Outrage Over New Zealand Travel Rule Shows Some Australians Still Living In Covid ‘La La Land’

Australia’s Covid-free waltz recently missed a step. A Bondi limousine driver got The Spicy Cough and from there Sydney – and some other cities around the country – were recently slammed into lockdown. The New Zealand travel bubble was put on pause too.Now the bubble, which was paused on June the 26th, has re-opened to some Australian states (Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT) but with a new proviso – you must now take a mandatory $150 Covid test before departure.Travel from Western Australia and the Northern Territory will resume at 11:59pm (NZT) on July the 9th. The halt on allowing travellers from New South Wales and Queensland, at the time of writing, remains in place, with no certain date yet announced for when authorities will hit ‘play’ again. What we do know is that all travellers from the eligible states will have to take a pre-departure PCR or RT-PCR test within 72 hours of their departure and return a negative result before they board their flight. There is no exemption to this rule. Even if you’ve been vaccinated you must get the PCR test. The reason for the test is to reduce the risk of infected travellers infecting other passengers.“You need to have both your COVID-19 sample taken and your result returned no more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of your first international departure,” the New Zealand government’s Unite Against Covid-19 website explains.Free community testing stations don’t qualify for the necessary tests, so passengers will need to stump up $150 and get their test privately. As the comments beneath a recent Facebook post by frequent flyer and ‘points hacker’ Immanuel Debeer shows, the news that you now have to pay to get a PCR test to go to New Zealand has not gone down well with some Australians. It also shows how sheltered we have been from many of the realities of Covid-19, with paid PCR testing pre-departure having been standard practice all over the world for some time now.RELATED: Yet Another Video Has America Up In Arms About Life In AustraliaMr Debeer posted a video showing the wild (and in some cases, dangerously misinformed) comments he received on his Facebook post, to his Instagram story on Tuesday.“My post on Facebook got all the nut jobs out of the woodwork!” Mr Debeer captioned the video. His post was explaining how to get your PCR test. But many misunderstood it.

“How can you charge anyone for freedom of movement,” one Facebook user wrote.Mr Debeer replied: “I’m just sharing information. I’m not charging anything.”The same Facebook user hit back: “No but your [sic] getting paid to advertise this don’t you realise that the PCR tests are flawed and produce 95% false test.”Reuters Fact Check has shown this line of conspiratorial thinking to be wrong (and explains how the WHO’s words have been twisted by some social media users here). PCR tests are accurate when the correct procedure is followed.Another user, hopefully joking (but who knows), wrote: “Can I get the one that gives me blood clots,” to which Mr Debeer wrote: “Never heard that a stick up your nose gives blood clots,” and to which another Facebook user wrote: “The ignorance is staggering.”Another Facebook user asked: “Why can’t we do the same for all overseas flights? Test and let people fly.”Mr Debeer also took the chance to clear up some confusion, clarifying that the free government Covid test text results are not currently being accepted – if you want to fly to New Zealand you will need to do a private test at your own expense.New Zealand’s COVID Response Minister Chris Hipkins said on Monday travellers must not have been in NSW since June 22 or Queensland, the Northern Territory or Western Australia from June 26, even if they are flying from one of the other states. When travellers from NSW will be able to resume flying to New Zealand depends on how effective the current lockdown proves to be at reducing Australia’s community transmission of the virus. The Sydney lockdown was just extended by another week, and 27 new local Covid-19 cases were recorded today.

‘As Useless As A Doorstop’: Investment Expert Explains Why Bitcoin Will Never Replace Gold
‘As Useless As A Doorstop’: Investment Expert Explains Why Bitcoin Will Never Replace Gold

One of the most perverse elements of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis has been how, despite the ‘real’ economy going in the toilet, investors have been having a field day. From the GameStop and /r/wallstreetbets episode to Dogecoin shooting hoop after hoop, it’s a bizarre time to be an investor, institutional, individual or otherwise.2021 has also seen Bitcoin – the granddaddy of all cryptocurrencies and easily the most valuable – reach astronomical heights. Since the middle of 2020, Bitcoin was on a dramatic upwards trajectory, reaching an all-time high of around 63,000 USD for a single Bitcoin earlier this year in April. That’s a roughly ninefold increase over April 2020 prices.Since April, Bitcoin’s lost a lot of momentum and fallen dramatically – the biggest ‘tank’ (though not its first tank) in its history. It’s now currently sitting at around 35,000 USD, but that’s still over triple what it was worth this time last year.

