Qantas have today announced the arrival of their next generation Premium Economy seats penned by leading Australian designer, David Caon.
The upmarket feel and look to the latest seats are now more defined than ever with tanned leather inserts on the fold down foot rests and tray. The elegant colours further adorn the panels to drastically push the Premium Economy seats to aesthetics never before experienced on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
A total of 28 seats will be allocated to the Premium Economy class on the Qantas Dreamliner flights in a two-three layout in order to maximise aisle access for middle seat passengers.
A closer look at the numbers will reveal the seats are now 10 percent wider than the flying kangaroo’s current Premium Economy offering whilst the range of recline also increases to accommodate taller passengers. Final changes worth noting include a headrest which comes with a telescoping option to attain the ideal sleeping position for long haul journeys.
In the legroom department Qantas have equipped the seats with a fully customisable foot rest which can be adjusted to any position. Stretching the pins is now possible without leaving your seat thanks to a foot hammock which sits further back in the foot well.
In-flight entertainment is taken care of with a revamped screen from Panasonic which is now 25 percent larger than previous models and comes equipped with a wider swivel angle and a handy slot for tablets. Every seat also affords itself two USB charging ports and shared AC power. Rounding out the latest seats nicely is a bevy of storage compartments – there’s five in total for both bottled drinks and personal goods.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce helped launch the new seats and said that they definitely sport some serious “wow factor”.
“You have to experience how well it supports you when you recline to realise it’s completely different anything else in its class.”
David Caon who headed the design of the seats says that everything has his team’s own personal touch. “We designed the fabrics, the laminates to this shape, the level of pearlescence has all been bespoke created.”
“You’re creating something that’s between business and economy so it has to be aspirational.”
The first of eight Qantas Dreamliners featuring the new Premium Economy seats will be delivered in October this year with flights taking place between Melbourne and Los Angeles and Perth and London.

Your favourite photo-sharing app is taking the carousel out of the theme park and putting it into your hand. With the latest Instagram update, the company has unveiled a feature that had been teased since the last Android beta release: gallery posts.
Instagram announced the launch on the company blog.
“With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember,” says the post. “Now, you can combine up to 10 photos and videos in one post and swipe through to see them all.”
These multi-photo posts function as carousel-style slideshows. On a profile grid, gallery posts are marked with a new ombré icon that indicates there’s more to see. In feed, four blue dots across the bottom of the post let you know you can swipe to see more.
To create your own gallery, upload a photo or video as you normally would, then tap the new icon in the bottom right-hand corner to add additional photos and videos. Rearrange the images by tapping and holding each one as you move it into the desired order. The one you put first is the one that will appear in your grid.
You can tag and edit each image individually, or tap any filter along the bottom of the slideshow to apply it to all images at once. Note that any location tag or caption you add will apply to the entire slideshow, as will the number of likes and comments. All imagery must be in the square format.
If you think the feature looks familiar, you’re right. Slideshows have been available to advertisers for a while, but not to the rest of the general ‘gramming public. The reaction was mixed when rumours of the new gallery tool popped up earlier this month, so it will be interesting to see how it fares (particularly with all the photo sharing that’s bound to happen at the upcoming Academy Awards).
You can watch the new Instagram update in action in the video below.

The new season of Formula One is about to kick off and one of the latest teams to unveil their car is French outfit, Renault Sport.
Officially named R.S.17, the race car will be the new season contender to feature some of the most radical advancements to the Formula One game in the past decade.
Wider tyres, wilder aero work and a new special advisor in the form of four-time world champion and ex-racer Alain Prost should ensure that the Renault team reach their goals of a top five finish in 2017.
The current car’s livery sports a serious killer-bee look which should delight Renault’s purist fans whilst adding an ominous feel to the entire package.
French watchmaker Bell & Ross have also continued their partnership from last year with the hopes of capitalising on a team which many believe have great potential of reaching the pointy end of the field. Their latest BR03-94 RS17 timepiece can be seen in the gallery.
Speaking of the upcoming season, Cyril Abiteboul who is the Renault Sport Racing Managing Director said: “We are aiming for fifth in the constructors’ championship and it’s clear that to achieve this we need to be scoring points regularly. This is a target for the team collectively, and the drivers individually.
“In terms of our drivers, Nico [Hulkenberg] joins us with a lot of experience and talent. We expect him to deliver from day one and we are confident this will be the case. Jolyon [Palmer] had a strong rookie season where he developed and performed well and we expect the natural continuation of this.”
“Both drivers should complement each other and the team should flourish with this pairing. 2017 will be the second season of what is a long term plan. We are not expecting miracles overnight, but we are clear on where we ultimately want to be.”
The first round of Formula One 2017 officially kicks off in Melbourne on the 26th of March.

