Finnish F1 Legend Shares ‘Viking’ Secret Behind Succeeding In Life
Finnish F1 Legend Shares ‘Viking’ Secret Behind Succeeding In Life

Finland is a country of serial overachievers.

Despite having a population of just over 5.5 million, the tiny Nordic country has had an outsized influence on the world. From companies like Nokia and Kone to inventions such as ice skates, Linux, SMS and of course the sauna, the Finns are an industrious bunch.

But their most impressive export isn’t indestructible mobile phones or day spas: it’s athletes. Name a sport and the Finns have had a world champion in it: athletics, track and field, ice hockey, shooting, motorsports… It’s the latter they’re best known for, with drivers like Tommi Mäkinen, JJ Lehto, Kimi Räikkönen and Keke Rosberg all hailing from Finland. It’s perhaps not surprising that motorsports is the field in which Finns really shine, as the sport requires a certain type of tenacity that the Finns are culturally disposed to having.

It’s called sisu – a term that eludes easy translation into English. Variously described as bravery, stoicism, toughness or ‘guts’ – with a heaping of craziness, or a never-may-die attitude – it’s a form of resilience that’s considered culturally unique to Finland.

Perhaps the poster child for where sisu can take you is Valtteri Bottas: nine-time Formula One Grand Prix winner and current world #2 driving for Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1, Bottas is yet another ‘Flying Finn’ dominating world sports.

Cool, tactical and tenacious, he’s an exciting driver to watch… And a really nice guy to chat with, it turns out. DMARGE had the opportunity to sit down with Bottas late last year during the Formula One World Championship and pick his brain, and indeed, Bottas suggests sisu is the secret sauce behind Finns’ success.

“The mentality of Finns, in general, is particularly good for [motorsports],” he elaborates, “because you really need to stay calm, even in the most difficult situations; keep yourself in control mentally; have determination.”

It’s this determination that’s seen him rise to the top of his sport, as well as in his personal life: when he’s not burning rubber on the world’s fastest circuits, he’s an ambassador for world-renowned luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen, an accomplished cyclist and has even set up his own tourism company, the Valtteri Bottas Experience.

RELATED: The Best IWC Schaffhausen Watches To Buy In 2021

The other factor Bottas points is that he and other Finns have benefitted from having plenty of role models to look up to – in many ways, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

“It has helped me that there’s always been heroes to look up to. For me, that was Mika Häkkinen, who did so well in the 90s… But there’s always been heroes; people you want to be in the future.”

Indeed, it’s Häkkinen who first introduced the concept of sisu to the wider motorsports community, the typically understated former Formula One World Champion describing the concept to James May during a 2008 episode of Top Gear, as “the Finnish courage,” elaborating:

“Let me give you an example. Climbing a tree and jumping down from there, that doesn’t mean sisu… you need courage to be able to brake late, to go on the throttle really early, to go really close to the apex of the corners.”

Here at DMARGE, we’ve talked before about how we need to rethink our relationship with ‘resilience’ as well as how important ‘getting gritty’ can be for our mental health. Despite its quintessentially Finnish nature, it’s a character trait that more of us ought to pay attention to, as it could be the hidden secret to success in life. The importance of cultivating worthy role models – people who show determination, quiet inner fortitude and skill without looking to brag – is also something that we ought to learn from Bottas and other Finns, too.

Reflecting on his 2020 F1 season, which saw him nab 2 first places and 11 podiums, Bottas was characteristically modest. That’s that sisu again.

“How do I feel about 2020? It’s been kind of mixed. Obviously, I’ve got a couple of wins and some losses, but if I look at the points standings it is not what I aimed for, for the season. But there’s been many positives. Overall some good improvements within myself in terms of my race pace… my performance is getting better. It’s just many fine details… I also don’t feel that luck has been on my side. But overall, it’s been good. I tend to look at the positive things.”

Bottas will be rejoining teammate Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 for the 2021 Formula One World Championship, which is set to kick off with the Bahrain Grand Prix on the 28th of March.

Terry Crews’ Unbelievable Physique Sets Bar Unfairly High For Older Men
Terry Crews’ Unbelievable Physique Sets Bar Unfairly High For Older Men

Terry Crews in the news…. Instagram feeds are continuously flooded with images of young semi-naked guys posing for pictures in the gym mirrors, their bathroom mirrors, or having their partner take a ‘not-candid’ candid photo of them looking longingly into the distance of some picturesque background, all for the purpose of showing off their dedicated to lifting weights and drinking protein shakes.