Despite this insane volatility, many investors, especially individual ones, are increasingly treating investing in Bitcoin as a more holistic pursuit: it’s not just about making money, it’s about supporting a movement. The crypto ‘community’ even has a name for it: hodling, which refers to a now-infamous forum post where a passionate, inebriated Bitcoin investor repeatedly misspelt ‘hold’.This devil-may-care hoarding behaviour has caused observers to speculate that Bitcoin might end up being a store of wealth in the same way gold is – and maybe, just maybe, Bitcoin could replace gold as the world economy’s predominant store of wealth one day.“There are some uncanny similarities between Bitcoin and gold,” ABC News business editor Ian Verrender relates.

“Like gold, Bitcoin is rare. The total supply has been limited to 21 million tokens. And the pace at which the tokens are released periodically is slowed, so that the final coin won’t be minted until around 2140… Unlike gold, however, Bitcoin is virtual. It exists in the ether and has no utility or use other than as a means of exchange.”

“[But] gold… has been on the decline since peaking in August last year. Even the chaotic slide on global bond markets in February and March this year failed to fire it up. Government bond prices cratered on fears of a return of global inflation, the kind of news that ordinarily would see gold spike.”RELATED: Australia’s Favourite Speculative ‘Hobby’ Has Economists Clutching Their CalculatorsThe inference here is that gold’s status as the one unassailable store of wealth, turned to during times of economic uncertainty, could be under threat – and perhaps Bitcoin, with its decentralised blockchain ledger and mutability, will rise to take its place. Either that or we’re all just getting more greedy…

Of course, we’re living through unprecedented times (as hackneyed as that phrase has become). Let’s not confuse Bitcoin’s prominence with gold’s decline – when the world’s governments abandoned the gold standard in the 20th century, gold didn’t suddenly tank.RELATED: NFTs: The Digital File Currently Taking The Art World By StormUnlike Bitcoin, gold has practical uses outside of its value as a store of wealth: medicine, jewellery, electronics… Indeed, circuit boards – the hardware that supports Bitcoin’s existence as a virtual thing – are made with gold. Isn’t that ironic.DMARGE spoke exclusively with James Whelan, Investment Manager at VFS Group in Sydney and host of business podcast The BIP Show. His take? When it comes to what he calls “zombie apocalypse” situations, tangible assets like gold can’t be easily replaced.

“If everything stopped working and we had to actually go back to the barter system, it’s very handy to have gold in your safe, which is divisible and tradable. Whereas, if nothing’s working… your Bitcoin wallet is effectively as useless as a doorstop.”

“Part of the price of gold that’s factored into it is that ‘calamity value’. Bitcoin does not have that store of value.”

Another reason Bitcoin will never become a store of wealth in the same way gold is, Whelan offers, is because governments and central banks are hesitant to support it.“Governments don’t like it because they can’t track it (well, governments can track it, but people don’t think that they can). Governments don’t like the fact that [people are] using money which isn’t government-controlled… If they had the chance of replacing Bitcoin with their own central bank money, which is more controllable, then they would probably be opting to go in that direction.”RELATED: I Bought $1,000 Worth Of Cryptocurrency. It Taught Me A Painful LessonBut why is Bitcoin so volatile? You’d think because there’s a finite amount of them (or there will be a finite amount, as more Bitcoin are still being mined, albeit at a slower rate), it would make it a reasonably stable currency. But Whelan argues that it’s volatile because it’s really easy to manipulate its value.“Elon Musk’s tweets are moving the market… if one guy’s Twitter account can shift an entire market, you probably don’t want to invest in that market. Although we spent four years between 2016 to 2020 doing that with the S&P 500 with Donald Trump’s tweets,” he jokes semi-seriously.

“It’s frequent flyer points on crack.”

