Tom Brady recently finalised an “amicable” divorce from his now ex-wife Giselle Bündchen. In the wake of the split, the impetus for which many people believe was Brady’s dedication to football, workaholic Salt Bae has thrown his support behind Brady, taking to Instagram to write: “Greatness lasts forever.”
“We’re all humans. We do the best we could do,” Tom Brady said on the radio, after he and Gisele Bündchen finalised their divorce on Friday, something which shocked the world after their 13 years of marriage.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, who is widely known as the GOAT, and who is a ripe old 45 years of age, also discussed “giving all you can to the team” while navigating personal problems.
“I think there’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home,” he said. “Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation and I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games.”
“So, that’s what professionals do. You focus at work when it’s time to work, and then when you come home you focus on the priorities that are at home. All you can do is the best you could do. That’s what I’ll just continue to do as long as I’m working and as long as I’m being a dad.”
RELATED: Tom Brady Comes Out Of Retirement After Talking With Cristiano Ronaldo
So what left their marriage “irretrievably broken,” as a county judge put it? People reports that a source close to Bündchen said the mother-of-two “has lived her own life for years while Tom played football so she is not afraid to do things by herself.”
Though it is pure speculation, many people have argued that Tom Brady coming out of retirement was part of the cause of their marriage struggles. It’s not for us to say what went on, but what we can say is that it appears Brady has an admirer in Salt Bae (a man who seems to spend every hour either working, or working out).

Salt Bae took to Instagram today (on his story) to post a photo of Tom Brady with the caption: “Greatness lasts forever.” This came after a photo where Salt Bae showed off himself wearing Tom Brady’s “next generation apparel brand” and calling it “very comfortable.”
Though some critics have called Brady’s clothing line “way too plain and expensive” (just like they did with Kelly Slater’s clothing line Outerknown) it seems Salt Bae is a fan. We’ve no idea if he was paid to promote it, genuinely likes it, or whether he simply resonates with Brady on a love-your-job level (another trait, interestingly enough, GOAT surfer Kelly Slater shares).
Either way, greatness recognises greatness, it seems.

I recently got back from the most luxurious holiday I’ve ever had. Here’s everything I learned while getting sunburnt like a celebrity.
If the seaplane pilots don’t have you swooning, the island will. After leaving behind a world of jackets, pants and shoes, and entering a neverland of thongs, boardshorts and dappled water (not to mention humpback whales, turtles and manta rays), it’s hard not to fall in love with Kokomo Island.
WATCH: My two days on Kokomo Private Island
After indulging in the delights of Kokomo – an ultra-luxurious private island in Fiji – for a full 48 hours, all for the sake of you, dear reader, here’s what I have to report.
The seaplane pilots fly barefoot
It may be a crime to drive your car barefoot (according to some overzealous police, anyway), but apparently, it’s fine if you’re flying a seaplane. And I’m all for it, as it made the dream feel even more dreamlike (I literally had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t plugged into some alternative reality).
After touching down in Nadi (on a normal flight from Sydney, where the pilot was very much wearing shoes), I was picked up and driven to Kokomo’s private plane hangar, which is 10 minutes away from the international airport. There was beer and coffee. There were also comfy sofas, coffee table books, paintings and framed photographs. My baggage (and I) were weighed, and then after 15 minutes or so, I walked out into the bright sunlight and onto the seaplane.
I have to admit, once on the seaplane, the views had me feeling (almost) guilty with joy. Back at home it was 9am on a Thursday – time for the rest of the office to start fielding emails and jackhammering their keyboards. Meanwhile, I exchanged “holy sh*t, look at that” glances with my partner approximately once every two minutes, as we looked out the window at the ocean. I also took a few cheeky clips of the oh-so-handsome pilots’ bare feet (for the purposes of this article, I promise, not to sell on the Internet).
The scenery went from the rolling green hills to effervescent blue water, to deep azul, quicker than you could say “are we there yet?” Soon enough (after about 45 minutes), we arrived. It’s going to sound cliche but, it was literally like something out of a movie. We splashed down into paradise, and it soon lived up to expectations. We eagerly peeled our sweaty backsides off the plane seats, shuffled down the aisle and squinted out at The Promised Land.
Eyes adjusting to the sunlight, walking down the pier we saw giant schools of fish, reef and a potential turtle (that particular sighting might have just been a rock, but that’s the story we’re sticking to) all before we were welcomed with a song, a cold towel and a fresh coconut.
Coconut water hits different in Fiji
The welcoming drink (coconut, straight out of a coconut) was great. Much better than the cartons of Cocobella I’m used to from Woolworths.
The Astrolabe reef left me gasping like a fish
At 96km long, the Astrolabe reef – one of the largest barrier reefs in the world – is a sight to behold (not just from the air but from down below with a snorkel in your gob). It’s a diving pilgrimage, and I can see why: it’s comparable to any of my experiences on the Barrier Reef, Samoa and other parts of Fiji, and that’s before even leaving the resort (just out from the first rows of villas is one of the better snorkeling spots I’ve ever experienced in my life).
Swimming with Manta Rays made the trip
Nietzsche said, “if we affirm one single moment, we thus affirm not only ourselves but all existence.” Not to sound dramatic but… I feel the same about swimming with Manta Rays. It was special. You jet out on an outboard (15 mins, tops), hop off in the deep dark water, and float down along the edge of the reef with yawning monsters from the deep (mantas) gliding out of the gloom and scratching their bellies on the coral heads (a cleaning process, apparently) like puppies. Worth its weight in (Instagram) gold…
The unscripted moments are *chefs kiss*

