A Hair Transplant Expert Explains What’s Really Going On With Gianluca Vacchi’s Hair

A few weeks ago we brought to your attention the incredible physical transformation that the Italian millionaire playboy Gianluca Vacchi had gone through. It was a post on Vacchi’s own Instagram which showed off the transformation of the 51-year-old to the world in just a few undisclosed years – more muscles, less wrinkles and more hair. It all culminated in a single question: Did this trendy old guy discover the fountain of youth?

A post shared by Gianluca Vacchi (@_gianlucavacchi_) on

Answer: not quite. According to the millionaire entrepreneur’s comments from previous interviews, he had only ever had vitamin injections and “that’s all”. “I am of course fighting against age, but age has two consequences: the physical one, which you can fight if you eat well and you train,” he added.Whilst the physique part is true, we weren’t fully convinced with his seemingly rejuvenated hairline, so we asked hair transplant expert James Nadin of The Crown Clinic in Sydney to explain what he thinks is going on with Vacchi’s mane game.“He looks great on the right image with the hair,” says Nadin. “To be honest, that may be a really good result from a hair transplant. A good hair transplant looks natural and fantastic. [But] if you wear a really good hair piece it can also look amazing – no one would know.”Which one of the two solutions is more difficult to distinguish due to the alterable nature of photos. Nadin does however say that Vacchi would be an ideal candidate for a hair transplant based on an older and more realistic photo of his hairline from 2008 below.“He seems like his hair is a bit wavy and that makes him a good candidate because he’s got good volume,” says Nadin. This ideal volume is paramount for ensuring that any hair transplant does its job. Successful hair transplants require hair to be taken from the back and repositioned in the front, so the specialists need to establish whether a patient has good hair to take to begin with.“That’s what the hair transplant patient’s about. It’s almost about selecting the right candidate. If you aren’t the right candidate, it’s about instilling reasonable expectations in the client. If they get something they’re expecting, chances are they’ll like the results.”So if you are thinking about getting back your lost follicles, here’s what you need to know.

What Men Are Asking For

There’s no debate that every client who walks through Nadin’s doors are hoping for a fuller look.“A lot of people want a lower hairline which we talk them out of because as you get older, that’s not something you really want – you want to maintain.”“The trend overall is people having higher expectations and we have to manage them. That doesn’t really change simply because it’s a ‘zero sum’ game and we can only take it [hair] from one place and put it in another.”The main take away for men looking to regain their lost hair is to realise that not everyone can have a hair transplant.“If they want to have a big head of hair, they have to have a hair piece,” says Nadin.“John Travolta wears a hair piece and this guy [Vacchi] might be wearing a hair piece too. If it’s a good one, it could be a hair piece.”

Latest Trends In Hair Loss Treatment

Nadin tells us that whilst there are still people trying to develop new methods of reversing hair loss, experts have gotten to a stage where they can take a single graft and transplant it. “You can’t get any better than that,” he says. “Modern hair transplant has pretty much gone as far as it can.”The next stage of treatment would be revolutionary, a process which Nadin says will involve ‘cloning’ – grafts are taken to a lab, replicated, grown and then planted back on the scalp. The high cost of R&D is the only reason why we haven’t seen this procedure come into practice yet.

Most Popular Solution For Hair Loss

Nadin says that their most popular option at the moment is PRP Hair Treatment. It involves isolating growth factors in your blood supply and applying them to an area you want to see regrowth, or rejuvenation – including the scalp.“It also works on your skin or in arthritic joints that have no cartilage left; PRP is the way of the future,” claims Nadin.“We’re discovering there’s a lot our body holds that if utilised correctly, we can actually harvest it on ourselves and use it on ourselves. Our body won’t reject something that’s harvested from our own DNA.”The process is rather interesting as it involves taking a bit of blood from a patient’s arm, processing it out through the separation of red and white blood cells with plasma. It’s this isolated plasma which holds the growth factors to help stimulate hair follicle growth, increase circulation to hair follicles and decrease the inflammation that accelerates hair loss.

