Is ‘Dogecoin Killer’ Shiba Inu About To Go On A Massive Rally?
Is ‘Dogecoin Killer’ Shiba Inu About To Go On A Massive Rally?

Dogecoin just went crazy. Now experts think that fellow dog-themed memecoin Shiba Inu (SHIB) could be hot on its heels. Discover everything you need to know about SHIB in this comprehensive price prediction.

Earlier this week, the price of Dogecoin (DOGE) surged more than 100% following the news that Elon Musk had officially acquired Twitter and would be making some drastic changes to the social media platform.

Now, a few different experts suspect that a delayed rally for similarly pooch-themed cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) could be on the cards. Yesterday, senior analysts at FX Street published a technical projection that predicts that SHIB will likely experience a 40% increase in price over the coming days.

They’re not the only ones that predict a SHIB really in the near future. New data from the blockchain analytics firm Santiment shows that there’s a super interesting correlation between Shiba Inu (SHIB) and DOGE.

Santiment’s technical analysis of DOGE pointing to a delayed SHIB rally.

At the time of writing SHIB is trading for US$0.000012 (AU$0.000019) and commands a market cap of US$6.6 billion (AU$10.5 billion) making it the 13th largest crypto asset. It is currently up a respectable 7.8% from this time last week.

SHIB’s past correlation with Dogecoin

Historically, the price of SHIB  tends to follow DOGE, with SHIB often witnessing a delayed rally once the price of DOGE begins to subside. This is because speculators that missed out on DOGE gains are looking to pump their bags elsewhere, and what better token to pump than a fellow dog-themed memecoin?

One of the other reasons to think that SHIB could see a fundamental uptick in prices over the coming weeks is that throughout the bear market — which has seen roughly US$2 trillion vanish from crypto markets — the developers behind the Shiba Inu ecosystem have been hard at work building out a host of cool new features for SHIB holders.

Developers have been hard at work on SHIB

Earlier this year, developers revealed that SHIB could now be used to buy up parcels of virtual land in the SHIB Metaverse.

Despite the popular narrative that paints SHIB out to be a simple shitcoin solely driven by hype the tweets of Twitter’s new CEO, the SHIB ecosystem has also grown to support non fungible tokens (NFTs) and the decentralised finance (DeFi) platform ShibaSwap.

Adding more to the bull case for this token, in April this year, developers launched the SHIB burning portal ‘ShibBurn’, which has seen more than 100 billion SHIB, or US$500,000 taken out of circulation by being ‘burned’. When tokens are burned it means that they are deleted forever, making all of the remaining SHIB in circulation more valuable as a result.

Since SHIB’s inception in August 2020, approximately 450.32 trillion SHIB — roughly 45% of the token’s total supply — have now been burned.

SHIB Price Prediction Conclusions

With all of this in mind, the reason that these tokens experience such enormous swings in value is because they’re fundamentally speculative assets. While there’s a lot of evidence that points towards a likely SHIB rally, recent moves from the US Federal Reserve to keep jacking up interest rates paints a bleak picture for cryptocurrencies moving forward.

Major crypto pumps don’t occur in a vacuum. If everyone’s too scared to put their money into markets because they’re scared of inflation and increasing interest rates then there’s no reason to think that SHIB will go on a face melting run.

With that being said, Binance — the world’s largest crypto exchange — just introduced a new financial product called the ‘Bluebird Index’ which is a portfolio that includes a massive amount of DOGE. Couple this with the exchange’s CEO Changpeng Zhao telling Elon that he wants to help integrate crypto payments on the bird app through Binance payment services.

All of this points to a potential moment in the near future where Elon introduces DOGE for payments on the Twitter platform. If this happens, inventors can be relatively sure that Dogecoin could see another big pump.

And where DOGE goes, SHIB tends to follow.

Sydney Watch Fans Went Nuts For IWC’s Watchmaking Classes At DMARGE House
Sydney Watch Fans Went Nuts For IWC’s Watchmaking Classes At DMARGE House

The following article was produced in partnership with IWC Schaffhausen.

One of the major highlights of our inaugural DMARGE House last month was the unique watchmaking classes on offer for guests courtesy of IWC Schaffhausen, one of the world’s top luxury watchmakers.

