Who is Hasbulla Magomedov?

Hasbulla Magomedov is an internet star from the Republic of Dagestan. He became famous thanks to videos he posted to social media, such as his Instagram account, starting in late 2020 – he now has 2.4 million followers, and TikTok videos of the social media sensation began going viral in 2021.
Dagestan is also where MMA great and now-retired UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is from. In fact, Hasbulla and Khabib are close friends and Hasbulla has even been given the nickname ‘Mini Khabib’, due to his re-enactment of Khabib’s UFC 229 weigh-in, his close friendship with Khabib and even a previous rumour that Hasbulla was Khabib’s son. This has seen been found to not be the case.
How old is Hasbulla?
Hasbulla is 19 years old as of 2022, although his exact date of birth remains unknown. All we do know is that he was born in 2003.
Many may presume he is much younger, due to his small stature and high-pitched voice, but this is the result of his dwarfism.
What is Hasbulla famous for?
Rivalry with Abdu Rozik
Much of the social media attention Hasbulla quickly received was the result of him calling out Abdu Rozik for a fight. Abdu Rozik, like Hasbulla, also has dwarfism, and so instantly each of them want to be seen as the ‘toughest’ little person around. However, the fight never went ahead because the Sports Association of Little People of Russia, called the bout ‘unethical’.
Regardless, Hasbulla’s social media stardom didn’t diminish, and even prominent podcaster Joe Rogan has talked about him during a podcast episode, saying “Mini Khabib. Whoever’s handling him is doing a f*****g phenomenal job. Because he’s like 18, right? He’s everywhere.”
Rivalry with Conor McGregor
Hasbulla has even called out Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor for a fight, saying “I want to punish this one [Conor McGregor]. He talks too much.”
McGregor has since launched his own attack on Hasbulla, saying in September 2022, “I’d love to boot that little g*** Hasbulla over a goal post.”
“How much to get him on the volley? Little smelly inbred.”
Conor’s comments have now also been on the receiving end of backlash from Hasbulla, fully igniting an intense rivalry between the pair.

Hasbulla responded to Conor’s comments on Twitter, saying “I don’t follow bums… didn’t know someone was running their mouth. @ me next time Conor McGregor.”
“At least one of us maintained an undefeated record. Hasbulla 1 McGregor 0.”
Indeed, during Hasbulla’s earlier social media days, he debuted his hot-headed nature, before displaying his interest in MMA. He now regularly posts images of himself in exotic locations, such as Dubai, along with photos of himself standing next to an array of supercars, as well as images of himself with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Why is Hasbulla called Mini Khabib?

As previously mentioned, Hasbulla Magomedov earned himself the nickname ‘Mini Khabib’ after a video of him copying Khabib Nurmagmadov’s weigh-in at UFC 229 went viral on social media. Hasbulla and Khabib are good friends now, owing to the fact that Hasbulla has taken up MMA and is from Dagestan, which is where Khabib was also born.
Some people often confuse the two for being blood-related, and may even think Hasbulla’s full name is Hasbulla Nurmagmadov, but this is not the case.
Hasbulla in the UFC
The rumors are true. I have officially signed a deal to fight in the @ufc! Details will be revealed by the end of the year. Thank you to my team for making this dream a reality. Get official Hasbulla @ufcstore merch at https://t.co/tP0lr6csNs or https://t.co/odYE41G3xf pic.twitter.com/Jv1QmkN25Z
— Hasbulla NFT (@Hasbulla_NFT) October 13, 2022
Hasbulla announced in October 2022 that he had officially signed with the UFC. Details of who is first opponent will be are yet to be revealed, but we imagine a whole slew of potential opponents are now quaking in their boots. Hasbulla’s most likely first opponent would be Abdu Rozik, but what would be the fight of the century remains speculation for now.
Also in October 2022, Hasbulla was in attendance for UFC 280, which saw the main card being a bout for the Lightweight Championship between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev, who is a friend of Hasbulla’s. Before the night of fighting got underway, Hasbulla stepped into the Octagon with Makhachev for a friendly fight.
Hasbulla starts his UFC career 1-0 pic.twitter.com/5Uo9wGhpRm
— Hasbulla(@HasbullaHive) October 22, 2022
Hasbulla claimed victory against Makhachev, after giving him several knee blows to the head and couple of quick left and right hooks. Many are claiming Hasbulla’s UFC career now stands at 1-0. Clearly wanting to prove he can hold his own in the Octagon, Makhachev went on to defeat Oliveira and claim the UFC lightweight championship belt.
What is Hasbulla’s condition?
Hasbulla Magomedov was born with Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) otherwise known as dwarfism, which is why many people may first assume he is a lot younger than his birth certificate would otherwise suggest.
GHD has affected other notable sports stars, including Lionel Messi, who was diagnosed with the condition when he was 11 years old. Messi was able to receive a human growth hormone (HGH) injection, and, while it hasn’t been officially confirmed, he would have likely stopped taking it when he reached adulthood. HGH is on the list of banned substances used in sports.
How tall is Hasbulla?

