Have you ever wondered how much you would need to eat to look like Chris Hemsworth? Wonder no more. It has been revealed that the Thor star ate ten 450 calorie meals a day whilst preparing for Thor: Love & Thunder.
Chris Hemsworth isn’t always in training for a movie. But he always keeps himself in shape in case something comes up. And when he is in training – or filming – for a role like his latest (the one he undertook in Thor: Love & Thunder) he eats an astonishing amount.
Chris Hemsworth, while training for Thor: Love & Thunder, would eat 450 calories per meal, 10 times a day, Luke Zocchi, Chris Hemsworth’s trainer, told DMARGE. The meals would be 2 hours apart. That’s 4500 calories a day (almost double the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for American Men). The guidelines, of course, don’t take into account your age, size, height, lifestyle, overall health, and activity level. So it makes sense that Chris Hemsworth, training heaps, and with the goal of bulking, would be eating more than the average man. But blimey: that’s a lot.
As for what Chris Hemsworth would eat, he would often opt for a meat or high quality unprocessed protein, a simple carbohydrate like rice and a vegetable like broccoli. This ensured he would get his bulk via relatively healthy means.
What would happen though if you, an average person, suddenly started eating like Chris Hemsworth? Other than starting to dread it, and getting sick of it very quickly (even Hemsworth, his trainer Zocchi, told us, struggled with it after a while, turning to smoothies to replace some meals), you might actually put on some bulk if you were training like Hemsworth too.
That comes with a huge caveat, however. Unless you were already close to Hemsworth’s stature, muscle mass, and fitness, it would likely be way too large of a leap to make in one go. So you’d probably be better off taking baby steps (with regards to both your fitness and your calories consumed) instead. Also crucial is to consult a professional before making any major changes.
Alex Thomas, founder of Sports Nutrition Association, told DMARGE: “The key when making big changes to your diet, is to consult an accredited coach or allied health professional (who is dually registered in exercise and sports) to make sure you are doing it optimally for your goals and lifestyle – and this isn’t just training or body goals, but mindful of relationships, social and work goals too – which typically means make smaller incremental changes.”
He added: “If you are participating in rigorous exercise multiple times per week then ensuring you have adequate calories from carbohydrates is important (they’re what fuel you during intense activity), having those carbohydrate rich meals around exercise can be a good idea.”
“For the main nutrition recommendations I’d just recommend having a lean serving of protein and a few servings of plants with each of your main meals everyday, and then adding in some fruit, dairy (yopro/chobani/greek yoghurt) and nuts for a mid morning or afternoon snack. And outside of that just try to limit (not remove) alcohol to 4-5 standard drinks/wk, and highly processed fast food meals to 1-2 meals/wk.”
“The biggest thing is consistency with this, the above probably seems to be really simple and achievable, and that’s because it is; it’s about ensuring you still do it even when you’d rather not e.g. getting the 6-inch sub with extra lean meat and lots of salads instead of the burger for lunch when you’re busy at work (or going to a Thai restaurant with friends and overindulging a stir fry with veggies instead of the pad thai).”
“If you can make those decisions a habit more often than not, then it’ll become a lifestyle and no longer a ‘plan’ which makes it a lot easier to adhere to.”
Alex Thomas
On using smoothies or protein shakes, Thomas said “Diet and protein shakes can be used in conjunction with a balanced diet, but without the assistance of a qualified and registered health professional, they should not be used to skip meals.”
“Shakes in general just aren’t satiating (filling/satisfying) compared to just eating real food, and in order to lose weight you need to be in an energy deficit, which will make you hungry, shakes over food will make this worse. Shakes really should only be used in place of food and meals where they arent’ achievable, and done with the supervision of a qualified professional who can help you with a nutrition plan and hold you accountable. You can look at the Sports Nutrition Association to find a qualified sports nutritionist.”