On our way back from swimming with the manta rays we happened upon some humpbacks. Now that’s not a sentence you write every day. We quickly plopped off the side to see if we could swim with them. Though we didn’t see them from under the water (down low, too slow) the experience was a buzz. Taking an obligatory selfie, kilometres out at sea, was quite nice, too.
The villa is dreamy

Barefoot luxury is possibly the most cliché way to describe a tropical resort ever. But it’s hard to go past it in this instance. I won’t bore you with the jealousy-inducing details, but the villa was everything you’d expect from a 6-star resort. There was champagne on ice when walking in, a huge bed, his and her vanities, an indoor and outdoor shower, and infinity pool and a ten metre walk to the beach. Oh, and a hammock (and hermit crabs) out the back.
I had the most romantic dinner of my life

Walker D’Plank was the most romantic restaurant I’ve ever dined at in my life. Why? It was empty besides from my partner and I, we got to try the freshest sashimi I’ve ever tasted (as the chef told us, if there’s no fish caught that day, there’s no fish on the menu) and there were cute little reef sharks swimming just metres away. Oh and if that wasn’t enough, there were turtles breaching too.
The snorkelling out the front is spectacular (as is the coral restoration)
Though the Astrolabe Reef is world-renowned (and huge), you don’t actually need to take a boat tour or go Scuba Diving (although you absolutely should do that too) to have a stunning experience. Right out the front of the resort, I saw clown fish, turtles and coral for cays. I was even told that there is a seven-star resort around the corner, populated by the world’s mega rich, and yet they come here to snorkel. If that’s not a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is. The coral restoration project is epic, too.
The pontoon offers relaxation on another level
You haven’t lived, until you’ve waded out (at the speed of an old dude with a zimmer frame) to a pontoon, book and towel above your head, climbed on, and spent a good hour sunbathing and reading. Bliss. And yes, it’s literally on another level (you’re about a metre and a half higher than the beach, for starters).

The surfing was better than I expected
If you thought the only good surfing in Fiji was at Cloudbreak and Frigates; think again. Just a 45-90 minute boat ride away from the calm waters of Kokomo Private Island Resort you have all sorts of awesome spots. To score them at their optimal time, come in summer.
The Wahoo fish will ruin you for life
I’m not going to lie, it’s been hard to go back to frozen prawns and supermarket tuna. Very hard.
The farm set-up is impressive

Though it is an island, so some of your luxuriously prepared food has to be sourced from the mainland, this Kokomo Private Island still has major farm to table feels.
Kokomo Private Island might have the most picturesque outdoor yoga studio in the world
The views are just stunning. Especially when you take a sunset class.
Leaving can be a bit emotional
It’s a strange feeling when the most luxurious holiday you will ever have in your life comes to an end. But I wouldn’t have it any other way…
DMARGE visited Kokomo Private Island as a guest of Kokomo.

Cycling clothing may not win any points for its sex appeal, but it offers multiple benefits for whenever you strap your shoes into your pedals and set off on the open road. The most obvious benefit of cycling clothing is the fact it’s skin tight, so can help you cut through the air like a knife through butter. But cycling clothing also allows for freer movement, which is essential when you consider your legs are constantly moving.
You also need to consider that cycling shorts or bib shorts, will also need to provide adequate padding so that you’re arse isn’t left feeling sore the day after a long ride.
It should go without saying that, as previously mentioned, a good chunk of cycling brands can be considered ‘unflattering’, as it can not only badly designed, being covered in excessive logos that make you appear to be a sponsored rider, but it fails to take into account genuine functionality.
It can be fairly easy to buy a new bike or equipment from online bike shops, but the same can’t necessarily be said for cycling apparel. We’ve therefore taken on the task of tracking down the very best brands for cycling jerseys, shirts, shorts and all other kinds of apparel and paraphernalia, many of which prove that simplicity can rule the cycling roost.
Here are the best cycling clothing men need to know for their next epic ride.

