George Clooney is a man of taste. The 60-year-old superstar isn’t just one of the consistently best-dressed men in Hollywood, a purveyor of exceptionally fine tequila and one of a few celebrities whose activism is actually meaningful and not just some performative charade – he’s also got great watches.Of course, it helps that he’s an OMEGA ambassador, but when it comes to his taste in timepieces, he’s rather selective. He doesn’t go for one of OMEGA’s most famous watches, the Speedmaster Professional ‘Moonwatch’, nor does he rock one of their most expensive pieces, such as the six-figure De Ville Tourbillon. Actually, his favourite watch is one of OMEGA’s most underrated models: the Seamaster Aqua Terra. He seems particularly fond of the black dial 150M Master Chronometer version of the timepiece, having been spotted wearing it on numerous occasions this week. First, he wore it on the red carpet in London on Monday at the premiere of The Tender Bar, the coming-of-age drama film he directed that stars Ben Affleck (as you can see above). Then, just yesterday in New York City, he was spotted wearing the watch during a casual stroll in Central Park – demonstrating not only his love for the watch but also its impressive versatility.

Luxury Travel Intelligence has announced the World’s Best Luxury Hotel Brands for 2021. With international travel soon back on the cards for Australians, they are all well worth a gander.Six Senses, a (you guessed it) luxury 5 star hotel brand with 16 hotels and resorts and 25 spas in 19 countries around the world, took out top spot for the second year in a row. In other big news, three other brands made their way into the top 12 for their first time ever. Before we give you the list – here’s how the hotels are judged. Luxury Travel Intelligence assesses them over a 12 month period in what they describe as “the perfect assessment process,” using “a rigorously defined algorithm that measures the performance and values of luxury hotel brands.”Per Luxury Travel Intelligence: “This year, our algorithm has 131 touch points relevant to the luxury hotel sector. Each has its own weighted score value with a total maximum accumulative score of 4736. The touch points relate to overall brand performance, rather than the performance of individual properties. It is all about a brand’s ability to deliver: its passion, commitment, ethos and values, as well as the quality of its management and staff.”Luxury Travel Intelligence adds: “Continuing investment and how well it is executed is also a major factor, particularly regarding new properties and the refurbishment of existing ones. This year’s results are reflected as percentages, with last year’s positions in brackets.”
- Six Senses 83.3% (1)
- Mandarin Oriental 82.6% (5)
- Auberge 81.8% (3)
- Aman 81.4% (2)
- Belmond 79.9% (4)
- One&Only 77.0% (6)
- Oetker Collection 75.7% New Entry
- Four Seasons 74.1% (8)
- Rosewood 73.5% (7)
- Raffles 72.7% New Entry
- Viceroy 72.2% New Entry
- COMO 71.0% (10)
Other brands that were good enough to be monitored by Luxury Travel Intelligence during the year were (in alphabetical order) Alila, Anantara, Banyan Tree, Dorchester Collection, Firmdale, Jumeirah, Leela, Oberoi, Park Hyatt, Peninsula, Ritz Carlton, Rocco Forte, Shangri-La, Soho House, St. Regis, Taj and The Luxury Collection.Brands that currently have less than ten properties (Luxury Travel Intelligence’s minimum requirement) but rate highly when applying their algorithm are (in alphabetical order) Airelles, Althoff Collection, Bulgari, Capella, Cheval Blanc, Maybourne, Montage, Nikki Beach, Pendry and Soneva.Luxury Travel Intelligence also points out, for those curious to know more about the selection proces, that their researchers “engage with everyone from CEOs of the brands we have rated to thousands of managements, staff and guests.”