Whelan and his co-hosts, Paul Colgan and Ken Veksler, dive into why Bitcoin is so easily manipulated on the latest episode of The BIP Show with guest Sergei Sergienko, Australian blockchain expert and entrepreneur.Back to the topic at hand. Whelan puts it this way:“At a basic level if you buy a company or a market, then you know that there’s some sort of a value that’s underneath it, from every company mining company to Amazon… Even if they don’t really make anything, you can get down to the absolute brass tacks of that company and say they’re valued at x thanks to how many shares, how much money they’ve got in the safe, minus how much debt…”

A Bitcoin mine in China. China is home to more cryptocurrency mining operations than any other country, despite the fact that crypto transactions are largely banned there. The Chinese government has started to crack down on mines because of their extraordinary electricity consumption. Image: IEEE Spectrum
“Bitcoin? I’m still unable to exactly put any sort of number on exactly what Bitcoin should ever be worth at any one time, regardless of how many are made. You also need to look at the ethical consequences of that generation and creating those extra coins…”RELATED: Tesla’s Big Money Problem Is Killing The PlanetWhelan concludes:“It’s an unregulated industry which means that effectively, with a pen stroke, you know, it could be illegal to deal in crypto… A government could do that anywhere in the world or we could start to see that happen around the world. You don’t want to be holding an asset that could be completely valueless the next day.”Maybe the smart move is to avoid gold and Bitcoin entirely and just invest in sneakers…

A Very Honest Review Of Chris Hemsworth’s Centr Workout App
A Very Honest Review Of Chris Hemsworth’s Centr Workout App

When you come for the king you’d better not miss. But what about when you set your sights on Thor?

That’s what I set out to discover last month, as I set myself the challenge of completing an entire week of Chris Hemsworth’s workouts taken from the Centr app – a body bashing of every direction, meant to be completed over seven days – in one night.

Inspired by this David Goggins rant, which convinced me I had to do something crazy, I headed over to Mr Hemsworth’s Instagram account hoping to find some exercises I could mimic.

As luck would have it, Mr Chris Hemsworth had recently revealed the answer to my most burning question – how does he get so huge?

“I’ve had a lot of questions about my prep and training for Thor over the years,” Chris Hemsworth wrote on Instagram on June the 14th.

A post shared by Chris Hemsworth (@chrishemsworth)

“This time round I was fortunate enough to have a solid period at home to try a multitude of nutritional and training methods, to build the strongest version of myself and the character yet.”

“From that I decided to design a fully guided program on how I achieved those results. Eat, train, sleep repeat! With our Centr Power program.”

“It launches June 21st @centrfit sign up now for your free trial 7 day trial at Centr.com… link in bio.”

What could I do but click? I hit the bio and soon found myself credit cards deep into Google Play.

I downloaded the app and headed to the gym. I smashed my way through day one – Pumped Pecs & Triceps – before being dealt the devastating news that despite my gym being a 24-hour place, due to a problem with the sign-in machine, it would be shutting at 9pm.

Hoping no Norse god was looking down at me in disgust, I fled home and decided to try again the next day.

The next day rolled around. I waited until 8pm and got to work.

The routine is designed to be done over the course of seven days (with one rest day) and is as follows:

  • Pumped Pecs & Triceps
  • Legs of a Legend
  • Functional: Dynamic mobility
  • Full throttle back & biceps
  • Total body balance
  • Functional: Recovery activation

Watch everything I learned from doing all these workouts in the space of 24 hours.

Round Three

We don’t want to give everything away, so download the app to find out!

I have no photos of this workout as I was too embarrassed to film myself lifting incredibly puny weights in a room of buff people, at rush hour, at a popular city gym.

On the plus side, I enjoyed the variety of doing different types of chest exercises, as someone who typically doesn’t go to the gym, or who – when I do go to the gym – does stock standard bench press for my chest and nothing else.

I also found I was screwed either way when it came to passing for a gym regular. If you pick dumbbells you can handle (which for me would have been about 6kg) it makes it obvious you are a weakling.

However, if you pick dumbells more in line with what you think you should be able to lift, which for me was 10kg, you will soon find yourself – literally – even more red-faced.

During this work out I learned a few key lessons. The first of which is that I have poor squatting technique. I’ve always known that I arch my back too much and don’t engage my core enough, but have never been able to fix it. However, speaking to Fitness First Newtown personal trainer Sam Jenkins I realised that to fix this problem I had to understand the root cause.

The problem was that I had taken to heart the advice that you must never let your knees go over your toes in a squat – despite the fact that I rarely lift anything much heavier than 40 kilos.

Once I fixed this it had a knock-on effect of improving my overall technique greatly.

I also learned some great new exercises for getting a quality leg workout. As someone who has never done front squats before, I really noticed the difference in how much more they work your quads.