But while such images may be subject to criticism, or may even serve as inspiration for other youngsters wanting to turn their life around and better their health and fitness, what can be said for the slightly older generation? After all, just because the biological clock tends to start wreaking havoc on the body as we get older, it’s not impossible to counteract the sands of time and maintain a healthy figure.

High-profile celebrities such as The Rock and Mark Wahlberg are living proof of that statement, but one man in particular blows them all out the water. Yes, we’re talking about Terry Crews.

The former NFL linebacker turned comedy actor naturally had to build an impressive physique for his American football playing days. But now, Terry, at the age of 52 and since hanging up the boots and turning his hand to acting, his body shows no signs of shrinking down.

Case in point: a recent video Crews posted to his Instagram account of him on an exercise bike, with the caption “Sunday Cardio”.

While it’s not as quite an in-dept workout video compared to those we’ve seen from The Rock and Mark Wahlberg, it clearly shows Crews still has an unbelievable physique for a man of his age, proving to be an inspiration for older gentlemen everywhere.

A post shared by Terry Crews (@terrycrews)

The video has received several comments, including some from the likes of Bear Grylls, “Man myth legend!”, and fellow muscle mountain Kai Greene, who says,

“Damn Boy ! Where is the body fat ?? If my body fat was that low . I would be getting ready to make some kind of sports changing announcement .”

Other comments include:

“Terry Crews chest muscles have chest muscles”

“Simply amazing shape”

and

“This mf out here just discovering new muscles doctors never knew about.”

Crews has had the advantage of a fitness-orientated career, but what about the Average Joe who’s a member of the 50 club? How can they stay fit? DMARGE spoke to Heath Jones, Director of the Active & Ageless Over 50s Club, to find out.

Heath begins by telling us, “As we age the way we view and experience training changes. It is now not so much about training harder, it’s about training smarter.”

“I find a lot of people move into their more mature years and solely concentrate on activities that predominantly focus on cardiovascular fitness. These activities tend to be things like walking, tennis, swimming and bike riding.”

“This is a fantastic form of exercise. However, we are only targeting one facet of fitness.”

“Strength and mobility as we age is absolutely paramount if a person wants to lead a good quality of life well into their later years. By having good levels of strength and mobility we are able to perform daily activities safely and effectively.”

“Some of the biggest challenges that are faced as we age is the undoing of poor habits that have become routine for previous decades. These bad habits can lead to things such as poor biomechanics and muscular imbalances. These issues can result in an increased risk of injury, poor dietary habits and an adherence to exercise.”

“Training, particularly as we age, should be focused more to the movement of the exercise as opposed to aesthetically on the size of the muscle. For example, in an exercise routine, instead of doing a bicep curl, we can include a bicep curl to press.”

“An example of an individual muscular split session could be Monday – chest, Tuesday – legs, Wednesday – back etc. Instead of this style of training a full body circuit should be completed 3-4 times per week.”

“It is now recommended that healthy older adults should train 3 or 4 times weekly”

We imagine Crews trains at least once everyday. But hey, baby steps.

Justin Bieber Lives Out His Fisherman Fantasies With $870 Gumboots
Justin Bieber Lives Out His Fisherman Fantasies With $870 Gumboots

Following Justin Bieber‘s endlessly revolving wardrobe is a wild ride. One that sometimes we’d like to get off, but we continue to find ourselves strapping in for.Footwear in particular seems to be his kryptonite. The man has an insatiable appetite for rubber clogs: he’s absolutely obsessed with Crocs – “the footwear contraceptive for men” – as well as these bizarre Yeezys. Now, we used to think this was all him, but turns out he’s got some enablers, with the 27-year-old music superstar showing off a birthday present that’s taken him further down the rubber footwear rabbit hole.‘The Biebs’ shared a photo from his Paris hotel room on Thursday showing himself trying on a pair of Bottega Veneta ‘Puddle Boots’ worth a cool $870. The designer gumboots, which feature a Chelsea boot-esque pattern and are constructed from a biodegradable polymer, actually don’t look too bad – although we don’t know if we’d ever spend that sort of money on a pair of wellies, let alone a pair of wellies for someone else. Who’s feeding his addiction?

