After trying Sydney’s most luxurious new infrared sauna, I’m totally drinking the Kool-Aid – quite literally, as it turns out, ’cause you gotta stay hydrated…
I’m a sucker for a good sauna. My best mate from high school went on exchange to Finland for his ~gap yahr~ and therefore developed an addiction and appreciation for a blisteringly hot sauna, which he also got me hooked on. For years, we’ve conducted an informal yet dedicated review of Sydney’s best public saunas. We take saunas seriously.
But something we’d never tried before was an infrared sauna. Unlike a traditional sauna, where you experience heat as a result of conduction and convection from the heated air and by radiation of the heated surfaces in the sauna room, an infrared sauna instead just uses radiation. Infrared heaters emit infrared light, which is experienced as radiant heat which penetrates the body.
The result? This heat gets deep into your tissues, muscles and cells, increasing oxygen flow and circulation, producing a detoxifying sweat and dissolving harmful substances accumulated in your body, in a deeper cleansing experience than your average sauna.
That all sounds good on paper, but the prospect of essentially roasting yourself under heat lamps sounds a bit strange (or, at least, stranger than steam off hot rocks). That’s why when I was offered the chance to try out a 50-minute session at Rimba Sweat, a luxury infrared sauna near Manly Beach in Sydney, I was curious, but a little hesitant.
I’m glad I went, however, as it was truly worthwhile.

Unlike the sometimes rather gross sauna you might be used to at your local swimming pool, Rimba Sweat offers a properly unique experience. It’s special not just because infrared saunas are uncommon in Australia, but also because it’s a proper luxury experience.
It’s like some sort of Santorini day spa, just fewer hot tubs and more hot boxes. You immediately get zen vibes as soon as you step inside – and those vibes only increase once you start sweating it out in one of the saunas. They offer both individual or twin saunas, so you can sweat with a mate if you like, and I took my sauna aficionado mate with me to do just that.
It’s rather different heating experience, as you’re essentially being heated from the inside out rather than the outside in. Infrared saunas don’t have to get as hot in order for you to feel the same effect as a traditional sauna: the average ambient temperature in an infrared sauna is usually 40-60°C compared to 70-90°C in traditional saunas, which means they’re arguably safer and less harsh on the body.
RELATED: Australian Boxer Harry Garside Reveals Ice Bath Alternative Anyone Can Try
While it takes a bit of time to heat up, once the infrared sauna starts going, you start working up a proper sweat very quickly, which surprised me. What was also surprising was how much more bearable it was. Sometimes when you’re in a really hot steam sauna, it can be hard to breathe, especially if you’re standing up or sitting on an upper bench. But you don’t have the same problem in an infrared sauna.
Also, because there’s no steam, Rimba Sweat’s saunas even have tablets built in, so you can watch a film or listen to some music. There’s even a multicoloured chromotherapy light. Apparently, the different colours are supposed to help you relax or stay energised depending on what colour therapy you want… Sounded like a bit of ‘woo’ to me, but it looked cool, so whatever.

Each private sauna room has its own shower – thank god, because I was sweating like a pig afterwards. Yet despite how intense the sweat it produced was, I didn’t feel the same sense of fatigue that I sometimes get with a traditional sauna. Quite the contrary: it was a much more relaxing, soothing experience. My skin also felt way better afterwards.
Some of the health benefits of infrared saunas may be up for debate but I can say from my own experience that I found it to be a far easier, less aggressive undergoing than a traditional sauna session that produced similar if not better results. My sauna expert mate agreed.
RELATED: The Health Benefits Of Saunas
As we left, a rugby player fresh from his morning match rolled in, ready for a recuperative sauna session. That’s perhaps not a surprise, as that’s one of the main use cases for an infrared sauna like this: infrared sauna sessions are great for muscle fatigue and recovery. No wonder sporty Manly locals and pro surfers love coming into Rimba Sweat. No doubt the luxurious fit-out is icing on the cake…
All in all, I was pretty impressed with the infrared sauna experience. The fact that it’s so much less harsh on you than a traditional sauna means that it’s something you can easily incorporate into your daily routine. Indeed, it’s rather meditative, on top of the other health benefits it offers – no wonder luxury infrared sauna spots like Rimba Sweat’s are in such high demand right now.
My only piece of advice? Stay hydrated. Even though there’s no steam doesn’t mean you don’t need any water…