Netflix dropped its new ad-supported subscription plan today in Australia, but it has already come with problems – some of the platform’s most popular movies and shows are not available on the plan.
The plan is part of a larger movement by Netflix to encourage people to stop sharing passwords with their friends. The basic ad-supported platform is designed to be a cheaper alternative for those who cannot afford the current standard tier outright.
The new Basic with Ads platform will cost $6.99 AUD a month which is a fair bit cheaper than the current cheapest Netflix package, which currently costs $10.99 a month.
But will omitting some of Netflix’s main shows might turn people off this new plan and start to illegally stream content instead?
Read on as DMARGE takes you through all the shows missing on Netflix’s new cheaper subscription plan.
Which TV shows and movies are missing on Netflix’s cheaper subscription plan?

Netflix announced in October that, “a limited amount of movies and TV shows won’t be available due to licensing restrictions, which [they’re] working on.”
But they also said that the cheaper subscription plan is still, “everything people love about Netflix.”
This is slightly misleading, as many of Netflix’s main TV shows that are adored by fans are omitted from the new plan.
This includes favourites such as Breaking Bad, The Crown and Peaky Blinders.
Netflix has not released a full list yet, but below are the ones believed to be missing from the new cheaper subscription plan in Australia:
- Arrested Development
- Breaking Bad
- Cobra Kai
- The Crown
- Friday Night Lights
- Good Girls
- The Good Place
- House of Cards
- How To Get Away With Murder
- The Last Kingdom
- The Magicians
- New Girl
- Peaky Blinders
There are also some movies which are not available with the new cheaper subscription service in Australia.
These include: Skyfall, 28 Days, The Imitation Game and The Bad Guys.
As with TV shows, there may be more movies that are missing, but Netflix have yet to confirm what they are (and we don’t plan to sign up ourselves to find out, sorry).
Are there any other restrictions to Netflix’s cheaper subscription plan?

Yes.
Fewer shows and movies are not the only restrictions to come with Netflix’s new ad-supported subscription plan. Another issue that the new plan has produced is that it cannot be used with all devices.
Variety reported that users of Apple TV – and its 4K devices – have struggled to get the Basic with Ads Netflix subscription plan to work. Although this is reportedly being fixed, Apple TV users interested in the plan may want hold off on purchasing until the issue is resolved.
Another restriction of the new plan – which is not going to go away – is the image quality. The ad-supported platform will only be broadcast in 720p, instead of the usual 1080p.
Although not an issue for some, lower quality may be a cause for concern for all the movie buffs interested in the plan.
Content is also unable to be downloaded to a mobile device so that it can be watched offline. For those who to download a movie for a plane or train journey, think again.
How many adverts will there be on Netflix’s cheaper subscription plan?
Netflix have confirmed that there will be roughly three to four adverts per hour on the cheaper subscription plan.
These will be roughly 15 to 30 seconds in length; and no, you won’t be able to skip them unfortunately. The adverts will be targeted, but only by country and the genres of the shows that you watch.
We’ve already made our feelings known regarding the new platform, but these overly stringent restrictions certainly aren’t proving us wrong!

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. There have been many efforts from Ukrainians to help fund their defense efforts since then. The latest of which is an initiative where a group of entrepreneurial Ukrainians are selling luggage tags made out of shot-down Russian fighter jets, which you can buy for $399. Each tag specifies the model of the jet on one side and the date and time when it was shot down. Each tag also has the crash coordinates and the tail number of the jet it was made from.
A group of inventive Ukrainians is selling luggage tags made out of Russian fighter jet scrap to help fund their country’s war efforts. The group is called “recycle Russia” and was founded by German-Ukrainian couple Fred Roeder and Maria Semykoz.
“Russia’s fighter jets and helicopters terrorize Ukrainians,” their website explains. “They kill with bombs, missiles, and salvos. Ukrainians defend their homeland and turn Russian war machines into scrap.”
“We recycle this scrap into luggage tags. The money we raise goes to support Ukraine’s defenders.”
If you want a tag, you’ve got to stump up US $399 ($633 AUD). You can also donate smaller amounts ($10, $50, $100 etc.) but you won’t get the tag.
The company says it is run entirely by volunteers, and all funds go directly towards helping Ukraine in the face of the invasion. The money goes to things like drones and other non-lethal supplies such as warm clothes.

