – including food, rent, clothing transport, and leisure – to determine the ranking in its yearly Worldwide Cost of Living Survey.
Singapore emerged as the world’s priciest city to live in for the fourth consecutive year, narrowly edging out a cadre of strong contenders in Asia. Hong Kong defended its second place title from 2016, closely followed by Zurich.
Meanwhile, over in Japan, Tokyo and Osaka re-entered the ranking this year, meaning that Asian cities now account for half of the most expensive cities in the Worldwide Cost of Living 2017 survey.
The report also names 2017’s least expensive cities (number one: Almaty, Kazakhstan) and the cities that are becoming more affordable compared to last year’s report. The latter list includes London, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Beijing.

In a show which has become quite a spectacle for all things other than music, the Australian artist walked the red carpet in a simple and fitted charcoal suit complete with unstructured blazer, a semi-spread collared shirt, silk knit tie and polished leather boots.
Whilst there’s a fine line between dressing conservatively and being classically stylish, we think Joy easily falls into the latter amongst a sea of Australian men who had little idea or just didn’t make any real effort.

German streetwear store BSTN have earned a solid reputation for their ambitious campaign launches and their latest effort is no different.
To help kick off the new Nike Air Force 1 AF-100 Campaign, the founders of BSTN took their love for the iconic sneaker model and Roc-A-Fella Record before pairing it to not one, but four extravagant vehicles to coincide with the four upcoming Air Force 1 collaborations with Roc-A-Fella, Just Don, Travis Scott and Acronym.
Each one of the vehicles feature distinct aesthetic cues which represents each sneaker in white alongside the partnering brand motif. All up BSTN used a Can-Am Spyder to reflect Acronym’s design philosophy, a Mercedes G63 AMG to reflect the proportions of the high top AirForce 1, the Lamborghini Aventador to channel Travis Scott’s life in the fast lane and a Cessna Citation XLS Private Jet to showcase the Roc-A-Fella lifestyle.
Nike’s ‘Swoosh’ motif appears across all of the vehicles to make for one of the most attention grabbing campaigns to ever hit the land (and skies).