Attention Australians! If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, look no further than this awesome sports documentary that any and all Aussies will enjoy…
Australians have quite a lot to be proud of. We invented WiFi (you’re welcome world), have a bloody good healthcare system and blessed people everywhere with the deliciousness that is Fairy Bread.
But prepare yourself to feel extra patriotic when you check out Netflix’s latest sports documentary, Untold: The Race of the Century. The film chronicles how a group of underdog Australians managed to famously win the America’s Cup in 1983.
WATCH: The official trailer for ‘Untold: The Race of the Century’…
If you’re wondering what the America’s Cup is, it’s a prestigious sailing competition that dates back to 1851 and is still held every three to four years today. And the reason why Australia’s win of the Cup in 1983 was so historic is because it was the first time in 132 years that a team other than the New York Yacht Club won.
Untold: The Race of the Century is skillfully put together – no surprise considering Chapman Way and Maclain Way, best known for directing The Battered Bastards of Baseball and Wild Wild Country together, teamed up once again to direct it.

And the documentary features both archive footage and new interviews with key players from the 1983 US and Australian crews, which are intricately woven together to share the fascinating story and thrilling way Australia managed to win the America’s Cup thirty-nine years ago.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, we highly recommend kicking back with an ice-cold beer (maybe some Fairy Bread too) and putting on Untold: The Race of the Century. But be warned fellow true blue Aussies: you may want to have some tissues nearby while watching, because the heartwarming and emotional underdog story may just bring a tear to your eye…

Whether you’re off to a wedding in a glorious French chateau, a little English chapel or a summery garden ‘do, here’s a basic guide to all kinds of men’s wedding attire. It’s important to understand what the invite requests and not to go too over the top, nor too undercooked. It’s a fine art. Like making love.
Follow these rules, and you’ll be looking on point (and adhering to the dress code) without upstaging the groom or drawing attention away from the blushing bride.
In This Wedding Outfit Story…
Black Tie Weddings

The tuxedo scores top points for sophistication and class. While wedding dress codes have softened in severity over time, black tie is the backbone of formal attire. These days, a formal wedding will entail a standard tuxedo. So, here’s how to get it right:
Dinner Jacket
The standard tuxedo involves a black dinner jacket, made from high-quality medium-weight wool. The jacket will come in a peak or shawl lapel, no vents, with a satin or grosgrain finish, adding a subtle sheen contrast to the matte jacket. Midnight blue is a nice alternative, while bolder colours and on-beat prints can be added into the mix especially with material variations such as velvet. Always balance the bold jacket with a black trouser.
Tuxedo Trousers
Traditionally, trousers have a grosgrain stripe down the leg out-seam to match the lapels. Avoid belt loops on your trousers and opt for a flat front style, sat high on the waist.
The Dinner Shirt
The shirt front can be plain for a cleaner look, pleated if you want something fancier, or made from a classic Marcella fabric for a textured touch that won’t overpower your look. As a base rule, turn-down collars are better for black tie in modern times, unless it’s super formal. Finally, buttons can either be concealed (a fly front) or on show (a French placket).
Tuxedo Appropriate Shoes
There’s not much leeway on shoe colour for black tie – black is best. For the purists, pumps with a satin or silk bow on top are the classic shoe, but are quite rare these days. Instead, opt for black leather lace-ups (patent, for a statement sheen). Simplicity is key here, so avoid brogue punch holes and leather shoe trends like contrast soles and chunky heels. Wearing velvet? Go velvet slippers.
Accessories
A self tie (no clip-ons) bow tie is the superior option for classic black tie. Again, purists match the satin, velvet or silk material of the bow to the jacket lapel. When wearing a waistcoat or cummerbund, make sure the pleats are facing up. Finish off the look with quality cufflinks and, if you want to stand out, a pocket square, lapel pin or silk scarf, the latter a nice winter touch.
Semi-Formal Weddings

The semi-formal dress code is the more popular request for wedding invitations nowadays. And is your safest bet if a code isn’t specified at all. It’s more relaxed than black-tie but is far from casual. But be warned: styling must not look like you’re off to the office or a court hearing. It’s a mistake too often made by men who want sophistication but come off as stuffy and polite. And unoriginal.
Suits
A dark suit is the foundation of a semi-formal look. Two or three-piece, it’s your choice. Black, navy and charcoal grey are all acceptable options, especially in winter. During the day and summer, a lighter suit can be worn, as long as you’re not foregoing your socks and tie.