According to The Independent, “In the past the organisation has funded thermal cameras, radios, protective vests and helmets to Ukrainian resistance fighters through sibling website Buy4aUkrainian.org.”
The Independent also reports that “the project came about after Ukrainian MP Maryan Zablotsky secured 60 of the tags, which had been made by the unit that shot down one Russian jet over Ukranian airspace.”
Co-founder of Recycle Russia, Roeder further elaborated on this, speaking to Airport Technology: “The Ukrainian unit that shot down the Russian SU-34 wanted to put this aggressive plane to good use and hence decided to collect the scrap of the plane and turn it into luggage tags.”
“In the future, we plan to provide luggage tags made out of Russian cruise missiles that targeted Kyiv.”
It’s also worth noting there have been various scammers posing as charities that donate money to Ukraine. So always do your own research before donating to anything.

The following article was produced in partnership with TINCUP Mountain Whiskey.
A neat whiskey is how aficionados and whiskey lovers like to enjoy a nip or two, but whiskey is also a fantastic base for all sorts of delicious cocktails. But not all whiskeys are made equal. It can be tough finding a whiskey that’s versatile enough to suit a variety of cocktails but robust enough to shine through other ingredients and not get lost in the sauce.
Enter TINCUP Mountain Whiskey: the most unique and exciting new American whiskey to hit Australian shores, and the perfect cocktail-making whiskey.
Inspired by the iconic Rocky Mountains of Colorado, it’s a blend of two American whiskeys: high rye bourbon, distilled and aged in Indiana, and Colorado single malt whiskey. Once blended, TINCUP is cut with Rocky Mountain water and aged for a minimum of four years in charred American white oak barrels, which blesses it with smooth and bold rye spice, cinnamon and caramel flavours and delightful aroma notes of citrus, pepper and ginger.
TINCUP is delicious on its own but it’s also the perfect base for a cocktail. TINCUP’s high rye content makes it more assertive and flavourful than your average bourbon but it still boasts all that single malt smoothness and versatility. In that sense, it’s the perfect dark spirit to use in all your favourite cocktails – as well as experiment with some new flavours.
To that end, DMARGE has enlisted Proximo Spirits Specialist and cocktail maestro Hayley Dixon to come up with some fun and fresh new cocktail creations with TINCUP Whiskey. Here’s how to make them yourself so you can impress all your friends and lovers.

TINCUP Buck
A buck is a classic category of cocktails made with ginger ale or ginger beer, citrus juice, and any of a number of liquors. They’re sometimes called ‘mules’ due to the popularity of the most famous buck cocktail, the vodka-based Moscow Mule… But we reckon TINCUP’s a better choice than vodka.
Easy as pie to make, a TINCUP Buck is a great no-fuss drink that you can quickly whip up at a party but is complex-tasting enough to make you seem like a master mixologist.
INGREDIENTS
50ml TINCUP Mountain Whiskey
150ml ginger ale
Lemon or lime wedge
METHOD
Fill glass with ice, then add TINCUP and ginger ale. Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge. Done and dusted.
Passionfruit Highball
Whiskey highballs are all the rage right now – but this is a highball that’s a cut above the rest. The inclusion of fino sherry adds a dry and delicate flavour that plays perfectly with the tartness of passionfruit and the rich, spicy notes of TINCUP.
INGREDIENTS
30ml TINCUP Mountain Whiskey
20ml fino sherry (e.g. Tio Pepe)
20ml passionfruit pulp or 1/2 a fresh passionfruit
15ml fresh lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
90ml light tonic
Lemon wedge
METHOD
Add all ingredients minus tonic to a cocktail shaker with ice. Hard shake for 10 seconds. Double strain into a highball glass over ice. Top with tonic. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Rockies Summer
Crisp and refreshing, this cocktail is a twist on award-winning bartender Joe Jones’s drink the ‘Summertime Sadness’, Hayley explains.
“Ginger cordial is best made fresh by juicing ginger and then just adding caster sugar to the liquid. The ginger naturally dissolves it. I normally just make this to taste and leave it pretty spicy, however, there are a few different options that can be easily purchased from your local supermarket, too”.
INGREDIENTS
30ml TINCUP Mountain Whiskey
30ml Italian aperitif
30ml ginger cordial
30ml fresh lemon juice
Grapefruit slice
METHOD
‘Whip’ all ingredients with one ice cube in a cocktail shaker until ice is dissolved. Pour over crushed ice into a chilled double rocks glass. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
Mandarin Derby
“This is a riff on a classic cocktail called the Brown Derby,” Hayley explains. “It is generally made using bourbon, grapefruit, lemon, and honey but we have used mandarin for the citrus kick instead and added pastis.”
INGREDIENTS
50ml TINCUP Mountain Whiskey
2 muddled mandarin segments
10ml pastis (e.g. Duval, Ricard)
10ml honey syrup
25ml lime
Grapefruit zest
METHOD
Add mandarin segments to a cocktail tin and gently muddle. Add remaining ingredients and ice. Hard shake for 20 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with grapefruit zest.

