If you weren’t already feeling cash-strapped today, you’re about to. The annual BRW Young Rich List, which records the wealth of Australians aged 40 and under, has been released for 2016. At the top are two thirty-something Sydney lads who have led the list not once, not twice, not even three or four times…
With a combined wealth of $4.68 billion, Atlassian founders Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar nabbed the BRW Young Rich List’s top spots for a record fifth time in 2016. The duo share chief executive duties at the firm they founded in 2002, three years after meeting while studying business information technology at the University of NSW. Atlassian is best known today for its project management tool Jira and office messaging service HipChat.
Coming in at third and fourth is another pair, Dave Greiner and Ben Richardson of Campaign Monitor. Their software allows businesses to create and manage email marketing, and has earned them a combined wealth of $543 million. Perth property developer Paul Blackburne takes the fifth spot with his Blackburne Property Group and $483 million in the bank.
The remaining five spots went to an investor, another property developer, a tech entrepreneur, and two healthcare executives. The average wealth per person on the 2016 BRW Young Rich List is $123 million, up from $106 million last year. Add up all 100 names and you’re looking at a combined $12.3 billion and counting.

A special occasion calls for a special beverage, and for much of the world, that beverage is Champagne. We’re not talking about Italian Prosecco or the off-brand sparkling wine you dug out of a discount bin. We’re talking about real Champagne – the kind that must be made from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France and must follow a specific set of production practices. It’s an exclusive group, and it becomes even more exclusive when you reach its highest tiers. In the upper echelons of the upper echelons, you’ll find the world’s most expensive Champagnes. Some bottles of bubbly are so rare that they’re available only in high-end clubs or by special order. Expect to pay for the privilege of sipping such a singular elixir. Even the cheapest of the top ten clocks in at nearly a grand, and number one will set you back five figures.Check out the priciest bottles of Champagne on the planet below, courtesy of Under the Label. Note: all prices are in USD.
10. Salon Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (1.5 Litre Magnum) 2002 — $899
Salon 2002 is, according to the brand, ‘une belle âme’ – a noble soul, the soul of Champagne Salon. The wine-speak continues: iIts self-assurance and power give it the poise of a ballerina.” The palate explodes with “flavours of honeyed orange flower, candied citrus fruits and madeleine buns fresh from the oven.” Upon tasting, the wine feels “simultaneously rich and restrained, the complexity of the aromas and flavours almost precision-engineered.”
9. Champagne Krug Vintage Brut (1.5 Litre) 1988 — $949.99
Krug releases vintage wines in only truly great years. The release of Krug 1988 marked the first time in Krug’s century-and-a-half history that its vintage chronology was reversed. The Krug family opted to present the tender, warm and mature 1989 vintage first, and keep its 1988 vintage in the cellars to realise its full potential. Today, Krug 1988 explodes on the palate with tremendous depth and complexity and maintains a remarkable freshness for its long aging.
8. Champagne Krug Clos du Mesnil Blanc de Blancs 1995 — $969
The 1995 Champagne Krug Clos du Mesnil Blanc de Blancs is one of the rarest and most sought after bottlings of vintage Champagne in the world. The Champagne is characterised by crispness, freshness, and vivacity allied to the rich nutty and honey notes of great Chardonnay wines. The label calls it “a Krug for fanatics of rarity.”
7. Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill (3 Litre) 1988 — $1,175
Champagne Pol Roger created this Prestige Cuvée in homage to Sir Winston Churchill. It was designed with the qualities that he sought in his Champagne in mind: robustness, a full-bodied character, and relative maturity. The exact blend is a closely guarded family secret, but the composition would surly meet with the approval of the man who once declared “My tastes are simple, I am easily satisfied with the best.”
6. Veuve Clicquot Yellowboam Ostrich Limited (3 Litre) — $1,599
Each one of these 3,200 limited edition bottles is a hand-made tribute to the world-renowned Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. The bottles offer a new twist on the famous label: the words have disappeared, and in their place is an exotic Ostrich leather label in the brand’s famous golden hue. The bottles are also sealed with foil, covered in real 22.4 carat gold, and topped with a collectible 24-carat gold-plated muzzle cap engraved with Madam Clicquot’s signature.
5. Armand de Brignac Brut Gold (Ace of Spades) (3 Litre) — $2,239
Armand de Brignac Brut Gold – the brand’s flagship cuveé – is a singular example of the Brut Champagne tradition. Marvelously complex and full-bodied, its bouquet is both fresh and lively, with light floral notes. On the palate, the Brut Gold has a sumptuous, racy fruit character perfectly integrated with the wine’s subtle brioche accents. The Champagne’s texture is deliciously creamy, with great depth paired with a long, silky finish.
4. Champagne Krug Clos d’Ambonnay 1995 — $3,999
This single-vineyard Champagne was developed, vinified, and aged by the Krug brothers for 15 years in secret. When it finally debuted, it came with one of the highest price tags for a newly released wine of all time. The Clos d’Ambonnay is a blanc de noirs made entirely from Pinot Noir, inspired by Krug’s single-vineyard Clos du Mesnil wine. Compounding the difficulty of acquiring a bottle is the fact that only 250 cases were made.
3. Armand de Brignac Brut Gold (Ace of Spades) (6 Litre) — $6,500
Like the smaller bottle, the Armand de Brignac Brut Gold 6-litre flagship cuveé derives its light, racy effervescence from the quality of the label’s Chardonnay grapes, while Pinot Noir lends strength, boldness, and depth of palate. Pinot Meunier finishes it off with roundness, nuance, and fruitiness. The distinctive gold bottle earned it the nickname “Ace of Spades” after the logo, and the Champagne’s famous fans include Jay Z, who acquired the brand in 2014.
2. Dom Perignon Rosé by David Lynch (Jeroboam, 3 Litre) 1998 — $11,179
On the nose, this rosé’s initial floral and perfumed notes blossom rapidly, leading to aromas of orange peel and dried fruits. In the mouth, the wine reveals a fullness of texture coupled with a remarkably balanced structure that is both sophisticated and clear-cut. What really makes it special, however, is the bottle: just ten were designed by Hollywood director David Lynch (famed for his work on films such as The Elephant Man, Eraserhead, and Mulholland Drive) exclusively for Dom Perignon.
1. Dom Pérignon Rose Gold (Mathusalem, 6 Litre) 1996 — $49,000
Only 35 bottles of the 6-litre gold-plated Dom Perignon Mathusalem were produced. In 2010, one of those ultra-rare bottles broke the record for the most expensive bottle of wine ever sold at a British bar. Elias Yiallouri, the bar manager, called Rosé Gold “the champagne of kings” and told The Telegraph, ”The 1996 vintage is regarded as one of the finest in the 20th century… it’s incredibly rare and sought-after. Each bottle is like a piece of fine art – stunningly beautiful, extremely valuable and highly collectable.”