Australian musician, Guy Sebastian has walked 500kms and raised a staggering $1 million dollars, all in the name of mental health.
Guy Sebastian has been one busy fellow since he won Australian Idol back in 2003. The singer/songwriter has released ten top albums, represented Australia at Eurovision and has been a coach on The Voice Australia for the last few years.
But that’s not all. Sebastian also created The Sebastian Foundation with his wife, Jules Egan. Formed in 2013, The Sebastian Foundation has worked on multiple projects that have bettered the Australian community over the years.
The latest project, ‘Step Change For Mental Health’ just took place and Sebastian himself was heavily involved. After a 12-year-old Wagga Wagga girl went for a walk but then tragically took her own life because of severe online bullying last year, Sebastian and his best friend, Tim Freeburn, pledged to walk the 500kms from Wagga Wagga to Sydney, to ultimately raise funds for mental health programs to be run in schools across Australia.
The gruelling walk took Sebastian and Freeburn 14 days to complete and raised a whopping $1 million. As a result, Dr Hayley Watson, clinical psychologist and school mental health expert, praised Sebastian on LinkedIn.
“This incredible man is not only a pop star and a legend in his own right… He and his best mate just walked 500kms across rural NSW over the past 14 days, raising an incredible $1 million…”
Dr Hayley Watson

Dr Watson also further explained how this incredible program will work now that it’s got some serious funding behind it.
“The program provides schools with weekly student mental health lessons for the whole school year, based around documentary stories of real youth sharing their stories of overcoming challenges, to break down barriers of prejudice and stigma. There is also support for parents and teachers, as they navigate the vitally important role of shaping healthy, whole young minds”.
Dr Hayley Watson
Sebastian is yet to post about completing the walk and reaching his fundraising goal of $1 million. But he did post some footage of the walk on Instagram last week, when he and Freeburn were almost halfway from Wagga Wagga to Sydney, and wrote, “Wow we are feeling it today. Not an inch on our bodies aren’t aching.”
WATCH: Guy Sebastian at the halfway point of his Step Change For Mental Health walk…
Whether you’re a fan of his music or not, you can’t deny this was a seriously impressive feat and Sebastian deserves Australia’s ultimate respect; sorry Shannon Noll fans… But hey, at least Sebastian used Nollsy’s song Lift in his video (which you can watch above).

The following article was produced in partnership with Mouqy eyewear.
A solid chunk of Australia’s workforce will spend several hours each day sitting in front of a computer. Whether it’s sitting in an office, working from home or working remotely from some far-flung destination, the computer rules us all.
And yet we’re still naive to the negative effects spending so much time in front of a screen can have on our eyes. Many of us may have already succumbed to digital eye health issues and now spend our days wearing glasses. If this is you, then you need to know about Mouqy Eyewear.
Mouqy Eyewear is an up-and-coming eyewear brand that places a strong emphasis on affordability, accessibility and quality. Mouqy’s online store has hundreds of eyeglass frames to choose from in a range of fun styles to suit any taste – be it modern, minimalist, retro or anything in between. Their glasses come in a range of materials, including acetate and metal frames – and colours, the majority of which will only set you back around $20 (before picking what lenses you like).

Because they understand that the lack of any physical stores means you can’t try your glasses on before you buy, Mouqy offers an intuitive and accurate virtual-try-on feature, which uses your laptop or smartphone camera to show you just how good you look in a fresh pair of frames.
Better still, you can input your current prescription during the seamless checkout process, and Mouqy’s team of engineers will take care of the rest, sending you your very own pair of prescription glasses directly to your door.
A range of lenses can be specified during the checkout process, with different types suiting certain prescription strengths – but no matter which lens style you choose, all come with the option of adding blue light blocking technology to help prevent eye strain.

All Mouqy glasses come with their own case and for a limited time, Mouqy is offering free shipping on all Australian orders (shipping is always free in the US). As an extra bonus, DMARGE readers can get 10% off their order using the discount code, DMARGE10 at the checkout.

