Justin Bieber’s Weekend Wardrobe Is A Terrifying Look At What Happens After Marriage
Justin Bieber’s Weekend Wardrobe Is A Terrifying Look At What Happens After Marriage

One week is all it takes to convince the world that your personal style has taken a turn for the worst.During his first public sighting of 2019 as a married man, Justin Bieber was snapped on three consecutive days rocking a questionable range of attire. It was an eclectic and odd mix of street wear, lounge wear and skater wear – all of which combined to make him look like a bag of Skittles in a non-good way.

He’s wild alright. Check out the colour clashes and those LV slippers.
Let us first visit exhibit A. In this dishevelled look Bieber opted for a bright blue hoodie worn over an oversized canary yellow tee. This was further reinforced with baggy black cargo pants presumably from 2001 and, wait for it…Louis Vuitton fur slippers. We’re not sure what look the Biebs was going for here but it sucked big time. Even a black beanie for a bit of street cred couldn’t save him.
A full blown snow jacket is functional. A pair of sweatpants with said snow jacket is not.
Exhibit B: Sure it may be brisk in New York City but pairing a bright red snow jacket with blue sweat pants is a big no-no in our books. The beanie-jacket combo is fine but once you slap it all together then a few eyebrows will be raised.
The final straw. Bringing back Sk8r boy with matching checkered flags when no one asked for it.
Exhibit C: Sk8r boy died with Avril Lavigne’s debut album but it appears no one told Justin Bieber. In the same week the pop singer was spotted skateboarding in bright yellow parachute pants, a black hoodie and yellow tee. Functional, yes. Stylish, that’s a no from us. We’re not sure what’s going on here but it’s definitely not the modern skater boy who usually opts for slim fit denim and relaxed collared shirts.Hit the gallery to see what we mean.RELATED: Benedict Cumberbatch’s Leisure Suit Is Next Level WTF

You’ll Live Longer If You Can Do This Many Push Ups, Say Scientists
You’ll Live Longer If You Can Do This Many Push Ups, Say Scientists

If you ever needed a reason not to skip chest day, this is it. Scientists have just found the number of push-ups middle-aged men need to complete in order to significantly lower their risk of cardiovascular disease. The life-saving number? 40 push-ups.Scientists spent a decade conducting the research which covers everything from the diagnoses of coronary artery disease and major events such as heart failure when compared to those who could only do 10 push-ups or less.“Our findings provide evidence that push-up capacity could be an easy, no-cost method to help assess cardiovascular disease risk in almost any setting,” said the study’s author Justin Yang.“Surprisingly, push-up capacity was more strongly associated with cardiovascular disease risk than the results of submaximal treadmill tests.”The research conducted by the medicine resident in the Department of Environmental Health at Harvard is the first known study to identify a link between push-ups and cardiovascular disease outcomes. The team obtained their results by analysing health data from 1,104 active male firefighters with a mean age of 39.6 years and mean BMI (body mass index) of 28.7. Every man’s push-up capacity and treadmill exercise tolerance was recorded at the start of the study before they continued on with annual physical and health examinations.During the decade-long study there were 37 cardiovascular diseases reported. All of these bar one occurred in men who could only do 40 push-ups or less during their baseline exam. From this result the researchers calculated that men who were able to do more than 40 push-ups had a 96% reduced risk of CVD events when compared to those who could do less than 10 push-ups.But before you make those 40 push-ups your target to a longer life, the study’s authors warn that their subjects consisted of middle-aged men who were occupationally active. In other words there might be a bit more leg work involved for men and women of varying ages who are less active.Nonetheless it would appear from past research that improved muscle strength is the ultimate key to extending your lifespan, whether it be push-ups or other forms of muscle building exercises.

The offering? An insanely rare “Suffix A” 1972 Range Rover in a classic two-door shape…and six-wheel drive. That’s right, count em’ and utter to yourself: “What in Prince Philip’s driving…”According to the seller’s ad this is the “holy grail” of vintage Range Rovers even though it looks like it’s driven through a few Dakar Rally stages – like three decades worth. For a fully restored version of a four-wheeled ‘Suffix A’, you’re looking at almost double the price this one’s selling for at around £49,995.This particular version which is asking about half that at AU$49,950 sports all of the original running gear and interior trim – all of which will need a bit of work to bring back to its former glory. Thankfully though the seller does claim it’s rust-free with the exception of a small cosmetic ding on the driver’s side door. Besides that it’s a “very straight” vehicle which includes the early version seats that came without headrests.Under the bonnet is a 3.5-litre V8 mated to a manual transmission with just 28,000kms on the clock. The car’s exterior is finished in yellow but we can already see this beast’s potential once it’s been redone in Bahama Gold. Rostyle rims and a heritage certificate is included in this sale of the second-owner car.