Because Hasbulla has dwarfism, he is only 3 feet 3 inches tall, or 1-metre.
It’s also claimed he weighs around 16kgs, or 2.5 stone.
Hasbulla challengers
A video posted to the @HasbullaHive Twitter account on the 8th of August 2022 shows Hasbulla squaring up to a potential new fighting challenger.
It’s believed the other man in the video is Erali Boyqobilov, who can also call Abdu Rozik (the man Hasbulla wants to fight) an enemy too.
A separate video posted on Twitter in February 2022 shows Erali and Abdu going fist-to-fist in the boxing ring, with the video caption claiming the “beef is real.”
What is Hasbulla’s net worth?

Despite it not being publicly available information, thanks to his surge in social media stardom, Hasbulla’s net worth is an estimated $100,000.
However, while his fight with Abdu Rozik hasn’t yet gone ahead, Hasbulla is still hoping it will happen one day – something he says in his first-ever interview with Barstool Sports. If that fight does go ahead, his net worth can be expected to increase.
Hell, it would be a great payday for Hasbulla if he manages to get a fight against Conor McGregor. We can’t imagine the Irish UFC star would have taken Hasbulla’s comments that he “talks too much,” lightly and UFC president Dana White will surely know the kind of reception a Hasbulla vs McGregor fight would have.
Hasbulla Cars

A quick scroll through Hasbulla’s Instagram will show he also has a keen interest in cars and can often be seen posing beside or inside some truly exotic cars. He appears to be a particular fan of BMWs and has even found himself in the back of the ultra-luxurious Mercedes Maybach.
Hasbulla Interview

Hasbulla recently sat down with Barstool Sports for their Sundae Conversation segment with host Caleb Pressley. It is the first time Hasbulla has ever conducted a one one one interview.
During the interview, Hasbulla revealed a few key insights, including:
- A passion for cars; “I like tuning them up. I like drifting. I like the noise they make.”
- His desire to remain safe on the streets, owing to his celebrity status and lack of vocal filter; “When I carry the blade, people keep their mouth shut. Now I have my brothers with me… better than a knife.”
- That he does have weaknesses; “When people try to insult me, I’m quick to clap back and then it’s beef.”
- He has political ambitions; “I want to become Minister of Internal Affairs for Dagestan… First I’ll find my haters and make them panic. I’ll slow down the speed limit within the city, but increase it on the highway. All the speed cameras are coming down.”
Also during the interview, Hasbulla once again revealed his hot-headiness, claiming that host Caleb Pressley’s “brain isn’t fully developed,” because he likes watching cartoons.
He also reveals he’s a cat guy, preferring them to dogs.
Hasbulla Australia Tour

Hasbulla recently conducted a tour of Australia, which saw him hosting several meet and greet events. Hasbulla was in Australia from the 29th of August – the 1st of September, with two events in Sydney and two in Melbourne. The meet and greet events gave fans the chance to get up close with Hasbulla and have their picture taken with him.
However, unfortunately for any female fans of Hasbulla, they weren’t able to have their picture taken with the man from Dagestan. Hasbulla says this was because of his cultural beliefs.
Whilst in Australia – alongside Los Angeles Lakers NBA star Shaquille O’Neal – Hasbulla explored everything Sydney had to offer, and even demonstrated his fighting fists by giving South Sydney Rabbitohs captain, Cam Murray, a punch in the face.
Hasbulla NFTs

Hasbulla has recently jumped onboard the NFT bandwagon by releasing his own. Hasbulla’s first set of NFTs was released on April 14th 2022, which depicts the social media star as different characters in pop culture. He also has a dedicated Crypto Hasbulla Instagram account, with links to his NFT collection, which can be purchased using Ethereum on the OpenSea platform.