A cookie here, a candy bar there, a Red Bull to speed through the mid-afternoon slump, and oh look, someone brought doughnuts to the office!
It’s no secret that kicking the sugar habit is essential to optimal health. While an occasional treat can be good for the soul, regularly smashing sugary snacks and beverages wreaks havoc on your body. The hard part is figuring out how to tame the sugar monster, particularly when companies seem to get sneakier and sneakier about slipping it into their products.
Start by avoiding obvious sources of the sweet stuff (like sodas and desserts), and focusing on eating whole, recognisable foods. Then up your game by trying these tips for limiting added sugar.
Remodel Your Mornings
Parents around the world proclaim that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet countless people turn their morning feed into a lethal sugar bomb. Cereals – even the kinds that don’t come in colourful boxes with toys inside – top the list of offenders. Other culprits include fruit juices, jams and jellies, flavoured oatmeals, and pastries. Nix the brekkie carbs and simple sugars in favour of proteins, healthy fats, and whole fruits.
Switch Up Your Snacks
Sugar is the ultimate stow away. That sweet little rascal worms its way into countless snack foods, even ones that market themselves as healthy. Replace bars and chews with savoury snacks like nuts, jerky, and dried fruits (but be sure to check the labels for added sugar before you buy). Pack snacks ahead of time so you’re never tempted to cheat with candy or sugar-laden ‘energy’ bars.

Get Discerning About Dairy
Ice cream isn’t the only dairy that could be decimating your abs. Plenty of dairy foods that are touted as ‘healthy’ options are loaded with sly sugars. Beware of sweetened milks (both dairy and non-dairy) and yoghurts, especially low-fat versions which are often bolstered with extra sugar to improve taste in the absence of fat.
Learn To Read Labels
Nutritional labels post total sugar in foods and beverages, but don’t specify how much is natural and how much is added. It’s up to you to get educated on which ingredients are code names for sneaky sugar. Anything that ends in -ose (fructose, dextrose, glucose, sucrose) is a sweetener. There’s also corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, corn sweetener, and fruit juice concentrates, as well as things that sound like they could be healthier alternatives, like molasses, honey, and maple syrup.
Up Healthy Fat And Protein Intake
Yes, you should eat your veggies, and yes, you can still eat carbs, but you should bulk up on protein and healthy fats to ensure you stay full and provide balanced energy. Staying satisfied and energised is key to avoiding blood-sugar swings and the temptation to give in to a quick sugar fix.

Supreme have once again proved there’s no brand better at causing chaos.
Earlier this month, the streetwear superstars announced they would be collaborating with the New York City MTA on a branded subway card as part of their 2017 Spring/Summer Accessories line. The Supreme MetroCards officially went on sale yesterday, and like every Supreme drop, they’ve created pandemonium amongst loyalists.
The MTA announced the cards were on sale only at select machines in a handful of stations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. You can pick one up in Manhattan at Broadway-Lafayette, Prince Street, Spring Street, Union Square, or 125th Street. In Brooklyn, you’ll find the cards at Atlantic Avenue or Marcy Avenue. Queens-based fans can head to Queens Plaza.
The Supreme MetroCards retail for $5.50 instead of the standard $1.00, and come preloaded with two subway rides. That is, if you can get one at all. Subway stations were flooded yesterday with hypebeasts hoping to get their hands on the most coveted accessory in urban transportation, confusing tourists and making regular commuters even crankier than usual.
Neither Supreme nor the MTA have announced how many cards are available, but if you aren’t lucky enough to score one in person, dozens are already up for resale on eBay.
Other unusual accessories from the SS17 line include a CT200u Mini Bike, bar stools, a money gun, curtains, measuring tape, and matches.
Should you feel the urge to express surprise at the stunt, remember this: Supreme once sold a brick that resold for $1000.