Functional: Dynamic Mobility

Functional training is something Chris Hemsworth encourages, and it refers to performing movements and exercises in the gym that closely mimic everyday tasks, such as sqautting down to pick up some heavy bags, for example. For my workout challenge, I had to perform the following moves (the below names are common terms, so you can find out what they are and how to do them with a quick Google search).

  • Ice skater – with a ground tap
  • Plank wave
  • Wide to narrow squat jumps
  • Plank to pyramid
  • Bear crawl

Complete all of the above for 30 seconds apiece. Rinse and repeat for 3 sets.

All I learned during this one was how awkward I look doing ‘ice skaters.’

Full Throttle Back & Biceps

Warm-Up

  • Wide grip deadlift (bar only)
  • Wide grip deadlift 25%
  • Wide-grip deadlift 50%

Round One

  • Wide grip deadlift
  • Wide grip deadlift

  • Dumbbell single-arm row (right)
  • Dumbbell single-arm row (left)
  • Dumbbell single-arm row (right)

Round Four

I struggled with this one. Having done the killer Pumped Pecs & Triceps the night before (and with all the sore muscles that came with it), it was all I could do to get through it.

I’d like to say I pushed through solely on will power but in reality, I just kept switching to lighter and lighter weights.

The combination of underhand-grip lat pulldowns and dumbbell hammer curls also left me feeling like my veins might explode out of my arms. Lactic acid for days. Thor here I come.

Mr Jenkins also gave me a useful piece of pull up advice, which is to imagine you are doing a shrug at the beginning of the motion.

Total Body Balance

Who wore it better?

Warm-up

  • Barbell military press, bar only
  • Barbell military press, 25%
  • Barbell military press, 50%

Round One

  • Barbell military press
  • Dumbbell lateral raise
  • Dumbbell rear raise
  • Barbell military press
  • Dumbbell lateral raise
  • Dumbbell rear raise

Round Two

  • Bodyweight squat

Round Three

We don’t want to give everything away, so download the app to find out!

By this point, it was about 10pm and I had been in the gym since 8pm. I was flagging but pushed through via the aid of Very Light Weights.

Bonus Section

Treadmill sprints

  • Sprint on the treadmill for 1 minute with the speed as high as you can handle, and the incline on 3
  • Sprint on the treadmill for 1 minute with the speed as high as you can handle, and the incline on 3
  • Sprint on the treadmill for 1 minute with the speed as high as you can handle, and the incline on 3

Boxing

  • Box for a minute
  • Box for a minute
  • Box for a minute

Sled Pushes

  • Push the sled 5 metres
  • Push the sled 5 metres
  • Push the sled 5 metres

These three were not on Chris Hemsworth’s workout app (or at least not the week I was following).

But I threw them in to make up for the fact I hadn’t done Pumped Pecs & Triceps in the same day (even if it was in the same 24 hours), and because I felt like – despite working out for two hours – I was yet to get a real cardio kick.

It certainly woke me up – and I even got my heart rate up to 196 (my average heart rate was 102) – as measured by my Suunto 7 Titanium watch.

Image: DMARGE

Functional: Recovery Activation

Round One

  • Bear crawl spin
  • Jump lunges
  • Push-up jump pike
  • Wide to narrow squat jumps
  • Reverse lunge jumping high knee

Round Two

  • Bear crawl spin
  • Jump lunges
  • Push up jump pike
  • Wide to narrow squat jumps
  • Reverse lunge jumping high knee

Round Three

  • Bear crawl spin
  • Jump lunges
  • Push up jump pike
  • Wide to narrow squat jumps
  • Reverse lunge jumping high knee

Round Four

  • Bear crawl spin
  • Jump lunges
  • Push up jump pike
  • Wide to narrow squat jumps
  • Reverse lunge jumping high knee

Round Five

  • Bear crawl spin
  • Jump lunges
  • Push up jump pike
  • Wide to narrow squat jumps
  • Reverse lunge jumping high knee

This one just about finished me off. After massacring myself with cardio in the previous workout I felt very ungainly during most of these exercises, pushing through the bear crawl spins feeling like a wounded animal.

Final Thoughts

If your priorities are technique, health, fitness, gains or life balance, don’t try and do an entire week of Chris Hemsworth’s workouts in 24 hours.

However, if you are feeling like: “F*ck the mundanity of life” (and lets be honest, who hasn’t been there on a Tuesday) and are looking for something extraordinary to do, then it will provide you with that ego boost – and routine circuit breaker – you have been craving.