We Wore Premium Wireless Headphones For A Week & This Is What We Discovered
We Wore Premium Wireless Headphones For A Week & This Is What We Discovered

These days every commuter and his (or her) iPhone is flaunting a set of Air Pods. Wireless, sensuous and sultry, Apple’s tangle-free product occupies a large chunk of the market, with those who can afford it buying it (and those who can’t saving for it). In light of this, they have been extensively reviewed by Silicon Valley pundits and technology guru’s all around the world.Same goes for the more accessible knock off versions, which we—in a moment of madness—purchased (and reviewed) last week. But, (largely) missing from this conversation, until now, has been a frank discussion of similar range alternatives and higher-end products.Enter: Bose’s wireless SoundSport offering, which at $254 comes in $30 more expensive than Apple’s Air Pods (which go for roughly $225). In the name of science (and gym-cred) we decided to try them out for a week to see if spending the extra 30 gold ones is really worth it.Here’s what we found.

The SoundSport Is Infinitely Better For Exercise

Spend an extra $30 now and hear the sweet audible (karmic) honey roll in. Forego it and forever hold your peace (and stress about sweat). While Apple’s Air Pods may look better in your #fitspiration posts, the SoundSport earbuds sit far more comfortably (and securely) in your ear during exercise. You’ll also reap the mental benefit of not worrying about rain squalls, water bottle showers and your propensity to sweat rapid-fire bullets.

The SoundSport May Make You Feel Self Conscious

With Apple Air Pods still being a relatively new phenomenon, be prepared for some even more curious looks as you strut your stuff in the (again, relatively) underground Bose ‘Buds. Especially if you have long hair, it is important to remember that when the mouth of someone near you is moving, it’s possible they are trying to talk to you. Lest you come off as anti-social, it is helpful to tap the Bluetooth button (which has the added bonus of letting you know how much battery life you have left) so they realise you aren’t blanking them on purpose, you’re blanking them because you’re listening to Rage Against The Machine. If they still don’t get it, add a few head bangs into the mix.

The SoundSport Buds Aren’t As Sleek As Apple’s Air Pods

If Apple’s Air Pods are sleek sex sticks that f*ck your ears, Bose’s SoundSport Buds are sofas that softly spoon them. Think ‘chiselled Armani model’ vs. ‘well-read Dad bod’. Both great for different things: Apple’s offering raises your Geek Chic status to a 10, while SoundSport’s lets you get down to that bass. While Apple has a history of manufacturing jewellery that connects to the internet, Bose is renowned for its musical prowess.

But The SoundSport Case Is Tenfold Sexier Than Apple’s

In this aspect, Bose have outdone themselves (and Apple). While there’s nothing wrong with Apple’s cute little package, Bose have somehow combined the adjectives tasteful and futuristic—a rare feat. That said, the button to open it doesn’t always work, especially when your hands are sweaty (and clumsy). Though we are willing to admit this may not be a design fault…

The Battery Life Is Excellent

Although Bose’s bad boys and Apple’s sleek girls have similar battery life, for the extra $30 you’ll spend on the SoundSport you net yourself an extra hour of charge (with 6 vs. 5 hours of listening time respectively).

The Volume Control Is Not Intuitive

This may be another human error on our part, but we are yet to figure out how to pause a track or change the volume via the SoundSport headphones. Note to any potential buyers: don’t immediately recycle the manual, or you may end up having to listen to every Youtube ad that crops up during your workout playlist.

The Conclusion

In an ideal world, you would have a pair of Bose SoundSport headphones for the gym, and a set of Apple Air Pods for your morning commute. But the reality is, if you are only going to buy one pair, your decision should be guided by what you mostly plan on using them for.If you have a sweaty old pair of headphones you are happy to trash at the gym and you’re keen to save your wireless babies for conference calls and leisurely podcasts then go for the Air Pods. On the other hand, if you want to maximise sound quality and plan on also using your wireless headphones to work out with, then the Bose SoundSport is worth the extra dough.

This Immaculate Ferrari F40 Is Now For Sale In Australia…For $2,390,000
This Immaculate Ferrari F40 Is Now For Sale In Australia…For $2,390,000

