It seems as if the football GOAT’s dream of winning a World Cup might be dead and buried… Thankfully, he can dab away his tears while wearing his latest, most ridiculous watch.
The 37-year-old striker and captain of the Portugal national football team has been forced to eat a bit of humble pie this week after his side unexpectedly lost to Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Considering his age and declining form, Qatar was probably the last chance the star had to finally win a World Cup, a feat that’s long eluded him despite his numerous other achievements… Regardless of what you think about him personally, you have to admit it’s a (potentially) sad end to an otherwise pretty glorious career.
Ah well. At least his wrist game isn’t in any decline. Ahead of the Portugal v Morocco game, Ronaldo was spotted wearing a yellow gold, bedazzled Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Pepsi’ (ref. 116758SARU) worth a solid AU$200,000.

A particularly fancy (and slightly less practical) take on the iconic GMT watch that was introduced in 2018, this ‘Pepsi’ features a bezel filled with 18 blue sapphires and 18 rubies instead of the typical blue-red aluminium or ceramic bezel insert that inspired this model’s nickname.
RELATED: The Rolex GMT-Master ‘Pepsi’ Alternatives We Can Approve
Instead of alphanumeric hour markers on the bezel, it features 23 diamonds, and on top of that, its crown guard and lugs are set with another 76 brilliant-cut diamonds. Oh, and it’s made from 18ct yellow gold, if all the gems weren’t outrageous enough.
For most other mortals, this would be an exceptionally ludicrous watch, but by Ronaldo’s standards, this is pretty tame stuff. The highest-paid athlete in the world has one of the most extensive, expensive and outrageous watch collections on the planet. Check out some of his other pricey pieces below.

Harry Kane once starred in a comedy skit where rugby legend Johnny Wilkinson taught him how to take a penalty. This video is now going the rounds again, with cruel commenters writing things like “this aged well” underneath videos of the skit.
A comedy skit of Harry Kane being taught how to take penalties by Jonny Wilkinson has been dredged up from the depths of the Internet after the England captain missed a crucial penalty against France during Sunday morning’s World Cup semi-final.
Though Kane scored a penalty earlier in the game, missing the second proved costly, with France winning the clash 2-1. Not only will the miss haunt the English number 9, but a skit he starred in years ago is also being thrown around group chats all over the world to taunt disappointed England fans too (by their cruel Irish, Scottish, Aussie, etc. mates).
WATCH: Johnny Wilkinson teaches Harry Kane how to take a penalty
The clip, which is from a 2018 Sport Relief sketch (Sport Relief is a biennial charity event from Comic Relief), shows Kane being taught how to win a World Cup with England by the former English flyhalf Johnny Wilkinson, whose last minute drop-goal saw England win the rugby World Cup in 2003 in extra time.
At the behest of comedian John Bishop, Wilkinson shows Kane how to take a penalty the “correct” way (rugby style, hitting it over the bar for three points, rather than into the goal as you would in soccer).
In the skit, Kane hits the perfect soccer penalty, smashing the ball hard and low into the bottom left corner of the goal. Wilkinson steps in telling him: “No, no… you’ve got it all wrong.”
Kane protests, saying: “But it went in,” before Wilkinson shows him the “right” way to do it. The bum-wiggling genius, who carried England through much of the 2003 World Cup with his accurate spot kicks, lines up the soccer ball on a rugby tee, before sending it flying over the goal.
“That’s how you do it,” says Wilkinson, clearly buzzing. Kane is confused, replying: “You just put it over by a mile.”
“Yes, but that’s how I won a World Cup with England,” Wilkinson counters, smiling.
The skit continues with Kane following suit and smashing a penalty over the goal (similarly to the way he smashed his second penalty over the weekend against France over the goal). This sees him praised by Wilkinson who says: “Much better, Harry. That’s the one!”
Despite becoming England’s joint all-time record goalscorer on Sunday (both he and Rooney have currently scored 53 international goals), Kane will probably not see this funny side of this comedy sketch, should it grace his social media feed.
And just like that, England fans have to wait another 4 years before getting all excited that “it’s coming home” all over again…