“This is all part of the process for creating our destination led reports for our members (affluent, discerning travellers) but it also allows us to utilise our findings to create this unique report.”“Every year the process starts again – the results from previous years have no bearing on the following year.”“This does inevitably lead to volatility in each year’s results (such as this year), but this is a dynamic sector and we want to reflect what is really happening out there.”As for the winner – Six Senses – they write: “We continue to be very impressed with Six Senses. It has an authentic blend of wellness, sustainability, warm hospitality and crafted guested experiences. Also, its leadership is exemplary. The recent addition of Neil Palmer as Chief Operations Officer will bring boundless experience, energy and further integrity to the brand.”In terms of the exciting new entries which have broken into the list, they write: “We have been tracking Oetker Collection for several years while they have been building an exceptional portfolio of globally renowned hotels.”On top of that, they say they were “particularly impressed with the meticulously rebuilt of The Eden Rock in St Barths and their creation of The Woodward, a 26 room all-suite hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva, which opened in September.”Likewise, Raffles, with a new CEO at the helm, impressed Luxury Travel Intelligence by “quietly creating a raft of impressive new properties across the globe.”Viceroy, for its part, has demonstrated, in Luxury Travel Intelligence’s view, “great courage and commitment to building a global modern luxury hotel brand offering intuitive service, authentic experiences and provocative design.”Ready to book a ticket yet?

Rappers and Rolls-Royces go together like apple pie and ice cream. The British luxury carmaker is one of the hip-hop world’s most beloved brands: not only is it namedropped in countless tracks, but many of the world’s most successful wordsmiths – from 50 Cent to Drake – own a Rolls. Some of them even own multiple.Unlike some other luxury brands, Rolls-Royce is appreciative of the love the hip-hop world shows them: indeed, a company spokesman told Bloomberg in 2017 that “we make no judgments… we want to be connected to success.” But we doubt they’d be so magnanimous if they saw what one rapper’s just done to one of their cars.Young Thug, a Grammy-winning iconoclast known for his offbeat musical style and taste in fashion, has trashed his Rolls-Royce Wraith in public as part of a publicity stunt promoting his upcoming second studio album, Punk. Thugger, alongside fellow artists Gunna and Metro Boomin, truly went to town on the half a million-dollar car, drawing a huge crowd in the process – smashing it with baseball bats, vandalising it with spray paint, and tearing off the famous Spirit of Ecstacy hood ornament. It’s a truly uncomfortable video for any car lover (or minimum wage earner) to watch… But here it is below.
At the end of the day, it’s his car, so he can do whatever he wants with it. But we’d be lying if we didn’t think this was a bit of a senseless waste. Still, we’re writing about it.RELATED: Post Malone Does The Unthinkable With $1 Million Rolls-Royce SUVOf course, this isn’t the first time some big-name rappers have trashed an ultra-expensive luxury car to promote an album. Jay-Z and Kanye West famously took an angle grinder to a Maybach 57, chopping it up and then hooning around in it in the music video for their 2011 single Otis, in order to hype up their collaborative album, Watch The Throne.Afterwards, that Maybach was put up for auction, and the proceeds donated toward the East African Drought Disaster. Hopefully Young Thug does something similar, or at the very least, gets it repaired. We’d love to see the look on the smash repairer’s face as that thing rolled into the shop…

Jimmy* is a bonafide high-flyer in the car sales business from Melbourne. Whilst the charismatic 38-year-old bachelor has earned his stripes and claims to have seen it all, nothing would prepare him for these few words from the surgeon’s mouth.
“We’re basically going to cut your penis off at the base, go in, sew the break up and then put your penis back on.”
Jimmy was in a natural state of shock. It was an emotion which outweighed any notion of fear as he lay slumped in the examination chair, gazing down at a blackened piece of appendage that now resembled an overripe banana.
His penis was properly broken and he knew it. What he didn’t know was how severe it was until after the operation.