New year, new whip. This one isn’t any average whip though. This is the original 80s-90s Italian stallion and it will set you back a serious amount of coin if you’re game enough to take up the offer. This particular 1991 Ferrari F40 just got listed for sale on Carsales and it comes complements of Sydney’s Scuderia Graziani. The price? A cool AU$2,390,000. As a car that graced every 90s kid’s bedroom wall, the Ferrari F40 needs no introduction. The car debuted back in 1987 to mark the 40th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari’s auto-making pursuits alongside the birth of his Maranello marque. Most importantly it was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti and Pietro Camardella of studio Pininfarina, under the guidance of Nicola Materazzi, the engineer who designed the engine, gearbox and other mechanical parts of the F40. As one of the most iconic Ferraris of all time, the F40 featured some of the most cutting-edge technology of its time. The car was constructed with a combination of carbon fibre, Kevlar and aluminium to ensure it met both weight and rigidity targets. Under the rear hood resides a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V8 which pushes 352kW of power and 436Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The particular example you see before you has only done 8,899km since it was first bought and registered to Crepaldi Motors before joining a Ferrari collector’s garage in Japan. Since then it traded hands to a Melbourne owner and stayed there for 11 years where it passed stringent tests by Melbourne Ferrari dealer Zagami Automotive. The result is the coveted ‘CERTIFICATO DI AUTENTICITA’ (Authenticity Certificate) by Ferrari spa which also comes with the sale. Those who are after a truly original example won’t be too keen on the fact that the car has been resprayed though after it’s arrival in Sydney four years ago. Health-wise, the engine has been completely serviced with new cam belts and both fuel tanks replaced.Sure there have been reports that rare whisky is now a better investment than cars, but this looks better.

Want A Shortcut To Building Muscle & Strength? Fitness Experts May Have Found The Answer
Want A Shortcut To Building Muscle & Strength? Fitness Experts May Have Found The Answer

Most people know that big gains take time but for those with little time and lofty goals for a jacked physique, there could be an answer.Occlusion training is the method of restricting blood flow to the veins of a working muscle in order to promote muscle size growth and strength. It involves wrapping an elastic band around a part of your workout limb before proceeding with the exercise – for example, an elastic band can be wrapped around the top of your leg before attempting a squat workout.Brock Armstrong who is the head fitness guy at Quick & Dirty Tips investigated this unique form of training in detail and says that it “sounds crazy, and a little bit scary, but there’s definitely something to it”. Occlusion training is also known as blood flow restriction (BFR) training and in the past it has been shown in studies to result in skeletal muscle hypertrophy, increased strength, and increased endurance. In 2015 the Military Times noted that a Japanese variant of occlusion training called ‘Kaatsu’ was a “revolutionary new training system” that is blowing the minds of fitness researchers. So how does it work?A specific type of elastic band needs to be used – not your usual resistance band found in the gym. It’s similar to the one phlebotomists uses on you when you’re giving blood. This band slows down the movement of blood travelling back to your heart, thus allowing more blood to be isolated in the limb you’re woking out. Blood of course is the trailer that carries oxygen and muscle building nutrients to the muscle tissue.Controlling the amount of blood in your veins means that the concentration of lactate in your blood is higher even at lower workout intensities or weight. The result is a simulated feeling of a tougher workout on the muscles where the brain is tricked into believing that it just completed a tough workout. Your brain then releases – what some researchers say – is 170 percent more growth hormones that contribute to muscle growth. This process is called Cell Swelling.Whilst those who have never heard of BFR training may see it as a form of dark art, there have been positive studies and reports compiled in the past that approve of its methods. A 2016 Sports Medicine systematic review claimed that occlusion training increased muscle size and strength in the shoulders, chest, and arms better than conventional training methods. It even went as far as concluding that “current evidence suggests that the addition of BFR to dynamic exercise training is effective for augmenting changes in both muscle strength and size”.The main concern for any workout of course is how safe it is to attempt. Whilst BFR doesn’t involve ingesting any drugs or supplements, it does come with a specific guide on how to do it correctly so that you don’t hurt yourself. Armstrong notes in his report that “occlusion training can and has been used by athletes, patients in postoperative rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation patients, the elderly, and even astronauts to combat atrophy”. If you suffer from any form of vascular disorder like high blood pressure, cardiac disease or deep-vein thrombosis, you should not attempt BFR training. If you also experience any form of numbness during your sets, you should also stop. Now having said that, here are some of his tips on occlusion training.

What Tightness Should The Tourniquet Be

Armstrong says that the tourniquet should be good and snug, but not so snug that you begin feeling pins and needles. “If any of your extremities start to go white or blue, you are restricting arterial flow – and that is definitely too tight!” Past research has indicated that a perceived tightness of 7/10 should deliver the ideal and safest amount of blood during BFR.

Choose One Body Part To Workout & Stick To It

It’s important to know which part of the body you’re working out as you don’t want blood flow restriction in both your upper and lower body at the same time. Make sure to also wrap around the narrowest part of your limb.

