Australians love a good pub. Not only do they provide a place to bask in our country’s heavily ingrained drinking culture, but in recent years pubs have gone from sticky-floored tradie hangouts to hipster hotspots and refurbished venues serving up carefully crafted food and drink.

So, in honour of the rise of the Aussie pub, Time Out has ranked them on food, beer, fun times, family friendliness, people’s choice and more. It wasn’t an easy job as the website states “There is no longer just one kind of pub, and that’s A-OK, because there’s not just one kind of person in Sydney – but they’re all thirsty.”