A Penis Prologue
To contemplate the girth of this story (sorry), one needs to first travel back to a more jovial time where beautiful young women were aplenty and Seeking Arrangements was an entirely viable way for Jimmy to meet them.
For the uninitiated, Seeking Arrangements is a sugar baby and sugar daddy dating website founded by MIT graduate Brandon Wade. Older professionals with money hook up with gorgeous young women who like to spend said money. Sex is often part of the deal without needing to make it entirely explicit and the site claims that there’s the potential for “real connections”.
For pre-busted-penis Jimmy, this would be his second date with Stacey*, a stunning 23-year old part-time model / Seeking Arrangements regular.
He had already engaged with her on a previous intimate occasion and admits that the early signs of trouble were already lingering. According to Jimmy, the act of insertion during sex would leave an “odd feeling” in his penis.
On the night of the accident, they were out for the standard dinner + sex date. She looked amazing on this particular night and he was already in a losing battle to contain himself. The pair decided to cut the formalities short and headed straight to his place where a night of passionate lovemaking was in order. The furthest they made it was his sofa…
Fifteen minutes into the session and luck had finally run out.
With the entire weight of his torso behind him, Jimmy pushed at full force, hitting the wall and causing it to bend beyond its maximum yield. There was no ‘snap’ sound. Just an eerie sensation of a sharp pop going from his man-bits to his spine. Then came the blood.
Jimmy pulled out only to find blood pouring out over Stacey’s leg and the side of his beloved sofa. Foolishly, he didn’t know where the blood was coming from and being the alpha male that he is, resorted to his proven salesman mantra: Persistence will overcome resistance. So he brushed it off and attempted to keep going.
It was the perfect storm with devastating results. It didn’t feel right from that point on and the pain became too excruciating. He admitted temporary defeat and decided to let ‘it’ rest for five minutes. The pain didn’t subside and it began to turn black.
The onset of panic was mounting so he did what any self-respecting man with a penis going gangrene would. He called a mate and filled him in on the fallen penis predicament.
Based on what he had seen, the wise friend ordered him to the hospital along with a warning to prepare for a penis operation. Without any time wasted, he Uber-ed it to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne’s inner city.
The Not-So-Hard Truth
Jimmy would lie in hospital for another five days with a heavily bruised penis before the surgeons could get to him.
According to the doctors, it’s a common issue with cases of ‘bent dick’ coming in around once a month.
What he learnt from his own MRI scan was that men can’t actually “break” their penis since there’s no bone in there; it’s essentially a muscle which houses the urethra and fills with blood when the penis is erect. Jimmy managed to tear that muscle open by about an inch right in the middle of the shaft.
That was never going to be an option so the surgeons went in via the other end, slicing open the penis at the base, sewing the broken tissue and then re-attaching the skin to the rest of the penis once they washed out all of the bruising.
The doctors politely refused his request to throw in some extra length and girth while they were at it.
A Hard Lesson Learned
James’s accident wasn’t a result of too much sex or even his preferred position. It was pure carelessness which he admits to. That and the two Viagra pills he dropped prior to intercourse.
With that much mojo going through a man’s body, the potential risk of damage is catastrophic. He simply got ahead of himself, took advantage of the situation and came out second best.
The trauma to follow the surgery was the toughest test. James couldn’t walk for a week due to the 20-plus internal stitches lining the internal wall of his penis. The worst part though was the sleep.
Men are known to have up to five erections a night which can last up to 20 or 30 minutes. Every time he fell asleep and went erect, the stitches would want to pop, waking him in the worst pain imaginable to man. He would get up four to five times a night for a week to walk off these painful erections before returning to broken sleep.
The doctors had warned that sex needed to be off the cards for four to six weeks. At the four week mark, he thought he’d try his luck with his healing and ended up getting an infection instead. This put him out of the game for another four weeks and the aesthetics of his manhood were now worse than ever.
There’d also be no erection for a week which pushed James to his psychological limit.
By week ten he was finally healed, although he admits it will never be the same again. The perfect position now felt awkward to him and he’d need to guide his penis with his hand to get it right where he wanted.
To add insult to the injury, he hooked up with an ex who told him that a bit of length has seemingly been taken off. Ouch.
He still counts his blessings til’ this day. In the end he tells us that he’s just happy he can stand on his own two feet again, even though the scars will always be an ominous reminder.

It’s fair to say that the hospitality industry has had it harder than most this year, with restaurants, pubs and clubs across Australia continuing to suffer through lockdowns and an economic downturn. But it’s also worth thinking about the businesses that support those businesses: the providores and producers that make the products they sell. Some of whom have been also hit harder than others. For example, Aussies have been drinking plenty in lockdown… But with restaurants closed, businesses that supply fine dining ingredients have done it tough. One business that’s been feeling the pinch is Australia’s lobster farmers, who’ve dealt with the one-two punch of the COVID downturn as well as frosty relations with China seeing access to the gold mine that is the mainland Chinese market more or less cut off. It’s a very different story for another type of luxurious Australian seafood, however. Australia’s oyster business has beaten the odds and is actually thriving (in some parts of the country at least), despite the challenges that 2020 and 2021 have wrought upon the industry.ABC News relates that despite the pandemic initially costing Australian oyster farmers much of their export and domestic markets, as the country has re-opened, growers – particularly in South Australia – have reported unprecedented demand for their products, with Australian appetites hungry for local oysters.
“In South Australia, oyster growers have experienced record sales for the past few quarters, which many have attributed to people being happier to spend money on themselves and the fact many locals have been looking to their own backyards for experiences.”