Shirts
Stick with a solid neutral colour (white, black, grey, blue), a mild pattern (pinstripe or lean windowpane check), or demure jacquard (a fabric weaved into a pattern motif). Make sure the shirt is crisp, clean and pressed – the collar sharp, never floppy.
Shoes
Oxfords are the go-to choice for a semi-formal ensemble, and monk strap shoes can be worn for something a little bolder, sticking to shades of brown or black. Finally, make sure your shoes are clean, well-polished and looking their best.

Accessories
Sticking with the aforementioned semi-formal pieces, there’s now some room for an injection of personal style (remember, no business suit styling). Creative touches are welcome, across socks, ties and pocket squares. When in doubt, switch in material contrast like a knitted tie or suede monk, instead of a patterned tie or coloured shoe. Texture is subtle but brilliant.
Cocktail Dress Code Weddings

Nestled between smart casual and semi-formal is cocktail attire. For weddings, tailor it to the season and time of day. Suits in heavier wools and tweed materials are more appropriate for winter, while suits in cotton, linen and even seersucker can be worn in summer. For night-time weddings, stick to dark colours. For daytime, venture into light colours such as beige, smoke grey and even white or cream.
RELATED: A Guide To Suit Fabrics
Suits
Stick to the two-piece in a peak or notch lapel and keep the cut sharp and slim. Colour-wise, navy and charcoal are solid, but a little too easy. For an alternative, look to forest green, burgundy and earthen hues like camel, brown and the more saturated blues. Or an tasteful suit pattern: plaid, windowpane or pinstripe are all very acceptable cocktail prints.
Shirts
Going bolder on the suit, stick to a block-coloured shirt or demure print, but only if the suit is patterned. Look for moments to be original, but never to the level of look-at-me.
Shoes
Again, dark leather shoes in winter or tan in summer. Consider smart loafers if it’s day time too, void of contrast stitching and embellishments.
Accessories
A tie is still a must here. Colour or pattern is allowed, but keep it classy. Don’t go big with the suit, shirt and tie – pick one place for boldness and stick with it. Accessorise with cufflinks, a watch or a pocket square.

Summer, Tropical or Island Weddings

Spring and summer weddings, daytime weddings, and weddings held in humid climates all demand a dress code that is much more casual. However, much of the change happens in the material and structure of the suit, rather than the style itself:
Suits
A casual suit will be made from fabric with a more open weave and more texture. Think cotton and linen. The most casual tailoring embodies the unstructured jacket, with no shoulder pads and no lining and a draped silhouette. Mix and match the jacket and trousers for an even more casual twist.
Shirts
Embrace the opportunity to go a little louder. Chambray blue and solid pastel hues are perfect summer shades, both light and breathable being cotton. Dark colours are still applicable, but chuck in paisley or plaid, especially if you’re wanting to dress-up – stylishly, a cream or beige suit.
Shoes
Finally, you can put your shoe collection to good use. At this point, most things will be acceptable as long as they still look sharp: oxfords, derbies, brogues, wingtips, monk straps, loafers That’s a no to sneakers. And sandals, unless it’s a beach wedding.
Accessories
Wear a tie if you want a sophisticated lift to your summer suit. Otherwise, undo the top button or two (no more, Fabio) of your shirt. A summer wedding is when accessory experimentation peaks, pull out a statement pocket square, a bedazzling watch and even those stellar wireframe shades – just take them off for photos.