Coloured Suits Can Take Your Style To Bold New Heights; Here’s How To Do It Right
Coloured Suits Can Take Your Style To Bold New Heights; Here’s How To Do It Right

It’s time to wave goodbye to the days where navy blue and charcoal grey were the first and only colours available to men.

It’s much more acceptable to incorporate the fringe colours – pink, purple, yellow – than ever before. It’s also really easy to go that way and look like you don’t want to be taken seriously.

Plainly speaking, there’s a right way to do colour, and a wrong way to do it. Too much colour and you’re a Pitti Uomo caricature that can’t be trusted. Too little, and everyone will think you took the Godfather a little too seriously or work for the government.

Here’s the breakdown on how to take advantage of colour in your wardrobe, and how to straddle the fine line between not enough and far too much.

Coloured Staples First

When taking stock of your wardrobe, stick to the staple colours first. Navy, charcoal, and neutrals are enduring sartorial staples and it’s not just fussy conservatism or tradition for the sake of tradition keeping them afloat.

These staple colours are timeless, versatile, and immune to trends. They’re not going out of style this century. Generally, they can be worn in both summer and winter. They’re foundational colours that you can use to contrast with bolder, on-trend colours.

That, and the staples look good on everyone. Even pasty, sun-starved guys like me look good in a navy suit, and chances are you might too.

Pick Your Colour Based On Seasons

Do you cringe at the thought of the overdressed wanker in the office going on about his ‘summer rotation’?

It sounds tragic, but it’s legit – to a point. Some colours just work better in summer than they do in winter, and vice versa.

Darker colours retain more heat, for example, and can look harsh on warm days. Whereas cooler, neutral tones complement the seasonal changes and make your time in the sun a hell of a lot more tolerable. This isn’t a fixed category, so feel free to experiment, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

Beware The Suit Colour Salad

If there’s anything to avoid, it’s mixing colour like you’re a five-year-old with access to six buckets of paint and no parental supervision.

Sure, it’s good to be enthusiastic. But too much colour can make you look indelicate, try hard, or clueless, or a forbidding combination of all three.

We’ve all seen photos of those guys at Fashion Week, or on the wall at Pitti. Their colour salad outfits scream ‘look at me’, and not in a good way. Less is more, gents. A good rule of thumb is to have one anchor colour and a complementing bolder tone to keep things interesting.

Use Colours In Suiting Sparingly

You may have heard the ‘pop of colour’ expression. Sounds trite, but it’s a thing. Aim to use small quantities of a bold colour to lift your outfit.

It can draw attention to key outfit pieces – a tie, pocket square, or accessory – and add some enlivening contrast to an otherwise dull look.

But again, restraint is more important than the colour itself.  A pink tie with a navy suit looks great. But a pink hankie, pair of socks, shirt, and tie will have you looking like a real estate agent in a marquee at the races.

Use The Colour Wheel To Help With Suit Colours

If you do want to mix it up with different tones, we have one suggestion. Look up the colour wheel. It’s a universally-accepted framework for optimal colour marriages, and which colours should avoid each other like Steve Stifler and polite company.

The colour wheel also points you towards tones that make optimal complement and contrast combinations. If you’re struggling for shirt and tie combos, or can’t quite figure out which shade works with which, the colour wheel is a brilliant tool that takes the hard work out of your hands.

Employ Colour Blocking In Your Wardrobe

Tired of the same old tricks? Try colour blocking. Commonly associated with Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, the technique combines two or three solid colours in distinctive, separate blocks. It’s a bold and dramatic look, and by no means for the faint of heart.

It does, however, play tricks on the eyes. It can make you look taller if you need it, and even leaner if you pick darker tones.

However, it’s easy to get it wrong, so start with two complementing colours and work your way towards riskier combos that incorporate clashes.

Coloured Suit FAQ

What are the most versatile colours for suits?

Navy, charcoal and neutrals suits are timeless and never go out of style. They can even be used as foundation colours to create contrast with bolder and trendy hues.