As long as the odds are good, a serious gambler will lay down his chips almost anywhere. But for the rest of us, a casino is about more than the money we stand to win or lose. It’s about the experience, the total package: the food, the service, the entertainment, the atmosphere. We go because we want to feel like James Bond, minus the constant threat of death from a pack of colourful baddies.Watered-down drinks and a lackluster breakfast buffet don’t cut it. We demand wild nightlife, Michelin-starred restaurants, multi-million dollar shows, luxury shopping and spas, and the kind of insane amenities that make us feel like royalty. So what if it’s all a ploy to keep us playing longer? Whether we’re dropping big bucks or only shovelling spare change into slot machines, we expect A-list treatment either way.Las Vegas and Macao are renowned homes to some of the world’s best casinos, but they aren’t the only destinations for upscale, swanked-out, over-the-top gaming. Try one of these under-appreciated spots next time you have cash to burn.

The Kurhaus | Baden-Baden, Germany
The Kurhaus in Baden-Baden has attracted day-trippers, spa and conference guests, revelers, gamblers, and sociable locals for almost two centuries, making it the oldest casino in Germany. Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s The Gambler was inspired by the author’s visit to the Kurhaus, and Marlene Dietrich once declared it “the most beautiful casino in the world.” A turbulent 20th century forced the casino to close for years, but since its revival, the Kurhaus has reclaimed its place as one of Europe’s – and the world’s – finest gambling institutions.VIEW OR BOOK FLIGHTS

TAG Heuer made a serious statement in the watchmaking world earlier this year when they became the first Swiss brand to take on the surging smartwatch segment.
To further their tradition of avant-garde watchmaking into a relatively new medium, TAG Heuer have just released a rose gold version of the Connected to ensure the watch remains one of the most classically inspired timepieces of modern times.
The watch hardware packs the same punch as the standard model with input from both Intel and Google to get the most out of the device. That means a multitude of connectivity options including GPS, audio streaming, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi all packed within a 46 mm brushed rose gold-titanium case.
Naturally, instead of power reserves and dials and movements, the rose gold Connected sports 4GB of memory and a latest-generation lithium battery providing an entire day of autonomy. There’s also a built-in microphone which enables services to be activated via Google Voice control alongside a sapphire crystal touchscreen and command push button at 3 o’clock.
As the Connected was designed to be an everyday timepiece, it bears the IP67-certified water resistant rating ensuring the watch stays safe and functional in low water conditions.
Users have the option to change and download multiple dial designs to ensure that no one Connected piece is the same whilst the rose gold finishings exudes masculine elegance.
TAG Heuer have even future-proofed the device, giving buyers a two-year warranty which concludes with the option of exchanging the device for a conventional Swiss-Made Carrera Calibre 5 mechanical watch. To find out more, visit Connected.

The art of car spotting relies on a number of tell tale cues. The front fascia; the side profile; the headlight design. One other significant part of car design is the also one of the most important – that rear end.The rear end of any modern sports car needs to exude as much character as the front since human eyes are more likely to be looking ahead in traffic. And in such a scenario, we say it’s always courteous to give these Peeping Toms something to ogle at.These are the modern day sports cars which feature some of the most dazzling tail lights ever conceived.

In between home and your holiday, there’s the airport. It’s your least favourite part of the journey – until now. Hit up one of these top-notch airports, the 10 best in the world and you’ll find yourself having the trip of a lifetime before you’ve even left the ground.
Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore Changi Airport’s IATA airport code – SIN – is probably enough to entice you to pay a visit, but we promise there’s plenty more to recommend it than a hedonistic name. Changi Airport has won over 430 awards since 1981, including 30 ‘Best’ awards in 2012 alone. Nowhere will weary travellers find more opportunities for entertainment – including the Asian Icon Interactive Art Station, the 3D Experience Zone, a movie theatre, a forest-themed indoor playground, free video games in the Entertainment Deck, live music, multiple gardens (complete with koi and butterflies), and showers.
Incheon International Airport

Incheon International Airport is the largest airport in South Korea and one of the busiest in the world. For seven years in a row (2005-2012), it was rated the best airport worldwide by Airports Council International. Among other treats, ICN contains a golf course, private sleeping rooms, an ice skating rink, a spa, indoor gardens, a casino, a Museum of Korean Culture, and a duty-free shopping mall that was rated the world’s best for three years running by Business Traveler. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Incheon International Airport also claims that it has only a 0.0001% baggage mishandling rate.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

The main international airport of the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, is the fourth busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic. Known as an “airport city,” the bustling hub has everything from a casino, to children’s play areas, to a museum of classical and contemporary art, to the world’s first permanent airport library. In addition to the collection of 1,200 books translated into 29 languages, passengers can also download e-books and music free of charge. Fun fact: the official English name of AMS, which puts ‘airport’ in the middle, reflects the original Dutch word order.
Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong International Airport is the world’s busiest cargo gateway and, of course, also one of the world’s busiest passenger airports. Travellers passing through HKG have plenty to look forward to. There’s the Aviation Discovery Center, where they can play pilot in interactive aviation related kiosks and cockpit simulators. There are exhibitions that include tea-making demonstrations and Chinese medicinal workshops. There’s also a golf course, an IMAX theatre, and various i-Sports simulators that allow athletically-inclined passengers to try their hands at football, basketball, boxing, skiing, shooting, car racing, and more.
Beijing Capital International Airport