Digital creator Antonio Pozo, who is known for his glamorous, wanderlust-inspiring photos, recently took to Instagram with a video showing what Santorini’s like behind the scenes.
Travel influencer Antonio Pozo has taken to social media with a doozy. He has shown the difference between what you see in a travel blogger’s carefully curated footage of Santorini, and what many of these hotspots typically look like (he also shares a genius hack for avoiding the crowds).
The video starts with a beautiful sunrise, over an immaculate white roadside fence, upon which Antonio is posing, apparently free from people. It then cuts to another shot of Antonio strolling other a gleaming white dome, this time with the sparkling blue sea in the background.
RELATED: The European Freedom Australian Tourists Can’t Handle
Things quickly change though. To back up the claim of the video (“Instagram vs. Reality”), the clip quickly shifts to another scene where Antonio is standing on a cobbled street on a hill full of people, and then another where he is surrounded by other tourists, warbling along with cameras, and so forth.
WATCH: Travel Blogger Shows The Difference Between Instagram & Reality In Santorini
He captions the video: “The little town of Oia, Santorini is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been . But remember, if you want to avoid the crowd and create good content make sure to wake up very early for sunrise to make it happen
. If not, I think it would be quite difficult.”

After seeing the above comparison, we’ll take his word for it. Either that or just opt for a cooler, lesser-known destination… Not to mention: in the kind of heat Europe is experiencing right now, most tourists will probably be glad to be anywhere near a body of water – crowded as that body of water (or the streets near it) may be.

The Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux have been fighting it out for the title of Australia’s best-selling car for years – but Ford’s latest update to their tough ute should have Toyota very, very nervous.
Aussies love utes. Previously the domain of tradies and farmers, these days utes have become the default family car. Big dual-cab utes like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux dominate Australian roads (and monthly sales figures) because they can kind of do everything: carry huge loads, ferry about a whole family in comfort, and rather crucially, perform well off-road.
In fact, the only thing Aussies love more than utes is modifying their utes, for both work and play. Few Aussies leave their utes stock. Toolboxes, bullbars, lift kits, big tyres, winches, radios, spotlights… The modification scene for modern utes is huge and has only grown over the last two years during COVID.
Lockdowns, border closures and the dearth of international travel have inspired (or forced, depending on which way you look at it) us to explore our own backyards – which has frequently meant travelling behind the wheel of a specially modified dual-cab ute with four-wheel drive. And Ford Australia has been paying close attention to that.
We had the chance to drive the new second-generation T6 Ranger late last week, and it’s an impressive car for many reasons.
The highlight for many buyers will be the new 3.0L ‘Power Stroke’ V6 turbo-diesel engine option that makes 184kW and a hefty 600Nm of torque – or fun touches like the tray step behind the rear wheels for easy tray access – but for us, the real story behind the new Ranger is the modification support.

Ford Ranger Accessories
Ahead of the vehicle’s launch, Ford has worked with ARB, arguably the leading brand in the off-road accessory space, to produce and co-engineer a range of 160+ ARB “Ford Licensed Accessories”, including bullbars, side steps, tradie trays and canopies.
Not only do these parts look great and function well – they’ve got a real ‘OEM+’ vibe to them, which is because that’s essentially what they are – they’re all covered by Ford’s 5-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and can be purchased and fitted at Ford dealerships.
That is a total game-changer. The first thing most Aussies do when they get a new ute delivered is to go off and modify it, so the fact that straight out the gate, there are all these parts ready for the car that will fit perfectly and even work with all your car’s safety tech is a godsend for customers. Plus, they’re covered by your car’s factory warranty instead of the normal ARB 18-month warranty.
RELATED: Check Out This Mental Porsche Cayenne Off-Road Project
The best part is that the installation of these parts is ‘baked in’ to the delivery time of your new Ranger. Waiting times for parts and installation at ARB workshops in Australia right now already extend well beyond a year in some cases. Now, Ford is letting you ‘jump the queue’ to a degree (although waiting lists for new Ranger deliveries are already quite long…)
If you don’t want to have your ARB parts installed at the dealer or by ARB, Ford have even considered modification support when designing the car, meaning there are fewer panels to drill through or bumpers you have to cut out to install popular mods. There’s even a dedicated space under the bonnet for a second battery to run accessories like fridges off of. Ford has really thought of everything.