Though your body will ache, you will have an inner glow (or at least I did) for the next few days. A sort of smug – I’m better than the rest of you schmucks who only do normal workouts – feeling.

So: is the ego boost that comes with doing a stupidly long workout worth the physical risks of injury (or simply sacrificing the amount of gains you would have got if you had done it as you are supposed to)? That’s up to you to decide.

In terms of the app, the fact that I had to keep checking it at the beginning killed my vibe a little bit, as usually I prefer to just listen to music and get into the zone (when doing my own workouts). The variety of new exercises this app got me to do made up for this though, as I have now committed them to memory and can do them in my ‘flow state’ workouts.

RELATED: The Seven Day Fitness Bender That Changed My Opinion Of F45 Forever

I would also imagine that as the weeks progress (if you continue with Hemsworth’s multi-week program, of which I simply did week one), you would get used to what each instruction means and it would become much smoother. I experienced this with the exercises this program got me to repeat, like the ‘wide to narrow squat jumps’.

In my case, as soon as lockdown ends, I am planning on signing back up to the Centr app and continuing the program as I found it very useful.

More than anything, as someone who usually does bicep curls, bench press, squats, pull-ups and dips on the rare occasion I do go to the gym, and little else, trying Chris Hemsworth’s workouts was a welcome breath of fresh air which I will continue as soon as gyms open up again (days after I completed this workout Sydney went into lockdown). I definitely found myself sore in places I don’t usually find myself sore. If that’s not a good sign I don’t know what is.

Ultimate conclusion? If you do it properly (which I plan on doing) I would imagine it would be very beneficial. So stay tuned for that.

Jay-Z Celebrates 4th Of July In Style With New $2.5 Million Richard Mille Watch

Jay-Z is one of the most successful musicians of all time. Not only is he one of the most influential and iconic rappers in the game, having sold over 50 million albums worldwide and boasting 23 Grammy Awards in the trophy cabinet – the most by a hip-hop artist – but he’s also officially the very first hip-hop billionaire, thanks to his incredible business acumen. He’s known for making savvy investments, but one of his favourite things to buy are high-end timepieces. Jay (real name Shawn Carter) has one of the best watch collections on the planet, mostly filled with super-rare Patek Philippes like his US$3.8 million Grandmaster Chime (ref. 6300G). He’s even had his own collaboration with Hublot. But when you’ve got the sort of bank account and status that Jay-Z does, you’re not limited to off-the-rack rarities. Case in point: his most recent horological pickup.‘Hov’ was spotted at a lavish 4th of July party in Long Island, New York wearing a never-before-seen custom Richard Mille piece that was perfectly suited to the party’s ‘all white’ theme. It looks like a green take on the RM 56-01 ‘Tourbillon Sapphire’ that’s been customised with a white dial ring, crown and rubber strap – which would make it a one-of-a-kind ‘piece unique’.In any case, it’s one hell of a flex.

The RM 56-01 itself is an incredibly rare and expensive timepiece. Crafted from a single block of solid sapphire crystal, only five were ever produced. Sources say they’re priced anywhere from US$2 to $2.5 million (or AU$2.7 to 3.4 million if you prefer). We’ve included an image of one for reference above – we wouldn’t be surprised if Jay’s is just as pricey, if not more, thanks to its unique green colour.RELATED: Tom Brady Flexes His First Luxury Watch Purchase… & It’s Surprisingly AffordableJay-Z, of course, has form when it comes to ordering custom ‘Millies’, hence our confidence in making this claim. Back in 2019, he commissioned a one-of-a-kind blue sapphire RM 56 ‘Tourbillon Split Seconds Chronograph’ nicknamed ‘The Blueprint’, a reference to his iconic album series. Blue, green… Maybe he’ll add a red one next?Unlike the fully transparent RM 56-01, ‘The Blueprint’ was hewn from blue sapphire proper, not sapphire crystal. It remains the most expensive Richard Mille ever produced, and virtually impossible to price. Here’s a photo of Jay-Z wearing it while attending the 50th NAACP Image Awards alongside wife Beyoncé.