American rapper ‘Yung Gravy’ has pledged 678 bras (and counting) to charity, claiming he will match the dollar value of all the bras thrown at him and donate it to breast cancer charities.
In perhaps the most 2022 story you’ll read this week, American rapper Yung Gravy, the guy responsible for such hits as Betty, C’est la vie, Oops! and Mr Clean, has pledged to donate a bunch of money (and bras) to charity. This comes after “Minneapolis set a new record with 159 bras on stage,” the rapper announced on TikTok.
WATCH: Fans throw their bras at rapper Yung Gravy
Yung Gravy said: “We have now collected 678 to donate to women’s shelters.” He added: “I’ll match the final value with a donation to breast cancer charities. So ladies, how much do you pay for a decent bra these days?”
My nephew be talking about Yung Gravy and I’m like… who tf? Then I learned that the bras women throw to him while he’s on stage, he donates to women’s shelters and I don’t need to know anything else
— NB (@Nicole_El) December 11, 2022
The rapper’s pledge split opinion, with some calling it an ingenious way to raise awareness for a good cause, and others calling it weird. One Twitter user said: “Yung gravy donating the bras that ppl throw on stage to women shelters is kinda iconic.”
the amount of bras thrown at Yung Gravy tonight was fucking astounding
— Noah (@tappytheduck) December 4, 2022
a middle aged lady in front of me with her boomer husband threw hers too like wtf
Another said: “It was weird when women and minors threw bras at Elvis, it’s weird that women and minors throw bras at All Time Low, it’s weird that women and minors throw bras at Yung Gravy. It’s not just ATL. it’s weird it’s weird it’s weird.”
there’s no reason why this many bras should be being thrown at yung gravy
— Chance Harper (@washeduprookie) December 3, 2022
Another said: “No all time low is just a bunch of freaks yung gravy has full intentions of donating and not collecting MINORS BRAS FOR HIMSELF.”
Just found out that Yung Gravy’s team collected all the bras thrown on the stage during concerts on his current tour and now has almost 700 to donate to women’s shelters. Yung Gravy remains on my Good Men list along with the custodian at my workplace and the local weather man.
— hot waldo (@hotwaldotm) November 29, 2022
Yet another commented: “If I hadn’t been wearing my favorite bra to the yung gravy concert I woulda thrown mine too.”
If you aren’t going home bra less from a @yunggravy concert then why even go…..
— Cierraaa (@cierralopez99) December 10, 2022
PS. I’m very upset I took a pic with him after the concert and it fucking deleted
Another shared their experience of the concert, writing: “So I went to the @yunggravy and @bbnomula show last night in Austin and I took off my bra and I turned to the guy I had just met in line to the show and asked him to throw my bra at Gravy. I don’t think I’ve seen a guy’s face light up like that in a while.”
It remains unknown how much money Yung Gravy will be donating to charity. But if we assume the average bra costs $50, then Yung Gravy ought to be donating at least $33,900 to charity, to match the 678 bras that have apparently been thrown so far.

The following article was produced in partnership with Van Heusen.
For many of us Aussie blokes, it’s been a very long time since we’ve had to wear a suit. Call it one of the few benefits (or negatives) of The Spicy Cough. But now that summer’s here and we’ve got weddings, parties and special occasions filling up our calendars, the need to look good in a suit has never been greater.
But it’s not always easy styling a suit in summer. Hotter weather means it’s more important than ever to pick cuts and materials that will remain comfortable even as the mercury rises – but the sartorial demands of the summer party season mean you need to be both tactical and playful with colours and textures.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Van Heusen – Australia’s leading purveyor of suits and business shirts – to show you how to make a proper style statement this summer, and how to nail any summer suiting look.

Our first tip about wearing suits in summer: ditch the classic black and dark blue. There’s nothing wrong with the classics, but the lighter weather also gives you the opportunity to experiment with a wider range of styles and colours.
Van Heusen’s latest Black Label collection encapsulates a wide variety of hues but we’re a big fan of this light charcoal example. Crafted from premium Australian wool, it has a subtle check texture that differentiates it from your average suit. Wool is the perfect suit material for summer, as it’s light, breezy and soft.
Pair it with a light-coloured shirt and colourful tie – or ditch the button-down and rock a plain white T-shirt for a more casual look. Lighter-coloured suits like this one work just as well with black dress shoes as they do with a clean pair of white sneakers.

For a more retro look, try this brown suit. Brown suits used to be a bit of a punchline but with all things 70s coming back in vogue as we head into 2023, you’ll be well ahead of the curve if you opt for this number.
This linen blend suit features Van Heusen’s most contemporary slim fit, which tapers down through the waist and emphasises the chest, making for a sleek silhouette. The jacket is unstructured and half-lined, making it both versatile and comfortable.
Ditch the matching pants and just rock the blazer on its own with a shirt and chinos for a more sporting look… Or flip the script and wear the whole suit but pair it with a clean white singlet for impeccable casual vibes. Throw on some light brown Oxfords and a pair of sunnies and you’ll look like a million bucks.