Old-school, high-end watchmaking. The dynamic world of modern streetwear and ‘hype’ culture. To the uninitiated, these two fields seem worlds apart – but as IWC Schaffhausen’s latest collaboration reveals, streetwear and watches have much more in common than you might think.
The esteemed Swiss watchmaker has teamed up with legendary Singaporean sneaker customiser and streetwear designer Mark Ong (a.k.a. Mr. Sabotage) on a unique, limited-edition leather strap for their newest pilot’s watches, including the Big Pilot’s Watch 43, Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 and the new Pilot’s Watch Mark XX.
The buttery-soft Austrian leather strap features an ‘x-ray’ camouflage pattern – a signature of Mark’s SBTG brand – as well as other military-inspired touches, such as a sewn-on patch, military-style product designations and even a little skull and crossbones on the underside.
It’s a postmodern and versatile design that perfectly suits the military character of IWC’s pilot’s watches – and thanks to IWC’s EasX-CHANGE quick-change strap system, it’s a cinch swapping out your standard strap or bracelet for the SBTG one.
DMARGE had the chance to sit down and chat with Mark as well as Christian Knoop, IWC’s Creative Director, to talk about this exciting collaboration, and what it means for both streetwear and watchmaking as a whole.
“Working with a top watch brand like IWC is like winning an NBA championship… It’s like a championship ring for sure,” Mark tells us.

Christian explains that the collaboration initially came about after seeing how, on social media, so many of IWC’s customers like personalising their watches by swapping out different straps – and how IWC wanted to be able to facilitate that.
“We saw our customers really experimenting with our watches and giving these watches completely different looks, depending on their personal mood, on the outfits, on the occasion that they would wear the watch,” he says.
“Versatile designs, like our pilot’s watches, lend themselves perfectly to be worn on many different straps and bracelets… There’s an enormous amount of creativity going on, and we said ‘okay, we’re happy to be a part of this, to facilitate this’.”
Christian Knoop
“I mean, it’s not that we want to take this over – we can’t – but why not create something that enables people to do this even easier and quicker.”
It’s this thought process that inspired Christian to create IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system, as well as design a wide variety of different straps in-house, from rubber straps to leather straps to metal bracelets. He also points out that a goal of IWC’s quick-change system, unlike some systems that have been introduced by other watch brands, is to make it inclusive rather than exclusive.
“We don’t want to want to limit people… It is still a spring bar system so people are still free to load whatever strap they like on our watches. It’s not about excluding people with an exclusive system, but really, to see this as an inspiration and to be part of that as a brand and to play along with the creative ideas we can come up with both internally but both also together with partners like Mark.”

The way IWC have released the SBTG strap is rather ingenious, actually. By having a limited-edition, online-only release, you mirror the sort of ‘drop’ system that limited-edition sneaker releases like to use – a rather apt concept, considering how Mark grew to fame for his creative customisations of rare and special sneakers.
Christian explains that there are actually a lot of similarities between sneakers and watches: both have iconic designs that have stood the test of time (like the Big Pilot or the Nike Air Jordan I, for example), both have functional origins but are increasingly valued as pieces of art or collector’s items, and both are constantly reinterpreted in different materials and with different functions.
“There’s a strong similarity when it comes to the mentality of the buyers, the collectors and the whole mechanisms you find in the whole reseller and aftermarket circles around both watches and sneakers, too.”
Christian Knoop
IWC and Mr. Sabotage’s collaboration comes at a time when the traditional bastions of luxury – the grand fashion houses and watchmakers of Europe – are increasingly being challenged or supplanted by younger, more hype-driven brands. While some luxury brands have been open or eager to embrace the streetwear world, others remain stubbornly insular.