(Smart) Casual Weddings

Smart casual takes on a more refined meaning at a wedding. Sartorially, it does mean you can relax tailoring as much as possible while still looking thoughtfully put-together. Opt for something comfortable and stylish in a laid back sense.
Suits
Time to break out the colours. Think Pitti Uomo, without the peacocks. You can stick with the basics if you want, but a smart casual wedding is also a welcome opportunity for bold-coloured tailoring, as well as more noticeable patterns. Again, softly structured or unstructured is best. Separates can work at this level of informality too and should be the only time really saturated colours (beyond blue and green) and boisterous prints light up separates. For instance, a yellow blazer or lime green geometric print as a jacket, not a full, garish two-piece. Always pair the bold with the not so; cream, black or navy chinos a surefire win for smart casual. Avoid denim.
Shirts
Get creative. A plain shirt will serve you well, but something a little more outlandish is a refreshing way to mix up standard wedding attire. If you do go the brazen route, keep your accessories minimal and tasteful to balance it out.
Shoes
Your shoes should stay neutral, but there’s no need for them to be stuffy. Anything from a smart loafer and upward is a suitable choice as long as you’re comfortable. Feeling super playful? Go burgundy, navy, mustard or olive green for a touch of colour.
Accessories
A sense of equilibrium must be maintained. Individuality is encouraged – so bust out the cool cufflinks, the on-point lapel pin and the snappy socks. Make sure a statement shade or pattern in one area is balanced out by restraint in another. And lose the tie if the pocket square makes an appearance. A neckerchief is a stylish replacement and you’ll certainly be an individual with this look.
Men’s Fashion FAQ
A pair of black velvet slippers will keep your formal wear looking streamlined. Some men prefer going sockless, but it is always better to wear your pair with thin socks for formal occasions. As a general rule, your tie should be darker than your shirt. It should also be around the same tone as your jacket or trousers. Match your light brown, tan and beige suits with brown shoes and brown belt. For dress shirt colors, go for light blues, light pink, and classic white. How do you wear velvet slippers?

Australia has a promising role to play in the global crypto sphere. But if we want innovation, we need to get better at regulating crypto, invest in the industry’s development and introduce more consumer protections, lest we lose our international competitive edge.
Tickets to hear Caroline Bowler, BTC Markets CEO, speak at DMARGE House on October 5th are on sale now. Buy here.
Australia is known as the lucky country. Many believe we’re fat and happy because of mining. That we lack the innovation of other countries. That we’re a proud nation of tall-poppy cutting, bucket hat wearing, VB sipping underachievers. But now we have a chance to rehabilitate our reputation, showing the world we can give Silicon Valley a run for its money, and not just when it comes to eccentric billionaires.
Australia currently has a competitive edge when it comes to the world of crypto, but if we don’t look after our blockchain industry, we could find ourselves behind once again. Speaking to this, Chief Executive Officer at BTC Markets and Board member of Blockchain Australia, Caroline Bowler, told DMARGE it’s important we don’t see crypto as a revolution, but as an evolution.
“It isn’t revolutionary – this is evolutionary.”
Caroline Bowler
She also pointed out that investors in this space are still very early – which is why it is often compared to the early adoption phase of the internet, and which is why it’s so important you do your own research on any crypto project you choose to invest in. That said, Ms Bowler also said: “Crypto is now considered an asset class and is well and truly here to stay.”
RELATED: Good News For Crypto! Why It Might Be Smart To Play The Long Game
There have certainly been growing pains though. Speaking about BTC Markets’ history, Ms Bowler told DMARGE: “Since our founding in 2013, when the price of Bitcoin was AU$110, we have experienced five forks, two halving events, numerous bull and bear markets, countless pumps and dumps, black swan events, and more FUD and FOMO than any sector should have to deal with.”
“However, we’re still here and will continue to be Australia’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, partnering with our clients to grow their portfolio of digital assets in a secure environment.”
Caroline Bowler
BTC Markets also spoke to DMARGE about what needs to happen in the coming years if Australia wants to stay relevant in the crypto space. They said Australia has a promising role to play in the global crypto sphere, if it plays its cards right. To that end, BTC Markets wants to be engaged in crafting regulations that will shape the cryptocurrency landscape, ensuring ongoing innovation in the crypto industry and assisting with the regulatory framework to strengthen consumer protections.