No summer wardrobe is complete without a decent set of chinos. Whether you want to go casual and pair them with some sneakers and a tee, or if you want to split the difference with a blazer and a shirt, slim-cut chinos are an absolute must.
Van Heusen’s got you covered on this front, thankfully. Made from premium cotton with a subtle stretch, their chinos come in a wide variety of colours. Quality craftsmanship and robust materials mean you can roll them up with confidence – perfect for more relaxed settings – or leave them down for a more defined look, perfect with boots or dress shoes.
Soft and not too heavy, they won’t weigh you down this summer. Forgo the belt and tuck in your t-shirt for an assertive aesthetic, or pair your chinos with one of the brand’s many stylish business shirts (they are the number-one selling business shirt brand in department stores across Australia, after all) and a tie for a winning office look.

Summer is the perfect opportunity to try new things, impress people with your sartorial know-how and above all, have a bit of fun. It’s the season to make a statement!
Regardless of what your wardrobe needs, the events on your calendar or the statements you’re trying to make, Van Heusen has everything you need to put your best foot forward this summer. Modern, versatile and impeccably made, Van Heusen is your one-stop shop for style this summer.

Dr Andrew Huberman, speaking to Joe Rogan, recently shared how making yourself feel uncomfortable on the daily can help you quit harmful habits.
In the past we’ve had Wim Hof demonstrate how taking ice-baths can be so good for your mental health. Now we’ve got neuroscientist and Stanford professor Dr Andrew Huberman talking about how ice baths helped a guy quit cocaine. Speaking to Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience, Huberman referenced a September 2021 podcast Joe did with psychiatrist Anna Lembke.
WATCH: Andrew Huberman talks about a man quitting cocaine with the help of icebaths
“I’m kind of addicted to the benefits that I get,” Rogan said, telling Huberman about his ice bath and sauna habit. “That dopamine rise is real,” Huberman responds. “A woman you had on your podcast, Dr Anna Lembke, Dopamine Nation, she talked about a patient who was getting off of cocaine. He was feeling really low so he started using ice baths as a way to ween himself off… you can’t argue with a 2.5x increase in dopamine that’s long-lasting.”
“Big spikes of dopamine that crash, that’s bad… but 2,3,4 hour increases in dopamine,” Huberman goes on to say, can be quite beneficial.
RELATED: Joe Rogan Introduces Followers To Brand New Form Of Fitness Torture
Dr Lembke, speaking with Rogan, explained this in greater detail. She said: “What I actually recommend they [addicts] do, in addition to abstaining from their drug of choice, is to actually intentionally press on the pain side of the balance because then those neuro adaptation gremlins… hop on the pleasure side and ultimately can reset our pleasure pain pathways to the side of pleasure.”
In other words, when you deliberately do things that hurt, or that are difficult, shocking or intimidating, your body creates dopamine to make you feel better. Conversely, when you do (or take) things that make you instantly feel good and give you an artificial rush of dopamine, your body stops making/uptaking so much dopamine to compensate, ultimately making you feel worse.
Dr Lembke described addiction as a “bio psycho social disease” and said activities that give you longer-lasting dopamine spikes are less likely to lead to tolerance and addiction. That said, she still says it is possible to get addicted to these (usually) healthy activities.
Dr Lembke also warns that in our technology-saturated world there are a lot of “rat wheels” tempting us. She says almost everywhere we look there is something with the potential to put us in a dopamine-deficient state.
RELATED: I Tried David Goggins’ Craziest Fitness Advice. It Actually Worked
She says it’s not necessarily trauma or social inequality that make us ripe for addiction “but even when everything is ideal there are so many running wheels for cocaine and its equivalent… so we are all more vulnerable to addiction.” Instagram and TikTok, it seems, are just the beginning.
The remarks clearly resonated with listeners, with one Youtube user writing: “The addictive side of ice baths is definitely true; quite new to it but definitely look forward to it despite the pain!” Another wrote: “The worst addictions are the ones that give instant gratifications. There is no intense instant reward with an athlete getting up at 5 am to train, it’s the opposite, its delayed gratification, and that delayed gratification is not even a sure thing.”
“Athletes have the choice to train, True Addicts are so addicted to the instant reward that they become powerless in front of addiction… if they try to control it alone.”
Youtube user Antoine Vallaint
Another joked: “Hell yeah; Jordan’s addiction to winning is the same as my sitting around and smoking weed all day. Discipline.”
Speaking of which, some addictions are worse than others. So even though you need to be careful with ice baths and saunas (if you over do it you could end up “cold adapted” or “hot adapted”) they could – if done under supervision, and correctly – be great tools to help you get off another, more harmful addiction.
RELATED: Joe Rogan Shares Workout Advice To Make You Feel F**king Awesome
As Huberman says of ice baths, you eventually need to start doing things to make sure it’s still a stress stimulus. As he explains: “If you get really comfy you’re going to have to start making the water colder, shifting the water around, you can only make it so cold before you eventually have tissue damage but that’s a wide window.”
“That’s why heat is great but the upper threshold for it is as you mentioned, your throat starts hurting you’re actually burning tissue…. which is bad.”