As Mark puts it, “fashion houses and luxury watch brands all have very, very deep histories. Compared to where we [in the streetwear space] are super casual. We do things quick. We are very young. We’re impatient. We’re part of the Instagram generation… But finally, finally, I think they made up they made up their mind to say, ‘hey, this change is inevitable’.”
“I’m really glad to be able [to collaborate with IWC] because we can learn from each other as well… When we have both cultures; both disciplines intertwining with each other, we get an in-between feeling that has never existed. And that’s beautiful.”
Mark Ong
The IWC x SBTG special edition strap set is available in two different widths and in limited quantities online (as well as in a select few boutiques) as of right now. In addition to the strap, the complete set also includes a pin buckle, fitting spring bars to assist with mounting the strap on watches that are not equipped with the EasX-CHANGE system, and a customised box in the signature SBTG camouflage design.

I recently visited America. From car bumper stickers to the word ‘clutch’ being used in real life, here’s what blew my mind.
Though America commits some crimes against humanity (most grievously, calling main course meals in restaurants ‘entrees’) it also has some awesome stuff. On a recent trip to the United States, I picked up on a couple of these. Have at ’em, below.
Everyone assumes you are a coffee expert
As an Australian in America, I found that when Americans got talking about coffee around you, one of two things would happen. The first option is that everyone defers to your coffee knowledge, asking you things like “What’s the difference between a flat white and a latte?” even if you don’t actually know that much about coffee (trust me, the emotional labour was exhausting). The second option is that everyone assumes you are a coffee snob after you enlighten them that a Piccolo is not a kind of musical instrument (or after you whinge “How do you drink this swill?”).
The drip coffee is not that bad
Despite feeling obliged, as a good coffee drinking Australian, to criticise American coffee (or question why people drink it when they could be making espresso-based drinks), the typical diner coffee you get is actually not that bad. After so many years of drinking Flat Whites, it actually made quite a nice change. And when you think about it, it basically tastes like a Long Black. Who knows: maybe it’s time we coffee hipsters get over ourselves, go full circle and go back to drip coffee…
There are American flags everywhere
This may be a cliche observation, but it’s one that really strikes you – over and over again.
The school buses are yellow
Cue: instant feeling of being in a movie. Or The Simpsons.
Bumper stickers (and yard signs) are a big deal
Who can be bothered with that? Americans, that’s who.
The political divide appears to be real
Americans are much fonder of advertising their political and religious preferences (on the backs of their cars, on the stickers of their fridges, on their front lawns etc.) than Australians. I don’t know for sure if that makes them more divided than Aussies (maybe Aussies just disagree more secretly?) but it does make their polarisation a lot more visible.
If you want a true cultural experience, go to Mcdonald’s or a Dive Bar
Fancy food is the same all over the world. Whether it’s gnocchi, avocado on toast (yes, we have officially passed that one on) or steak. So if you want an authentic cultural experience head to a Dive Bar (or Maccas).

There is a mix of extroverts and introverts
Despite the stereotype that all Americans are extroverts, I met a range of personalities. Many were bubbly and charming; some were quiet and considered.
People were polite
Despite the stereotypes, I found everyone I met kind and polite – both strangers and the people I was travelling with.
RELATED: Why Parisians Are Rude To Tourists
We are not the only ones with deadly wildlife
America also has sharks. But a smaller percentage of the population surfs, so people don’t care about it. America also has bushfires.
You have to take your shoes off to go through security at the airport
I’ve never had to do this anywhere else in the world, so that was a shock.
Wait staff are way more friendly
I guess that is the one benefit of the (f**ked) system of paying them like crap and forcing them to rely on tips.
The word ‘clutch’ is used out loud
And there was me just thinking it was only used by NBA sports blogs on Instagram.
RELATED: Australians Outraged At Man Who Wants To ‘Americanise’ Tim Tams
You don’t see many people out and about
I didn’t see many people out and about walking around. Especially compared to Australia or Europe.
The bars make you feel like you’re in a movie
They even have Jukeboxes.
There aren’t many small cars
Not in the town I stayed in, anyway.
‘Entrees’ means ‘main meals’
I remain perplexed.
People have more interesting conversations about movies and music
This may have just been the people I happened to be with, but those I spoke to were way more enthusiastic about (and had much more interesting conversations discussing the merits of) iconic movies and music than the Aussies I know back home.