How Heavy You Should Lift

A lot of the research indicates that there is no benefit to lifting heavy when you’re using occlusion bands. Armstrong notes that a weight limit of 20 – 40 percent of your 1RM (your personal weightlifting record for any particular exercise) will be good enough. “I would suggest starting with four sets of 15 reps with 30 seconds rest between each to mazimise muscle growth,” says Amrstrong. “You can do this workout two times per week safely with a maximum of three times per week with 48 to 72 hours of recovery between each.”Image via: BFRShop

California Coffee Shop Shut Down For Operating “Like An Adult Business”
California Coffee Shop Shut Down For Operating “Like An Adult Business”

Even at the best of times, interacting with your barista can be awkward. Especially once they learn your name. One false move and you go from talking about your extra hot skinny cap to “what you did on the weekend”—a conversation punctuated by uncomfortable silences, in which you struggle to call what it was exactly you did with your life ate for breakfast on Sunday.

Unfortunately for socially incompetent humans everywhere, the coffee chain ‘Bottoms Up Espresso’ are currently branching out all over America, in an attempt to make this morning java experience even more fraught, by requiring their servers to wear bikinis.

Fortunately for socially incompetent humans everywhere (or at least, those who reside in California), authorities have just set a precedent, shutting one of the chain’s Bay Area stores down for operating like an adult business.

According to News.com: “At a meeting on Tuesday, city council members in American Canyon voted unanimously to revoke a licence granted to Bottoms Up Espresso after critics argued the ‘bikini barista’ coffee shop was operating more like an adult business than a cafe.”

Opening in December, the store quickly sparked controversy both with its revealing Instagram posts and its servers’ skimpy outfits along with their cups of coffee.

A post shared by Bottoms Up Espresso (@bottomsupespresso) on

According to Fox News, although officials received complaints following the store’s opening (leading to the following conversation), the store was originally given the all clear.

“I met with one of the owners on January 4, 2019 who informed me that he intends to require the employees at the American Canyon store to wear costumes that are as revealing as the costumes worn on staff at other Bottoms Up Espresso stores,” community director Brent Cooper allegedly said.

“The business owner provided a ‘dress code.’ The costumes in the ‘dress code’ are revealing to a degree that the business meets the definition of an adult business per the city’s Municipal Code.”

Seeing as the city’s municipal code only requires workers to cover specific “anatomical areas” of the body (the private parts, buttocks, and breasts) in order to avoid classification as an adult-entertainment establishment, the store was judged to be on solid legal ground when it opened.

However, the public backlash soon prompted authorities to reconsider. One Instagram comment, for example, read: “I would be absolutely heartbroken if my daughter was serving people at a job in clothes like that. You know the girls are being looked at like pieces of meat, and so young.”

“21,000 calls come in a day in America from domestic abuse hotlines; primarily women. Those are the ones who call. Society thinks it ok to make women objects and to devalue them. Men need to get it together.”

Others came to the Bottom Ups’s defence, arguing, “Yes, but serving food and drink while in a bikini does not mean they’re being abused. That’s a false implication you’re making. Some girls like to feel sexy and show it off and that’s their business. No one is forcing anybody to work there and wear what they don’t want to wear.”

Despite the odd comment in their favour, Bottoms Up clearly doesn’t believe it has enough local support to make the expensive legal battle required to continue operating in this area worth it, and have decided to close their doors.

But that didn’t stop the franchise’s owner, Nate Wilson, throwing out a few jabs as he retreated, telling Fox News the council has gone “beyond the law” with its ruling.

“We have decided to move on from that location due to the fact the city will waste a bunch of taxpayers’ money to fight us in court, where if we wanted to make a point would win.”

“We do not fall into ‘adult entertainment’ as they suggest,” he added. “The licence was revoked before we even opened or went to any appeals. The city is acting beyond their powers and shows you how even small government abuses their powers,” (News.com).

Mr Wilson has also, as reported by News.com, previously argued something to similar effect, when opening another branch in Chico, which came under fire due to its proximity to a dance school.

“We are a very classy business and pride ourselves on customer service and quality drinks. We have dress codes that expose less than you would see at a pool or beach.”

The fact that the aforementioned Chico store is still up and running and considering Bottom Up have plans to open numerous more outlets in the Sacramento area (and Arizona), it seems the “Bikini Barista” saga is far from over.