We’re not going to sugar coat it. Sydney has become a rather laughable global “city” ever since the lockout laws kicked in. With all of the vibrancy and nightlife all but decimated, it’s a safer town no doubt, but what town isn’t when people are home on the couch by 10pm. You win, Melbourne. But we digress. With the cliches of lounging with tourists on Bondi Beach and anything to do with a bridge or Opera House completely banned from this list, we’re left with the coolest things to do in Sydney when there’s not much else to do in Sydney. It’s a far cry from Vegas or Tokyo but what Sydney does do well is make the most of its strengths. Here are the ones every man needs to capitalise on today.
Eat At One Of The World’s Best Pizza Joints
The best pizza in the world. That’s the title that this humble little pizzeria in Sydney’s Macquarie Park holds. Headed by three dedicated pizza chefs reigning from Italy themselves, Verace Pizzeria has fought off some stiff competition to be crowned the winner at the World Pizza Championship Australia – the Australian leg of the international competition. Their pizza is so serious that it even holds a Certificate 596 from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, meaning that their stuff is the real deal according to the “True Napolitana Pizza Association”.Contact: Verace Pizzeria
Get Your Ninja Warrior On
Crossfit is out. Ninja Warrior is officially in. With Australia currently filming their own version of the hit global fitness series, endurance has become all the rage with contestants making their way through some gruelling course that will test both strength and will. Skyzone in Miranda are the first ones to capitalise on this movement with their own Ninja Warrior course which consists of rings, bars, inverted rock climbing and a hell of a lot more designed to break any man. Think you’re worthy? Only one way to find out, barbell boy.Contact: Skyzone
Snorkel With Marine Life At Fairlight
Forget about Manly beach and sitting by the wharf with the out-of-towners. Fairlight within Manly also hides a secret under water and the only way to experience it is by snorkelling. The area boasts an extensive range of marine wildlife including sea pike, old wives, john dory, bream, stripies, a variety of nudibranchs and exotic fishes that can be seen all year round. The water temperature is pleasant most times and visibility ranges up to 10 metres in the 10 metre deep water. The price? Free for pros or hit up the Dive Centre Sydney for gear.Contact: Dive Centre Sydney
Dance With Your Local Bakers
The Bearded Bakers have quickly made a name for themselves as Sydney’s all dancing, all baking kings of Knafeh – a Jerusalem based street food which doubles as dessert. The cool thing is that these guys are rarely in the same location for more than a week so the only way to sample their Kanfeh is by jumping on their social media to see where they’ll be parking up their mobile bakery next. The dancing is free.Contact: Knafeh
Drink At One Of The World’s Best Bars
The Baxter Inn last year took out the 12th spot of the world’s best bars so it’s definitely one of the drinking holes to swing by closer to home. Be warned though besides the extensive list of whiskies the place is tiny and the after work queues are huge so head in as early as possible.Contact: Baxter Inn
Swim Under A Mini Waterfall
Head south to Sydney’s Royal National Park before embarking on a challenging trail and you’ll be greeted with Winifred Falls, a mini waterfall which people can swim in. Parking on Warumbul Road is best with a 2km walk to the water which connects from the South West Arm Creek before flowing over the rock shelf. A pristine part of Mother Nature that needs to be experienced beyond regular old Sydney.
Drive Putty Road
Have a fun car, need a fun road. Putty Road is that road but be warned – police have long caught on to revheads and motorcyclists who’ve been using it as their own personal stretch of Mt Panorama. As such, it’s best to head there early on a Saturday or Sunday for a spot of spirited driving. Trust us it has more curves to put a smile on your face than Beyonce. And be sure to stop off at the Grey Gums Cafe for a rest break alongside other enthusiasts.
Run The City’s Best Beaches
If you’re the fitness type and don’t mind bumping into a few people you know, then the Bondi to Bronte is a must. Not only is it a great cardio workout but you get the fresh air and may even see whales or dolphins. When all is done park yourself at Tamarama beach – the Bondi for locals.
Drink At One Of Sydney’s Finest Rooftop Bars
Zephyr is the latest to join Sydney’s growing list of rooftop bars and this one may well take the Martini as one of the city’s best. Perched atop the recently opened Hyatt Regency is a stylish drinking space which takes full advantage of Sydney’s harbourside views of Darling Harbour. Heading the bar is mixologist Grant Collins of The Powder Keg fame. An open breeze, an amazing drinks list and a view of Sydney like no other makes this the place to be at the moment.Contact: Zephyr
Sharpen Up Your Clay Shooting Skills
Test your marksmanship at the Marconi Clay Shooting Club for something entirely different (and illegal outside of the grounds). It’s all about competition and fun as groups, friends or family gather to celebrate any occasion by blowing away clay pigeons. No experience or firearms license is required at this professional shooting club so you can get you Duck Hunt on faster.Contact: Marconi Shooting Club