Unfortunately for Bieber, wearing them alongside that cable knit sweater and beanie he’s got on makes him just look like the world’s richest fisherman. Talk about The Deadliest Catch.RELATED: Bradley Cooper Tames New York’s Urban Jungle With Wild ‘Lumbersexual’ LookApart from doing a bang-up fisherman impression, it seems as if Bieber’s Beatles impression isn’t too shabby either. ‘The Biebs’ was spotted performing with his band on the roof of the Hotel de Crillon on Tuesday, à la the British band’s final live performance atop the Apple Records building at Savile Row in 1969. Very rock and roll.

It’s not clear whether or not this Parisian performance is for a music video, but it’s a likely bet. Bieber’s been releasing some seriously slick music videos lately…Last week, Bieber announced that his sixth studio album Justice was almost done, and due to be released on March 19th. He’s already released four singles from the album: Holy and Lonely last year; Anyone on New Year’s Day this year; and Hold On only yesterday, alongside a slick music video that sees Bieber engage in a thrilling motorcycle escape from police. You can watch the clip here.

$900 ‘Abused’ Sneakers The New Normal For Australian Luxury Consumers
$900 ‘Abused’ Sneakers The New Normal For Australian Luxury Consumers

Luxury sneakers have become big business. Not only do the big sportswear brands like Adidas, Nike and New Balance started to offer ‘luxury’ versions of their mass-market sneakers – models made with premium materials or in countries like England or Italy – but even the traditional luxury brands have got in on the game, with fashion houses such as Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton centring entire campaigns around their sneaker lines.Ten years ago, most Australians would have scoffed at the prospect of spending hundreds if not thousands on sneakers. Now, it’s become normalised – or at least, not out of the ordinary. But a new trend’s emerged among Australian luxury consumers that even the most open-minded average Aussie might find somewhat strange: the rise of ‘pre-abused’ luxury sneakers.Designers like Gucci, Maison Margiela and Rick Owens have started selling sneakers that are pre-worn or distressed from the factory. Think hand-applied scuff marks, frayed fabric, stained laces or deliberate imperfections. Italian brand Golden Goose is perhaps the most notable proponent of this trend: virtually all Golden Goose sneakers come ‘pre-distressed’ from the factory. But the idea of spending hundreds – if not thousands – on sneakers that look like they were found in a tip? It’s quite a controversial look. Indeed, we put it to our Instagram audience, using a pair of Golden Goose White Limited Edition LAB Stardan sneakers that retail for $890 as an example. The results were pretty clear: they’re not a fan. So why are more and more Australian luxury consumers getting in on this trend?

A pretty emphatic response.
It’s partially about individuality. Distressed sneakers, even those that come from the factory distressed, look and feel more ‘unique’ than a pair of unmolested sneakers. Of course, sneakers will develop their own character as they’re worn, but what’s wrong with speeding up the process?Ask most sneakerheads, and they’ll say some sneakers like white Nike Air Force 1s or Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars actually look better when they’re a bit worn. A more Australian example of this school of thought has to do with the classic R.M. Williams Craftsman boot: wearing pristine RMs is considered a real faux pas; they’re not respectable until they’re broken in.RELATED: Trailblazing Australian Weatherman Takes ‘R.M. Williams & A Suit’ To New HeightsHell, the trend’s popularity in Australia be might be a byproduct of the ‘tall poppy syndrome’ that permeates Australian culture. We don’t as readily celebrate wealth as other cultures do. Indeed, wearing designer brands is more likely to attract scorn than praise. So maybe wearing distressed luxury goods makes you look more lowkey? ‘Fake it till you make it’, we suppose. The idea of selling ‘factory distressed’ goods is nothing new. Guitar makers have been doing it for years: selling electric guitars with deliberately faded paint and vintage-spec hardware in order to aesthetically emulate (and in some instances, sonically emulate) genuinely ‘road-worn’ guitars. But fashion is a whole other ball game: unlike guitars, there’s no ‘practical’ benefit to owning distressed sneakers. The opposite, if anything. Some critics of the trend have said that it glamorises or trivialises poverty. Others think it’s just trashy – pun entirely intended.

We wonder what the go is with reselling distressed sneakers, though. Normally you can only sell mint condition sneakers on the big marketplaces like StockX or at consignment stores, but how can you tell with Golden Gooses (Geese?)Much to ponder.