The controversial British pundit has torn shreds out of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their new “tell-all” documentary series on Netflix, pointing out how some of the trailers deliberately mislead viewers.
Criticising the royal couple is one of Piers Morgan’s pet fixations, and naturally, he’s worked himself up into a lather after seeing the first trailer and first episodes of Harry & Meghan, the six-part series the couple have appeared in to tell “their side of the story” about their dramatic rift with the British royal family.
Morgan’s invective of the couple over the years has been relentless, and one is tempted to discount anything he says about the pair – but Morgan rightfully points out that some elements of the trailer are deliberately misleading.
“They’ve just put a lot of whoppers into their trailers… That’s before we even get to the main event,” Morgan said during an episode of his new TalkTV show, Piers Morgan Uncensored.
WATCH Piers Morgan’s criticism of Harry & Meghan below.
For example, an image used in the trailer of a pack of paparazzi, which is framed as if they were some of the paparazzi that hounded Meghan and Harry, was actually from the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 2011 – five years before the couple met, Morgan points out. That’s just one of many discrepancies.
He also criticises a line from the trailer where Meghan says “when the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us,” responding:
“What do you mean ‘when the stakes are this high’? Who do you think you are – other than a latte-munching imbecile, living in luxury in California while the rest of the world is in a cost-of-living crisis, moaning and whining about an institution which gave you the titles on which you now trade millions of dollars?”
Piers Morgan
We’re no fans of Piers Morgan but it’s hard to disagree with him. While no doubt Harry and particularly Meghan were done dirty by the royal family, their repeated attempts to ‘set the record straight’ in very high-profile, commercial fashion – all the while demanding privacy – is hard to wrap one’s head around.
We also tend to agree with him in his criticism of Meghan’s “high stakes” comment. All in all, the series feels more than a little tone-deaf. God, agreeing with Piers Morgan? We didn’t have that on our list of predictions for 2022…

Morgan isn’t the only critic of the new documentary series, either.
The Guardian’s Lucy Mangan – who is no fan of Piers Morgan, having levelled criticism at him many times over the years – has described the first three episodes of Harry & Meghan as “so sickening I almost brought up my breakfast” and suggests that it brings nothing new to the table, the audience left with “exactly the same story we always knew, told in the way we would expect to hear it from the people who are telling it.”
RELATED: Prince William Has Been Wearing The Same Watch For 30 Years
The Independent’s Jessie Thompson has also described the series as “intimate [and] self-aggrandizing”, while questioning some of the claims Meghan made about navigating royal protocol as rather hard to believe. After watching the first three episodes ourselves, we’d tend to agree.
Our verdict? It’s a shame that the show’s producers have taken such liberties with the imagery they’ve used, as they serve to undermine any valid points the Sussexes may have made in the show. They poison the well; it’s hard to 100% believe them when such deception is at foot.

Are the Sussexes really to blame for that? Hard to say. During a Variety interview, Meghan made a big point of saying that allowing director Liz Garbus to create the series meant that it “may not be the way we would have told [our story]… But that’s not why we’re telling it. We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens…”
Yet the original director attached to the project, Garrett Bradley, was given the flick due to “differences of opinion” with the couple… So it’s hard to tell just how much creative control/oversight the Sussexes’ camp had over the production.
Harry & Meghan is to be released in two volumes comprising six hour-long episodes. The first three episodes are currently available on Netflix, with the second volume arriving on the platform on December 15th.