Aston Martin are taking their Red Bull Racing F1 partnership to bold new places, first with their AM-RB 001 hypercar and today with two new variants of the Vantage S in V8 and V12 packages.
It’s all in good timing too with the 2017 Formula One season about to kick off alongside some of the world’s biggest manufacturers showing off their latest toys to drum up support.
The two vehicles come complements of Aston Martin’s in-house ‘Q by Aston Martin’ division which looks after the marque’s customisation services and special models.
Those expecting F1 derived performance maybe slightly disappointed though. The Red Bull Racing Vantage S models will be an all aesthetic affair featuring visual modifications only. That means Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen signed door sills and inspection plaques, a deep Mariana Blue paint finish with options of Tungsten Silver or satin Mariana Blue, revised carbon aero work, specially branded brake calipers and Red Bull Racing embroidery inside.
The V8’s 430hp and 490Nm of torque remain untouched whilst the V12’s 568hp and 630Nm of torque should be enough to satisfy the more power-hungry crowd.
Aston Martin President & CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer said, “Motorsport is and will always be a key part of Aston Martin’s DNA and both the V8 and V12 Vantage S Red Bull Racing Editions bring that ethos straight to our customers.”
No pricing has been released as yet but enquiries are now being taken from all Aston Martin dealerships.

Is your bathroom so small you could take a dump and a shower at the same time? We feel you, but it’s not all doom and cramped gloom when it comes to small bathrooms.
As our old mate Notorious B.I.G told us, “Mo’ bathroom, mo’ problems.” Lyrical errors aside, it’s time to embrace your tiny bathroom and trick it out like a boss!
Corner Sinks

Taking up less space than traditional sinks, or even pedestal varieties, corner sinks help to functionally streamline a small bathroom. Ideally, your corner sink should be positioned across from the toilet rather than the shower, leaving a more open thoroughfare and the illusion of more space.
Trough Sinks

If you absolutely cannot find a corner for your sink, the next best option is an ultra-modern trough sink. Thanks to their low profile and narrow nature, trough sinks look best when wall-mounted (also known as floating vanities), leaving ample storage room beneath.
Alternatively, leave the space under the sink bare to increase floor space and make the bathroom feel spacious.
Wall-mounted faucets are also encouraged as they work well with narrow vanities and make way for increased sink space.
Embrace Your Curves

As well as posing potential late night hazards, too many sharp edges in a small space will also make the area feel smaller than it need to. Consider a curved sink, a round mirror, a quarter-moon shaped corner shower, or an arch-shaped bathmat for a bathroom with curvy character and charm.
Shower Curtains