Sylvester Stallone is one of the most prolific watch collectors in Hollywood. The 75-year-old ‘Italian Stallion’ has amassed a huge collection over the years, huge being the operative term: the buff action movie star certainly has a taste for big watches and arguably kicked off the watch world’s current obsession with larger case sizes, thanks to his boosting of Panerai since the mid-90s.Indeed, he owns a lot of Panerais – he’s got so many he’s happy to give them away. He was even responsible for giving Arnold Schwarzenegger his first Panerai. But it seems these days the watch brand he’s most obsessed with is Rolex, with one model in particular forming the basis of his obsession: the GMT-Master ‘Pepsi’.Of course, Stallone was wearing Rolexes before he was wearing Panerais: he famously wore a gold Submariner in the Rocky sequels. However, it’s the famous ‘Pepsi’ that really has his heart. Stallone owns numerous iterations of the coveted timepiece, so-nicknamed for its blue and red bezel (more on the history of the GMT-Master here). The one he loves the most is his vintage GMT-Master I – the OG ‘Pepsi’ – which you can see him wearing whilst posing with his daughters above. He also took to Instagram last week to show us a close-up of the beauty (show below)… Although it would be nice if he invested in a phone with a halfway decent camera instead of buying so many watches.

Airlines are breaking down their business class fares into ‘unbundled’ tickets, in a similar way in which customers have come to expect from economy over the years. These tickets typically cost a couple of hundred dollars less than the full fare, depending on the airline and the flight route. Some love it and some hate it. But whatever your take, it looks to be a trend that’s here to stay, with the technique spreading across the industry faster than you can say “hold my Dom Pérignon.”Qatar Airways first did it as part of a de-bundling in November 2020 (which has been even further debundled recently) so now you can get all kinds of business class fares. There’s the full English (for full price). This is called ‘Elite.’ Then there are a bunch more options, with fewer perks (and cheaper prices) like ‘Comfort’ and ‘Classic’ (think: the full business class experience, but with, for example, no seat selection). Then there’s business class lite which is business class but without lounge access and without seat selection.Watch what it’s like to fly Qatar Airways business class in the video below.
Qatar Airways isn’t the only airline doing this. Hong Kong based airline Cathay Pacific is currently rolling out an unbundled business class experience (although the airline says it’s more in name than anything, with perks like seat selection and lounge access being set to remain even for unbundled tickets).Finnair, too, has cut its business class fares into categories, with an unbundled ‘light’ ticket now being an option, in an attempt to cater to a growing demographic of leisure travellers who don’t need more than a carry on suitcase and a bag, and aren’t that fussed about lounge access.Earlier this year, Finnair’s Chief Commerical Officer, Ole Orvér, said: There is an increasing need to personalise the travel experience, and our new ticket types offer opportunities for choice and tailoring. We want to offer our customers journeys that look like them, and we will be adding more choice and personalisation opportunities to our offering as we re-introduce services and prepare for ramp-up of our operations.”RELATED: Airlines Ditching Business Class For ‘Middle Market’ Money SpinnerOh, and, how could we forget: Emirates. Emirates was one of the first airlines to introduce an unbundled business class experience, with its ‘special’ fare. Emirates’ special fare is cheaper than full service business, but means you can’t select your seat until check in opens, don’t get chauffeur priviledges, have no lounge access (unless you have eligible frequent flyer status), are not eligible for upgrades to first class, and have a lower rate of mileage earn.Speaking of which – it seems one of the big reasons to unbundle business, other than to give travellers more options, is to give airlines more flexibility and offer customers more choice as the frequent flyer points industry booms. As more and more people jump on the bandwagon, airlines need to give people more things to spend their points on. This also gives them an element of control. When they anticipate lounges will be full, for instance, they can simply offer more ‘lite’ business fares online, rather than full service ones.