Attendees at the event had the chance to sit down with a top watchmaker, who took them through the process of disassembling and reassembling one of IWC’s impressive mechanical watch movements.

There was never a seat free at the IWC watchmaking station throughout the event, with the watchmaking classes drawing in both seasoned enthusiasts as well as horological newbies. A steady hand (and a few laughs!) were necessary to properly assemble these highly intricate watch movements, with guests using tweezers, screwdrivers and loupes to get the job done.

You’d normally have to travel halfway across the world to Switzerland to have an experience like this, which is why we were so keen to work with IWC to give DMARGE House guests such an opportunity.

Check out the IWC Schaffhausen watchmaking experience at DMARGE House 2022 below.

Also on display in the DMARGE Lounge were some of IWC’s newest and most popular watches, including their new TOP GUN collection of Big Pilot’s Watches and Pilot’s Chronographs. Guests had the chance to try on some of these in-demand pieces, worn by the likes of Tom Brady and Sir Lewis Hamilton.

“DMARGE House was great in encouraging people to take a mental health day and enjoy interesting speaker sessions and new experiences,” Quentin Chalier, IWC Schaffhausen Brand Manager for Australia and New Zealand shares.

“The watchmaking masterclass sessions were extremely popular, offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity for guests to test their watchmaking skills. We were delighted to showcase our timepieces and have the audience immersed into the world of IWC.”

Despite the miserable Sydney weather, DMARGE House 2022 was a packed house.

Hosted by Matthew Johnson, over 180 people descended on Ovolo Hotel in Sydney to listen to 15 leading entrepreneurs and captains of industry. These thought-leaders included surfboard designer Hayden Cox, Airspeed founder and aerospace entrepreneur Matthew Pearson, proprietor of Victor Churchill and Australia’s top butcher Anthony Puharich, and BTC Markets CEO Caroline Bowler.

DMARGE also used the occasion to share key insights from our second Men’s Matters study, which in partnership with Hoop Research, investigated how the cost of living crisis is impacting Australian men. More on that here.

27 Best Swim Shorts & Swimwear Brands For Men

If you’re reading this then we suspect that summer will be arriving soon (or has already arrived) wherever you live and you want to know how you can make yourself look better on the beach if that summer body just didn’t quite happen this year.

You don’t need a six-pack to attract attention on the sand (besides, dad bods are still very much in) as a perfectly styled pair of men’s swim shorts can work wonders for you and will have other beachgoers subtly checking you out from behind their sunglasses. We’re not talking about boardshorts here, but rather more tailored options that will be able to comfortably transition from seaside or poolside and straight to the hotel bar without looking out of place.

We’re also not talking about having you look like Daniel Craig in that Bond scene, as we’re really not fans of the tight trunks look. That shouldn’t be possible, however, as there are a plethora of brands out there, all of whom have extensive swimwear ranges designed to have you looking cool while you cool off.

We’ve scoured our way through the beachwear ranges currently on offer and picked out what we consider to be the coolest men’s swim shorts to buy right now.

Cristiano Ronaldo No Longer Manchester United’s ‘King Of The Gym’
Cristiano Ronaldo No Longer Manchester United’s ‘King Of The Gym’

Cristiano Ronaldo has lost his ‘King of the Gym’ title in Manchester United’s training room, according to a report.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly lost his ‘King of the Gym’ title in Manchester United’s training room.

The Portuguese striker has always had an insane workout routine, especially with his leg exercises, and was regarded as the strongest in Manchester United’s gym.

The 37-year-old reportedly leg presses up to 250 kilograms, which helped to develop his insane quadriceps and gluteal muscles.

However, according to a report from the Daily Star, Ronaldo no longer holds the Red Devils’ ‘King of the Gym’ crown.

This honour is now bestowed on to recent Manchester United signing Casemiro. Casemiro, the Brazilian midfielder, can leg press a very impressive 300 kilograms, 50 kilos more than Cristiano Ronaldo.

His efforts are said to have inspired teammates, who are pushing Ronaldo to try and regain his crown.

According to the Daily Star, a United source said: “Ronny takes a lot of pride in his fitness and how muscular his legs are – few get consistently near the amount and weight he can load up.”

“Ronny is a legs man, but it seems he may have met his match with Casemiro – he’s not the biggest guy in the world but he’s as strong as an ox and can push 300kg with his eyes shut.”