Australia’s ‘Most 70s Ferrari Ever’ Is Like The Legendary Daytona, But Better
Australia’s ‘Most 70s Ferrari Ever’ Is Like The Legendary Daytona, But Better

Here’s an uncontroversial statement: Ferraris are cool. Especially old Ferraris. Every car the iconic Italian performance car manufacturer has ever made is held in high esteem (well, almost every car) – but one that’s particularly iconic is the Daytona.Officially named the 365 GTB/4 and nicknamed the ‘Daytona’ in commemoration of Ferrari’s 1-2-3 finish in the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona with a 330 P3/4, a 330 P4 and a 412 P, the Daytona is perhaps the most beautiful and capable vehicles to ever come out of Maranello.Featuring a revolutionary, angular Pininfarina designed body and a bored-out version of Ferrari’s legendary ‘Colombo’ V12 engine, the Daytona is widely considered the high point of Ferrari’s front-engined supercars. Needless to say, they’re also one of the most in-demand Ferraris ever made. But there’s actually a lesser-known Ferrari that’s basically a Daytona but more comfortable, refined and crucially for collectors, even rarer. And the rarest example maybe of all time has just popped up for sale in Victoria on Carsales. Meet the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4.

More luxurious than the first-class cabin on a Pan Am flight. Image: Carsales
The 365 GTC/4 shares the chassis and engine block as the Daytona which it was based on but features subtle changes to make it a more comfortable grand tourer including a softer spring rate, slightly lengthened body and hydraulic power steering. Air conditioning and power windows were standard, too.It makes slightly less power than a Daytona (250 vs. 259kW) from its 4.4L Colombo V12, which unlike the Daytona features side-draft instead of down-draft Weber carburettors. This was to accommodate its lower, longer hoodline, which is perhaps the most notable giveaway from the outside that it’s not a Daytona.RELATED: Rare ‘Yakuza Spec’ V12 Toyota Up For Sale In AdelaideOnly 505 examples were produced between 1971 and 1972, compared to the 1,284 Daytonas producing during its 1968-1973 production run. Of those 505 examples, only 42 were right-hand drive, making this 1972 example even rarer. The ‘Marrone Colorado Metallic’ paint job adds to that rarity further.
If you’re going to get an exotic car, you want one with an absurd number of cylinders. Image: Carsales
It’s easily the rarest 70s Ferrari on sale in the country right now, and is in truly immaculate condition. It’s basically like driving a Daytona but even better – and with even more bragging rights. There is one other 365 GTC/4 on sale in Australia – at well-regarded Sydney vintage car dealer, Classic Throttle Shop – but it’s left-hand drive and blue. If you’re going to have a 70s Ferrari in any other colour but red, brown is the correct colour. Doesn’t get more retro than brown. They’re asking $569,000 for it though, which is almost as much as Ferrari’s current V12 offering, the 812 Superfast. But you have to ask yourself, what’s cooler? Head on over to Carsales if you know the answer.

The following article was produced in partnership with Cartier.

Founded by Louis Cartier in Paris in 1847, Cartier has long been regarded as one of the most prestigious and imaginative luxury brands in the world.

Most people know them for their jewellery, but they are also purveyors of some of the most iconic watches of all time – indeed, Cartier brought the world’s very first wristwatch to market, the groundbreaking Santos de Cartier, in 1904.

Cartier’s back catalogue is a veritable hit list of horological superstars – from icons like the Tank and Tonneau to iconoclastic designs like the Crash and Cloche de Cartier – but one of their most distinct and innovative has to be the Pasha de Cartier.

First introduced in 1943, it was in the 1980s that the Pasha became the phenomenon that it is today. Its neoclassical flourishes, ‘square in circle’ design and bold presence on the wrist make it an icon of that era, and one of the most unique watches Cartier (or any high-end watchmaker) has ever created.

Now, in 2021, the Pasha de Cartier makes its triumphant return: just as bold and unequivocal, but with a wide variety of subtle tweaks that make it more exceptional than ever.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”294874″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://bit.ly/3qM9gJZ”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”294875″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://bit.ly/3qM9gJZ”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_separator][vc_column_text]On a technical level, it features a new automatic in-house movement, designed at the Cartier manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, as well as an innovative new quick-switching strap system, which makes personalisation a breeze.

There’s subtle aesthetic tweaks, too: a redesigned crown, which is protected by the Pasha’s iconic spinel or sapphire-set crown cover. Swinging back the crown cover also reveals a hidden section for personalised engraving – a fun little secret that speaks to the playful nature of the watch.