It’s Still Possible To Get Ripped On A Plant Based Diet. Here’s How
It’s Still Possible To Get Ripped On A Plant Based Diet. Here’s How

The world is becoming a more conscious place with each passing year. Whether it be large-scale companies cutting down on their carbon emissions, families understanding the difference recycling can make, or individuals choosing to cut down  – either partially or entirely – on their reliance on animals for their diet, there is hope on the horizon on Mother Earth. That last part is especially true. You’ll now be hard pressed to find any town or suburb that doesn’t offer some sort of vegan food option for the conscious consumer. In Australia’s Byron Bay, for example, you’re almost made to feel like an outcast if you choose to consume meat. And, perhaps surprisingly, even America is making the effort to switch, with Plant Proteins claiming some 6 per cent of the country has gone vegan. However, for those looking to build muscle, the general consensus has always suggested we need to consume large quantities of food, encompassing good-quality protein. This is far easier to find in lean meats such as beef, turkey, kangaroo and chicken. So, what if you choose to go vegan yet want to stay strong? Is it possible? We’ve already seen how ultra-marathon runner Rich Roll has managed to keep himself in tip top shape on a vegan diet, despite being middle-aged. But we’re talking about real strength here, the bodybuilder type. Can these athletes obtain the results they crave on a diet of fruits, vegetables and carbohydrates? One man who says it most-definitely is possible is Jake Carter, a fitness coach who has immersed himself in research and reading to increase his knowledge on all things nutrition, mindset, body composition and strength & conditioning, so that he can provide trusted, reliable advice and information. So if you were a doubter, and laughed at anyone who said they were vegan, yet wanted to lift big, listen up.Jake admits that plant-based diets naturally lack the nutrients required to make serious gains. But that’s not to say you can’t make up for this deficiency with the help of supplements and choosing the right foods.

“When discussing a plant-based diet, it is largely known that such a regimented diet can lead to a short-fall of nutrients along with a compromise to health.”

One of the most important nutrients you’ll need to become accustomed with is creatine. “Creatine is a nutrient which is abundant in red meat, but deficit in most plant-based foods”, says Jake. However, he adds, “A study showed that vegetations supplementing creatine experienced an increase of 2.4kg in lean tissue mass, versus an increase of only 1.9kg for non-vegetarians on creatine.” Score 1 for the vegetarians.“Vegetarian subjects who supplemented with creatine demonstrated an increase in 1 rep-max bench press from 85kg to 101kg, which is greater than the subjects in the placebo group, who increased from 76.4kg to 85kg.”As we mentioned earlier, protein is vital for building muscle, something you don’t readily find in plant-based foods. “Typically speaking, plant-based protein sources have less leucine (between 6-8%), when compared with animal-based protein sources (>10%),” Jake relates.“Leucine is an amino acid derived from protein, which is the building block that initiates functions throughout the body.”

“It is the ‘on-switch’ which helps the body utilise protein, and it’s often documented that 2.3g-3g is required to optimise muscle protein synthesis.”

To counteract the lower protein levels compared with animal-based sources, Jake suggests vegans and vegetarians consume foods such as adzuki beans, lentils, navy beans and mung beans. Around 1.5g of each of these can make up for the natural lack of essential amino acids.DMARGE wanted to find out if there were, however, any inherent risks with going plant-based – because, as we’ve seen before, just because it’s vegan, doesn’t mean it’s naturally good for you – and with access to a reliable source of information, posed the question to Jake.He admits that yes, there are some possible risks to be aware of. These include:

  • Nutrient deficiencies ranging from creatine, choline, amino acids (carnitine, carnosine, taurine), specific vitamins (retinol, B12), and minerals (iron and zinc)
  • Studies have shown there is a 30% higher risk of bone fractures compared to meat-eaters, although this can be overcome with an increase in calcium intake of around 525mg per day
  • Low availability of complete-profile proteins which are required to repair and function optimally from the body
  • Increased consumption of possible ‘anti-nutrients’ such as oxalates, physic acid, lectins, wheat and gluten. ‘Anti-nutrients’ is a loose term, as some may provide a small but notable health benefit to specific groups of people.
  • An increase of fibre intake – although, while Jake and industry professionals such as Max Lugavere relate too much fibre can be potentially damaging, Jake refers to several studies that show no correlation between high fibre and potentially fatal side effects such as colorectal cancer and constipation.