Though the Albanese government is already reportedly getting cracking on crypto regulation, it is an ever-evolving process that will require constant work and improvement.
Caroline Bowler emphasised the importance of regulation for innovation, saying: “we are a strong advocate for appropriate, proportional regulation for our sector in Australia. Without it, we are rapidly in danger of losing an international competitive edge.”
RELATED: What A Labor Government Means For Crypto
She went on to state that “strengthened consumer protections and increased investment are both necessary for a stronger Australia” and that further clarification around “minimum capital requirements or information disclosure” is needed.
BTC Markets is the exchange of choice for traders and investors who are serious about account security, market liquidity, and cutting-edge technology. They pride themselves on being a marketplace where you can trade securely with other verified Australians. They also offer trading in 26 markets and have assisted more than 325,000 Australian traders in transacting over $22 billion on their platform. To hear more about BTC Markets, and the future of the crypto landscape, make sure to grab a ticket to DMARGE House, coming up on the 5th of October.

King Charles III has always been a somewhat unconventional royal – obsessed with climate change and a fan of alternative medicine – but something he’s conventionally royal about is his taste in watches.
Most world leaders go to great lengths to not be seen as flashy, especially when it comes to what’s on their wrists. Well, at least in democratic countries – Vladimir Putin of Russia, Hun Sen of Cambodia and Kim Jong-un of North Korea aren’t afraid to be spotted splurging on high-end timepieces, for example.
Anyway, you’ll notice that most democratic leaders tend to wear high-end but understated watches. Joe Biden wears an OMEGA Seamaster Professional Diver 300M, for example – a nice watch, but not a super flashy one. Emmanuel Macron has worn watches from a few French microbrands. Narendra Modi either wears an old Longines or an Apple Watch.
King Charles (still feels weird writing ‘King’ instead of ‘Prince’) doesn’t have any such hang-ups – the advantages of being a hereditary monarch, we guess. Indeed, Charles has one of, if not the, most diverse and flamboyant watch collections in British royal history.
We’ve dug through the royal archives to find some of the most impressive pieces in the new king’s collection.

First up we have what’s easily his favourite watch, which also happens to be the most obscure watch in his collection: his Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph. Parmigiani Fleurier is very much an aficionado’s watchmaker: launched in 1996 and boasting a distinct, neoclassical aesthetic, PF is a favourite brand of the well-heeled.
Charles wears his 18ct yellow gold PF more than any other watch – indeed, it’s the watch he’s been wearing during the entire period of Queen Elizabeth II’s mourning. According to the brand, he bought the watch in Switzerland in the early 2000s – likely in Klosters, a ski resort town that’s a frequent haunt of his.
These days, PF is known for its impressive and unique in-house movements but this Toric features a Zenith El Primero movement under the hood – which isn’t a bad thing by any means, as that movement is legendary (and was even used in the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona for a time).

The British royal family have long been dedicated Cartier customers, both for jewels and for watches. Princess Diana, Princess Kate and Meghan Markle all wear Cartier watches, for example. Charles too is known to have a Cartier watch in his collection: a Cartier Santos.
RELATED: Cartier Invented The Watch With The Santos de Cartier – & It’s Still The Best
Charles’ Santos is peak 80s: two-tone steel and yellow gold, and mounted on a yellow strap. Unlike many Santos models sold since the 80s, Charles’ Cartier is understood to be an automatic model.