Casemiro joined Manchester United from Ronaldo’s old team Real Madrid in the summer for £60 million (AU $106.5 million).

He has impressed Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, starting the last six games for the club, scoring his first goal as a last-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in October.

Speaking of the Brazilian, ten Hag said, “I call him the cement in the midfield.”

“I think in and out of possession, he makes such a difference and he give the team [an] extra edge and helps them dominate.”

Manchester United are currently sitting fifth in the premier league table but have looked a lot stronger this year than last season, in part due to Casemiro’s presence in the midfield.

If Ronaldo is able to up the weight, we may end up seeing his new goal celebration a whole lot more frequently.

The Greatest Core Exercise Is One You’ve Never Heard Of
The Greatest Core Exercise Is One You’ve Never Heard Of

You may think ab crunches, reverse leg raises or planks will get you a strong core, and you might be right. But one expert personal trainer has revealed the core exercise he thinks doesn’t get the love it deserves.

Before you think the core exercise – which comes courtesy of British personal trainer James Smith, who cuts through all the bulls**t fitness advice posted online – is going to be as terrifying as the weighted leg crunches we reported on the other day, you can let your worries slide. This one is much easier.

Taking to Tiktok, James says his most underrated core exercise is called ‘stir the pot’ or ‘stirring the pot,’ depending on who you listen to, but they both refer to the same exercise.

RELATED: Pierre Gasly Shows Off Underrated Core Exercise You’re Not Doing

Essentially a variation of a plank or a reach-out plank, the stir the pot exercise requires you to have an exercise ball. If you don’t have an exercise ball, but you do have access to a Bosu ball (which looks like an exercise ball cut in half) then it can work just as well.

To perform the stirring the pot exercise, James said “get your forearms onto the ball, put your hands together or keep them wherever you want.”

The, “bring yourself into a high plank position. Remember, you don’t want to sag, you don’t want to extend. If anything, you’re going to want to tuck your tailbone slightly.”

“From there you’re going to imagine you’ve got a wooden spoon and a pot, thus the name, stirring the pot. Get yourself on top and you’re going to make very small stirs on the pot.” It might look simple enough, but the stir the pot exercise will seriously torch your core, as it not only requires you to engage it for stabilisation whilst balancing on the unstabilised exercise ball, but the stirring motion will recruit your entire core region.

But, you can make it more difficult if you wish. How exactly? Allow James to explain,

“To make it more difficult, you’re going to make that pot or that spoon stir wider. So, on top, slightly tucked tailbone. Bigger circles. For those of you that have got a slightly weaker core, start off small and then work up from there.”

When you come to performing the stir the pot exercise for yourself, start with 6 full rotations in both directions. As you become more confident with it, you can start increasing the number of rotations you perform.

Why does James love the stir the pot exercise so much? He explains that the beginning of his video, “In a lot of core exercises we look at anti-extension. We look at preventing from extending. If you’re doing things that are overhead that’s a great idea. But for any of you that are perhaps in other sports or just want to stabilise your core more, you get stirring the pot.”

As we mentioned earlier, if you don’t have a full-size exercise ball, then you can still perform the pot stirring using a Bosu ball. If you’re using a Bosu ball, then get yourself into the same high plank position, but instead of resting your forearms on the top surface, grab hold of the Bosu ball on either side. Keep your hands in this position – think of it as 3 and 9 on a clock – and use your weight to move the Bosu ball around in circles.

It’s important you make sure your body is in the correct plank position when performing stir the pot. It can be incredibly easy to allow your hips to drop down. If they do, you’re not going to reap the benefits of this great core exercise. It’s also important to make sure you keep the tempo slow and controlled throughout the duration. Don’t speed up just to get through the reps.

This iconic sci-fi show really doesn’t need an introduction, and I’m sorry, but if you’ve never heard of Doctor Who you must be living under a rock. The Doctor, an alien Time Lord adventurer, is able to move through space and time to problem-solve and fight injustice; and occasionally regenerates into a new ‘form’ (hence why multiple actors have played the character over the years).

Doctor Who has a cult following for being so damn good, so if you’re a fan of sci-fi and haven’t watched the series, get onto it!