In what’s really a very short amount of time in the grand scheme of things, Tesla has grown from a plucky Californian startup to not only the world’s most influential electric vehicle manufacturer, but also one of the world’s biggest car brands. While it was the large Model S sedan that was responsible for Tesla’s breakthrough into the mainstream, it’s been its smaller, more affordable Model 3 sedan that’s really been Tesla’s big winner. Let’s break it down: the Model 3 is the best-selling EV of all time, the first electric car to pass the 1 million global sales milestone, and was the world’s top selling EV for three years running from 2018 to 2020 (until China’s Wuling Hongguang Mini unseated it unceremoniously earlier this year). It’s not only the best-selling EV in dozens of markets across the globe, but the best-selling car full stop. It’s impressive that it’s been able to pull that off even in countries with well-established domestic car makers, such as South Korea, the UK or its home market, the US. One place you’d never expect Tesla to succeed, however is Germany, one of the world’s most dominant automotive nations and a leading EV manufacturer. But in what’s sure to be a painful awakening for Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz – Germany’s three big premium car brands – recent sales data has revealed that the Tesla Model 3 outsold all of their midsize, combustion engined offerings combined in Germany last month. Ouch.
This Tesla news comes at the same time that Porsche, one of Germany’s top performance car makers and part of the Volkswagen Group alongside Audi, has recorded that sales of its new all-electric Taycan have outstripped those of its famous 911 in the United States – and, rather entertainingly, is even rivalling sales of Tesla’s Model S.RELATED: Porsche’s Big Electric Vehicle Gamble Is Paying Off, Sales Data RevealsSo while Tesla’s bringing it to the Germans, they’re returning fire in America at the same time. Who knew the EV revolution was ever going to be this entertaining?

You sprint towards the boarding gate. Your suitcase thumps behind you. Thoughts of thousands of wasted dollars bounce in your chest. Life sucks. You reach the boarding gate only to get zero, nup, nada from the airline staff.“Sorry, it’s too late.”This is a situation we’ve all seen and cringed at (if not experienced ourselves). But rather than acting like a headless chook, you can now learn to handle the situation like a seasoned professional.Posted to TikTok last week by flight attendant/social media personality Kat Kamalani, the following video shows you the best possible way to handle this situation, to give you the maximum chance of still getting on that flight.Watch Kat explain how to still get onto a flight, even if you’re late, in the video below.
“Ok, we’ve all been there – we’re running late to a flight, we’re panicking,” Kat explains in the video. “Here’s the first thing you need to do. Always, always, always still go to your gate if your plane has not departed – the reason being is that a) it could be delayed and b) you could possibly get back on that flight.”Kat continued: “If you are late to a flight what happens with the gate agent is they start putting stand by people on those seats. Those are people who have either got a ticket or people who work for the airlines and they are waiting for a seat if there is an open one.”
“This is what’s going to happen to you in the next 24 hours based on these things.”
“If you go up angry and mad I promise these gate agents are just going to put you on the next flight out – they’re not even going to worry about it.”“But if you’re kind and pleasand and sweet then there may be a good chance the gate agent will help you out on that flight.”One commenter wrote next to the video: “Good advice, I’ve been surprised by the number of times I’ve been given an advantage or had a gate agent gop out of way to help when I was just nice.”Another chimed in with: “I can’t believe anyone things they will get anything by being nasty. Be nice to front line workers, always!”Yet another claimed this exact technique had worked for them: “Yes one time my gate was closed but they got permission to reopen for me because they were waiting for the pilot.”Then a gate agent provided their 2 cents, weighing in with: “She is right about being nice. I’m a gate agent! Nice goes a long way! Crazy thing is you’re late not me lol.”Another airport workers (or at least, a TikTok user who claims to be an airport worker) said that it depends on the status of your luggage as to whether you get onto the flight.
“We still put you on the flight if your luggage hasn’t been found yet.”
Food for thought. And there you have it – much like if you want to get special treatment from the cabin crew on the flight – play nice.