Charles also owns a yellow gold Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso, similarly mounted on a leather strap. It’s an appropriate watch for a man who was obsessed with playing polo as the Reverso was actually designed as a polo player’s watch: its rotating case intended to shield the watch’s glass and dial from the bumps and scrapes of a fierce polo match, and then flip back around when one needed the time.
Like Cartier, the British royal family have long had a love of JLCs. Notably, Queen Elizabeth II wore a Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101 for her coronation – reportedly her favourite watch ever.
RELATED: Why Are Watches So Expensive? I Went To Switzerland To Find Out

Now for King Charles’ most unique watch: his one-off Breguet. A gift to the royal on the occasion of his 60th birthday in 2008, it’s engraved with the Prince of Wales’s feathers, his then-seal.
The watch itself is classic Breguet, with an asymmetrical layout, power reserve display, calendar hand and three different types of guilloche decorating its dial. Like most of Charles’ watches, it’s made from 18ct yellow gold.
Breguet is a brand that just oozes old money so we can’t think of a better watch for an English king. Other royal former owners of Breguet watches include King George IV and Queen Victoria.

These days Charles is rarely seen without his Parmigiani Fleurier but his favourite watch throughout the 70s to the 90s was easily his Patek Philippe Calatrava Date.
It’s often said to be a reference 2551, otherwise known as a ‘Disco Volante’ – but that’s a misnomer as Charles’ watch features a date window. It’s almost certainly a reference 3445.
Princess Diana famously wore Charles’ Patek (i.e. this watch) on her wrist alongside her Patek when he played polo games as a way to wish him luck.

Finally we have Charles’ most humble watch, a Hamilton ‘Fab Four’ Chronograph which he would have got during his brief period of Royal Air Force service in the 70s.
The so-called ‘Fab Four’ were standardised military chronographs issued to the British military (and especially the RAF) made by four different watchmakers: CWC, Newmark, Precista and Hamilton. Hamiltons were the most commonly issued variant, and it’s a Hamilton ‘Fab Four’ that Charles has in his collection.
A utilitarian watch crafted from stainless steel and mounted on a NATO strap, it’s a far cry from the more refined pieces he normally favours… But Charles still regularly wears his Hamilton, especially for military occasions.

Matt Smith, while a fantastic actor and absolute gem of a person, has never really been considered traditionally good-looking. And yet, people are suddenly lusting after him… We think the personality of his House of the Dragon character is responsible.
For the last month or so, ever since House of the Dragon was first released, Matt Smith has been the name on most people’s lips. And while some are just praising his incredible performance as Daemon Targaryen in the aforementioned series, many are simply thirsting for the actor himself.
Surprising because – there’s no kind way to say this but – Smith is not a classically handsome man. And yet, a quick look on Twitter will prove there are thousands of people who now find Smith irresistible.
Don’t believe us? Well, our favourite Tweets include, “Matt Smith as a deranged mad man is really hot,” and “Had a sexy dream about Matt Smith last night this is getting out of hand [sic]”.

Clearly, this surge of new-found appreciation for the actor is because of House of the Dragon. But we think Daemon’s personality is the exact thing that’s gotten people all hot and bothered over Smith.
To indulge in a stereotype for a moment, women sure do love a bad boy with a sensitive side. And that’s Daemon Targaryen to a T. He’s arrogant and destructive but incredibly charismatic and caring all at the same time.
And because Smith plays this golden bad boy to perfection, a multitude of people are now finding Smith attractive.

It must be said House of the Dragon did not put Smith on the map. Prior to House of the Dragon, Smith was extremely well known for his roles in Doctor Who and The Crown.
But no one lusted after him the same way they are now. Which proves that Daemon Targaryen’s fictional character is what makes Smith suddenly desirable.
So to our male readers who may not be the best looking, don’t think you’ll never have the ladies chasing after you. Because clearly, an appealing personality can make even an ugly-looking man (to use Twitter lingo) hot af.