We also wanted to know if taking supplements could be considered ‘healthy’, or if those on plant-based diets had no other choice but to take them because of the natural lack of nutrients in their food.Jake says “there is a discussion of whether taking supplements to overcome the deficiencies from following dietary behaviour is deemed unhealthy or not.”“Unfortunately, due to the modern-day farming practices, the nutrient content available is dramatically falling in which deficiencies are becoming stronger and stronger across the board, despite the diet.”“Which, when following a strict and selective diet, places even more stress on the quality of the food, whilst also requiring a greater level of accuracy towards food selection to ensure key nutrients are consumed.”To explain what that food selection would look like, Jake provided DMARGE with an example meal plan for someone on a plant-based (vegan) diet, which supports hypertrophy for a 70kg person, and “with a focus on real foods as opposed to reliance on different protein powders.”Jake adds, “The plant-based diet provides a very selfless approach to the eco-system when it comes to the wellbeing of animals, and despite an array of health consequences being at risk when adhering to the regime, it does not necessarily outweigh this factor.”“This is dependent purely on the individual’s ethical and moral lens.”

Machine Gun Kelly & Megan Fox Have Better Taste In Cars Than You Think

It makes sense that Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are dating – they’re both celebrities who’ve consistently been written off their entire careers by naysayers.Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) has long been clowned for his status as a white rapper and his polarising transition from hip-hop to pop-punk and rap-rock since his last album. Megan Fox’s status as a modern sex symbol has made her the brunt of a huge amount of criticism, misogyny and public scrutiny. To many, they’re walking symbols of bad taste; objects of ridicule; trashy. But it’s a reputation neither of them deserves. Indeed, far from being trashy, they’ve both actually got exceptional taste – one only has to look to their choice of automobiles to realise that they’re not quite the lowest common denominators they’ve been made out to be by the media.Take this crisp, custom purple Aston Martin DB11 the pair were spotted heading home in after a night at cult Los Angeles restaurant Nobu earlier this week. Now that’s one classy whip.

First introduced in 2016 as a replacement for the venerable DB9, the DB11 is one of the most exciting and beautiful grand tourers on the market. Powered by a monstrous 5.2L twin-turbocharged V12, the DB11 makes 447kW, does 0-100 in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 322km/h – all while cosseting its passengers in the finest British sporting luxury. MGK’s DB11 was actually stolen late last year from the rapper’s driveway. Luckily, the LAPD was able to return the car to him in under a week. This Aston’s not the only classy motor MGK owns: his collection also includes a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé as well as a bright yellow 1979 Chevy Camaro that’s prominently featured in the music video for his 2018 single LOCO.RELATED: I Was Chauffeured To Work In The Latest Rolls-Royce & It’s Ruined Me For LifeFox herself is the proud owner of a rather fine car collection – you’d expect nothing less from a star of the Transformers franchise. Her pride and joy is a Mercedes-Benz CLS 55 AMG, but she’s also got a BMW 535d and a G-Wagen in the garage. No Hummers to be found anywhere, people.Cars aside, we’re just glad the pair seem happy. Leave Britney Alone and all that.MGK recently released a film titled Downfalls High, a “first of its kind musical film experience” that complements his fifth studio album, Tickets To My Downfall. The ambitious, almost 50min-long project stars Chase Hudson and DMARGE fave Sydney Sweeney – you can watch it in full on YouTube.

Wild American Off-Road Vehicle Trend More Aussies Should Be Embracing
Wild American Off-Road Vehicle Trend More Aussies Should Be Embracing

Australians love a bit of off-road action – now more than ever. With leaving the country an impossibility thanks to The Spicy Cough, many Aussies have instead invested the money and time they’d otherwise have spent on overseas trips on buying or upgrading their cars. Performance bits, van conversions and of course, off-road modifications are being seen more and more often on Australian roads. But some car lovers have taken this trend of COVID car off-road mods and really ran with it – leading to all sorts of insane off-road builds like the Mad Max-ready Audi RS4 Avant pictured above or this Lamborghini Aventador with tank tracks. It’s called ‘safari-ing’ your car: turning cars that were never designed to go off-road into trail-capable, apocalypse-ready beasts. It’s a phenomenon best encapsulated by the Facebook group Safari All The Cars, where like-minded automotive enthusiasts share how they’ve ‘safaried’ everyday vehicles. When it comes to safari-ing, the more incongruous the car, the better. Mud tires and a lifted suspension for a Lexus LS400? Turning a Honda Civic into a beach buggy? The sky’s the limit. Other popular candidates for modification include the Volkswagen New Beetle, Mazda MX-5s and the venerable Fiat Panda.