The Pasha de Cartier Collection encompasses a wide variety of takes on the unmistakable design. Different metals, different bracelets, jewels and even an eye-catching chronograph model – variations on a powerful and distinct theme.

In short, the Pasha de Cartier is a watch for tastemakers; for extroverts; for the young at heart. The real genius of the watch is how it both oozes old-world charm and elegance whilst simultaneously feeling radical and fresh.

The term ‘statement piece’ gets thrown around a lot in the watch world but it’s an appellation that the Pasha de Cartier deserves more than most. It’s truly individual and different – the ultimate style statement for the forward-thinking watch fan.

As for the next chapter in the Pasha’s story? That’s one for you to write…[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

‘55 Is The New 35’: American Man Stuns World With Impressive Physique
‘55 Is The New 35’: American Man Stuns World With Impressive Physique

Getting ripped is something the bulk of men dream about. Few actually do it though. And while there are more important milestones in life – being generally physically and mentally healthy, for instance – getting shredded is a luxurious challenge years of Hollywood (and now Instagram) has implanted in our brains as something we should all at some point attempt.

RELATED: How The Perfect Male Physique Has Changed Over 10 Years Of Instagram

If you are pursuing that goal allow us to slap you with some inspiration. Enter: a recent video, featuring celebrity trainer Mike Ryan, otherwise known as “The Muscle Critic,” which was posted to Instagram by the account @fatlosshelp.

The video shows Ryan and his son, USAF Combat Veteran, Joshua Hopkins, doing a treadmill workout side by side at the gym. You’d think the son – younger and a military veteran – would be much fitter than his 55 year old dad.

You’d also be wrong.

The video shows Hopkins pounding along and struggling a little. Then it pans across to Ryan, who looks about as comfortable as a sloth in a hammock – he looks like he could stroll along at the same pace for days.

As @fatlosshelp points out: “He’s not even breathing hard.”

Followers of the fat loss help page were impressed. One wrote: “I thought the first one was the dad Lmfaoooo.”

“This is what being chased vs being the hunter looks like,” wrote another.

“They look the same age,” said yet another.

Further comments included, “Dude runs like a predator” and “If you need a step mum call me lol.”

This is not the first time Ryan has shocked the internet with his physique. His Instagram page is a testament to the fact there are not old people and young people in the gym, but fit people and unfit people.

The man is a machine and he’s not afraid to show it.

He has also embarrassed his son at deadlifts…

.. and benchpress. [Watch below]

There’s your fitness inspiration for today, people. As David Goggins would say: “Stay hard!”

Dan Bilzerian’s Insane Car Collection Could Fund A Rogue Nation
Dan Bilzerian’s Insane Car Collection Could Fund A Rogue Nation

Dan Bilzerian might just be the most divisive man on the internet.

The 40-year-old entrepreneur, amateur poker player and social media influencer is a sort of modern-day Hugh Hefner. Virtually every image he shares online sees him posing with dozens of women, or riches, or both. He’s tacky as hell – arguably even a self-parody – but people love it. He has over 32.4 million followers on Instagram alone.

While it’s not clear how he makes all of his money (some people say he’s just banking on his daddy’s money), it is clear to see how he spends it. He’s got a particular passion for high-end automobiles, and while he certainly likes renting expensive cars, he also owns a few.

Take this sneak peek of his garage he shared on his Instagram Story yesterday. [Watch Below]

Pride of place is his 1967 AC Shelby Cobra, but he also shows off a new purchase – a Bentley Continental – as two luxury SUVs, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and a Cadillac Escalade. Seems the vapes and vodka are selling well, then.

While his Cobra has been polished to within an inch of its life, he seems to be doing a bit of a Post Malone move with his other cars, getting them all with a white paint job. We admire the consistency…

Bilzerian also seems to have a passion for niche off-roaders, too. No, we’re not talking about his 1970 Toyota FJ Land Cruiser or his Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6 (although they’re pretty cool) – he also has a neat collection of buggies, including a Polaris RZR 900, Jimco Buggy and this Can-Am Maverick 1000R he took for a spin with MMA fighters Donald Cerrone and TJ Dillashaw.

All this is to say that life isn’t fair. One thing’s for sure, he doesn’t care what you think – this is a man who freely admits to using steroids and has built an empire out of posing with bikini models. Water off a duck’s back.

It’s about to get even less fair. His long-anticipated book, titled The Setup, is apparently near completion. With the royalties, he might be able to buy himself even more excessive motors…