There is a massive craft beer (and craft whiskey) scene
After visiting Westward Whiskey Distillery in Portland, I realised we are far from alone here in Australia about obsessing over craft beer. I also learned about a cool new genre of whiskey that is popping off in America (which is different both to the scotch you find in Scotland and the bourbon you find elsewhere in America) – American Single Malt. Having been worked on by Westward over the last 15-20 years, Americans are now gaining a taste for this new breed of whiskey, which as head distiller Miles Munroe told DMARGE, “is brewed like a beer, but distilled like a single malt.”

America has a big wine industry
Were are not the only upstarts yipping at Europe’s heels over here in Australia. After having the pleasure of being hosted at Dominio IV and Brooks Wine in Oregon, I learned America has a huge wine scene with incredible Pinot Noir, Riesling and even some Tempranillo (which is being planted to hedge winemakers’ bets, as temperatures get hotter).

It seems we’ve potentially gone full circle in the social media world, as Instagram is allegedly testing the ability for its users to add their favourite song to their profile. MySpace who?
Rick Astley could well be coming to an Instagram profile near you if screenshots provided by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi are anything to go by. Paluzzi posted to Twitter in the early hours of the morning on October 18 some screenshots of his Instagram profile settings showing the ability to “Add a song to your profile.”
Here is where your chosen song will be shown in your #Instagram bio
— Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) October 18, 2022Currently the music is NOT played but this may change before official release pic.twitter.com/uRg81yCRdj
Initially, he was only able to choose his favourite song, but just 24 hours following his discovery, Paluzzi noticed the song he’d chosen could be played by anyone who came upon his profile.
For those old enough to remember, MySpace, launched in 2003 and widely regarded as being the very first social network (or at least, the first to reach a global audience) before the arrival of Facebook, offered its users the ability to add their favourite song to their profile, for it to play automatically when another user visited it.
If you were a MySpace user, you’ll understand that picking just one song to perfectly highlight your personality isn’t one that should be taken lightly. So, while we welcome the potential addition to our Instagram profile (despite it CLEARLY stealing the idea from MySpace) we also don’t know if we can handle the inevitable stress-induced decision.
Clearly, Instagram is doing everything in its power to retain users in the wake of Elon Musk’s revelation that he plans to launch an ‘Everything App’ that could spell the end of all other social media as we know it.
Guess we’ve got some time prepare though, since it’s not clear when, or indeed if, Instagram will roll the feature out the general public.

Who is Carlos Alcaraz?
Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is a Spanish professional tennis player, currently ranked No.1 in the world in men’s singles.
With a win in September at the 2022 US Open, he became the youngest ever world No.1 at 19 years old and the only male teenager to achieve this rank in the Open Era.
In total, he has already won six Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour singles titles, and by the looks of things, he has plenty more to come.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Early Life
Carlos Alcaraz was born in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain on 5 May 2003. He started playing tennis at only four years old, influenced by his father who was once ranked in Spain’s Top 40. He also has three brothers, but little is known about them.
He started playing at his father’s tennis academy, before moving to be coached by former men’s No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero in 2018. Ferrero is still Alcaraz’s coach, and has undoubtedly played a huge role in his early success.
He has listed his heroes as fellow Spaniard and tennis legend, Rafael Nadal and his long-time rival Roger Federer. Not bad players to model your game around!
Carlos Alcaraz’s Professional Career

In 2018, the same year he joined up with Ferrero, Carlos Alcaraz turned pro, age 15. He played his first ATP event in 2020 in Rio De Janeiro. Little did he know within 2 years, he would be the world No. 1.
Age 17, Alcaraz qualified for the 2021 Australian Open, making him the youngest participant in that year’s men’s singles. He was eliminated in the second round but showed great potential at such a young age.
Shortly after entering the top 100, Alcaraz won his first ATP singles event, defeating Richard Gasquet to claim the 2021 Croatia Open Umag. Later that year he also reached the quarter final of the US Open, when an unexpected leg injury forced him to retire.
In 2022, Carlos Alcaraz racked up wins in Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Barcelona and Madrid, making his record in finals 5-0. At the Madrid Open, a day after his 19th birthday, he defeated his hero Rafael Nadal in the quarter-final, becoming the first teenager to ever defeat him on clay. Alcaraz also defeated world No. 1 and top seed at the time, Novak Djokovic at the same tournament. What a beast.
In July, he reached the final of the Hamburg Open, but lost to Italian Lorenzo Musetti and in the process, lost his perfect finals record.
Carlos Alcaraz’s 2022 US Open Victory