Padel – often referred to as paddle tennis or paddeltennis – is another racquet sport that has recently begun to surge in popularity, despite being invented way back in 1969. A mash-up of tennis and squash, padel is a game that can be mastered quickly, and doesn’t necessarily require physical strength.
But what is padel tennis, how was it founded and most importantly, how do you play it? Read on to find out all you need to know.
What is padel?
Padel, to give it its official name, is a racquet sport played most commonly in doubles (singles can play if they wish) on a court that is roughly the third of the size of a standard tennis court. A padel court is enclosed by walls – similar to squash – and has a net dividing the two halves – similar to tennis. Padel balls are also similar to tennis balls, but are filled with slightly less pressure, and they can be hit off of the walls, as you find in squash.
Where was padel invented?

Padel was invented in Mexico in 1969 by Enrique Corcuera. It’s claimed Enrique wanted to build a tennis court on his property, but didn’t have a large enough space, so instead he built a smaller version of a tennis court and enclosed it in walls. Because he didn’t need to generate as much power to hit a ball, he switched out a conventional tennis racquet for a wooden paddle – which is where padel draws its name – and the game of padel was born.
Padel quickly became popular in Spain and two padel courts were built in Marbella in 1974. Today, according to the International Padel Federation (IFP) there are over 25 million people who play padel in some 90 countries around the world. It’s regarded as one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide, and could well give pickleball a run for its money.
How to play padel

Padel is generally played in doubles and the way to score and win is incredibly similar to tennis.
Serving
The first serve of the match must be played from the right side of the court, to the diagonal segment over the net and the player serving first must serve for the entire game. The server switches sides from right to left, after each point is played. The receiver of the serve switches between players after each point.
A serve in padel must be performed underhand and after the ball is bounced off the playing surface. Servers get two chances to perform a successful serve, following the same fault/double fault system used in tennis.
The padel ball must bounce once after it goes over the net before the receiver returns it.
Scoring
Scoring goes up 15, 30, 40, Game. If both teams are on a score of 40, ‘Deuce’ is called, and a team must then create a two point advantage to win the game.
A team must win 6 games to win a set and the majority of padel tennis games follow a best of 3 sets format. If a tiebreak occurs at 6 games apiece, a tiebreak game is played, where the winning team must score 7 points and be 2 points clear of their opponent.
A point is won by a team if the receiving team allow the ball to bounce twice; the team playing the ball hit the net in the middle or if the ball hits themselves or a teammate.
Volley shots are allowed, and a team playing a volley can win a point by hitting the ball out of the court, just as long as it bounces off the playing surface first.
Using the walls
The key difference between padel and tennis is the introduction of enclosed walls, similar to squash. Players can hit the ball against the wall in the hope the receiving player won’t be able to return it. If a ball is hit off the wall, it is only allowed to bounce once off the playing surface before being returned.
Going out of the court
One of the most exciting aspects of padel is the fact players are allowed to exit the court in order to return the ball. If, for example, one team smashes the ball down onto the court and it goes over the walls, the returning team are allowed to run out and hit it back, before it hits the ground outside.
The ball can be hit back up over the wall and over to the other side of the court, or it can be hit back through the entry doorway, just as long as it goes over the net and onto the other team’s playing area.
Padel Court

A padel court for a doubles team needs to measure 20m long x 10m wide. If singles are playing, the court is reduced in size to 20m x 6m. The vast majority of padel courts are set up for doubles play. The net in the middle must have a maximum height of 88cm in the centre, raising to 92cm at the sides.
Perspex walls are erected around a padel court, that measure 3 metres high x 2 metres wide. The walls need to be 4 metres high in the corners.
Padel Racket

The racket used in padel are specific to the sport. They’re stringless and come in three different shapes: round, diamond and teardrop. A round padel racket is the one most commonly used by players, and is the best racket to use for beginner padel players. From here, there are a number of factors you need to think about when choosing a padel racket, such as the rigidity, weight and the core.
Some of the biggest names in sports make padel rackets, including Wilson, Head and Babolat.
Padel Ball

A padel ball is very similar to a tennis ball, and to the untrained eye, there isn’t much to separate them, but there are some key differences. A padel ball must be made of rubber and be white or yellow in colour. It must also weight between 56 – 59.5 grams. To get really technical, the diameter of a padel ball must be greater than 6.35cm, but less than 6.77cm.
A padel ball is also less pressurised than a tennis ball, being between 4.6kg and 5.2kg per 2.54cm2. The pressure of a tennis ball, by comparison, is 8.165kg.
Where to play padel in Australia?
Does padel sound like a game you would enjoy? If so, you’ll be pleased to know you can play it in Australia, and there is even an Australian Padel Federation and a national team known as the Aussie Crocs.
There are padel clubs in Sydney (two clubs with outdoor courts and indoor courts), Gold Coast, Perth and Melbourne.