The basics are all there at the Beijing Capital International Airport – the lounges, the free Wi-Fi, the mobile charging stations – but it’s the unexpected features that make it one of the best of 2013. The Luggage Claim Lobby contains four dressing rooms equipped with mirrors, tables, and chairs, so that weary passengers can change clothes after a long flight. A free 24-hour shuttle bus will transport travellers to the Hilton Hotel, where they can use the gym and swimming pool. And for those who think that size matters, Terminal 3 is the second largest airport terminal in the world, after Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3.
Munich Airport

Munich Airport has a long name – Flughafen München Franz Josef Strauß – and an even longer list of reasons it earned itself a spot on this list. In the event of bad weather or delays, passengers curl up on one of the cots supplied for stranded travellers. To pass the time, pay a visit to the Munich Airport Centre (aka MAC), a massive shopping, business, and recreation area, or the Kempinski Fit & Fly Spa. There’s also minigolf, a cinema, several historic aircraft that can be toured, and Airbräu – the world’s first airport brewery, where seven different kinds of beers are brewed.
Hamad International Airport

Hamad International Airport in Doha is one destination that continues to freqeunt the list of coolest airports in the world. The space itself is an architectural marvel and features some of the most luxurious fitouts you’ll find in transit. More importantly though Hamad is a true reflection of the progressive growth of Qatar as a whole and the gateway to the world. Bearing this responsibility is no easy feat – HIA costed $16 billion to construct and features a 25 metre swimming pool inside the facility. That’s not to mention the dedicated pre-flight snooze rooms and art deco which includes a seven metre Urs Fischer sculptured teddy bear. Should you need anymore convincing, Skytrax has voted HIA as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ in 2016.
Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport, ZRH, Flughafen Zürich, Zurich Kloten Airport…call it whatever you want, we’re just calling it “awesome.” Switzerland’s largest international airport represents its nation well – it’s clean, well-maintained, and consciously thought-out. Options for food and shopping are endless, plus passengers can enjoy a clinic, post office, banks, and prayer rooms. Active travellers can rent bicycles, incline skates, and Nordic walking poles in order to enjoy some fresh air in between flights. And be sure you don’t miss the Skymetro rail between Terminals A and E, which pipes in the bucolic sounds of the Alps.
Vancouver International Airport

Vancouver International Airport is determined to inject a little serenity into the stressful travel process. Works by native artists are displayed, a fleet of volunteers in green vests serve as staff, and passengers unwind in the Absolute Spa and Hair Salon. The Vancouver Aquarium includes a 30,000-gallon tank where more than 5,000 sea creatures are on view, and another devoted to jellyfish. The airport has won several notable international best airport awards, including the Skytrax Best North American Airport award in 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. YVR is placed 8th overall worldwide and is the only North American airport included in the top 10.
Tokyo International Airport (Haneda)

Two airports serve the Greater Tokyo Area, but Haneda is our winner. In December 2009, ForbesTraveller.com recognized Haneda Airport as the most punctual airport in the world for two consecutive years, with 94.3% of its flights departing on time and 88.6% arriving on time. Terminal 1, called “Big Bird” contains a six-story restaurant, shopping area, and rooftop observation deck with an open-air rooftop café. Terminal 2 also features an open-air rooftop restaurant, as well as the 387-room Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu. There’s even a pet hotel for your furry friends.
London Heathrow Airport

Business travellers can’t do better than London Heathrow Airport. Terminal 5’s Heathrow Boutique offers complimentary personal shoppers to help select a gift or expand your travel wardrobe. The terminal is also home to an 11,000-square-foot Harrods and a gallery exhibiting sculptures from emerging British artists. The airport even has its own resident press corps, which serves all major newspapers and television stations around the world, in case you want to check your celebrity status. 2014 will see more features added to LHR’s already impressive line-up, when the Queen’s Terminal (2) debuts in June with 52 shops and 17 restaurants.
