Australians might have a laidback, carefree attitude towards life, finding fun in virtually any situation. But when it comes to what goes on behind closed doors, the land down under isn’t as adventurous as you might think.
At least, that’s according to the results of a survey conducted by We-Vibe, manufacturer of couples-focused sex toys. After asking several blokes and sheilas, the vibrator makers found that 41 per cent found the missionary position to be their favourite. The first position we all learn about in Sex Education: 101, can so often be seen as boring and ‘vanilla’, but the respondents claimed it was their favourite because it allowed for greater intimacy and face-to-face contact.
The two other favourites: Doggystyle and cowgirl, recorded scores of 30 per cent and 28 per cent, respectively. If you’ve ever heard your mates claim they’re into whips, chains, tying up or any other kind of kinky bondage action, there’s a possibility they’re lying, as only 6 per cent of those surveyed said it was their top fantasy.
Sydney-based sex coach Georgia Grace weighed in on the results, saying that if you want intimacy when you get down and dirty under the covers, it doesn’t have to involve face-to-face or even eye-contact. There’s no right or wrong answer.
“Intimacy doesn’t always look like rose petals and eye gazing, it can feel just as deeply intimate to be dominant/submissive or be bossy in the bedroom”
But what she did find from the results, is that Australians are looking more and more for a connection when it comes to some sheet shuffling.
“What this research suggests is that as human beings, the best kind of sex is connected sex. If this means missionary hits your pleasure points and allows you to see their face, then go for it! Missionary is an exceptional position, and is loved by many.”
“So often we put hard and fast kinky sex on top of the hierarchy of ‘really good sex’, but as this research suggests, this may not be what people want.”
“Good sex is feeling connected to the person/people you’re having sex with.”
She further adds that what might be boring to someone, might be exciting for someone else. “When we speak about ‘vanilla’ sex, I don’t see this as a bad thing. Vanilla is tasty AF!”
“Sometimes you may want to add some choccy sauce and spice things up, and if that’s the case you can always introduce a little spice in the form of something like a couples vibrator.”
The results of this We-Vibe survey comes a couple of years after condom company Durex carried out its ‘Great Aussie Sex Survey’, which found that people only ‘root’ an average of twice a week, and have 11 sexual partners in their lifetimes.
However, the same study also reported a rather high number of sexually active Aussies who don’t use protection in the bedroom – 52 per cent – while around 30 per cent of the 1,000 people asked said they didn’t take a condom on a first date because it would seem “too presumptuous”. But hey, don’t ask don’t get, am I right? At least you’ll be protected if it’s a go.

Former UFC Champion but the undeniable star of the series Conor McGregor, appears to be using the quarantine period we’re currently facing to pass on his stellar fitness knowhow to us average Joe’s. The Irish MMA fighter certainly knows a thing or two when it comes to keeping the body in peak physical condition and his latest Instagram post proves he’s just as much an adept coach, as is he is an in-ring fighter. It revolves around the common pull-up, one of the best and most effective upper body strength exercises anyone can do. But it’s for those same reasons that it can be difficult to master, because if you have no, or very minimal, upper body strength, you’re going to struggle to pull yourself up to the bar.

A dishevelled looking Conor breaks it down by clearly identifying the three main types: wide-grip, inside lat grip and bicep grip. The latter is often regarded as being the easiest to carry out, but as Conor says, “whichever one you do the most is going to be easiest”.However, it’s the latter bicep grip move he focuses on in his video, with some top tips you should remember next time you’re facing the chin-up bar. Firstly, you want to make sure your arms are straight before you pull yourself up.Once you begin the movement, Conor says you should bring your elbows inwards so that they’re facing each other. Not only does this slow the movement down, putting more strain on the muscles (and subsequently a greater chance of gains), but it helps to work the inner portion of your chest. He explains that the benefits of this when fighting will mean that even if someone manages to get a jab through your defence stance, your chest will be so solid it will feel like “hitting a brick wall” for the opponent. It’s a small and simple change to the technique you might already be using, but one that will bring huge benefits. Be sure to try it next time you find yourself with a pull-up bar.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a football god. Millions worship him. That longing is not limited to his on-pitch abilities – part of being a superstar is the masses covet your hair. So when CR7 decided, late last year, to get a new ‘do,’ the follicular fallout was massive.