How to avoid too much colour in suiting?

Have only one anchor colour and another bolder hue to complement it. If in doubt, reserve any colour for your accessories like your ties or pocket squares.

How to wear pastel coloured suits?

Make sure the cut of your suit is slim and neat, made of lightweight fabrics like linen, cotton blend or wool. A single-breasted jacket will be the easier to pull off. For trousers, keep them cropped at the ankles and wear loafers.

How To Get Ripped By Doing (Almost) Nothing

Find that part of you who has to have more, to be more.Been stuck in a rut lately and not seeing the physique goals you’re after? Then it’s time to make some changes because what you have been doing isn’t working. Humans fear change, so if you give them too much at once, they tend to freak out and go right back to their comfort zones. So small changes can be the key to lasting body results. Read and learn.

Break Old Habits

It’s time to call it quits
We all have them, but we just don’t like to admit we do, some emotionally eat chocolate, some binge on the weekends, some just can’t live without sugar hit a day; these are all habits we have developed and let our brains tell us they are ok to do.The only way to change is to break the cycle and change your mindset towards these habits, they say it takes three weeks to kick a habit truly, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, I say.Choose the one you know you need to change and go after it; you will be surprised how easy it is to give up.

Eat More…Healthy Fats

What nature intended
Swap red meat for some oily fish a couple of nights a week. Fish like salmon, trout, and mackerel are packed with healthy omega – 3 fats, which help dampen inflammation in the body and boost your memory and lower your body fat. Add avocado and peanut butter to everything you can.

Snack On Protein–Rich Foods

Chocolate proteiny balls
Swap your mid-morning muffin break go for something healthy that is high in protein like raw nuts, seeds, tuna tins, protein ball, peanut butter on a rice cake, or hummus and veggie sticks.Snacking on protein-rich foods in-between meals is the best way to curb sugar cravings, and keep you satisfied until your next meal fills you up for longer. Your waistline will love you for it too.

Get Out Of The Training Plateau

Do you even lift, mate?
How long have you been going to the gym and doing the same exercises, same rep ranges, same weights?Yes, you might follow a program for a few weeks or months but what’s a bet that you’ll eventually go back to what you know best – comfort. You can’t expect your body to change if you don’t challenge it.Get yourself a structured training plan that’s progressively tailored towards your goals.

Change Your Morning Coffee Order

Big things come in small packages
How do you take your coffee each day? Your coffee choice can effect on the number of calories you consume each day.If you are a latte drinker and like it large, each cup is giving you around 340 calories. A large cappuccino contains 207 calories. The best way to lower your coffee calories is by ordering a smaller coffee, avoid adding flavoured syrups, sugars, and use a natural sweetener like stevia or even better go a short black.

Don’t Skip Breakfast

Everyone’s guilty of this
One thing so many people do is skip breakfast. Might sound cliché but breakfast is the most important meal of the day.By simply making sure you have something filling and healthy each morning like eggs, avocado and some spinach or a green protein smoothie, you will help prevent those common mid-morning energy drops and cravings for coffee and sweets.Breakfast provides you with a good proportion of your daily nutrients and helps set you up for a day of healthier eating

Actually Have A Plan

Make effective small changes for drastic results
You won’t reach your life or body goals without a solid mission plan. Get your hands on a training and nutrition plan and set yourself a target and work towards it every god damn day until you smash it, then set the bar even higher.Try implementing these small changes into your week and see your results sky rocket. It doesn’t always have to be a drastic change, sometimes the best and most lasting results come from here.Discipline is where you will see yourself progressing, a trait the military instilled in us from day one. Don’t be lazy, take ownership and make the change today; no one’s going to do it for you.Scott Evennett is a health, fitness and mindset expert who has served in the Australian Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) as an Australian Commando

Luxurious Off-Grid Escapes For Those Who Need A Break From The Real World
Luxurious Off-Grid Escapes For Those Who Need A Break From The Real World

A true digital detox can be found in North Korea. That’s because tourists visiting the country aren’t allowed online. As many a journalist has discovered, “Foreign mobiles don’t work…and local SIM cards are expensive and unreliable.”

So when you say you need a digital detox; think carefully about what you mean, because unless you want to end up wiping your ass on leaves in Kim Jong’s DMZ, you need to be discerning about where you pick.