We haven’t really ever seen this level of manufacturer support for modification in Australia before. It speaks to the value of Australian ingenuity: it’s only because Ford designed, engineered and tested the new Ranger here that they were able to get this sort of insight into their customers.
RELATED: ‘Tradie Approved’ Cars Fast Becoming Unlikely Status Symbols For Australian Men
Toyota doesn’t have anything like this… And that’s before we start talking about other features of the new Ford Ranger, which totally blow the Hilux out of the water.
The Blue Oval’s infotainment systems have long been miles ahead of Toyota’s, and now the Ranger has a huge 12-inch centrally-mounted screen. The interior fit and finish is better and more luxurious than the Hilux. The Ranger even looks better than the Hilux, thanks to its bold new “c-clamp” grille.
Another big selling point is its integrated trailer braking system, which is ideal for both tradies and caravanners alike. The electrical system is intuitive and integrates with the car’s blind spot warning system, boasts 10 customisable trailer profiles and even a light-check mode that cycles through your indicators, brake lights, reversing lights and so on, which takes all the guess-work out.
You can fit a Euro pallet in the back, there are special integrated tie-down points for strapping down loads, there are special front and rear cameras for you to check your departure angles, plenty of off-road driving modes that take the guesswork out of 4x4ing… There are so many cool features in the new Ranger, we could go on for days.
But it’s the modification support that’s really quite unique, and we predict it’ll be the biggest selling point for Aussies. It’ll be the tipping point that will see even rusted-on Toyota fans consider swapping to a Ford.

Ford Ranger vs Toyota Hilux
When it comes to the sales war between Ford and Toyota, to an extent, Toyota has been coasting on its reputation for reliability above all else. Most revheads are familiar with Top Gear’s famous “indestructible Hilux,” for example. Just as the Toyota Corolla is the archetypal car for many motorists, the Hilux is the archetypal ute.
That’s particularly funny in the context of Toyota’s rivalry with Ford, as Ford actually invented the ute. In 1932, Ford Australia was motivated to produce a “coupé utility” after receiving a letter from a farmer’s wife asking for “a vehicle to go to church in on a Sunday and which can carry our pigs to market on Mondays.”
It’s also hard to understand when the new Ranger is just so much better than basically any other similar vehicle Toyota is making currently, from quality to performance to tech – and with sharper pricing, too. Comparing the fit and finish of the new Ranger to the new Land Cruiser, for instance, really embarrasses the latter.
RELATED: Toyota Land Cruiser Blood Pact Shows How Crazy Australia’s Car Market Has Become
Yes, it’s hard to deny that in the Outback, Toyota is king. Rural parts availability for Toyotas is just leagues ahead of anything any other manufacturer can offer. Ford definitely has an uphill battle if they ever want to supplant Toyota in that regard, and we’re not sure any brand can.
But Ford’s brilliant approach to modification support is a real point of difference, and might just be enough to finally tip the balance in Ford’s favour.

Bryan Cranston – best known for his roles in Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle and Trumbo – has admitted he’s working on a new show but that his role is a “highly kept secret”. Spoiler alert: the following article contains spoilers for Your Honor.
Everyone has been waiting with bated breath to see Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul’s cameos as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the final season of Better Call Saul.
But everyone has also been speculating why Cranston now looks almost unrecognisable – if you haven’t seen a recent picture, for the last month or so, the Emmy-winning actor has been rocking a new look, complete with long hair and a dishevelled beard.
Most think it’s for a role but some have questioned whether Cranston has just ‘let himself go’.
WATCH: Bryan Cranston talks about ‘Your Honor’ Season 2 and teases what the beard is for…
Well, now we know for certain that Cranston has not let himself go and his new look is for a ‘secret’ role. Cranston appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and was asked why he’d grown the beard and how he would describe his appearance. Cranston laughed and replied,
“Well DP, I’d probably describe it as an old lion being eaten by jackals… Um, no I am doing a show; I’m doing a show. Actually, I’m in really good shape, I had to, I dropped a lot of weight. I’m now at 169 [pounds] for my 5’11 height and my nutritionist says I’m still gaining in muscle, so hey, at 66 [years old] man, I can’t argue with that.”
Bryan Cranston
Cranston was then asked what we’re all dying to know: what is the role/show that requires Cranston to look this way. Sadly, Cranston didn’t crack.
“I can’t tell you that. It’s a little bit of a secret.”
Bryan Cranston