A Perfectly Knotted Tie Will Turn You Into A Sartorial God; Here’s How To Wear Every Type
A Perfectly Knotted Tie Will Turn You Into A Sartorial God; Here’s How To Wear Every Type

If ever there was an emblem for gentlemanly dress, it’s the humble tie. First appearing in the armies and court of Louis XIII, ties have been around for hundreds of years, serving minimal practical purpose but the ultimate sartorial one. Whether it adds a splash of colour to the everyday business suit, dresses up a sports coat and chinos or polishes off a tuxedo, a tie is a winning touch for the modern gent.

However, with so many versions to choose from, it’s easy to be overwhelmed or simply make the wrong selection. Here, we explain the dos and do knots (get it?) of neck tie etiquette.

How To Wear Bow Ties

Despite a commonly held preconception that bow ties are a formal thing, these nifty suckers can be worn for a whole suite of different occasions. But let’s start with the most common – black tie. Every gent worth his salt should have a black satin bow tie. And a proper one at that. There’s nothing more elegant than an imperfectly knotted bow tie with a tuxedo or dinner suit. Yes, they can be an absolute pain in the neck (sometimes literally) but you can tell a pre-tied one from a mile away. Convenience doesn’t trump the finished effect so sit yourself down with plenty of time and figure out how to tie it.

Veering left of centre, bow ties can also be added to a range of more casual looks to spectacular effect. For style cues, think of a very chicly dressed college professor meets a weekend of hunting in an English estate. Waist coats, sports jackets and brogues. The tie itself should be colourful and play with patterns. If this is your first time dabbling, we’d suggest sticking to earthy, Autumnal tones like bronze, mustard and forest green – these ensure that your look remains day time appropriate and you haven’t just whacked a dinner tie on top.

How To Wear Knitted Ties

The knitted tie is a grossly under-utilised part of the male wardrobe. Subtle in comparison to the more immediately luxurious silk neck tie but wildly versatile, this is an accessory that will hold you in good stead. In our opinion, the knitted tie really comes into its own for events like the races or weddings. Formal without being stuffy, it compliments a more relaxed suit or can even dress down your more standard corporate fare.

We recommend a silk knitted tie with a square bottom. It offers a quirky point of difference from regular ties and also has a slightly more fun and casual feel. Try Oscar Hunt Tailors or Thom Browne for starters. The chicest combination colour wise is a block coloured suit with a contrasting tie – take the gent above with the olive knit and Neapolitan tailored two-piece as your style reference. It’s the perfect mixture of devil may care nonchalance and sartorial splendour.

How To Wear Neck Ties

The bread and butter of the tie world, neck ties are synonymous with the 9 – 5 grind. This being said, they also have the potential to provide welcome respite from it, being a means to stand out from the crowd. When it comes to picking out your favourite though, we’d advise a level of discernment and even slight snobbishness if it comes to that.

First and foremost, a 100% silk, hand stitched tie is a treasure and point of pride for any modern-day gent. Choose carefully and it’ll be a long-lasting piece that you wear time and time again. Look at colours and patterns that have versatility across your suiting as well. Classics like stripes or even dots in navy are relatively timeless and can be equally at home in a board room as they are at a dinner. Finally, when it comes to seasons, don’t be afraid to dabble with alternative fabrics like worsted wool or even cashmere. These ties require delicate handling but are an elegant contrast in the cooler months. Look at dove greys and earthy tones that reflect the weather outdoors for the ultimate Autumn/Winter look. They can pair up perfectly with navy suits, grey suits of double breasted suits.

How To Wear Skinny Ties

Let’s be frank, skinny ties aren’t a personal favourite. They remind me of ill-fitting suits and school formals. It was a time and a place that it’s best we don’t revisit. However, recognising that there are some that still have a penchant for this British mod inspired look, here are a few pointers.

If you’re wearing a skinny tie, keep it simple. Opt for dark block colours and either a knitted or silk version. The more matte the fabric the better. Ryan Reynolds in La La Land is an ideal reference. Like all the gentleman above, this tie tends to work best on a starchy plain white shirt. Keep accessories minimal and stick with greys and blues.

Last but not least, don’t be tempted by the colourful lure of a floral skinny tie. This look is universally unflattering, drawing attention to your waist line and making your torso look bigger than it actually is. If you’re keen to play with more vibrant hues, opt for a slightly fatter tie as it gives your body more shape and shows off the print without cutting it off.

How To Wear Big ol’ Fat Ties

After finding popularity in the 70s and 80s, fat ties are back with a vengeance in a whole host of patterns and fabrics.