Spanish bank Santander has hired lawyers to investigate allegations that a group of its bankers knocked off after a hard day’s work in February and went to a strip club.
The investigation delved into the allegation that a group of junior employees were pressured into going to a strip club in London, after a day of meetings. According to The Financial Times, which first reported the news, Santander hired Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a US law firm, for the investigation. The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority has also reportedly been notified.
The investigation was launched after news of the outing spread among the bank’s staff, and concerns were raised by an internal whistleblower. The investigation reportedly found explicit pressure had not been put on junior staff to attend the after-hours jaunt. It has nonetheless caused quite the stink.
A source told Reuters that the trip to the strip club happened after Santander’s global debt capital markets team held meetings at the lender’s UK headquarters. Seven male members (three senior managers and four juniors) of the team were the ones that allegedly visited the establishment The Nags Head.

“It’s symptomatic of an industry in transition from old standards to new,” one source told The Financial Times. “The company did not know how to handle it because these practices were common a decade ago but are now, rightly, frowned upon.”
According to The Financial Times, a Santander staff member said: “It’s such an open secret.”
“Everyone [throughout the bank] knows about it, but nothing is being said officially.”

A Santander spokesperson said the bank takes “all concerns about employee conduct extremely seriously” and follows a “rigorous process” to ensure the facts are established and “appropriate action is taken as necessary.”

Filmmaker James Cameron has admitted that he’s worried the Avatar sequel may not be successful because it’s been a long time since the first film was released.
James Cameron is undeniably one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. The Oscar-winning director has been behind some truly iconic films – Aliens, Terminator, Titanic… and Avatar.
It’s been thirteen years since Avatar was first released in cinemas and twelve years since it was announced that the film would get not just one, but four sequels. And yet, here we are, and the second Avatar – called Avatar: The Way of Water – still hasn’t been released.
The film is set to hit theatres later this year on December 16th and apparently Avatar 3 is in post-production and Avatar 4 has just started filming. However, many – us included – have wondered if it’s too little, too late.
WATCH: The official trailer for ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’…
And as it turns out, Cameron himself had this concern too. Speaking to The New York Times, Cameron compared the Avatar sequel to other sequels he’s made before admitting that at one point, he was worried that he had waited too long.
“My personal experience goes like this: I made a sequel called Aliens, seven years after the first movie. I made a sequel called Terminator 2, seven years after the first movie. It did an order of magnitude of more, in revenue, than the first film.”
“I was concerned that I had stretched the tether too far in our fast-paced, modern world with Avatar 2 coming in twelve [sic; it’s been thirteen] years later.”
James Cameron

But Cameron then revealed this worry completely dissipated when the first trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water was released and quickly got an impressive amount of views. However, Cameron amended he’s still not entirely sure that means the Avatar sequel will be massively successful.
“Right until we dropped the teaser trailer, and we got 148 million views in 24 hours. There’s that scarce seen but wondered at principle, which is, ‘Wow, we haven’t seen that in a long time, but I remember how cool it was back then’. Does that play in our favour? I don’t know. I guess we’re going to find out.”
Indeed, we will find out whether Avatar: The Way of Water smashes box office records in just three months. And honestly, our anticipation to see how successful Avatar 2 is, is higher than our desire to see the film…

But it’s not just on the pitch that Fletcher is making waves. The Australian punter has also impressed with his decision to give any NIL money he generates to walk-ons. He posted this decision to Twitter, writing: “As an International student-athlete I am unable to Get access to any NIL money so I’ve decided that all profits from purchases of anything in my name will go to all our Walk-ons on our football team! “
“This will hopefully give some financial help to these guys that give their all.”

Fox19Now reports that UC’s Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Trever Wright explained that UC athletes receive money from licensing deals where they are paid quarterly.
“However, international athletes, like Fletcher, will never see that money unless they apply for a specific work visa. One way Fletcher was able to control his NIL money is by donating it to a non-profit or an organization, such as the UC football team,” (Fox19Now).
Proceeds from jerseys and shirts with Fletcher’s name on it will now be donated towards UC football walk-on scholarships. These scholarships help pay for the walk-on players’ tuition. Nice.