Cranston went on to briefly discuss his friendship with Breaking Bad co-star Paul before revealing there will be a second season of Your Honor, the critically-acclaimed 2020 drama series Cranston starred in. Dan Patrick then pressed, to no avail, whether the beard and long hair are for the second season of Your Honor.
“I’m not at liberty to discuss that. It is a highly kept secret here in the entertainment world and we keep those, you know, close to heart.”
Bryan Cranston
Hopefully, Cranston is allowed to reveal the top-secret role that demands this new rugged look soon. The suspense is killing us!

Feeling amorous? If so, it turns out there are a few exercises that you should be doing at the gym that’ll help you have the best sex possible.
There’s nothing worse than not performing well in the bedroom. Seriously, no one wants to earn a reputation as being ‘bad in bed’.
One surefire way to improve your sex life is through exercise. But some exercise styles are better than others when it comes to sex. So, if you’re wanting to spice things up or just be a better lover, here are the exercises that’ll do so. You, and your partner, can thank us later…
Cardio

First of all, you need to be doing cardio; whether that be running, swimming, cycling or some other form. This is because studies have proven that regularly engaging in cardiovascular exercise stimulates blood flow throughout the entire body, which leads to stronger erections.
Plus, cardio can even reduce erectile dysfunction for those gents dealing with the common but frustrating problem.
Kettlebell Swings, Hip Thrusts & Glute Bridges

Kettlebell swings, hip thrusts and glute bridges should also feature in your regular exercise routine if you’re wanting to improve your sex life. These exercises increase both your stamina and glute strength – which are essential to good sex, no matter which position you’re a fan of…
To perform kettlebell swings effectively hold a kettlebell with both hands using an overhand grip. Hinge at the hips and bend the knees slightly, and drive your hips forward to swing the kettlebell up and out in front of you to shoulder height. Make sure you’re not using your arms too much to swing the kettlebell up, as the exerting force should come from your lower body and core. Also, ensure that you squeeze your glutes tightly when you swing the kettlebell up.
Hip thrusts are performed by setting your back – just below your shoulder blades – against an elevated surface, like a bench, while your knees are bent and your feet are flat on the ground. Then push through your heels, which should be shoulder-width apart, and raise your body until your thighs are parallel to the floor and your legs form a 90-degree angle. Keep your chin tucked the entire time and squeeze your glutes at the top, hold for a few seconds, and then return to your starting position. We recommend doing weighted hip thrusts, meaning you place a barbell, dumbbell, plate or kettlebell over your crotch and hold it in place while you do your reps.
To perform a glute bridge, simply lay on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground. Your feet and knees should be hip-width apart and your arms should be lying flat on either side of you. Lift your hips off the ground until your knees, hips and shoulders are in a straight line and squeeze your glutes tightly. Hold for a few seconds and then gently ease your hips back down. Repeat.
Kegel Exercises

Another essential for better sex are pelvic floor or kegel exercises. Sure, most people will hear ‘kegel exercises’ and think they’re only beneficial to women but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In fact, kegel exercises have been proven to help prevent premature ejaculation in men. If you’re unsure how to exercise your kegels, the simplest way is to just contract and hold your pelvic floor muscles for a few seconds, release them, and then repeat 10-20 times.
Yoga

And finally, drop into a yoga class every once in a while. One study found that men’s sexual desire, intercourse satisfaction, sexual performance, sexual confidence, partner synchronisation, erection performance, ejaculatory control and orgasms improved significantly after starting and then regularly practising yoga. Also: flexibility… Need we say more?