These are the cool places we’d recommend instead for a rejuvenation stint.

Bubbletent, Capertee Valley, Australia

5 star hotels have nothing on this giant transparent bubble, in which you can spend the night under millions of twinkling stars. Thanks to Bubbletent’s Aussie-first inflatable ‘glamping’ tent, which sits in a remote pocket of a working farm (between Mudgee and Lithgow) you can go technology free without giving up the comforts of home.

Providing gun barrel views over Capertee Valley, this state of the art bubble isn’t just good for you—it’s also good for the environment, designed to have a zero carbon footprint. And despite being off the grid, its plush queen-sized bed, cooking facilities and separate bathroom area ensure you aren’t sacrificing on comfort. Oh and there’s also a telescope for late-night stargazing, which you can do from the comfort of your bed.

Aro Hā Wellness Retreat, Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand

The idea behind this getaway is this: when you escape to the edge of the world, it’s not enough to expect some vague notion of a digital detox to make you feel all warm and gooey inside. No. What you need is to spend a little time on (luxurious) self-improvement.

At the Aro Hā Retreat, in New Zealand’s southern alps, you can do just that, making the most of the Vinyasa yoga sessions, hiking routes and spa. However the biggest draw of this 20-room lodge is its setting—from your eco-friendly suite you’ll be surrounded by immense sapphire waters and snowcapped peaks.

Icehotel, Jukkasjärvi, Sweden

If seeing the Northern Lights has been on your bucket list since forever, but has taken a backseat to easier, more kid friendly holidays, now might be the time to revisit the idea. And this Ice Hotel is the vogue way to do it. Just 125 miles north of the Arctic Circle, this hotel is rebuilt every winter with the help of artists from around the world, and offers both ‘cold’ (made of ice) and ‘warm’ (normal) rooms, plus a legitimate Icebar.

As always, fortune favours the brave: those who are bold enough to book below-freezing accommodation will find their expertly-chiseled rooms stocked with reindeer hides and thermal sleeping bags, and bathrooms housed in a separate ‘warm’ section. And of course, from here you can join the Northern Lights Safari, available between September and March.

Conscious Earth, Algarve, Portugal

Leaving aside the fact that speeding is Portugal’s national sport (soccer comes in at a close second), the Algarve is the perfect place to switch off and relax (after being overtaken for the 20th time you’ll really appreciate the zen, too). And this restorative retreat is the perfect antidote to the tech-driven, overwhelming busyness of life.

Made up of a 40 hectare eco-estate nestled in the hills of Southern Portugal, this place is ideally located for you to enjoy all the beauty of the Algarve coast—and far enough away from the tourist towns for you to really breathe. Completely WiFi-free and with (almost) no mobile phone signal, there’s no better excuse to immerse yourselves in the natural delights of mother nature, living amongst sweet-scented olive and citrus groves, wildlife-steeped lakes and a sparkling river.

People To People Yoga Retreat, Cuba

Like Russia but sunny! Say what you like about communism: at least it provides equal opportunity to disconnect from the world wide web. In Cuba, for example, a special permit is required to go online (tourists can buy them from ETSECA offices) and all use is closely monitored. And although Wi-Fi hotspots (which charge $2 per hour) can be found in big cities, much of the country lives offline. If this isn’t enough to motivate you to leave the laptop at home, you may be a lost cause.

Try this retreat for daily yoga practice, salsa music and dance workshops, relaxing by the beach, historical tours of Old Havana, day trips to the local cigar factory and ecological lunches. People To People Yoga Retreat is also unique in that it encourages you to stay with a local, host family in order to get a real taste of the culture and Caribbean lifestyle.

Want To Look Like Brad Pitt: Here Are His 20 Most Stylish Haircuts
Want To Look Like Brad Pitt: Here Are His 20 Most Stylish Haircuts

Widely regarded as one the best-looking and most stylish men ever to walk the earth, Brad Pitt is an aspirational figure for many gents. Not only is he one of the biggest movie stars to grace the silver screen and can regularly be seen with an attractive lady on his arm, but Brad knows how to make himself look good.

Clothing is one thing, and something us guys can imitate relatively easily. It helps to have a similar figure, of course (and for a man at 56 years young, he doesn’t look half bad) but his hairstyles really are the icing upon the well-dressed cake. And having follicle superiority means Brad Pitt is able to sport a range of different and wonderful haircuts. From shaved, buzz cut weirdo in Fight Club to his 70’s inspired big hair don’t care Once Upon A Time In Hollywood bouffant thing, Brad’s hair really has seen it all. And of course, who can forget his slick-back undercut from Fury?.