Dr Death

7.6 IMDb score, stars Joshua Jackson, Christian Slater & Alec Baldwin, Crime, Drama & Thriller, released in 2021, 1 season

Inspired by a true story, Dr Death follows neurosurgeon Dr Christopher Duntsch, who both permanently maimed and killed patients during routine spinal surgeries. The mini-series also focuses on the two surgeons and the district attorney who set out to stop Duntsch and bring him to justice.

Fascinating, slightly unnerving (in a good way), and with phenomenal acting from the cast, Dr Death is great series for thriller lovers.

Fargo

8.9 IMDb score, stars Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Ted Danson, Ewan McGregor, David Thewlis & Chris Rock, Crime, Drama & Black Comedy, released in 2014, 4 seasons

Fargo is an anthology series and was inspired by the 1996 film of the same name. Each season is set in a new location and era and features different characters and cast members. The connecting thread is that each season follows some sort of murder investigation.

Fargo is critically acclaimed and lovers of the crime genre, in particular, will highly enjoy the show.

The Handmaid’s Tale

8.4 IMDb score, stars Elisabeth Moss, Drama, Sci-Fi & Thriller, released in 2017, 4 seasons

Set in a dystopic future, The Handmaid’s Tale follows June, a fertile woman (one of very few in this bleak dictatorship reality), who is forced to bear children for childless government officials. Horrifying yet engrossing and with such an important message, this critically acclaimed series is definitely one to add to your watch list.

If you liked The Hunger Games film series or Westworld, you’ll enjoy The Handmaid’s Tale.

The Inbetweeners

Image Credit: Banijay Group/Channel Four Television Corporation

Critically acclaimed for its writing, acting, directing, visual style, and historical authenticity, during its run Mad Men picked up 5 Golden Globes and 16 Emmys.

Classic and smart, Mad Men is a show you should definitely check out.

The Office (both UK & US versions)

8.5/8.9 IMDb score, stars Ricky Gervais & Martin Freeman/Steve Carell & John Krasinski, Comedy, released in 2001/2005, 3/9 seasons

The Office follows the misadventures of the various office employees of a paper company in a mockumentary style. The Office UK came first but this is a rare instance where the American adaptation became more popular and successful than the original British version.

Both versions of The Office are good for different reasons but most of your mates will claim the US is superior; so, see if you agree by watching both.

Peep Show

8.7 IMDb score, stars David Mitchell & Robert Webb, Comedy, released in 2003, 9 seasons

A prime example of superb British humour, Peep Show follows two dysfunctional friends from college as they try to live together and adjust to the ‘real world’. Peep Show is fresh but filled with dry, dark humour so snowflakes beware.

If you like The X Files, The Originals or Angel, you’ll love Supernatural.

Top Gear

8.6 IMDb score, stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond & James May, Adventure, Comedy & Reality-TV, released in 2002, 31 seasons

Artist Destroys Hundreds Of Rolex Watches For Controversial Art Piece
Artist Destroys Hundreds Of Rolex Watches For Controversial Art Piece

Well-known Los Angeles-based, Ireland-born photographer Tony Kelly’s most recent piece of art has made more than a few watch fans squirm.

The piece, titled BREAKUP, features both stills and video of an unseen woman wearing red high heels stomping on and destroying hundreds of high-end watches, with her stiletto heel shattering in-demand models such as Rolex GMT-Master ‘Pepsis’, Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks and even a Patek Philippe Nautilus ‘Tiffany Dial’.

Kelly explains that the work is inspired “by the sensational breakup between the Italian legendary footballer Francesco Totti and his wife,” elaborating:

“Items once exchanged as declarations of love become daggers used in a legal tug of war. I am fascinated how quickly context can changes everything when it comes to expensive diamonds, watches, cars and bags. These much-coveted luxuries become toxic very quickly when love and lust fizzle out!”

Tony Kelly

It’s a visually striking piece of art, but one that would easily put any watch enthusiast’s teeth on edge. Watch Tony Kelly’s BREAKUP below.

Now, before you start clutching your pearls, those watches are almost certainly fake. For one, it would be very hard to shatter a Patek or Rolex’s crystal just by stomping on them with heels like that: the sapphire crystal that high-end watch crystals are made of is extremely tough.