Generally worn with softer tailoring and high-waisted trousers, this version of the neck tie needs to be knotted tightly to ensure your look remains sharp and doesn’t slip into becoming baggy. Adding a dimple below the knot is a nice touch and shows that you know your double four-in-hand from your Windsor. Having the thin end of your tie showing from behind is also a must as it shows off the craftsmanship of your piece whilst also adding a degree of nonchalance and ease to a look that can otherwise become terribly big wig corporate. If you’re looking to dabble with this broader style of the accessory, look at stockists like Drake’s, Berg & Berg or, closer to home, Calder Sartoria offers a range of exceptional options.

Ties With Jeans

A tie with jeans sounds kind of crazy when you first mention it, but it can actually be a great way to dress up your denim – particularly if you’ve got a big meeting or function. Pair jeans that have a mid-blue wash with a tweed or linen blazer, pop on a plain poplin shirt and use a knitted or patterned silk tie to top it all off.

If possible, move away from glossier ties as these are more suited to a woollen suit. It’s worth remembering that denim with a tie is a hybrid look and your tie should reflect this. The unfailingly stylish Johannes Huebel is a prime example, pairing a dark brown tie with camel blazer and worn denim.

Seth Rogen Is Nearly Unrecognisable In A Simple Tailored Suit
Seth Rogen Is Nearly Unrecognisable In A Simple Tailored Suit

Seth Rogen isn’t normally the beacon of hope for guys looking to get a bit more inspiration from their wardrobe. Things may have changed in 2019 though with the nearly unrecognisable 36-year-old actor popping up at this year’s SXSW conference in Texas in what looks to be…a nicely fitted suit. This is Seth Rogen, people – the perennially cherub guy who’s better known for being the butt of every dirty joke and at the receiving end of every joint. The bro to every dude, if you must.

Standing next to his co-star Charlize Theron, Rogen looked like an entirely new man at the premiere of his latest film ‘Long Shot’. The suit itself is a very simple affair with an electric blue suit worn over a matching blue crew neck and paired with fresh white sneakers. There was a lack of accessories on the outfit – a pocket square would have polished things off nicely – but it’s not entirely bad as a pared down suit. Baby steps is perfectly for this slimmed down Rogen with threads that fit like a glove. Also pay attention to the beltless look Rogen has gone for. Definitely a smart casual touch when pairing a suit with a tee.

We’re not fans of digging up the past but as reference here was Rogen a few years ago at his film premiere in a suit which left much to be desired. The trousers weren’t fitted properly, the shoes were an odd colour and the tie wasn’t done up properly. Overall it was a look which was better suited to a school formal (prom, for you Yankees).

Take a bow Seth Rogen, you’ve done alright this time around. On an end note, also pay attention to Rogen’s touched up beard and hair. It’s amazing what a bit of grooming can do to your entire look.

Samantha X Reveals Why She Decided To Become An Escort
Samantha X Reveals Why She Decided To Become An Escort

You walk into a room and before you utter a syllable you’ve seduced the man in it. Is this how it feels to be an escort? Not necessarily, but as high-end call girl Samantha X recently told us: it sure can be.But despite society becoming more open-minded, people still make assumptions about sex workers. This is something that, as her Instagram feed and explosive interviews attest, Samantha X is on a mission to change.Originally known as Amanda Goff, Samantha X began her career as a journalist, but—after one fateful interaction—decided to become an escort.Initially, this was a secret ‘side hustle’. However, as she revealed in a nationally televised interview in 2014, it soon became a full-time gig enabling her to charge $800 an hour for her services, under the pseudonym, Samantha X.Since then she has quit ‘the game’ for love, broken up with her partner, and starting escorting again.

Drawing both praise and criticism, Samantha now has two books to her name: Hooked – Secrets of a High-Class Escort and Back on Top – Confessions Of A High-Class Escort, as well as running her own escort agency, Samantha’s Angels. While her job choice is not for everyone, it seems almost everyone wants to know her bedroom secrets. But where did it all begin? In an exclusive interview, Samantha told us why she became an escort in the first place. Contrary to what you might expect, it had little to do with money.Although Samantha claims she had always been attracted to the idea of becoming an escort (“Growing up, I wanted to do three things. Be a successful journalist, write a book and become an escort”), she admits that there was one heart-breaking interaction that made her decide to go ahead and pull the trigger.

“My defining moment was when a very powerful man seduced me and literally walked out of the room after we had sex, and deleted my number. He had spent months telling me he was in love with me and after sex, he vanished. I knew then I was never going to let a man use me again.”