So while a certain David Beckham may receive his fair share of attention for his ever-changing haircuts and hairstyles, Brad Pitt follows closely behind as a source of inspiration for men everywhere. If you’re someone who’s about to – or has – hit middle age, then Brad’s hairstyles will keep you looking and feeling young.

Here are some of his best.

Brad Pitt Undercut

Brad Pitt Haircut - Undercut

We’ll start with one of Brad’s most daring, but also one of his absolute best hairstyles: the undercut. Seen in the movie Fury, Brad’s undercut is slick-back and heavily military-inspired. The undercut is essentially defined as a haircut that has short sides and long hair on top. Compare this to a fade haircut that will usually see shorter hair on top coupled with faded sides.

Brad’s hairstyle could technically be classed as a disconnected undercut because the hair on the sides is short right up to point where it meets the top of the head. Some undercuts make use of a fade haircut on the sides before meeting the longer hair on top.

Brad Pitt Short Hairstyles

Brad Pitt Haircut - Short Haircut

For much of his movie career, Brad Pitt has rocked various short hairstyles. Mainly around the 90s and early 00s. Think Se7en and Ocean’s Eleven. In these movies, Brad can be seen rocking a crop style haircut that was known back then as the killer crop.

One of the all-time classic haircuts, this crop requires short back and sides which don’t necessarily demand to be faded, with slightly longer, messier hair on top. This can be achieved by asking your barber to point cut the hair on top using scissors.

He rocked a similar hairstyle in Ocean’s Eleven, although this time he appeared to have introduced some blonde highlights. It’s a cleaner crop than the one in Se7en too, but still pertains the use of short back and sides and textured length on top.

Brad Pitt Inglourious Basterds Haircut

Brad Pitt Haircut - Inglourious Basterds Haircut
Image: @59pv

Brad Pitt was certainly setting himself up for his Fury undercut when he rocked a side-part hairstyle in Inglourious Basterds. Taking on the role of  Lieutenant Aldo Raine in the 1940s-era war film, Brad Pitt’s haircut was just as smooth as the smooth-talking officer and is a style that can look great on most guys.

Brad’s style is technically a hard part, defined as such due to the shaved line toward the side of the head to clearly disconnect the longer portion of hair from the shorter side, which, in Brad’s case, has been faded slightly. This isn’t mandatory for a hard part, but it adds that extra bit of contrast. A soft part, by the way, would have longer hair on the side and a less defined contrast between the two.

Brad Pitt Mr and Mrs Smith Haircut

When Brad Pitt went toe to toe with ex-wife Angeline Jolie in the action-comedy Mr and Mrs Smith, he rocked a buzz cut fitting for any wannabe assassin. The buzz cut is famed for being the ultimate in low-maintenance and will even be the most affordable hairstyle you can obtain at a barber shop.

Alternatively, since it calls for one length all over, you could do it at home yourself. But if you want some fading on the sides, we’d recommend going to the professionals.

Brad Pitt Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Haircut

One of Brad’s latest movie ventures was Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Not only did it deliver a compelling storyline, an awesome soundtrack and some great fashion choices, but Brad Pitt’s hairstyle was also a focal point onscreen. A side part hairstyle of sorts, Brad’s hair in this movie is much longer than the side part seen in Inglourious.

His hair is allowed to fall naturally, while still keeping the definition between the side and top. Considering the length, it’s surprisingly low maintenance too, with virtually no styling products insight. You may want to use a hairdryer to give it a little volume, should you want to rock a similar look.

Brad Pitt Long Haircut

We’ve covered a fair amount of short hairstyles, now it’s time to take a look at some of the longer hairstyles Brad Pitt has rocked throughout the years. One of his most recent came at the Academy Awards which took place in February 2020.

His hairstyle here was just above shoulder length – so could technically be a medium-length haircut – and combed over to perfection. However, he has been seen with longer locks in previous years, such as in the early 2000s movie Troy.

Pitt styled his luscious locks by employing a natural parting, which you can achieve by using some wax or clay. The shoulder-length style is also ripe for tying into a man bun, and if your hair is particularly thick and textured, will work a charm.