It’s been announced that The Continental, an upcoming prequel series to the John Wick films, is set to be released in early 2023 and Amazon Prime Video has secured international streaming rights outside of the United States.
John Wick fans will be pleased to hear that there’s a plethora of John Wick-related content on the way. Of course, John Wick: Chapter 4 will finally be released next year and director Chad Stahelski said just a week ago that he’s open to making many more John Wick films in the future. But that’s not all.
An update regarding the John Wick spinoff series, The Continental has just been given. It’s been announced that The Continental will debut on the US streaming service Peacock in 2023 and Amazon Prime Video has secured rights to stream the three-episode series outside of the United States, the Middle East and Israel, according to Variety.
While no exact release date was revealed, according to Collider, it’s likely that The Continental will be released close to the fourth John Wick film – meaning March next year.

Peacock and Direct-to-Consumer President, Kelly Campbell said, “The John Wick films have become a global phenomenon, are among the most watched titles on Peacock and we are thrilled and honoured to partner with Lionsgate to extend this incredible franchise.”
“We understand the value of a global franchise and… the premiere of The Continental will be the streaming event of the year.”
Kelly Campbell

With regard to Amazon securing international rights, Chris Mansolillo, director of content acquisition for Prime Video said, “The ‘John Wick’ films have created one of the most immersive, detailed and enjoyable universes we’ve seen on screen in the last decade.”
“We are extremely proud to play a part in continuing to build that universe, offering viewers an insight into the origins of the infamous Continental Hotel and its incredible characters.”
The Continental will act as a prequel to the John Wick film franchise and will provide fans with the origin story of The Continental hotel seen in the films. Set in the 1970s, The Continental will focus on a young Winston Scott and a young Charon as they take over the hotel and turn it into a luxurious but neutral territory for members of the criminal underworld.
Winston, who in the John Wick films is played by Ian McShane, will be played by Colin Woodell (of The Flight Attendant fame) in the series, and Charon, who’s played by Lance Reddick in the films, will be played by newcomer Ayomide Adegun.

Alongside Woodell and Adegun, Oscar-winner Mel Gibson will also star in The Continental as a new character in the John Wick universe – Cormac. Katie McGrath, Peter Greene, Adam Shapiro, Jeremy Bobb, Jessica Allain, and Nhung Kate are set to star in the series as well.

Alias features awesome action scenes as well as great writing and acting; if you’re a fan of espionage-style shows/films, you’ll enjoy Alias.
Arrested Development

8.7 IMDb score, stars Jason Bateman, Michael Cera & Will Arnett, Comedy, released in 2003, 5 seasons
In Arrested Development, the rich but severely spoiled and dysfunctional Bluth family suddenly finds themselves penniless – the patriarch of the family is imprisoned and all assets are frozen. And so, the only level-headed Bluth, Michael – played by Bateman – is forced to try and keep his family’s business from collapsing.
Arrested Development is hands down one of the best comedy series of all time. It’s hilarious, intelligent and features some stellar performances.
Bob’s Burgers

8.2 IMDb score, stars H. Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, John Roberts & Kristen Schaal, Animation & Comedy, released in 2011, 12 seasons
This delightful animated series follows the many misadventures of the Belcher family – Bob and Linda, and their kids, Tina, Gene and Louise – as they run their restaurant that sells burgers. While you may think an animated series that focuses on an American family may pale in comparison when The Simpsons exists, the humour and characters that Bob’s Burgers features makes the show feel original and fresh.
Bob’s Burgers has many great, witty one-liners that may take you a moment to get as well as awesome musical numbers. Sure, it’s weird but give this show a go; you won’t regret it.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer

8.3 IMDb score, stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon & Alyson Hannigan, created by Joss Whedon, Action, Drama & Fantasy, released in 1997, 7 seasons
Buffy The Vampire Slayer follows Buffy Summers, a teen girl who also happens to be the destined one to slay vampires and demons. The show – especially the first season – is slightly dated; meaning it’s very obvious it was made in the 90s but that honestly adds to the show’s nostalgic charm.
If you like action or supernatural series, give Buffy The Vampire Slayer a chance; it’s a cult classic for a reason.
Burn Notice