Regardless, Alcaraz’s string of strong results stood him in good stead for the 2022 US Open. Entering the tournament ranked No.3, he reached the fourth round without dropping a single set.
In the quarter-final, Alcaraz and opponent, Jannik Sinner played for five hours and 15 minutes, the second longest match and the latest finish (2:50am local time) in US Open history.
In the US Open final, Alcaraz squared up against world number 5, Caspar Ruud. Whoever won the match would go on to become world number one. Alcaraz defeated Ruud, 4-6, 6-2, 6-7, 3-6, to become the youngest ever men’s singles world No. 1.
Alongside Daniil Medvedev, he is only the second player since 2003 not included in tennis’ ‘Big Four’ to reach the top of the rankings. The ‘Big Four’ includes Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Playing Style

Carlos Alvarez has a very aggressive baseline playing style; he looks to move to the net to win points, with his forehand being his most reliable shot. These traits have earned him comparisons to tennis great, such as Roger Federer.
Alcaraz’s coach Juan Carlos Ferrero once said of the young star:
“The style of Alcaraz is closer to Federer’s game style than any other of the top three… his ability to move from behind to inside the baseline so fast is a Roger style, 100 percent.”
His incredible physical abilities have also earned him comparisons to Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Andy Murray has confirmed this, singing Carlos’ praises, “Alcaraz is unbelievable strong.”
Carlos Alcaraz’s Girlfriend

Carlos Alcaraz is not only winning on the court but off it too. He is rumoured to be dating Maria Gonzalez Gimenez, a fellow tennis player from Spain. She plays for Murcia Club de Tenis, near to where Alcaraz was born.
Although there have been a few Instagram photos of the pair, neither have formally announced a relationship, opting to keep it out of the public eye.
Carlos Alcaraz Net Worth
Before the 2022 US Open, Carlos Alcaraz was believed to have a net worth between $2-$5 million. But, since his US$2.6 million prize money from the US Open, combined with the raft of sponsorship deals he is now likely to rack up, we expect this figure to increase a huge amount in the coming months.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Endorsements
Carlos Alcaraz is sponsored by Nike for his clothing and shoes and French company Babolat for his racquets.
He is also a brand ambassador for high end brands Rolex and BMW.
Having achieved all this at only 19 years old, just how far can this young man go?

Event season is upon us, which means it’s time to get dressed up and look snappy… But if you’re anything like us, your wardrobe is in desperate need of a revamp, especially in the suit department.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Politix to showcase an exciting selection of elevated yet fun fits from their excellent new Spring/Summer collection to inspire you to spring into party season in style.
Politix has always helped men make their mark. By getting to know the person behind the suit – and elevating their personal style through skilful design and time-honoured craftsmanship – Politix’s suits are perfect for every occasion.
Whether you want to stand out at a cocktail party or just want to look crisp next time you’re out catching up with mates, a Politix suit (or two) is exactly what your wardrobe needs this party season.

There’s nothing that screams summer more than an airy, pastel suit. Politix has long been known for their great selection of suit colours: this season’s highlights include a slick range of pastel pinks, blues, lilacs and mints.
If you want to ditch the shirt and tie, pair it with one of Politix’s iconic patterned shirts to add a little bit of contrast and finish off the look with the perfect smart casual footwear option: some crisp white sneakers.
Whether you’re cutting shapes on the dance floor or making a style statement in the office, this breezy Politix suiting ensemble is an absolute killer.
For a more debonair look, try a grey checked suit. Men often get stuck in the trap of just rocking blue or black suits, but grey is another versatile colour that you ought to have in your rotation.
Keep it light and easy with a simple white shirt, or dial up the suave factor by pairing it with this black waistcoat.
Politix’s tasselled loafers also look the business and perfectly split the difference between formal flair and playful vibes. Who said Aussie men aren’t fashionable?
Finally, we’ve got this versatile ‘natural’-coloured suit that’s on trend and super textural – a summery choice that’s perfect for the warm weather ahead.
Pair it with a simple white t-shirt if you want to nail the smart casual brief – or ditch the blazer entirely and throw on a dark patterned shirt… Or wear both. The world’s your oyster.
Brown loafers complete the outfit, which will make you look like a million bucks – without breaking the bank.