It’s a rite of passage for young Aussie men to put an obnoxiously loud exhaust on one’s car. But be warned: authorities in Victoria are clamping down on this time-honoured tradition…
It’s bad news for hoons; the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is teaming up with Victoria Police to crack down on and enforce laws for loud vehicles.
Drive reports that last week, the EPA conducted special exhaust noise emission tests at Altona Police Station in Melbourne’s inner west, with some cars tested being slapped with infringement notices of over $900 for being too loud.
If $900 seems like a lot for a bit of tailpipe music, that’s getting off lightly. Anyone can report a loud vehicle to Victoria Police, who then advise the EPA. Then the EPA can hit you with a Vehicle Testing Notice, which requires your vehicle to be presented for testing at an approved facility in order to gain a Certificate of Compliance.
Ignore the notice and you can be hit with a $1,090 fine. If the matter reaches court, fines can even exceed $5,000. Even with the ridiculous used car prices right now, you could easily buy a decent-sounding car for 5k… Similar fines can be handed out in other states, too.

It’s a hell of a dilemma for a revhead. Do you sacrifice performance and street cred by fitting a more restrictive, less loud exhaust? Or do you continue being a noise nuisance and run the risk of being hit with big fines?
This is why many performance cars increasingly come with active exhaust control. Essentially how this works is that the exhaust system features valves that can open and close depending on driving conditions or driver input. Many cars feature a button toggle that opens up the exhaust valves, which boosts performance… And makes your exhaust louder.
We here at DMARGE have dubbed this the ‘malaka button’ because by activating it, you can really act like a malaka if you want… Or, deactivate it, and you can cruise around without offending sticks-in-the-mud.
RELATED: Modern Performance Car ‘Malaka Button’ Leaves Australian Motoring Purists Fuming
Regardless of your stance on exhaust note volume, it’s important to make sure your car gets regularly serviced if you want to maintain peak performance as well as a reasonable exhaust note.

Mufflers degrade over time, becoming louder while also becoming more restrictive. Exhaust leaks can also cause excess noise and lead to big performance drops. Additionally, active exhaust control valves can also jam, either locking up or staying open, meaning your malaka button becomes useless.
If you want to maximise performance while keeping your car’s exhaust at polite volumes, consider supporting mods. High-flow mufflers and catalytic converters can make a big difference, as can using high-quality engine oils and fuel.
Alternatively, buy an electric car and you’ll never have to worry about loud exhausts ever again… But where’s the fun in that?

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star Chris Evans recently revealed that he’s more like his character, Steve Rogers, than we thought… Allow us to elaborate.
In both the Marvel comics and the MCU films, Steve Rogers AKA Captain America is commonly known as ‘the man out of time’ as he was frozen during World War II and woke up in the 21st century.
Understandably, Rogers then struggles to adapt to his new surroundings; especially when it comes to technology as it advanced significantly during the time period Cap was frozen.
And it seems that in real life, Chris Evans, the actor who played Rogers, relates to that struggle. Evans only upgraded his phone for the first time in years a few weeks ago; the actor shared on Instagram that his iPhone 6S had ‘died’ and therefore, he had switched to a newer model.

What’s unusual about Evans not upgrading his phone up until now is that as an A-list celebrity, he would have easily been able to afford a new phone, (or two or three!) meaning there’s some other reason The Gray Man actor has been averse to new tech for the last few years.
Thankfully, in a recent interview with Collider, Evans has revealed all. He’s not a fan of newer phones because they don’t have a home button and because they’re too heavy.
“I’m just saying, do I miss the home button? Yeah, I do. I feel like my new phone is too heavy. I know that makes me the oldest dinosaur in the world, but the problem is… It’s right here. It’s right here. I’m going to talk some sh*t right now. Because as I hold it, you use the pinky to brace it, and it feels too heavy. It’s too heavy.”
Chris Evans

Evans went on to say that while many commented on his Instagram post suggesting what phone he should have upgraded to (our suggestion would have been to have waited for the iPhone 14), all he desperately wants is his iPhone 6S back.
“I had a thousand who are like, ‘Get the SE!’ I’m like, no, I don’t want [that], I want the iPhone 6. I want something from before to work until it doesn’t work anymore.”
Chris Evans
Look, we get it. There are days when we sorely miss the iPod. But perhaps, Evans should just take note of the advice Peggy Carter gave Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier: “The world has changed, and none of us can go back. All we can do is our best. And sometimes the best that we can do is to start over [with a new phone].” We may have added that last bit…