8.1 IMDb score, stars Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar & Bruce Campbell, Action, Crime & Drama, released in 2007, 7 seasons
A seasoned US spy is suddenly fired, or ‘burned’, and has to resort to doing impossible jobs for desperate people so he can survive. He also swears revenge on those who burned him. Burn Notice features exceptional dry humour, thrilling plotlines and great acting.
If you’re after an entertaining yet digestible spy series, Burn Notice is for you.
Criminal Minds

8.2 IMDb score, stars Mandy Patinkin, Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler & Shemar Moore, Crime, Drama & Mystery, released in 2005, 15 seasons
Criminal Minds follows the Behavioural Analysis Unit of the FBI as they profile and analyse the moves of the country’s most dangerous serial killers in the hopes that they can anticipate where the killers will strike next. It’s a classic procedural show meaning you don’t necessarily have to watch the episodes in order or pay close attention to every single episode; making it the perfect show to unwind to.
If you enjoy crime shows like Law & Order and NCIS, you’ll like Criminal Minds.
The Dropout

7.4 IMDb score, stars Amanda Seyfried, Michaela Watkins & Naveen Andrews, Biography & Drama, released in 2022, 1 season
The Dropout is a mini-series that chronicles the true story behind Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes and how she put millions of patients at risk due to the healthcare technology she developed. Seyfried’s performance truly carries this series as overall The Dropout is just good – nothing more, nothing less.
If you’re after a show that you can quickly devour and will give you a few hours of light entertainment, The Dropout’s for you.
Firefly

9.0 IMDb score, stars Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres & Alan Tudyk, created by Joss Whedon, Adventure, Drama & Sci-Fi, released in 2002, 1 season
Firefly just wasn’t appreciated in its time which is why it was cancelled after only one season. Flash forward to today and Firefly has a cult-like following and is regarded as one of the best sci-fi series ever made. Firefly is compelling with wonderfully complex storylines and Fillion’s charming performance.
If you’re a fan of the sci-fi genre or of Whedon, you’ve probably already seen Firefly; if not, you must watch it immediately!
How I Met Your Mother

8.4 IMDb score, stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders & Neil Patrick Harris, Comedy & Romance, released in 2005, 9 seasons
How I Met Your Mother is set in both 2030 and 2005-onwards and is told with a series of flashbacks; Ted is telling his kids in 2030 how he met their mother back when he was in his 20s and lived above a bar in 2005. The series is hilarious, smart and original, and the five lead characters are all incredibly interesting and lovable.
Considered one of the best sitcoms of all time, if you’re after a good laugh, make sure you watch How I Met Your Mother (and NOT its spinoff How I Met Your Father).
Lie To Me

8.0 IMDb score, stars Tim Roth, Kelli Williams & Brendan Hines, Crime, Drama & Mystery, released in 2009, 3 seasons
Dr Cal Lightman is the world’s leading deception researcher and can determine whether someone’s lying by looking at their facial expressions and body language. Lightman has his own consulting firm which is regularly hired by the FBI, police, etc. to help with various cases.
Sure, Lie To Me has a novel premise but it’s a classic and enjoyable procedural show; perfect for lovers of Law & Order.
Lost

8.4 IMDb score, stars Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn & Josh Holloway, co-created by J.J. Abrams, Adventure, Drama & Fantasy, released in 2004, 6 seasons
Lost follows the survivors of flight Oceanic 815 – a plane that crashes on a mysterious island. The series is incredibly compelling and features some stellar acting performances as well as perfectly-executed poignant scenes (“Not Penny’s Boat”, for example). Sure, Lost has a reputation for having the worst ending of all time, but I actually think it was pretty good…
Yes, the quality dips slightly in the last two seasons but Lost is still worth your time – the first few seasons are flawless – and the series should be given a second chance; so, go watch it.
Save Our Squad with David Beckham

7.3 IMDb score, stars David Beckham, released in 2022, 1 season
David Beckham, arguably one of the most famous footballers to have ever played the beautiful game, returns home to London from his home in Miami, to mentor a struggling East London Club, Westward Boys. The team play in the league where David himself began his football career and so it will always hold a special place in his heart.
We think it’s fair to say Beckham doesn’t always posses the charisma one would expect of a world-famous megastar, and that carries through in this mini-series. In fact, we’d go as far to say it’s the the U14 boy’s team that really carries the show, primarily thanks to their sheer innocence and authenticity when they realise who it is that’s going to “save their squad.”
The Mandalorian