Never have we cared so much about a man going from ‘short and gelled’ to ‘hipster undercut.’ In any case, Cristiano has been rocking the sides-shorn man-bun happily ever since. Then came along a pesky global pandemic: now he’s in the same perilous position we all find ourselves in: not having easy access to a barber.
As we reported last week, many Australian and American men have been turning to ‘home haircuts,’ the results of which have been horrific. But, being Cristiano Ronaldo, you’d think he’d be able to outdo them (like David Beckham, who chose the simple route of shearing it all off).
Alas, no: the five-time Ballon d’Or winner tried to maintain his complex man-bun undercut, and the results were, if not disastrous, average (admittedly I may be prejudiced against this style of haircut in the first place after trying to imitate it ruined my life).
In any case, it illustrates the pulse-quickening sensation involved in letting your partner chop your mop.

The very thought of a BMW Z3 will likely have the usual “hairdresser’s car” connotations attached to it, like with many other curvaceous convertibles. However, BMW produced a version of the Z3 that was not so much hairdresser, but more salon hairdryer on steroids that could blow the competition away.
It comes in the form of this Z3 M Coupé from 1998 that is available to buy on Carsales right now. Before we get on to the power and drivability of this car, we’ll get the elephant in the room that is its looks out the way first. When BMW launched the M Coupé, it wasn’t immediately well-received, not just by the public, but the BMW enthusiasts’ club either.
In order to get approval from the Board, BMW’s design team had to make it as cost-effective as possible, and as a result, virtually the entire front end is interchangeable with the convertible version, along with much of the interior. BMW also used the same drivetrain system, just with a coupé body attached to it.

Its distinctive styling has earned it nicknames such as ‘hearse’ and ‘clown shoe’, but in today’s world some 20 years later, the looks are a refreshing change among a sea of similarly shaped sedans. This writer, in particular, has always been a fan.
The model on sale here is powered by BMW’s 3.2-litre S50 engine unit (also used in the E36 M3) which is capable of propelling the Z3 M Coupé to 100km/h in just over 5 seconds. BMW fitted a new S54 engine variant in the cars built from 2001, and it’s this model that’s super rare and highly desirable with only 1,112 ever made.
That’s not to say the S50 variant is common, however, as only 2,999 were built worldwide. Only 821 of those were right-hand drive models and 34 of the 2,999 were delivered to Australia. So, on these shores at least that makes this car exceptionally hard to come by.
This particular model has had the majority of the options list fitted to it, including an upgraded sound system, heated seats, climate control, electric windows and sunroof and M-styling interior package. It’s even had the traction control system taken away, so you’ll be able to get it sideways…providing you have the skill and access to a dedicated track, of course.

The owner has also made a number of repairs and upgrades to suspension as well as giving it an eye-catching set of BBS alloy wheels. Although, they may not as eye-catching as the original Estoril Blue metallic paint, which is nothing short of stunning.
It’s an immaculate car inside and out, and we’re sure any BMW collector or general car enthusiast out there would love to have it in their collection. It’s hard to imagine this will hang around for long, especially with its attractive AU$85,500 asking price. Head to Carsales now to make your enquiry.

Your favourite place to jet off for a cold Bintang is heading for financial hardship.
Yes, Bali, the go-to island destination for Australians of all ages, has been hit hard by the global pandemic, with a graph, posted by The Daily Examiner via Tradingeconomics.com, clearly showing a sharp fall in tourist numbers of around 30 per cent compared to this time last year.
The Indonesian island has been forced to close its borders to international visitors, and anyone who decided to stay on the island is currently having to abide by strict lockdown laws. Businesses, beaches and temples have all had to close and the streets are practically bare. A stark contrast then to the usual flurry of images depicting Aussies filling up clubs and posing for Instagram-worthy photos.

But if you had a holiday booked to the popular island resort, there could be some particularly bad news in store for you. That’s because the island relies incredibly heavily on tourism to stay afloat, and without hordes of holidaymakers flocking to Balinese shores, is at risk of collapse.
Mangku Nyoman Kandia, a tour guide who has worked in Bali since 1984, spoke to the ABC, telling them, “The coronavirus has collapsed the Balinese economy. It’s seen a steep drop since when social-distancing measures were put in place,”
“No tourist, no money.”
Ross Taylor, president of the Indonesia Institute at Monash University, Melbourne told Al Jazeera that Bali could have itself to blame because of the heavy reliance on tourism.

“We know that 80 per cent of Bali’s GDP is based on tourism. There’s been this huge transition where almost everyone has placed all their eggs in the tourism basket.”
“The result of taking that away would be catastrophic.”
Adding that the majority of households in the Western world will have access to some sort of financial buffer to help see them through the pandemic, Taylor said, “In Bali, most people earn only a couple of hundred dollars a month. If they lost their jobs, they will have nothing to fall back on.”
The decision to close down businesses and borders was made in response to the growing number of confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths in Indonesia, with numbers standing at 1986 and 181 respectively, as of April the 3rd.