This is but a taste of what Politix’s latest Spring/Summer collection has in store – hopefully it’s given you a bit of style inspiration so that you too can be ready to spring into the party season in style.
Shop these three Politix looks – or construct your own winning spring/summer outfit from Politix’s stylish range – here.

Despite plenty of evidence and honest accounts, keeping fit in older age probably isn’t something many people feel they can do or indeed, want to do. But some X-rays DMARGE has come across provide damning evidence to suggest even an 80 year old man can be stronger than a 30 year old if they commit to getting fit.
The X-rays, or more specifically, MRI scans, in question were posted to LinkedIn by body transformation coach, Dan Go. In his post, Dan places three MRI scans side by side, which show the upper leg of a 40 year old triathlete, a 74 year old sedentary man and a 70 year old triathlete.
Dan explains, “the dark part around the bone is muscle. The white part is fat.”

If you’re not entirely sure exactly what you’re looking at, Dan further explains, “what you’ll see in this picture is that the 40 year old and 70 year old have the same amount of muscle in their bodies, while the 74 year old sedentary man does not (obviously)”
“Studies show that an 80 year old who lifts weights is stronger than a 30 year old man who doesn’t. What you should take from both of these examples is that you either use it or lose it.”
Dan Go
We’re certainly inclined to agree. It makes sense, of course, if you lift weights no matter your age, you’re going to be stronger than someone who barely lifts a finger. But, while this evidence is clear, there are still some things you should be conscious of, if you do plan to remain a literal lifelong member of your gym.
Ben Lucas, former NRL player, owner of Flow Athletic and a man who has maintained a strict fitness regime since retiring, which sees him running the New York Marathon in November with Athletes For Life, has spoken to DMARGE about the benefits (and potential risks) of keeping fit as you age.
Speaking to Dan’s point about an 80 year old who lifts being stronger than a 30 year old who doesn’t, Ben said “there is always an exception to the rule.”
“This is mainly due to genetics, but in general, our muscles, strength and their function starts to decline as we age. Research has shown that from the age of 30, your muscle mass will decrease by 3-8% per decade and the rate of decline gets steeper after 60.”
“This means that it is important to keep doing some form of resistance training as we age, especially for the health of your bones as osteoporosis is prevalent in Australia.”
“Can you be stronger than a 30 year old who has never lifted in their life? Possibly. But it is not a necessary benchmark to set yourself.”
So, while you could be stronger than a Gen Z with a disposition for Netflix and McDonald’s, it’s not necessarily a guarantee. Ben also says you should adjust your training plan to suit your age. It’s unlikely you’re going to be a real life Superman, after all.
“At 60, I would be more working out to improve mobility and to maintain your muscle mass best you can, as that is what matters to you at that age. Squatting 100kg is not really helping your mobility and it may lead to an injury. You’re going to be better off doing some functional movements to keep yourself mobile, rather than potentially injuring yourself.”
One user did comment on Dan’s post, saying, “the actual wear and tear on that 70 year old athlete’s body and joints can be just as dilapidating, as many are now having hip and joint replacements alongside severe arthritis.” We presume, from this comment, the user means the force placed upon older joints can be just as detrimental as a younger person doing no exercise at all.
To this, Ben tells DMARGE, “Pain due to various ailments are all depending on perspective of the individual. Anything that causes them pain or stops them from being able to do what they enjoy pain-free wouldn’t be great. To minimise the effects of training on joints as you age, I would suggest the following:”
- Be mindful of plyometric movements, as they can be heavy on your joints
- If you have niggles, work with a trainer if you are not confident in the weights room, who can help you
- Make sure you maintain good posture and good form when you are doing your exercises as bad posture can cause joint problems
- Consider getting a massage or seeing a physiotherapist if you have a problem area
- Your diet and the amount of sleep you are getting is also important. Lean protein, whole foods, antioxidants and lots of water are all important
- Be active
- Do some resistance training for the integrity of your muscles and your bones
Heath Jones, Director of the Active & Ageless Over 50s Club has also previously spoken to DMARGE about staying active as you get older. He told us the majority of exercise he sees the older generation carrying out is cardio-based, things like tennis, swimming and walking. But he said there is always still room for strength training,
“Strength and mobility as we age is absolutely paramount if a person wants to lead a good quality of life well into their later years. By having good levels of strength and mobility we are able to perform daily activities safely and effectively.”
“Training, particularly as we age, should be focused more to the movement of the exercise as opposed to aesthetically on the size of the muscle. For example, in an exercise routine, instead of doing a bicep curl, we can include a bicep curl to press.”
The takeaway? Any form of exercise, no matter how old you are, is going to be better than doing no exercise at all (this isn’t rocket science, remember?). It’s also important to train within your means. Yes, you may have a seriously determined mindset which encourages you to train to your absolute optimum, but you also need to factor in the natural biology of life.
If your body can’t realistically handle the level of training you want to carry out, then listen to it. We don’t all have to look like Terry Crews.