8.8 IMDb score, stars Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers & Barry Lowin, created by Jon Favreau, Action, Adventure & Fantasy, released in 2019, 2 seasons
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, chances are you’ve heard of Baby Yoda. Well, The Mandalorian is the show that introduced Baby Yoda to the world. If you’re a Star Wars fan, The Mandalorian is a must-watch; action-packed and with smart story-telling.
Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan you’ll enjoy The Mandalorian, just not to the same degree as someone who understands all the lore.
The Old Man

7.9 IMDb score, stars Jeff Bridges & John Lithgow, Action, Drama & Thriller, released in 2022, 1 season
When an assassin attempts to kill former CIA officer, Dan Chase, who’s been off the grid for years, Chase is forced out into the open. This sets off FBI agent Harold Harper into motion and he begins to hunt Chase down.
Thrilling, action-packed and with fantastic performances, especially from Bridges and Lithgow, The Old Man is simply a must-watch.
Only Murders In The Building

8.1 IMDb score, stars Steve Martin, Martin Short & Selena Gomez, Comedy, Crime & Drama, released in 2021, 1 season
Three true-crime podcast lovers team up and create their own when a murder takes place in their building. Extremely fresh, slightly quirky and with the excellent combination of Martin, Short & Gomez, Only Murders In The Building is phenomenal and a must-watch.
If you’re a fan of Martin, Short, Gomez or crime-comedies (like Brooklyn Nine-Nine), you’ll love Only Murders In The Building.
Scrubs

8.4 IMDb score, stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley & Neil Flynn, Comedy & Drama, released in 2001, 9 seasons
Scrubs follows JD, an intern doctor at Sacred Heart Hospital, as he learns about medicine, friendship and life. Extremely funny and very relatable – despite the fact that most of the main characters are doctors – Scrubs is considered one of the best comedies of all time for a reason.
If you’re after a good chuckle, add Scrubs to your watch list; although don’t watch the last season – most fans agree the show ended with Season 8.
The Simpsons

8.7 IMDb score, stars Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartright & Yeardley Smith, Animation & Comedy, released in 1989, 33 seasons
Does The Simpsons really need an introduction? Pretty much everyone on planet Earth has heard of this yellow animated family from Springfield. If you’re after a hit of nostalgia and some good laughs, make sure you add The Simpsons to your watch list.
If you’re after pure comedy, most fans agree the golden sweet spot of The Simpsons are seasons 3 to 8 but the first two seasons are still good (despite the show is still clearly getting its footing) and later seasons are hit and miss (but the hits are home runs).
Sons Of Anarchy

8.6 IMDb score, stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal & Mark Boone Junior, Crime, Drama & Thriller, released in 2008, 7 seasons
Sons Of Anarchy focuses on the SAMCRO motorcycle gang and its VP, Jax. When Jax discovers that his late father had different plans for the gang – less criminally involved and violent – he struggles with wanting to make the gang better and his loyalty to his gang members; who like the SAMCRO gang the way it is.
Sons Of Anarchy has an extremely well-written plot and storyline, and features one of the best ensemble casts to ever grace the silver screen; if you’re after a solid but manly drama, this is the show for you.
WandaVision

8.0 IMDb score, stars Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany & Kathryn Hahn, Action, Comedy & Drama, released in 2021, 1 season
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) branched out into the world of television for the first time in 2021 and oh boy, did it start with a bang. WandaVision is the most interesting and original thing the MCU has done in years and the show is clever, funny and extremely compelling as you try to figure out what the hell is going on. Plus Olsen’s acting is next-level good.
If you’re not an MCU fan, you definitely need to watch MCU films Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame (which you can do so on Disney+) to understand elements of WandaVision but trust me, WandaVision is so worth it.
Welcome to Wrexham

8.3 IMDb score, stars Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, released in 2022, 1 season
When Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over as owners of the little-known English National League football team, Wrexham AFC, it sent shockwaves through the entire football community. This documentary follows the two stars from their initial negotiations, all the way through to taking the team to their first Wembley final.
You also hear from Wrexham fans and those heavily involved with the club, and you finish the series unable to not have a soft spot for them. A funny, heartwarming and wholesome documentary that is a joy to watch from start to finish.
24

8.4 IMDb score, stars Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub & Carlos Bernard, Action, Crime & Drama, released in 2001, 8 seasons
An incredible concept, each season of 24 takes place over one twenty-four hour period; meaning throughout the course of 8 seasons, you only see eight days on screen. The series follows Jack Bauer, a counterterrorism agent, who is played to perfection by Sutherland.
Overall, 24 is thrilling and fast-paced; perfect for thriller and crime-drama lovers.
