Photographer Captures The Last Surviving Tribes On Earth

It’s not every day that you get to explore some of the most remote places of the Earth, but photographer Jimmy Nelson has spent the past three years doing just that.

In fact, for his photographic book ‘Before They Pass Away’, Nelson has ventured off the beaten track to capture these images of the last surviving tribes on Earth.

While Nelson’s work is breathtaking to say the least, it has come under fierce controversy for focusing on tribes naturally ‘passing away’ and “glossing over the genocidal violence to which many of the tribes pictured are being subjected.”

“Individually the people are all very sweet, but as their culture is being threatened they’re forced to stand up for themselves,” says Nelson. Click through the slideshow for preview of Nelson’s ‘Before They Pass Away’ which is available for purchase online now.