While ‘safari-ing’ cars isn’t purely a 2020/2021 trend, it’s really over the last twelve months that it’s really taken off. More to the point, it seems to be a rather American phenomenon, with Australian or European enthusiasts thin among the safari-ing community’s ranks. It makes sense that there are less Europeans getting on board the trend. Car modification rules in countries such as Belgium or Germany are incredibly strict – many of the things that Americans can get away with, like raising a car’s suspension with spacers or even affixing light bars to your car, are totally illegal there. While (legally) modifying your car in Australia is hardly a walk in the park, it’s much easier here than it is in Europe. We’re also blessed with an abundance of cool places to go off-roading and a wide variety of cars locally to turn into off-road beasts. So what gives?RELATED: Secret To Finding ‘Diamond In The Rough’ Classic & Second Hand Cars In AustraliaMaybe Aussies are just too scared to put an angle grinder to their whips because it’ll ruin their resale value. Although, as it turns out, safari-ing your car can actually increase its value. Take this 2007 Porsche 911 Carerra, which saw its value quadruple after it was tastefully safari modded – much more than the sum of its parts. All we’ll say is that with the prices of local 4×4 favourites like the Land Rover Defender and Suzuki Jimny absolutely skyrocketing, maybe it’s time more Aussies turn to alternative avenues for getting our high-octane fix.Anyone wanna help me put skid plates on my Ford Probe?

Bizarre Men’s Grooming Trend Divides The Internet’s Watch Lovers
Bizarre Men’s Grooming Trend Divides The Internet’s Watch Lovers

As a man, there are some types of hair that are considered more societally acceptable to shave than others. Shaving your face? No big deal. Shaving your head? Go for it. Shaving your, ahem, crown jewels? It’s more normal than you might think. But then there are other parts of the body where depilation is considered rather taboo, at least by society at large. Swimmers and cyclists have long been the butt of jokes for their proclivity towards shaving their legs and arms, and any dude who decides to shave his armpits is considered a bit of a weirdo. But there’s one incredibly niche grooming habit we’ve seen more and more men online: wrist shaving. It’s mostly something that watch fans do so that when they upload photos of their latest timepiece to social media, their arm hair doesn’t obscure or detract from the watch. It’s not just an aesthetic consideration either, as arm/wrist hair can get caught in between the links of watch bracelets and become quite a painful experience, as this Rolex forums thread from 2013 discusses. The problem with shaving your wrists? You get wrist stubble. And it can look pretty gnarly.

You can file this one under ‘photos you can feel’. Image: Reddit
The real question is this: what’s more offputting, seeing dudes (and it’s usually dudes) with hairless or stubbly wrists post watch photos, or dudes with ape-like arm hair? It’s a debate that’s been raging for ages, with some watch fans defending the practice and others highly sceptical of anyone who advocates shaving their wrists.Take this discussion on Watchuseek, rather relevantly titled PLEASE! No More Hairy, Ape Like Wrist Shots! The thread contains a diversity of opinions on the matter: while one Australian commenter bluntly says you definitely should “shave your arms before you take the wrist shot,” others hold quite the opposite view.“I’ll take hairy arms over arm/wrist shots with ‘stubble’… Get back in the shower and do your manscaping. Personally, I can’t even imagine what that feels like growing back,” one muses, perfectly demonstrating the problem at hand (pun entirely intended). Another put it this way:

“Would you post such a complaint about underweight or overweight people and their arms? Get over your personal issues and enjoy the watches.”

The holy trinity of watch crimes: awful watch, tacky bracelet, and a wrist absolutely peppered with stubble. Image: Ready To Go
One American commenter hilariously quipped, “my wife makes fun of me because my arms aren’t hairy enough to be into watches.” Touché.RELATED: 60 Second Rolex Hack Every Watch Lover Should TryAt the end of the day, people should be allowed to feel comfortable grooming themselves however they see fit – and conversely, shouldn’t be shamed for their natural body hair. All we’ll say is that if you’re going to shave your wrists, use an epilator or a bit of post-shave balm in order to reduce irritation. No-one wants to see a rashy wrist.