Bali’s relaxed laws around alcohol and moped rental hiring have made Australians idolise it as a place where The Nanny State does not exist, and where they can drink moonshine liquor and get muffler burns in peace. But the other side of this coin is that people take risks they probably wouldn’t at home, as shown by a recent video…
A woman, likely a tourist, with no helmet and a leg in a cast has been spotted cruising around Bali on a moped. Meme connoisseur The Canggu Pole recently posted footage of the brave soul to their Instagram Story, where their 78.8k followers were able to feast their eyes on “Bali’s final boss.”
WATCH: woman cruises around Bali on scooter with no helmet and a leg in a cast
The woman’s decision to get on a scooter with no helmet and with a broken leg is made even wilder by the harrowing statistics on two-wheeled accidents in Indonesia. Not only are there the regular stories of Australians losing their limbs and suffering brain injuries in accidents but some people go as far as to claim 80% of Bali’s fatal road accidents are motorbike users.
It’s not just “Bali’s final boss” who is happy to cast off on a moped with little fear of grim consequences. Another recent video of an Aussie man holding up traffic by doing burnouts outside a club on a scooter prompted the Internet to label him a “kook” and call for a “mandatory Tourist Visa IQ Test.”
Oh, and there was of course the guy that went arse over sneakers after losing control of his scooter, too, prompting The Canggu Pole to write: “This is why you shouldn’t ride a scooter in Bali…esp if you have no clue how.”
The guy, fortunately, ended up ok, although the bike didn’t. In other Bali-related news, the Indonesian government just passed a controversial bonk ban – which (though it could take three years to come into effect), has a lot of tourists concerned about how it might affect their bedroom activities.
Unmarried couples can only be prosecuted, however, if they’re reported by a spouse, parents or their children. As Professor Simon Butt, Director of the Centre for Asian and Pacific Law at the University of Sydney explains, “[The code] would be applicable to tourists… [But] it is unlikely, in practice, to affect tourists travelling to Indonesia, provided that no such complaints are made to Indonesian police.”

TV and film adaptations of video games have traditionally failed to capture the heart or spectacle of their source material… But if our first look at the series is anything to go by, HBO’s The Last of Us might just do the impossible: be an actually good video game TV adaptation.
For those unfamiliar with the game, The Last of Us is/was a 2013 high-budget action-adventure game where players control Joel, a tortured smuggler and survivalist who finds himself escorting a teenage girl, Ellie, across the post-apocalyptic former United States.
Set two decades after an outbreak of a mutant Cordyceps fungus, which transforms its human hosts into aggressive creatures known as the Infected, it’s a zombie game, but not as you know it.
Widely acclaimed and considered one of the best video games of all time, The Last of Us is beloved by gamers not only for its exceptional gameplay but also for the way it raised the bar when it came to storytelling and acting in games.
In short, it’s got some pretty big shoes to fill. But it looks as if HBO’s up to the task, enlisting the skills of Pedro Pascal – star of some of the most popular TV series in recent memory, including Game of Thrones, Narcos and The Mandalorian – to take up the mantle of Joel, as well as a number of big-name stars and what looks like a very healthy production budget.
WATCH the trailer for The Last of Us below.
The other two big names on board for the project include Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, The Worst Witch) as Ellie and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, We’re the Millers) as Bill. Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who portrayed Ellie and Joel via mo-cap in the games, will also cameo in the series, as will Merle Dandridge, who will reprise her role as Marlene.
Filmed in Alberta, The Last of Us is said to be the largest television production in Canadian history and easily one of HBO’s most lavish productions, with some sources reporting that the per-episode budget is as much as US$15 million. It is known that Pascal is getting a rather tidy $600,000 per episode, making him one of the highest-paid TV stars on the planet.
RELATED: Aaron Taylor-Johnson Apparently Chosen To Play The Next James Bond
Fan’s reactions to the trailer have been universally positive, with the casting of Pascal and Ramsey receiving particular praise.
“Ellie’s sarcasm, Joel’s indifference, the Clickers, a Bloater [referring to two of the variants of Infected humans you encounter in the game as enemies], traversing rooftops with boards… It’s just like the game,” one fan commented on YouTube.

Fans have been quick to notice that many of the subtle details in the trailer “tell us that people who know the game well have worked on the series,” which is a good sign – but also applaud how showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have also not been afraid to make subtle changes to the game’s story in order to better fit the TV format.
Again, we don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves just yet. It’s just a trailer, after all. But all signs point to The Last of Us being an absolute blockbuster of a show – and it might just break the stigma that video game adaptations are doomed to be failures (and, going even further, might help legitimise video games as an art form).
The series is set to debut on HBO Max on January 15, 2023. Watch this space.