More relevantly, if those watches were real, Kelly would have had to have forked out tens of millions of dollars to afford them. The Tiffany Nautilus alone is worth anywhere between US$275,000 and $6.5 million…

RELATED: $6.5 Million ‘Tiffany Patek’ Auction Proves The Watch World Has Lost Its Marbles

This isn’t the first time Kelly has destroyed a high-end watch for art’s sake. In 2019, he produced a similar piece called Gold Digger, which showed a woman with candy red nails holding a broken Rolex Day-Date ‘President’, prints of which can be purchased from his website. It’s not clear whether that Rolex was fake, either.

Gold Digger, Tony Kelly, 2019.

Francesco Totti, the inspiration for BREAKUP, is one of the most famous football players of all time. The 46-year-old striker married Ilary Blasi, a former showgirl and TV host in 2005: the couple has often been referred to as the “Italian Beckhams” thanks to the obsession Italian tabloids and paparazzi have had with them.

Earlier this year in July, the pair announced their divorce, after Totti allegedly caught Blasi cheating on him with a younger man – which then prompted him to start seeing a younger woman, too.

It’s the pettiness of their divorce that has inspired Kelly. According to Corriere della Sera, Blasi took some of Totti’s Rolexes and in retaliation, Totti took some of her designer handbags. How charming.

The Bell & Ross BR-X5 Is The French Brand’s Most Impressive Watch Yet
The Bell & Ross BR-X5 Is The French Brand’s Most Impressive Watch Yet

The following article was produced in partnership with Bell & Ross.

Bell & Ross has always stood out as one of the most stylish watchmakers on the planet. Famous for their square watch designs, which are modelled after instruments found in aircraft cockpits, the French brand is a rather aesthetic outlier in an industry dominated by same-y designs and a lack of artistic flair.

Now, in 2022, they’ve added some serious substance to back up their style with their newest watch, the BR-X5: their first-ever watch with a manufacture mechanical movement, and inarguably one of the most exciting watches of 2022.

Check out the new Bell & Ross BR-X5 below.

While the watch is certainly a looker, it’s what’s under the hood that’s particularly interesting: its Manufacture Calibre BR-CAL.323. Produced in collaboration with esteemed movement maker Kenissi (who also supplies some of Switzerland’s top watch brands including Breitling, TAG Heuer and Tudor), it’s a real statement of intent from Bell & Ross.

Up until now, they’ve mostly used third-party movements from ETA in their watches – which isn’t a bad thing by any means, as ETA makes great movements – but having their own in-house movement not only makes the BR-X5 a much more unique watch, but it reflects Bell & Ross’ status as a serious watchmaker. Manufacture movements are prized by those in the know; they’re a must for any truly high-end watch brand.

The BR-CAL.323 itself is a real gem, too. Not only is it a COSC-certified chronometer movement – a first for Bell & Ross – but it boasts a 70-hour power reserve and 100m of water resistance. That means it’s totally ‘weekend proof’ and tough enough to be the perfect daily wearer.

Aesthetically, the BR-X5 impresses, too. It’s immediately distinct from other Bell & Ross watches, including the BR-05 family with which it shares a case design, thanks to its large-aperture date window at 3 o’clock and a circle-shaped power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. The latter is a particularly useful feature as it allows you to keep a closer eye on your watch’s performance… It also looks cool as hell.

Turn the BR-X5 on its side and you’ll also see that it features a unique multi-piece case construction, which is sandwiched together with four screws to be completely air-tight. Architectural and high-tech, it also “adds lightness”, as the famous car designer Colin Chapman used to say, and further emphasises just how different the BR-X5 is. A dial-coloured gasket between the bezel and main case adds additional aesthetic flair.

41mm in diameter, the BR-X5 is available in satin-brushed stainless steel with either a black or ice-blue dial (the latter of which is also rather unique and eye-catching) and on either an integrated steel bracelet or a comfy rubber strap. For those wanting an especially high-tech watch, the BR-X5 also features one variant with a case made from carbon fibre and titanium that’s even more of a head-turner.

Bell & Ross BR-X5 ‘Ice Blue Steel’ on an integrated steel bracelet (ref. BRX5R-IB-ST/SST)

All in all, the BR-X5 is a bit of a masterstroke. There’s always been plenty of reasons to buy a Bell & Ross – style, quality, legibility, and a competitive price point – but the BR-X5 is a proper game changer. This is a watch for real watch fans… Or, alternatively, the perfect place to start your luxury watch journey. Allons-y, we say.