Bros is a new movie that puts two gay men front and centre for the first time in a romantic comedy. But aside from this monumental landmark, it’s also one of the first genuinely funny rom-coms I’ve seen in a long time.
Bros is the brainchild of American comedian and actor Billy Eichner (who stars as one of the main characters, Bobby) and director Nicholas Stoller, who is also responsible for familiar comedy movies, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him To The Greek and Bad Neighbours, to name a few.
But, despite those names being involved with Bros, I did have my reservations going into seeing it at the Sydney premiere. Now, I’m not going to call myself the biggest rom-com fan on the planet, but I have seen the majority of popular titles in recent years. And, while they do on occasion bring out a slight snicker laugh from me, I wouldn’t say they have me to a point where my sides are splitting from genuine creased up laughter.
But that’s exactly what Bros offered in spades.
The plot of Bros is a little conventional and at times, predictable. Bobby (Billy Eichner) is a 40-something gay man living in New York who has never found true love. But he does take pride in just hooking up with guys and being single. He says this way of living is “romantic,” and he’d take it over a divorced marriage or a heartbreaking break-up any day.
He is a strong advocate for gay rights, which he talks about at length on his podcast. Whilst talking on his podcast, the audience gets run through the typical life for a single gay man, which had the entire auditorium in hysterics, because of how accurate it is.
He also plans to open the first LGBTQ+ history museum in the city, with help from his friends and representatives of other minority groups. The conversations this group has at their meeting table is another source of the aforementioned lols.

Bobby goes to a club with his friend Henry, and there he spots Aaron (Luke Macfarlane), the stereotypical, physically attractive gay man who is “boring.” But, the two occasionally message each other, “Hey, what’s up” which is a running joke through the movie. For those unaware, this is the standard opening message gay men receive on the dating app, Grindr.
Bobby and Aaron begin to spend more time with each other and even sleep together (again, another hilarious scene that we imagine would have been incredible fun to shoot). But when Aaron’s family come to visit him, he asks Bobby to “be a bit less yourself,” to which Bobby takes offence. They do meet up shortly after, and Bobby runs Aaron through a whole speech which, to be honest, I felt did go on a little too long. It also, I felt, began to make Bobby a bit unlikeable.
I am all for equality and rights for everyone, and nobody should be victimised for living their own life. If it doesn’t affect me personally, then how could I possibly have a problem with whatever someone else does with their life? But Bobby shouted quite a lot when he was putting his point across, which I felt made him a little harder to want to listen to.
If you want someone to understand where you come from and perhaps change the way they think, then you also have to be likeable and engaging. The shouting just didn’t do it for me, and started to verge on cringeworthy. The content of the speech, I completely understood and it needed to be said. I just would have preferred if it was said in a more engaging way.
Overall, Bros is a landmark movie. Not only does it depict two men in a romantic comedy for the first time, but the majority of the rest of the cast identify as LGBTQ+ too, again, huge for Hollywood. I can only hope this evolution, not just for rom-coms, but for Hollywood as a whole, continues. It’s about damn time.
Bros will be released in Australian cinemas on 27th October, 2022. Until then, you can watch the official trailer below.