A swinging shower door is the bane of a small bathroom’s existence, so throw out any ideas of a hinged shower door and meet your new best friend: the shower curtain.
Perfect for a shower-tub duo, shower curtains have come a long way from the mould-splattered floral horrors that adorned your childhood shower. Tons of modern and masculine designs can be found with a little shopping around.
Ditch The Door
If shower curtains really aren’t your thing, ditch the idea of a shower covering completely. Well, almost completely! For those who go down the door-less route, remember to compensate with additional waterproofing. This could include tiling the entire space – from floor to ceiling – and can be quite expensive. A good compromise comes in the form of a glass panel covering a portion of the shower.
Find The Perfect Mirror

Bigger is better when it comes to mirrors in cramped bathrooms. Rather than matching the size of your mirror to your vanity, choose a piece that stretches the length of the wall (or close to) and watch the space practically double in size. Don’t stop at just one; place different sized and shaped mirrors wherever feels right. This method makes the bathroom bigger while allowing you to admire yourself from every conceivable angle. Win-win!
Tile Treatment

A striking tiled floor can transform a pokey bathroom into a seemingly palatial throne room. A bold black-and-white design or a mosaic-type pattern (think Mediterranean extravagance) would both work well. When settling on a design, be sure to choose a pattern that leads the eye to the far end of the bathroom.
Tiled walls are expensive but awesome. They effectively draw the eye up, elongating the room and maximising the appearance of space.
The Doors

A traditional door will eat into your square footage, and every inch matters when dealing with a tiny bathroom. Pocket (or sliding) doors are nice, and we’re loving the resurgence of sliding barn doors. Rustic and masculine, they are the ideal replacement for a swinging door.
Creative Storage

Storage is an issue for bathrooms big and small. The trick is to think smart and utilise every nook and cranny. Some simple ideas include floating shelves, compact built-ins, storage ladders, and stacked crates or antique chests. If you’ve opted for a floating vanity, the space beneath the sink offers up to a meter of useable storage space. Towel rails or hanging hooks are another must have.
The Power Of Paint

A neutral colour palette creates a bathroom that is calming, clean and feels larger than its square footage. Add warmth, depth and texture to the colour palette with plush textiles (i.e. buy bath towels in a deep blue hue) and splashes of accent colour (such as a mirror frame matching the colour of your hand towels and bathmat).
For something a little different, paint a feature wall with vertical stripes to lengthen the surface and draw the eye up.
Find Your Niche

A niche is like a reverse shelf that eliminates clutter and looks sexy doing it. Recessed into the wall, a professional will need to be brought in to complete the construction work. Shower niches eliminate the necessity of storage shelves that protrude from the wall and take up valuable space. Outside the shower, niches can hold towels and toilet paper with ease.

Photography helps us see our planet (and beyond) in a whole new way. Here at D’Marge, we’ve marveled at the world’s incredible wildlife, pondered the mysteries of the galaxy, and gazed at our favourite cities from space.
Our next photographic adventure takes us into territory normally only seen by scuba divers. The Underwater Photographer of the Year contest has announced the winners for 2017, giving us a rare peek at how sea creatures hunt, swim, and play below the surface.
French diver Gabriel Barathieu scooped up the top prize for his photo Dancing Octopus. The image captures the graceful cephalopod in a lagoon in Mayotte, off the south-east coast of Africa. Judge Alex Mustard called it “both balletic and malevolent.”
“This image shows that the octopus means business as it hunts in a shallow lagoon,” Mustard said. “The way it moves is so different from any predator on land, this truly could be an alien from another world. A truly memorable creature, beautifully photographed.
Judge Peter Rowlands praised its “vibrant contrasting colours, detailed delicate textures” and “perfect pose.”
RELATED: Winners From The 2016 British Wildlife Photography Awards
The year’s other big winners are Nick Blake (who took British Underwater Photographer of the Year for his image Out of the Blue), Horacio Martinez (who won Up-And-Coming Underwater Photographer of the Year for Oceanic in the Sky), and Nicholao Georgiou (who scored Most Promising British Underwater Photographer of the Year for Orca Pod).
Winners and runners up were also announced in a variety of categories, including Macro, Wrecks, Behaviour, Wide Angle, and Portrait. You’ll find a selection of the best above and all winners of the 2017 Underwater Photographer of the Year competition here.
